Is there a difference between the Netflix app supplied by B&N and the Netflix app from the market? For some reason it seems like the video quality isn't as good since I switched over to CM7. It's good, but doesn't seem to pop as much as it used to.
The one that comes with the B&N software allows HD playback.

I noticed this too. I think the quality was better before the update that made it so we had to use WIFI to even watch it. Hopefully there will be another update soon so we can use it over 3G again.
Even before the upgrade it was same video quality

Hey everyone just noticed that the recent update to the popular VPlayer has made it so it now supports the Atrix. This is definitely one of my favorite media players

I just downloaded and tried. Video looks pretty good but everything is playing back in slow motion, including audio, when playing an mp4.

I was using Vplayer too, it was ok, but recently I tried 'MoboPlayer'. If you haven't tryed it yet you really shoud IMHO, it's really great, the only player I use now.
Below is a link to the 'MoboPlayer' file for the Atrix.

Ive tried most of the ICS leaks and saw that youtube actually does 720p. Anyone notice this? I actually took my wifes stock rezound and put it next to my ics and found the video quality is very much superior on the ICS version.
In saying that, is it possible to get that on A GB rom? Or is it not possible ?
And im talking about the youtube app, not from browser.

ics 720p youtube
Just curious, how do you know ics youtube supports 720p. Because I'm on ics and my youtupe player still just shows (hq) ?
I always assumed that the GB player did 720p also since my HD icon/switch would always be lit up. I'm running ICS now and it's pretty nice but I don't use youtube enough to notice a change in quality.
ICS YouTube is superior in almost every way. Their normal (Non HD) setting is HQ (High Quality) on GB. Then when you click HD, the video will play in 720p (If supported). Dope.
Edit: ICS ROMs that are 4.0.1 will not say HD. It will say HQ, but still plays 720p when applied. ICS 4.0.3 has the "HD" icon instead of "HQ."

Ahh ha, that's why I don't see it,cause I'm on 4.01

Anyone try vlc beta yet?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Yeah, just installed it. It's not working for me. I get a loading screen and then it FCs.
Mine loads to the page saying this is beta and not stable, followed by a crash. Woot
I'm on cm7 nightlies... Not sure which one anymore

I looked at the website and it says for tegra 2 devices you need to be on ICS. maybe that's why it's crashing for you guys since you are still on cm7
not yet. What does it do?
I'm on CM9 and I've tried it. It's neat, it plays all of the file types I would need it to. It looks nice as well. I'd still prefer to use PowerAMP for music though. I wish it had some kind of streaming/remote functionality so that I didn't have to have 2 or 3 VLC apps on my phone. Other than that, sure, it's great for videos. Don't really need it for music.
On stock Gingerbread and it opens and immediately force closes
on the atrix it opens and does nothing.
Whats the best video player for android that plays most of the codecs?

mx player from the market. its free and even turns the backlight of the cap buttons off once you start watching a video....which is huge for the amaze b/c of the light bleed problem
Dice
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.a
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.trial
Rockplayer and its not even really that close
It plays EVERYTHING

+1 on mx video player, supports every format and handles software and hardware acceleration. Not.to mention native dual core optimization.
Mx player
MX player only suports Native supported formats(MKV,AVI,MP4) with HW video acceleration.
Others formats are supported by SW Mode.
Diceplayer supports HW video accel. on any formats with H.264/MPEG-4 codecs.
im choosing between dice and mobo

I use vplayer on both my Acer a500 tablet and my amaze. Plays my mkv's really well.
$sudo make me a sandwich
QQPlayer
Chuck Norris can but Walker Texas Ranger can't.
Tried them all. Three months ago I would have said mx was king, but now dice is. Plays everything well. On device or over the network.

why dice? i tried it out per your comment and its pretty hardcore riddled with ads, i didnt see a paid version.
though its network capabilities were definitely noticeable.
im still geared towards mx as far as compatability and fluidity.

LoL. Don't we all hate ads... Get ad blocker if that helps or get paid version
Here is link -> Paid Version.
If you have movie files that are really big, MX Player cant handle it for some reason, be it local or over the network. It is so so so so laggy. And its pointless converting (main reason being size. 720p/1080p files are BIG) everything you download just so you can watch on your mobile when there is no computer near by. So i found two solutions to this, either use plex or dice. And YES MX Player is a solid player no doubt, but for the reasons above, i prefer dice.
Im feelin mobo thanks for the feedback from everybody..
