They released this tablet knowing it had issues, they rushed this tablet to the market and most of us feel cheated! Where is the "Persistent Perfection"? It is their company motto! We need to do this to get them to realize their mistakes!
We can all agree that this tablet is plagued with issues, Big or Small; Noticeable or Not; Software or Hardware; Customer Support or Communication.
Known issues we need to stand up for! Whether you experience them or not!:
BLUETOOTH INCOMPATIBLE WITH WIFI!
WEAK/SLOW WIFI!
GPS NON FUNCTIONING!
SCREEN BLEED!
MELTING/OVERHEATING CHARGERS
UNKNOWN SERIAL #'s!
RANDOM LOCKUPS/REBOOTS!
LESS THAN ACCEPTABLE SUPPORT!
HORRIBLE QUALITY CONTROL!
TERRIBLE RMA EXPERIENCES!
DEAD PIXELS!
DUST UNDER YOUR SCREEN!
ETC!
Then to top it all off they are now dedicating all their resources to multiple new tablets (7000t 3000t, 3g prime, Memo, and the Padphone), instead of doing what is right and fixing the first one!
THE GOAL IS TO ATTACK UNTIL THEY RELEASE SOME SORT OF REPLACEMENT/REFUND/EXCHANGE PROGRAM!
We need YOU to Tweet, Comment, and Sign the Petition

IT WORKED WITH THE BOOTLOADER!
You guys obviously where not here for that! got a response from asus within 48 hours
In some way I don't think it was mostly their falt but ours since we were already rushing them. They did delay the sales because of the quality but demand was to big on our side. People wanted the device knowing it had problems and now most of them are fighting that they didn't pay much attention to the tablet. Even though we wanted it the way it was....... But every body has their views.
How many people agree?

Shut up some of us are out of our return window! and are you not unhappy that they will be releasing versions with fixed GPS and other stuff!
The bootloader thing was completely different, this is way too far, and its worded like a spoiled teenage rant.
What really annoys me is that I see you "OP" genuinely trying to help bring these problems to light and get Asus to do the right thing and fix this debacle of a product. But instead I see trolls trollin your thread. Lame.
I applaud you for your outcry. This really needs Asus's FULL attention. Not just Gary and a few other employees. I have a feeling Asus is going to proceed with the release of the TF700t and leave the TF201 in the dust. If I was Asus I would carefully take a look at what went wrong with the TF201 and figure out how to fix it. Instead of releasing a new product. If these problems aren't fixed by Tuesday I am returning my Prime and dock and going with an iPad 3 or maybe a TF700t. Most likely an iPad 3. I really hope Asus comes through in the next 72 hours.
Try not to get upset with fellow TF201 owners. I guarantee their tone will change once the TF700t arrives with no problems. We are all on the same team.

They had no right to LOCK something we purchased
It was not a cellphone purchased on contract!
This is unacceptable for a company as big as Asus to have this horrible of quality control!

No problem. I am here to help.
I know that I have only been a member of this thread for a short while. But I have enjoyed/found most people here to be informitive and entertaining.
Not only is Asus causing me to second guess my 5th TF201 & dock purchase by way of a full refund return, they are alienating me from participating in this wonderful forum full of members with similar interests. After my 5th Prime I'm gone from XDA/Asus.
I really hope it doesn't come down to this.
Ok guys, i feel ya. It sucks getting a faulty product especially over and over. No argument there.
But these issues are only present in a small percentage of Primes. And most of them only apply to artificial situations. For instance wifi: I have a a ~16 Mbps connection. What if my wifi drops to 8 Mbps for some seconds while watching youtube? I wont even notice. So for 95% of Prime users those wifi "issues" dont exist. Me included even though i get pretty steady results.
Minor screen bleed is present on almost all IPS panels even your precious ipads (you should get one, they are perfect devices, will never have problems and last 100 years - sry irony took over ). And again, the only place you notice screen bleed is on startup screen or if your in complete darkness looking at a black page and turning IPS+ on.
So the amount of people that have gone through several primes is very very small. Even here on XDA most people dont experience these issues in a way that the device becomes less fun or even unusable.
By logic the amount of people that will sign this petition and send some spam mail will never be enough to actually achieve something. Sorry man
The bootloader thing was something completely different. Companies locking up bootloaders is something that affects every freakin Android user. So i'm pretty sure there were many people that didnt even plan on buying a prime signing that petition. The same way i have signed the HTC petition and will sign every single one about locking bootloaders of Android devices. Plus, i'm almost certain ASUS already planned it when the petition started.
Again it sucks buying and waiting for such a product and then having a faulty device. Happened to everyone once... But all you can do is, return it and hope for getting a working replacement. Buying another product, or waiting for the next Transformer model from ASUS.
And btw when i read TF700T will have no issues, all i can say is lol. Its like saying the world will end in 2012. Wait... Maybe the two things are linked in some higher plan we dont understand yet!!!??? I think i'm on to something here...

I agree. Most of the TF201 returns I heard about from customer service at my local Bestbuy were transactions that resulted in a full refund not exchange. Most people would return and move on to iPad 3, TF700t etc......
Do you really believe that after this mess of a release Asus is gonna release another defective product? I don't think so. I'm sure Asus's legal department/engineering is working together to provide a "Asus Inspiring Innovation Persistent Perfection" product with the release of the TF700t.
While I'm not quite as zealous as the OP, I do feel that ASUS needs to address the issues listed above. They undoubtedly knew there were pretty severe engineering issues with the prime before release if not, then quite soon thereafter. The weak wifi and nonexistent GPS are unquestionable. The other QA problems are more or less expected

I wonder if this isn't the first step towards reaching some kind of resolution to this whole mess. ASUS does need to know exactly what's going on before they take any actions at fixing anything.

keep us posted. Especially on wifi, BT, and GPS. or if they modified the back in anyway for you.
Willing to bet they had a bad batch out of manufacturing or something. This happens sometime.
Honestly, I have been using Asus products for a long time and have always been happy with them. They have not been in the business of making consumer products for that long. I think they really want this to be a great product and have everyone happy.
This is why the encrypted, locked bootloader was such a surprise and disappointment considering they started as a brand known only to system builders.
Well, Asus must not be reading anything I am writing, including the ticket on their website I sent 2 days ago.
I have "Serial Number Unknown" and cannot update my prime. I filled out a Tech Ticket on asus.com, registered it, did all of that.
Anyways, Asus is running out of time, if they are not going to respond to my tech ticket by the end of the day, I am returning it after work.
I have been extremely unhappy with Asus. Their misinformation everytime someone calls them. The fact they keep denying that ICS 4.0 was released and we are already getting 4.03, the fact that mine has "Serial Number Unknown" and Asus will not respond to me.
Why should I give them $500 if they dont appreciate me enough to try to help me? They wont respond to my ticket? This is ridiculous and I am basically laughing at all of you calling Asus a great company.
HAVE YOU EVEN BEEN READING WHAT IS GOING ON ? Asus has handled all of these issues as poorly has possible. They are denying 4.0 was released and telling us "Serial Number Unknown" users to just wait, there is no updated firmware. Yeah, wait until we cannot return it?
What about the way the GPS issue was dealt with? Dont get me started on how long people have waited for their tablet to be serviced.
I can understand if you like Asus, but to say they are a great company may have been true before the Asus Prime release, but since then they have got to be have the worst Customer Service I have ever seen.
Well, using that email:
[email protected]
I sent them this:
Hello,
I'm looking for support for with my Transformer Prime. The errors I have experienced are as follows:
It has an unknown serial number preventing me from receiving any OTA updates.
It has rebooted randomly 3 times.
The screen has scrambled leaving horizontal lines with unreadable text while browsing until the tablet screen was turned off and turned back on.
Wifi turns off commonly while the tablet is idle.
Wifi plus bluetooth connected at the same time slows down the tablet to 300 kbps (kilobits) download connection speed.
Problems with certain apps which force close (that other people do not have problems with).
I do not want to return this tablet to Best Buy, but if there is no fix for it within the next 8 days (amount of time I have to return it) I will be forced to do so as this is not what I paid for.
Thank you. Awaiting your response,

I registered my device, then used their Tech Ticket or whatever option to let them know my problems. It uses my Serial Number, Build Number, etc in the email. So they know everything about my Prime.
They have not responded, and I dont expect them to meet their 48 hour response window at all, as others are having the same problems.
I am returning, and probably buying something later from a different company. I know everyone here loves Asus, and many think they are a "great" company. But my experiences so far, personally, plus everyones I am reading and hearing on forums like these, have been so disappointing.
I am a 6th Grade School Teacher and nobody understands patience any more than me. Asus is really trying my patience with them, thus, I am not comfortable giving them my money. If they are not going to help me with a simple software problem, "Serial Number Unknown, which has been an issue for people since the middle of December, then what are they going to do when I have a hardware issue and have to send it in?
I gave Asus a chance. I wanted to buy a Prime, I want to keep my Prime, I actually really like it, but my problems are ignored, and I am going to ignore Asus with my money. Sorry!
This has been good for me and my students because I have been very open about these issues with them. I was so excited to get the tablet, I showed it to them. I brought it to school, let them play with it, they thought it was "awesome." Now I have been explaining the aftermath, cannot update, all the issues others are having. I am trying to teach them to stand up and not simply "accept mediocrity."
We also have only spent a few minutes at the end of the day on this, but I was going to use the tablet with them in class since HDMI out could go straight into my LCD Projector. I had to explain why they wouldn't see the tablet anymore.
If you have a problem with your TP, SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE! Thanks

Not meant to single out fruit fans or others at all. The more I read threads here, the more I can only think that the forum is getting cluttered with crap from non-Prime owners, so that folks researching steer clear of the device, as if it were a concerted effort...
Then again, I could just be taking the conspiracy theorist avenue here, unwittingly. Who knows?
In reality, some have GPS issues, BT, Wifi, light bleed. I don't, so maybe that's tainting me. ICS was a fantastic upgrade for me as well, so maybe I'm just tainted toward the positive...

Not trying to convince anybody, but have thought it for weeks now, and I keep seeing threads and posts that have bolstered my hypothesis (to me).
This is an awful assumption. These issues are real. I would almost think the opposite of your opinion, that people are on here to make the Prime SOUND LIKE THERE ARE NO ISSUES!
All of the people with Perfect Primes, Perfect Screen, Perfect Wifi, Perfect GPS, No Screen Lifting, etc. I have a hard time believe ALL of them, not some of them.
Also, I have seen quotes like "Asus is trying to make it right!" "Asus is a great company." Etc.
Those have to be the biggest LOL statements to say about Asus right now.
I think Asus is behind it. They hate making money.
Lots of the plants seem a bit simple to be prime owners too. Maybe just needs more active moderation now the initial burst of activity is done.
Conspiracy is a strong word! I am sure just about every company highlights the weaknesses of their competitors. An Apple employee once seriously told a friend of mine that Android was unsecure, and it would be easy for bad persons to steal his credit card information if he used that OS. I doubt Apple told this employee to say that, but that kind of stuff goes on everywhere.
There are real issues with the Prime for many people. They are not happy about them, so they are complaining. My Prime has been great, except for a semi-weak GPS. (I can get 9-12 satellites outdoors without wi-fi OFF, but it takes a long time to lock compared to my phone and probably won't work in a moving vehicle.) The wi-fi is probably weak also, but I've never had trouble with it, so I'm fine. I'm sure Asus would love to have this whole Prime development/release to do over! I knew the issues ahead of time (as I am not a super early adopter), but I decided to buy the Prime anyway ... I have a phone for GPS navigation ... and probably would never have used the Prime for that, anyway.
I have no hard feelings toward Asus and feel they are doing their best to make things right. I will buy their products in the future without hesitation. However, since the product design is flawed in the wi-fi / gps arena, they can only do so much ... many people will remain unhappy because Asus really can't make this one completely right.
The prime forums make me want to give up on XDA. No matter what the device if you give two identical ones to two different people they will have different issues. The prime simply has some flaws that may or may not affect you. So does nearly every other product of any kind on the market. So what if they are releasing a another prime device? It's fairly in line with there development cycle. Hell the entire tablet industry is on a short dev cycle right now like smartphones have been.
I know I really enjoy my prime despite the fact it seems to have poor wifi reception and I dislike the power button & charge port placement.

Ha! Exactly right. It doesn't make me feel any better that another device, which I don't own and have no intention of buying, has problems. The only way this news is helpful is when arguing with iPhans about how their stuff is perfect. It doesn't make my Prime work any better, and that's little comfort.
I think someone else already started a thread this morning about how pointless these Apple-has-problems-too threads are. Pointing at the problems of others doesn't fix your own problems. It's just deflection.
Is there really a need for this topic?
As you've already posted the same thing in... two?
Seperate Ipad comparasion topic.
So if the Viewsonic ViewPad has a dozen dead pixels does that make it OK for the Prime to have ten? These "see, someone else lowered the bar" posts don't make any sense when trying to justify any devices shortcomings. If a device has an included feature each manufacturer should be held to a high standard making sure it works properly. It'll suck for Apple if the iPad3 does have Wi-Fi issues but that's not an excuse for every other manufacturer to start shipping products with ****ty Wi-Fi.

I agree 100%. but this is to show Asus and Prime is not the only one with these type of issues. I know you don't have amnesia. I'm sure you remember in the begging how you n others made it seem like Asus and Prime was the only tablet ever to suffer from issues and being so close to release. well current news on the latest n greatest Ipad shows otherwise. that's all. Aside from that point I just made, what you saying is correct. no company should have all this going on. but electronics are far from perfect, just like man is. so what man creates will be imperfect also. All product companies have issues one way or another. all this new Ipad revelation is just letting current prime owners know, WE ARE NOT ALONE IN ALL THIS. even the best tablet selling device in the world is now experiencing a crisis far larger than prime issues ever was.

While I agree that it doesn't change anything if you hate your prime so much why not get rid of it? All I see you post is gripes and complaints and it makes no sense to me why you would keep something that makes you cry aloud so much.
It is asinine to me that people would rather constantly complain about something and make no attempt to mitigate the issue, even if that mitigation is just getting rid of it.

This, x1000000000
To bring up ANY other product's flaws, unless that flaw led to a solution that could help, is pointless. So what if 50 other devices have wifi issues too, that just means they potentially made a similar mistake. That does not elevate the prime, nor did it need elevating to begin with. enough finger pointing.
It's probably a mistake even posting on this as it's just going to bump it. But I really agree with the other people. I bought a prime. Yes seeing a thread or two about comparisons with other devices is alright and I enjoy reading them. That being said every other thread this week is iPad. These threads are not contributing and they're not helping or informative to anyone that has a prime.
Really wish people would post on threads already made about THAT topic.
And that's my rant.
@Demandarine... I'm thinking the issues popping up a lot quicker because the volume of ipads sold is wayyyyy more than any other single tablet.

Closing this thread. Enough is enough people. Go post in one of the other iPad vs Transformer threads.

*Here is my situation:
*
I recently purchased (within the last 90 days) the 32GB version of the Transformer Prime in Victoria, BC Canada from Staples and paid $600 and I was looking forward to getting the keyboard and getting a lot of use out of it. Instead of this I had nonexistent GPS in that I couldn't get a decent/accurate reading from my apartment. I live in a one bedroom apartment in a small building with no large buildings around. All I wanted was the location of my apartment and it could not do that. I had NO INTENTION of using it as a GPS unit in my car. Mr Hai Trat (ACI) answer to this question was GPS on the Prime has been removed from Marketing sheets so getting great accuracy will not occur if you purchase a Prime.* At this point it will not be up to par for this function unfortunately. I attach that email for your reference.
*
The Wi-Fi was not strong and varied strength even at a distance of less than 10 feet.* Mr Hai Trat’s answer to this was for the Wifi/BT strength/symptoms the newer iterations perform better, however they will not be as great as our Prior TF101.* I believe this is because of the antenna redesign we had with the Prime.* I have tested the new C3 batches and getting good download speeds within 15 feet of our routers.* Anything passed will degrade quite significantly. I also attach that email for your reference.*
*
These are totally unacceptable answers in that I'm been told the product is not up to par and the previous model TF-101 has better download speeds. This makes no sense at all that an older model preforms better. *Besides the problems are due to the metal back on the Prime and these issues will not be fixed with software updates, this is where the new Asus Infinity 700 when released will solve these problems as it has a plastic strip on the back.* Mr Hai Trat confirms this in his email, (I believe this is because of the antenna redesign we had with the Prime)* What is the point of a $600 Wi-FI only tablet with lousy Wi-Fi and Gps problems* I ended up returning it to Staples. You are doing software updates on a regular basis but these do not address the WI-Fi/Gps issues at all.
*
Thanks for your time and I look forward to your response as I really want an Asus transformer prime that has the quality you talk about in your mission statement and lives up to its specifications.* My alternative plan is the just announced Acer A-510 or the A-700 the Lenova K2 when its released and than the Infinity A700 providing it works according to specifications.* I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH APPLE PRODUCTS.
What I'm asking for is an Asus Transformer Prime that has a proper plastic panel along the top in the back so that WI-Fi/Gps/ can work fully the way they are intended to and download speeds that are better than the previous model TF-101* in other words a Prime that lives up to and matches the its specifications.this is what I want* just like your mission statement says Focus on Quality, Long-Term Relationships and Perseverance”.
I look forward to your response.
*
Yours truly.,
Gregory Lee Joplin

Hi Hai
Its really important that you answer my questions as this will determine whether I wait for the infinity 700 or get the Acer A700 or the Lenovo K2.
Re The prime
1/ has the gps been disconnected?
2/Does the Gps function to find your current location?(ie home/wifi spot in Coffee Shop or on street)
(I'm not talking about using the Gps in a car at all)
3/ As the WiFi signal strength/problems been fixed at all withe the various updates?
There is so much contradiction on Blogs/forums I HAVE NO IDEA who to believe.
I would really prefer to get the 64gb prime along with the dock from Staples as I can get a good deal but on the other hand I expect gps/wifi to function really well for the price I would be paying.
I know the infinity is going to cost more and the Gps/Wifi will be better and it will have a higher resouloution screen and cost about a $100 more.
(I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO SPEND THIS EXTRA MONEY!!!
So Hai please tell me the answers to the above questions
You have never lied to me so i trust your opinion.
*
*
Thanks
Greg

Dear Gregory,
*
Yes, sorry I was out of office for some time.
*
Here is the answers as best as I can provide them for you.
*
1)***** GPS on the Prime has been removed from Marketing sheets so getting great accuracy will not occur if you purchase a Prime.* At this point it will not be up to par for this function unfortunately.
2)***** Yes, it will still function as an A-GPS (Assisted GPS) as long as the condition of keeping an active Wi-Fi and using it within the scope of Google Maps occurs.* All our testing has confirmed accuracy to be within 100 meters.* But this is mostly because of wi-fi location and not for GPS itself.
3)***** For the Wifi/BT strength/symptoms the newer iterations perform better, however they will not be as great as our Prior TF101.* I believe this is because of the antenna redesign we had with the Prime.* I have tested the new C3 batches and getting good download speeds within 15 feet of our routers.* Anything passed will degrade quite significantly.
*
I am not sure if I answered your question on the Infinity.* But it has not been declared for an official release on North American shores.* I am anticipating closer to the end of the year before it gets released.* But this may change as we have executive management from headquarters in Taiwan change info on release dates, I do not determine this.* When the time comes and more details emerge for the Infinity Pad for North America, I can let you know.
*
I do want to say that I would prefer to keep our customers but this is the best info I can provide to let you use for our tablets for making a good purchasing decision.
*
*
Thanks,
Hai Trat

What..did the thread title mislead you?
I don't think he should've posted this. lol. If true, this blows all the doors on Infinity pad. Letter said there is no confirmation on an American shore release. plus it said if it were to release here, it won't be till the end of the year. DANG!
I would think alot who were waiting on Infinity pad should be disappointed reading this. I don't get significant drop offs of download speeds past 15ft. from router..lol.
Seems like he purposely left some info out though. Especially in regards to the announcement coming up. Which would affect some of his statements in there regarding the prime and how it would perform on certain tasks.
I've seen some people with newer models post they don't have the wifi/BT drop off issue. That's with using BT headset to stream audio while using tablet to stream movie or video through wifi. Someone in another thread basically summed up what's happening though. Anytime a manufacturer goes with a single chip that has wifi and Bluetooth on it, its liable to suffer that issue. Manufacturers do this to cut down on costs. When they use a seperate chip for wifi and Bluetooth, it hardly suffers from issue or not at all. Most companies now are using the single chip design. we already know, from FCC report, that the new 300 model has the single chip design and it specifically states that wifi/BT can't operate together, so simultaneous mode not needed. Other phones and tablets suffer from same issue. Its dependent on whether the wifi/BT is on the shame chip or sharing the same antennae.

Nothing misleading.
I think alot of people like myself are just making the best of what we have. Asus will not rectify the situation and most of us are outside of return policy, so we just try to live with the problems. Once this tablet breaks (wont be long, im sure.....) then I will either cash in my warranty or sell my replacement online, take my losses and move on.
Its kind of like if you have a bad disease and are trying to move on with your life but someone keeps saying "aww man, really sucks you have XXXX disease huh?"
Thats my 2 cents atleast, but I do share your concerns.

thank you for posting this. its disappointing to see the response. i think asus has little concern for end users.
yes, I'd like to thank Joplin for this as well. I think he did most of us a service, as I did not recceive an official response from Asus yet (Thanks SmartAssPhone for the idea). It confirms what most of us surmise, either you get a great router and repeater or else you are SOL. BT and Wifi are crap as well. Oh well. Glad I picked up the Squaretrade warranty. All I can hope now is that the dock works with the 700 and it works up to par. If not, I'll move on to something different. One of these days one of these companies is going to do us right - with working components, great screen, great brightness, great wifi and bt, and great support. Until then, bah.

No, what I am saying is people should just move on enjoy it while they can and speak with their pockets. Emails (rarely) work on a corporation like this. I could care less and I really shouldn't talk for other people but I am done with Asus. Period.
I will play with my toy until it breaks and then buy a different manufacture.
What's probably going through his head is: well, its just one customer there is 6 billion more. Idk.

I get it, you're frustrated (I have some issues with the tablet myself) but no need to attack OP. Had the email response from Asus been positive like "free upgrade to TF700" members would be lined up to thank his ass. So is your issue with the OP for sending and posting the email or with the response from ASUS?
Think about it.
I'll throw in my two cents, but its just my opinion. I have owned devices from a handful of different Android manufactures: Motorola, Samsung, Asus, etc and with each device there was ALWAYS problems and each manufacturer got scolded just as Asus is now. I learned a while ago that it really IS NOT THAT BAD, and what happens here is a PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUE. Sounds a bit far fetched, I know, but trust me (the guy with less than 10 posts), unless your device is completely fubared you are just making it out to be worse than it really is.
What happens is, you get a new shiney toy that is extremely over priced. You feel guilt for spending so much money, but you justify it to yourself. You get on the forums to read up about your newly aquired device, only to see all types of complains from other users. You get to thinking, maybe I made a mistake, maybe spending this much money on this device was a mistake. You franticly look through your device to see if you have the same problem. If you find that your device shares a similar problem, then you are eager to justify to yourself that you did in fact make a mistake. ZOMG Wifi is only getting 30mbs down, while your ISP doesn't even provide 15mbs down.
But look, there are some really messed up devices out there and sometimes these types of posts are warranted. But, just remember, nothing is perfect, and regardless of what you might think the Prime is an amazing device.

From getting into quite a few debates on this subject about several devices, I have come to the conclusion (opinion) that there are two types of people involved in these debates.
1) Your average working guy. he either saves up quite a bit of money or is buying a tool (not a toy) that he plans to make good use of.
and
2) People with a large amount of disposable income who buy something like the Prime as a toy or a status symbol.
In the first case we have someone who expects to receive the value they paid for, either because it cost them a relatively large amount, or because they bought a tool to serve a purpose or purposes.
When it doesn't work these people feel they have not gotten good value for their money or are unhappy that the tool they purchased does not do what it was advertised to do. In either case they feel defrauded. In most cases they want the tool and would like to see the manufacturer actually FIX the problem so the product works as advertised.
In the second case you have, IMO, people with more dollars than sense who bought a toy or a status symbol and they don't really care if it performs to the advertised spec or not as long as they can play with it a bit (till the next new shiney comes out, pretty much like children) or so they can hold it up to their friends for the "cool factor" (actual functionality not required).
Personally, I hold the second case as at least partially responsible for the problem. If more customers (I am NOT some brainless consumer, thankyouverymuch!) stood up and *****ed at the manufacturer until the manufacturer made things right, the manufacturer would be less likely to release shoddy merchandise in the future. And if retailers had to (by law) eat the cost of returns they'd be less likely to carry merchandise from manufacturers with shoddy reputations.
So you can either be a sheeple (i.e. consumer) and continue to get fleeced by slipshod design/manufacturing/testing processes from shoddy companies, or you can stand up and let 'em know this behavior is unacceptable.
And as for you whiney Prime (or insert device here for other XDA forums) fanbois/fangurls, the thread title is pretty clear. If this type of thread triggers your angst or vapours or whatever your issue is, stay out.
cool story bro...
now be gone from the prime forums.. enough bad wifi threads here. go wine on apple forums.

Well I was told to go elsewhere to complain about Asus and the problems I am having with the $680 64Gb prime I bought. So since Diamondback is getting tired of closing threads and deleting posts, I decided on starting a thread were people who need or want to vent can come and vent. And to be fair if you have good things to say about Asus or your Prime please share it here.
As I have tried to say before I like my Prime but am getting tired of the problems that have not been fixed or pop up after an update is released..
I think the gps dongle, while a nice gesture was a misstep for Asus. I would have just taken that on the chin. The hardware/software problems that have not been resolved are far worse. I don't give a s- about gps. Again, nice move on their part, but the dongle does me zero good if the damn thing crashes and freezes. I'll take the wifi issues, it's not that bad. Just give me a functional f'n unit that doesn't run slower than my ibm 286. \rant
There is a class action suit going on. I was actually contacted today by one of the lawyers doing it. You can email [email protected] and tell him you want to be apart of it.
I miss the complaint thread. At least there was the hope that Asus would actually read their own thread, which ended up not being the case.
Better hurry up, this one will probably closed to.
Bout to pack bags from XDA with all of this crap. Its a shame.

its the same lawsuit but its not going anywhere really. The case against Asus isnt strong. Its likely to get thrown out before it even really begins. Hence the reason no official filing has even been done yet. This is just something someone "Wants" to bring against asus. Nothing thats actually happening or going on yet.

Absolutely true.
Asus took the easy way out by sending us a 4 dollar piece of plastic and wire, instead of working on the actual issues.
Since i see demandarin posting in this thread, so much for your update prediction. This is getting totally ridiculous. , and Asus seems fine with it.I have bought so much Asus stuff over the years, i will be rethinking that, after the prime fiasco,

That's really your personal opinion on the matter. How it unfolds.. I guess we'll have to just wait and see (we won't find out until few yrs later anyways). Btw, what do you mean by no "official" filing?

This is not correct, the papers were filed over two months ago, the case is strong and will move forward in good time. ASuS as already been to two informal hearing at the various law firms involved when they were in CA. And as stated in previous post, you can let the team know that you'd like to be a part if they need anymore actual users of this product to appear in court. I've been watching mr. demandarin for quite some time and I'm sorry to say, but I feel he is either privileged by ASUS or just a tireless fan boy. Nothing wrong with enjoying a product and company that as serviced you to your satisfaction, but most of us that have kept quite for some time have followed long and tedious arguments that involved this individual. I give credit where credit is due but do not idolize any company, person, device or anything else so I can be a little more unbiased when assessing a situation. If you are unhappy with a product, this is the place to seek help, and if you can get a actual rep to listen, good for you! If you can't, then it's time to take legal action and get louder so that others are protected from having the same treatment as you. So by all means, follow the previous posters advice, seek out legal action. It will be funny to see how many fans will have their hand's out for the settlement money when it is awarded. Mark my words.
Thanks
I am glad to see that this tread is getting used. I also want to thank all who posted here as I have learned more about what is going on and what people are looking for. I have learned that I am not the only one who wants a stable working Prime over a GPS dongle.
I also would like to know if anyone has tried to use a Huawei E369 Datacard with their Prime. I have read that the Huawei 17xx was working but would like to buy the newest one out that will work so it will last at least 5 years before it becomes outdated.
I've noticed as of late that asus has stfu about everything. I realize that Gary was sick, but "official posts" are becoming fewer and farther between. They are going into defense mode. They know they are sol to fix the issues without having to put out a full recall which is a huge embarrassment and going to cost them an arm and a leg, plus street cred. It's getting to end game folks. They better be brewing a software miracle, or an overall solution. I think a lawsuit has legs with the horrible performance, Dongle be damned.
I would think a class action lawsuit has a foothold. There is absolutely no way that Asus did not know about the wifi and GPS issues when they launched. They got caught up in the "iPad killer" hype and wanted to get them out by Christmas. The lack of advertising by Asus and the retail establishment is icing on the cake.
Funny thing is that I picked up a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for my birthday last week and it is snappier than my Prime (especially when browsing and installing from the Play store)
The lack of updates is disconcerting as well. Perhaps there are no further firmware/software fixes for this device.
It is simply a small blip on the Android Tablet radar that will go down in history as a complete and utter failure.

There has been a ton of discussion about this just today, problem is it keeps getting shut down, either by reported posts, or, over zealous mods, either way, the ends the same
The mysterious , unreleased firmware should be telling everybody something, the og transformer has had the update to .24 for quite sometime, the prime testers have had it for at least 2 weeks or more, one in particular gave today as a release date, even though some of those testers are reporting good results, I'm not buying it. If it was ready for prime time it would have dropped. It seems like I have new issues pop up every day, or the same issues manifesting in different ways
I have multiple issues with prime, i am going to ask Asus for a refund, probably more than ask, and go with something else, other tegra 3 tablets available, and the A700 and thrive are getting rave reviews, They certainly can't be worse than the Prime, and i doubt they will go backwards with no explanation like the prime.Asus is going to lose my business for sure
I have 2 different PM's to both Asus_usa and Gary key, for 2 and a half days now, so far no response yet, for dedicated forum support, thats unacceptable.

opps... didnt see someone posted the link to the filing. lol But If anything comes from it remains to be seen..
All I want is the browser sped up and I would be perfectly happy. Gary mentioned that there would be an upgrade to browsing in the new firmware but after this much time it leads you to think that it must be a hardware issue. Although Asus has always been outed by other sources before they give out any real information.
I bought a top of the line Android Tablet and I swear my girlfriends Kindle browses the internet faster.
It is also odd to see that new post the other day about the Asus Nexus Tablet. It is hard to believe that they would be able to meet Demand or Expectations after all of the Prime problems.
Yea I am getting tired closing all your threads....
What's so hard about posting in existing threads?
I understand that you want answers, I want them too, but making new threads each day complaning about the issues won't get you any answers...
Gary doesn't answer in threads, so maybe the situation will change with the new guy - Asus_USA - but until then please use the existing threads.
