I have been using rsd lite 5.3.1 to flash my droid x2. However I just downloaded rsd lite 5.6 for my wife's bionic. Now I noticed I can not open 5.3.1 anymore only rsd lite 5.6 Will this version be ok for my droid x2 or will I have to remove it and re download my old one? Thanks in advance!
5.6 will be fine, no worries.

Use the 1.83 custom sbf in the dev forums that is a custom 1.83 that has the unlock sbf and preinstall root already built into the sbf. I think there's a link to it in the edible pudding thread

You did something wrong during the SBF process (of course). You have to make sure that your phone was in RSD mode (which it now is in) and use RSD Lite (on windows) or SBF_flash (linux and mac) to flash the SBF onto the phone.
Also, MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE IS DULLY CHARGED. I got an error the first time I SBF'd cuz I didn't do that. Had to get a new battery and then flash.
Hope this helped.

Try downloading the file with Firefox or chrome and extract the .gz file with 7zip
Also there is a 2.3.3 and a 2.2.2 sbf file, try them both

I was trying to install DKZ's CM10 rom onto my Droid X2, but something went wrong. As it stands, I can get into the stock Android Recovery screen, but I can't get into the BSR, or boot properly (it hangs at the MOTO screen). I also can't seem to get RSD Lite to SBF my phone.
I have a MicroSD reader, so if there's any way to get a signed zip that the stock Android Recovery screen will install, that might unbrick it. Is this possible? Is there any other way to unbrick it?
phone needs to be in starting rsd lite support
to flash .sbf with rsd lite or ezSBF
have you tried wiping cache and or data in android recovery?

have you read HowTo: Perform a SBF ("factory restore") of your Motorola Droid X2

I've tried to use the RSD protocol (I can start RSD on the phone side, and I have RSD Lite on my laptop), but RSD Lite just says there are errors for every SBF I've tried.

Yep. I've done that once (I was upgrading from CM7 to CM10).
did you try ezSBF (Linux solution to your Windows/RSD lite problems)
what rsd lite errors?
did you compare .sbf checksums
these are .sbfs that you have used before?
moto drivers are installed?
factory usb data cable
different usb port
different pc

ezSBF (or, more precisely, sbf_flash) succeeded in flashing my Droid X2 to 2.3.4. It's booting now.
I'll try installing CM10 from scratch now. Correctly.
is phone running cm10 now?
