Make sure your speakers not on mute by accident. Go into settings then Sound then volumes. If they all up n still no sound, then try a reboot.

already tried:S im trying to factory reset as we speak

Has sound every came out the speakers before? Or it just seemed to stop for no reason?

no i just opened the box and i havent heard a sound from the speakers

[Q] Sound/Mic Messed up

So I've been running Unnamed 2.21 and the latest Entropy's 3/7 DD for it and it's been rock solid for months without issue. This morning, my alarm went off and woke me up. Tonight, the sound no longer works! Or rather, it works only in specific scenarios. If I plug in earbuds or headphones into the jack, I can hear everything and the mic picks up sound (plugged == working). If I unplug the earbuds, the phone produces no sound and doesn't pick up anything with the microphone. However, if I make a call, and then press speaker, then I will get sound and can talk. And if I take it off speaker, it will work normally, but only for that call. After ending the call, the sound and microphone stop working.
Things I've tried so far:
Factory Reset/Data Wipe
Turned off phone, removed battery
Checked for dirt/debris in mic or speaker locations
This is the closest thread I've found to my issue, but it didn't get very far: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520359&highlight=sound+only+works+when+plugged
Any ideas what could have suddenly brought this on? During this morning and this evening I made zero changes (to my knowledge) to the phone. Very frustrating problem, obviously...
Sometimes when you flash stuff some folder permissions get messed up. Try fixing permissions in recovery.
Does your volume button work?
Have you checked your sound settings?
Have you tried resetting your default sounds?
I tried that. No dice. Volume button works. Sound settings checked for idiocy. They're fine, nothing is silent. I suspect something wonky happened or is going on with the headphone jack (phone thinks headphones are plugged in, I think this would explain the weird behavior). I've tried this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix But sadly it didn't seem to help me. I'll give a go to cleaning the headphone jack.
update: ok it looks like the headphone jack is indeed the culprit. if i pull up the music app, plug in headphones, i can hear it. i unplug the headphones, the app pauses the sound, i hit play, it plays and i can hear sound from the phone speaker. however, right now it is only lasting a little while before i imagine it detects the headphones again and the sound cuts. this is pretty repeatable.

[Q] HTC one speaker blown

My top right speaker keeps blowing. It sounds like text message alerts, phone calls, and the alarm blow the speaker. I have been through 7 phones from bestbuy all the same exact issue. I try to keep the sound settings down but when I'm in call I have to turn the phone all the way up to hear who I'm talking to and dont remember to always turn the sound back down before I get another message or phone call and it blows the speaker. It will just crackle and first and then completely not work. Bestbuy is blaming me for it blowing but everything is stock settings and everything... Anyone else having an issue?
Do you have any volume or sound apps installed? There is quite a bit of power going to those speakers as-is, so any equalizers, or volume booster could possibly cause a short.
I had my volume at about 85% today listening to music, and not even the slightest crackle occurred.

[Q] Xperia z2 sound routing issues

Hi,
I have the weird problem, my phone was submerged in fresh water and the screen was damaged, after replacing the screen the phone works fine but there is another problem. The phone does not know where to route the sound expect the default values.
When I plug the earphones in it it still plays the music through the speaker unless I force the sound re-route with the application named SoundAbout.
Same goes for bluetooth and switching phone calls from earpiece to speaker and the other way around.
It figures that the phone sound system works fine because once I force some rout with the SoundAbout application it works well but the phone does not know itself where to route the sound. It's not a great solution to force the sound routing every time I get into or out of my car and every time I plug in headphones.
The phone runs Android 4.4.4 and I tried having it factory reset and repaired by sony pc companion.
I don't know it it's related but the max speakers volume became to be very low as opposite to what it was before.
I don't have warranty anymore because it was water damaged so this is not a solution.
Does anyone know which component is responsible for the sound routing in this phone?
Maybe I should replace some hardware? Or some software patch can help?
Thanks.

Quick question!

Unfortunately one of my speakers is busted and doesnt work at all, but makes an annoying popping sound when playing any audio. I am not interested in replacing it but I wonder if there is a way to disable it completely and force all sound through the bottom speaker (now it plays only one sound channel, since the phone is stereo) . I looked around but didnt find anything.
Phone all rooted etc.

earpiece grille not producing any sound

As title suggest, no sound come out from the earpiece grille/upper speaker. So whenever someone calling me, I can't hear them and have to resort to use speaker or plugging earphone.
Attached picture are my spec, and "play music by receiver" test that I have done.
Same problem here.
I was using V11.0.4.0.QJWEUXM (EEA), changed to V11.0.10.0.QJWMIXM and still have the same problem.
From time to time speaker (earpice) work ok.
I made a test with an app Speaker test from Playstore and it works, so i think its a software problem.
I think that the volume go to low because i can here something but at a volume to low.
Any sugestion what to do next?
