I have a calendar app that I would like to make default (not the android calendar).
How can I make this happen? This new app (Pocket Informant) does not force the choice between apps. Yet, neither the android calendar or Pocket Informant is listed as the default in Manage>Applications. (Clear Defaults is grayed out for both apps)
What's missing here? Can I force PI to become the default?
Default for what?
I believe there are no files associated with calendars. If you hear two notifications simply put the default app to silence an let the other make the work.
I don't use the default app but use two other (pimlical and business calendar) without problems.
In my case, CalendarSnooze is the app I use to have more ability with reminders. However, the one app I want to use does not come up when I hit 'edit'.
For instance, if I have Android Cal, and Business Cal, I can hit edit and choose between the two with the option of making one the default. Pocket informant is not on the list, but I would like to make it the default.
Is there a way to do that?

A plain n simple SMS filter app that helps you out in sorting SMSes in different folders automatically... it has options like creating rules for either contacts or some text in message body.
it also gives you option to specify what to do with the message i.e. copy/move/delete.
you can also specify rules to run automatically whenever a message arrives, automatic run will clean only delete rules specified.

I'm new to Android and have two questions about this thing:
1. My home network uses static ips, pretty much everything else in the world uses dynamic. Constantly switching my settings is beyond aggravating (what idiot thought it would be a good idea to set ip info on a MOBILE and WIRELESS device on a per-adapter basis instead of per connection?). Is there any way I can make this damn thing auto-switch? Just about every other WiFi device I own can.
2. I have more than one g-mail account, and when putting something in my calender, etc it seems to just add it to whatever account it wants. Is there any way to choose which account to add it to, or just make it sync certain items with one account?
Thanks

I want a messaging app that combines all conversations with a contact into one thread the way Windows Phone does.
I do not want to have to remember what application the conversation came form, I should be able to access one messaging app and see the complete contact history.
Google now has Huddles (G+), Gtalk, Voice, and SMS that all have an application and thread. We need one app to bring all of these conversations together the way that Windows Phone has done.
Does anything like this exist?

Hey guys,
This may be a stupid question, but I installed a MIUI theme named WP7 Dark and it auto-enabled a proxy by default, which I didn't realize until using the gmail app and watching h t t p : / / mobejoh popup before my emails loaded. All of my emails were loaded in English, but other parts of the app switched to Chinese.
Do you think this proxy was solely meant to provide a Chinese translation for content, or could it be something more sinister? Do you think I may have had personal emails stolen, or do you think Gmail's https connection kept them safe (and was the reason why they didn't get translated with everything else)?
I also opened the text messaging app but didn't select a message - could anything else have been affected or taken?
Thanks.

Sorry, the app picker falls several light years short for me in two specific fields - messaging and calling. If I select "always" in one of those cases this selection gets applied across all my contacts. Sorry, that's just daft.
I'll give you an example: I have Zoiper, Skype and WhatsApp installed on my phone. Now when I send somebody a message, I want to use WA for those as have it, Skype for those as have it and be able to select a preference for those cases where somebody has both. Also, if my preference is Skype, but person is not logged in, it should be smart enough to then go WA. If I am roaming or my data connection is disabled for other reasons, it should use SMS. It's called a Smartphone by Jove! Currently I feel like I am in the 70s. the device is that daft.
Similar rules apply for calls.
Oh and also I want to be able to make this choice individually for every contact, either rule based, as outlined above, or just on my personal whim. And I want to be able to override said choice on a case-by-case basis, or permanently, again based on my personal whim. Double tapping in order to avoid making an idiotic and not easily reset general setting is a kludge at best.
For a sec, I was wondering what the heck app picker was.
Yeah, it probably needs to be updated to a more convenient and smarter way. I wonder how the less advanced users get through processes like that. Seriously, if I were an 80 year old grandpa, I would not know how to manage the app picker for sure.
