Problem with backup on CWM 5.0.2.7 - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hello to all!
I have installed via ROM Manager the latest CWM recovery 5.0.2.7...
I have noticed that when I make back-ups, it doesn't take back up of /sd-ext and passes this step every time.
I have a 512MB partition for using S2E on CM7 if it does matter.
Is this a problem of crappy latest version of cwm or something's else?
In sd-ext are the applications on my partition?
Thank you a lot!

I am also having this problem. I've tried re-partitioning my SD card using 5.0.2.7 and no luck getting it to mount either.
Any help with this would be great!

I 've solved myself the problem by flashing CWM 5.0.2.0 via ROM Manager. I chose "Optimus one (Old BB)" and this flashed the bug-free recovery.
Now back up works like a charm!

Haha, That's exactly what I did.
I'm back up and running already on CM7 nightly #24.

hey i also tried to backup my o1
but then it automatically restart and now stuck at lg logo won't boot what do i do now plz help ?

[Q] brocken nandroid backup...

for months everything was quit well with my SGS2. Ich flashed a lot (CM7, CM9, ...) and bevor every new version i have done a nandroid backup via CWM.
Yesterday the backup stopped in the middle of the data partition (yes, i have waited very long to be sure it was not just a big file). I bootet the phone and tried again. Same result. Different file but approximately the same position.
I think it could possibly be a issue with the filesystem.... Bute how could i fix it? Or are there other possibilities?
thx and bye, Jens

Rom manager is not 100% compatible wit sgs2, will not work for everybody. If you can boot in downloade mode flash stock ics rom through odin, then root with cf root kernel.

As i explained, the problem occurs also if i am using the recovery mode. And if it freezes in the data partition i don´t think it would be solvable flashing a new ROM.... Maybe i try to wipe the data partition. or should i format it? Is there a difference?
regards, Jens
formating the data partition solved the problem!

X10 mini (E10) bootlooping after Rom flash

Hello guys,
I've got an X10mini (E10) (second hand but should not branded)
I'm actually stucked in a bootloop. It happened after I tried flashing the miniCM7 ROM with CWM.
I've tried the wipe data/factory reset frome CWM but nothing happened
I've tried the recovery option from my previous backup
Nothing
I've tried reflashing the Stock Rom (found in one of Xda-developers thread)
And I still got a bootloop (with the Sony Ericson logo)
Could anyone help me? =)

Why don't you try a repair with SEUS or PC Companion, that will get you back to original.
You said you did wipe data/factory reset, but did you wipe cache and dalvick-cache too (second one in advanced menu in CWM), because they're filled with useless junk from your old ROM, causing many errors.

You don't have much choice i suppose, i'll give you the download link in a pm
Just download it, put it in the firmwares subfolder where flashtool is installed and flash it to your phone, it will take a while because it flashes everything (kernel and rom), but i hope it will help you

I saw your thread.
I also have an x10 Mini and got stuck in a bootloop (colors swishing around on screen). I rooted, installed xrecovery - what shows up in the screen is cwm recovery v 5,0,2,8. I unlocked the boot loader, flashed this Kernel using flash tool (an older version): U20_nAa-14_2.6.29.6-nAa-14.ftf I tried to downloand nAa 11 but 14 kept coming up, so I put that in the firmware file along with the stock Kernel. I forgot to install the drivers, but the flash tool said it was successful. After disconnecting and starting the phone "Ana" words not the symbol came up and the boot loop began. Alternatively, on start up, I can get into cwm recovery. I didn't save the rom or google app zip on my sd card as I assumed I could that after flashing the Kernel, but the bootloop makes impossible
My goal is to install Android Fire 2.3.
I would really appreciate any guidance.

I don't know, apparently it worked fine when you connected it to your pc...
Maybe you could pull all your files off the sd-card to your pc, boot into cwm and format the sd-card (in mounts and storage), then reboot into the rom.
If that's all successful, put the files back on your sd-card.

What would happen if I select "apply update from sd card". This is the second option under CWM recovery.
Should I restore from Nanadroid. i s this necessary?
Could partitioning the sd card help? Thanks again!

The 'Apply Update.zip' does exactly the same thing as the 'Install zip from sd-card', but the first option only works for zip-files named 'update.zip' in the root of your sd-card, the second option will let you browse the sd-card and select a zip-file with any name. The second option is the one you use to install your ROM.
Restoring from nandroid, just fills your internal phone-memory with the old stuff you had in there, it won't affect your sd-card, other than that it reads the nandroid from that sd-card.
Your sd-card needs to be formatted with the fat-filesystem to work properly, so partitioning or not makes not much of a difference, only that the available space for your stuff (music, photo's, etc.) is less because the other partitions take up space too.
If you can flash your ROM in CWM from sd-card I don't really see any problem with your sd-card.
worked like a charm. many thanks!

S2 stucked in boot after flash

Yo guys,
I got a S2 I-9100 and I flashed the new Siyah Kernel onto it via Heimdall. The Problem is that if i boot it, the Samsung logo and the Siyah logo appears but afterwards the screen turns black.
Its propably not turned off cos I can't restart it without removing the battery.
Download and Recovery still works. I tried to use the wipe data/factory reset, but that didn't worked.. actually nothing happened.
Also tried to flash the Original Kernel (KF3) but the Phone gets stucked in boot on the Samsung logo..
Would be nice if someone could help me

You may have a problem with rom not supporting your kernel. Get formatted system, cache, data and put dorimanx latest kernel onto your phone via recovery. From this point you should be able to flash any CM rom you can get. If it still persist, go for odin and lastest Samsung Official

flashed wrong CWM

Hello
I've accidentally flashed a wrong cwm-recovery (meant for some other phone)
After the installation I've rebooted into recovery and it booted the one I already had (that's when I understood it's the wrong one)
Then I've tried to reboot back to my rom but it got stuck on the rom's loading screen
Tried to flash a new rom after using gs2RomWipe
Tried to restore from a nandroid backup
all of them gave the same result.. stuck on the loading screen
Now to my question...
If I flash a stock Rom via Odin.. will it be enough? will I be able to reroot and use my phone normally again?
Or is there an easier way maybe?
i did the same today..
all the time bootloop..
flashing same rom that i was using did not helped..
flashing some other rom helped but cant call cause phone dont see simcard..
flashing some other roms like cyanogenmod also stuck my on bootloop..
I am pretty sure you have to flash via odin.
Update...
I've flashed a stock rom via Odin but it went into a bootloop
when I've entered recovery it said E:failed to mount efs (invalid argument)
so far I've found no way to make the phone work
please help

still nothing...
and it usually takes 1-2 mins max for me
also doesn't explain why stock from odin wont work
It seems to me that I need to somehow fix the efs folder but no idea how to do that
almost all the guides I've seen about that requires the rom to work and use root explorer
the others wasn't clear enough or just not related
according to the shell commands my efs folder is empty
copying the efs folder I have on my sdcard doesn't help because it's not there after reboot
I have a tar.gz as well but not sure how to use it
can I flash the .tar via odin? or some other solution with adb/shell?
or do you think it has nothing to do with my problem?
anyone have any idea how to help me???
I've tried many different ways but my device just wont make it past the loading screen of the rom (doesn't matter which one)
I really have no idea what can cause this problem
thought that flashing stock rom via Odin should fix it but it doesn't help
I've tried some methods I've seen to fix efs problems but so far nothing helped
I'm really desperate at the moment :\
download mode and flash the cwm kernel via Odin should work.

OK.....just a quick thing......Odin flashing a normal single file stock firmware *may* not be the solution as it just overwrites what is already there during the flash. I will provide a link to a three part firmware that wipes the old as it flashes.....this essentially flashes the firmware onto 'pristine' memory partitions....it *might* help......
Here's the link.....
http://www.mediafire.com/?1z5ao5b6r594x45
Search for @Hopper8s Odin troubleshooting guide for instructions on how to flash it.....
Good luck.....
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM

Huawei(s) have locked bootladers... Which means custom recoveries (cwm, twrp..) are next to impossible to do/use, which means no backups to save you when $h¡+ happens, which also means working ROMs are virtually nonexistent... Sorry bro.. Might be time to exchange/trade in/return..
