Unfortunately one of my speakers is busted and doesnt work at all, but makes an annoying popping sound when playing any audio. I am not interested in replacing it but I wonder if there is a way to disable it completely and force all sound through the bottom speaker (now it plays only one sound channel, since the phone is stereo) . I looked around but didnt find anything.
Phone all rooted etc.

Hi Folks,
Seemed to have been lucky and avoided most of the main prime issues that have been reported. However one I have noticed and not spotted anywhere else is when I play youtube videos, iplayer and so on I get a faint, tiny sound distortion through headphones (it's like static from a cb radio). I cant hear when sound it coming from the media but when it goes quiet for a moment I can hear the distortion and it's quite distracting.
I did play an app game and I'm not sure if I could hear it on there and I have tried a couple of different headphone so it's not that.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Felix
i just got my prime and i cant seam to get sound from the speaker any one got the same problem?
Make sure your speakers not on mute by accident. Go into settings then Sound then volumes. If they all up n still no sound, then try a reboot.
already tried:S im trying to factory reset as we speak
Has sound every came out the speakers before? Or it just seemed to stop for no reason?
no i just opened the box and i havent heard a sound from the speakers
My mom has the HTC radar. Ever since she used the camera to take some pictures & video, all audio outputs have a ton of static. It seems to happen as soon as any audio is playing. For instance, when the unlock sound plays (the split second drip sound), there's static on the loud speaker for a good 5 seconds. Also, when I call the phone, there's a static noise on the normal speaker. It kind of feels like a software issue, because the noise is happening as soon as audio is 'on', even if the audio file does not have any sound. Any ideas?
Maybe try a hard reset? You will lose all installed apps and have to set up the phone again, Failing that maybe send it in for a replacement as it could be hardware, hope you can solve it without any hassle.
Hard reset did not work. I did end up getting it replaced at the store, and so far the problem has not returned to the new phone.
The audio output on the Radar is pretty clean, must of been a fault
My top right speaker keeps blowing. It sounds like text message alerts, phone calls, and the alarm blow the speaker. I have been through 7 phones from bestbuy all the same exact issue. I try to keep the sound settings down but when I'm in call I have to turn the phone all the way up to hear who I'm talking to and dont remember to always turn the sound back down before I get another message or phone call and it blows the speaker. It will just crackle and first and then completely not work. Bestbuy is blaming me for it blowing but everything is stock settings and everything... Anyone else having an issue?
Do you have any volume or sound apps installed? There is quite a bit of power going to those speakers as-is, so any equalizers, or volume booster could possibly cause a short.
I had my volume at about 85% today listening to music, and not even the slightest crackle occurred.
So I got the Kate version of this phone for a couple of months and I really like it. But today, it stopped playing sound from the back speaker when using media apps like Spotify and Youtube. If I plug in my headphones, it works just fine though.
Here is the fun part: If I start a song on spotify, go into settings>sound and change the volume for the notification with the slider, the sound of the notification is played from the speaker as the volume is adjusted. When the sound has played, it resumes playing the sound from spotify. But when the song ends (and another one begins) or I skip to the next song, the sound is gone again. As I am running custom rom(Aosp Extended), I'd thought it was just some weird bug. I did a complete reflash of another rom, Pure Nexus, but I still have the same problem. What could be causing this!? I have never experienced this with any other phone. At first I thought the speaker was broken, but it does seem to work. I still get notification and ringtone sound if I get a text or somebody calls me.

No one has found a solution to this?
