here if you give them your defective motherboard you can have a 50$ discount so theoretically you canbuy a new motherboard for 139$
Bummer, you can buy a used s2 for a little more than this.
8000 INR , but i had mine replaced for 5000 INR (without bill) from a sammy service centre

I live in jeddah, can I ship it to cochin and ask them to repair it at the same cost, no service centers here that might assist with the low cost replacement. Do you have their address and number?
I have a fried motherboard too, gave it to the service center guys here in Jeddah and they say that it will cost me more than what it would to buy a used S2
Probable cause (cause and effect, not necessarily correct from a technical perspective)
I think it could have been my car charger that might have fried it... assuming that i did see once that the battery dropped from 70% to 40% after i connected the charger and I was foolish enough to connect it when the phone was completely out of battery... yeah tell me about it. I purchased another battery too.. original with the hologram and everything but after a week or so the phone would just not boot up.
hi
if you ask me!!! your galay s2 its useless so you gona start thinking to buy an galaxy s3!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol

Can u tell me how much time is required to replace the MOTHERBOARD of Samsung Galaxy S2 ...and what's the waiting time to get the delivery of the phone ..coz i also faced the problem with my GS2 a week ago and it's been a week till now still not received the phone from service center.........and they updated my delivery status after installing a motherboard ........ a phone require overwrite...does it require a overwrite or not?.......... and if require how much time it takes.....This problem all happens only when I was updating my phone to official jellybean update and while rebooting the phone stucked on Welcome Screen the one with(SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 GT-I9100G)........Pls.HELP !!!!...The Service Centre also took a time of 3-4 days to get the part from it's office....
You have two choices re: motherboard replacement -
1) Samsung/service centre - New motherboard, retain original IMEI in most cases/dependant on country (Most expensive option).
2) Search eBay/elsewhere online for a 2nd hand motherboard (you do see them on their own occasionally), or more likely look for a broken phone (screen broken but otherwise OK, for example) you can take the motherboard from. You can either replace this yourself if you feel confident enough, or you can pay a local mobile repair shop to swap this motherboard for the dead one on your phone (Cheapest option). With this option your IMEI will change to that of the phone the board came from, which is no big deal normally (Do not try to restore your old IMEI via an EFS backup restore, fair chance you'll bork your phone if you do).
Samsung will not sell you a new motherboard on it's own. If an authorised service centre sells you a new one without them doing the labor of replacing the old one, you're very very lucky & Samsung would probably chuck a fit if they found out.
Costs will obviously vary widely whichever option you chose, dependent on country normally.
hii everyone

If they are around the same price I'd just take it to the service center because that way a professional who knows what there doing can fix your phone. While the JTAG box is very helpful you can really mess up your phone if you don't know how to use it properly. Again if there about the same price its not worth the risk take it to the service center.

But... if you get a jtag/ riff box setup, then you can basically start a business unbricking phones, and maybe recoup your money.. But, remember, you need to have the proper software to resurrect your phone, or the know-how to develop it.

Mobile tech video claim to be able to jtag brick repair a Samsung admire for $40. Would love to find out how they do it.
I also found a website that sells a riff box (jtag) for $145 USD plus shipping.

Does anyone know where to buy motherboard for replacement ?
My LG L9 got water damage and the single circuit is fried and it is not even possible to replace only the circuit cause it is inside PCB, so I need a new working board.
As I figure, any board will do, P760, P765, P768, and P769 even cause the LCD connector is the same, I just need a place to buy a board. I have searched ebay with no luck, also chinese selling websites, I asked LG (like they ever gonna answer) and still no luck.
Please do not offer me to sell yours if you have broken unit with working board, cause it is against new selling/buying rules, but please do help if you know where to buy one. Thanks all in advance

Go to authorized LG service center. They will send requisition for fresh board and proper fixing will be done at reasonable cost. Others will screw it more.

well, that sounds fine. Im not going too need replacement as I already know what is with this board, and would repair the circuit myself, if it was not melted with the PCB (cant get it out). I opened more than 1000 phones, just need the board. Im really hoping there would be an option to buy a new one via dealer.
on that note, gotta tell you all that LG seems not to consider heating a problem. which is bad. this is my first LG mid-high end phone and heat spreading solution is really poor (there is none), just hopes that board components wont burn. Im now guessing that moisture had its way in, because of the poor inner assembly, and thats why it broke.
thanks cmahendra!
Could someone be kind enough to ask their local LG about purchasing only the board for P760/P765/P768 ... ?
I live in Serbia and our LG is run by completely reetarded people who are telling me that I can order a board only if they charge for the replacement, and that nifty package of service costs 220 euros.
could someone from nearby ask their LG please ? croatia, bosnia, macedonia, hungary, italy, france, anyone, please help.

Hey guyz I want to know something..I had purchased a second hand gs2 from my friend and its working flawlessly except the lcd screen(digitizer) is chinese made super amoled as because its an imported product but except the screen, everything is real I mean the cpu and gpu and all other things inside are from real gs2..bt some moron had replaced the original gs2 screen with a chinese made one and for that some chinese txt coming in the screen which is less visible but annoying. So I want to replace the screen with the original samsung made gs2 screen. If I produce my device to samsung service centre and if they check the imei then they will get to know that its an imported device..
But if I say them that ill pay any amount for replacing the screen, will they replace the screen for me? Need help guyz.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't replace the screen if you pay for it. However, you can probably do it yourself a lot cheaper.

That's similar to what you'd pay for just the screen here (Australia) if you bought one to replace it yourself. I guess you need to decide whether having them do it for the price is good value or not. Even if they end up not doing it, a local mobile repair shop who isn't a Samsung service centre should do it for a similar price I would have thought.

If you let them do it, you can be sure they do it proper (fixation, connection etc.), especially if the replacement screen for itself isn't much cheaper than the whole replacement service.
I had visited samsung service centre and when they had searched my imei number, they found that country showing as unknown..and they told me samsung wont service any phone with unknown imei..is there any way to change the country by editing any file? I want to show them that my gs2 is from india.

I ****ed up with a custom rom and the screen is bricked (touchpad won't work at all no matter what rom I install).
I bought the phone during a trip to China, but I live in France right now and I would like to pay for a new motherboard.
On the Samsung France website, it says they don't accept phones bought outside Europe for warranty. I don't have a warranty so, I don't really care. I just want to pay for a new motherboard and get this damn phone fixed.
Is it possible in your opinion ? Thank you very much for your insight!

if it is not a chinese copied GS3, you have the chance of getting a new mother board. but if it is, just buy a genuine GS3.

It definitely isn't a fake GS3, double checked that before buying!
However they should do a paid for repair no problem if not then use another repair centre .

Why do u want to replace yr mobo when yr digitizer(touchscreen) is not working??? The touch screen comes together with the LCD and the frame as well its easy to change makes yr phone brand new again I changed mine. Don't try to just replace the glass although some has succeeded albeit a small percentage. Goodluck

Yeah well, I'll give it to Samsung and get it repaired so, I don't know too much about the details. If it's the screen then perfect!
