Hi, I own a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830L, my carrier is Movistar Argentina. I bought this phone originally with Android 2.1 (apparently, the firmware was S5830 OKPUFN), which I upgraded just this morning to Android 2.3.4 using Samsung Kies. Point is ever since the upgrade I haven't been able to access my carrier's 3G network (Wi-Fi works fine, by the way).
After said upgrade, I followed this post's (movilzone.org/manuales/como-actualizar-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-a-android-2-3-4-gingerbread-en-espana-argentina-eeuu/) instructions to install S5830 DDKQ5, which went by smoothly, although I still can't use the 3G service.
Is there any way to fix this?, or at least go back to the firmware it came with?
Any help will be appreciated,
Julian.
Try to "Reset To Default" From This Window....and make sure that green circle thingy is selected...

Did you check your Apn settings? You could also try flashing another baseband, that's what I have to do to get the 3g working on mine.
Pres dialpad *#*#4636#*#* n u see phone information n select radio select wcdma/gsm auto...

Same problem!!!
Hello,
Even i have the same problem on my Galaxy S2 with Airtel service provider.
Note: I tried changing SIM of another Airtel number and found that it was showing name only once!!!! The SIM which i had replaced had no data connection plan.
kryptoner and dayanand, do you always set network to WCDMA? or auto mode? You guys using any jkay supported theme and jkay deluxe settings?
Apparently this bug was fixed in latest deluxe settings 12.1.
If you switch to GSM only mode, carrier name will probably appear only once
Hello droidphile,
Network was always set to Auto and i didnt use any jkay supported themes.
But recently I upgraded FW 2.3.6 and problem is solved!!
Hey guys is there a way to turn off 3G and run on Edge only? When I go into settings >> Wireless and network >> Mobile Networks it only shows "Use packet data" why isnt there a setting to turn off 3G and run on Edge?

It doesn't have network mode in the list.
choose gsm only in the network mode. You can also use extended controls and have a widget to switch between edge and 3g

I'm Indonesian, i have trouble about my galaxy pocket often lost signal after firmware upgrade.
now can only Edge but it is rarely because the signal is often lost, before upgrading the firmware to 3G and HSDPA signals.
I've tried various firmware and ROM but it does not solve the problem.
so the signal can be in 3G and HSDPA but in a state of Emergency Calls Only.
Sorry my language is a mess.
Thanks.
It might be a hardware problem. Bring it to your local service center and see if they can help. Hardware problems are beyond the help of xda's hacking and development section.
are you sure this trouble in hardware ?
you have another solution ?
thanks for your answer :good:
If you tried many ROMs, or Kernels, and it still won't work, it will most likely be a hardware problem.
Try flashing a few more Kernels and ROMs, it is your best bet.
Good Luck,
Ronny

I am from Poland and my region didnt got update yet. I dont know if it got MM at all.
Edit.: Solved by tried other DBT region rom.
Any suggestions?
Mccs and mncs are in the csc firmware with their correct apns. If you don't have any of those the apn won't be set up automatically. Try adding an apn manually. Settings/Mobile networks/Access Point Names. Use the APN "Internet" otherwise ask your isp.
Hi miszko77
Can u me give the rom link which solved your problem?
Hello. I have an unlocked ATT version of S9 plus.
I flashed unlocked firmware to it but after reading so many pie thread, I'm beginning to question if I flashed the phone correctly.
Its been receiving OTA update regularly and its on ARL1.
I THINK I read somewhere in XDA that if you are on truly unlocked firmware, phone must read xaa/xaa/xaa. However, mine shows xaa/xaa/att? (currently on mintsim service which uses tmobile network I believe)
Can someone tell me if I did anything wrong as I have limited knowledge of android phones and I would like to correct it before pie update.
Thanks in advance.
You should be all good. The last one is showing the original software provider version that never changes from flashing carrier firmwares or unlocked firmwares. Basically it shows what the phone was born as I guess is a way you could look at it.
Bought mine directly from Samsung and mine also says that.
