So I just got my electrify a few days back and I am loving it more and more every day. I was wondering what everyone else's take on the phone is. Pros and cons??

I got mine the day they came out and I love it. I had the HTC desire before and it is way better. I've not had an issues with the phone since I got it in September. I have compared it to my friends Droid bionic and it holds up well compared to it. I really can't tell any difference in performance.
Is yours hand android version 2.3.4 or 2.3.5? If its 2.3.4 I would suggest you root and unlock it and jump on jokers cm9...great rom. If yours is 2.3.5 there is a locked electrify version of rockos rom that is real good.

Hi all.
Im gonna to ask razr users, especially who moved from photon.
I'm looking for a kind of possible upgrade to razr, but not even sure if I need it.
Photon is very good device, but I want to know some more opinions. Also, where better to buy razr xt910 talking about updates?
Thanks
And is there possibility of getting razr maxx GSM?
Since battery is not quick switch like photon.

***UPDATE 6/26/2012***
Ok, not all the info that I got before was 100% correct. It looks like RAZR / MAXX is unlocked only for Global(GSM) use which is outside of USA. The Tmobile and ATT sims are not fully working as of right now.
We have couple amazing Devs which are working to resolve this issue.
Please PM me if you want me to update the OP.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the Bionic forum people found a way to activate disabled feature of couple 4g verizon phones to be able to use it on GSM networks.
Can someone test it please?

Amazing...no one here has any interest in this? maybe you should have posted in the development section. This is great news if it gets working on the razr.
I posted this earlier...as far as I know it's still a work in progress but very cool nonetheless.

Welp the Bionic can't do it for sure. Doesn't have a GSM radio... at all.

Running ICS leak fully rooted!
Actually the Bionic does have a GSM radio.
The Razr, 4, Bionic all have the same Qualcomm global radio and a separate LTE radio.
The only thing preventing the Razr, Droid 4 or Bionic from connecting to GSM is the firmware.
The Droid 4 is scheduled for GSM upgrade.

I stand corrected. Well played.

I was under the impression that we just needed the unlock code. Once we have it from say...att, then we put the sim in,enter the code and good to go...maybe its not that easy but on YouTube it looks pretty close lol.
As far as I know it's not that easy due to the fact that the GSM modem itself is disabled. Unless your talking about roaming onto the LTE network. Though ATT uses different frequencies.

I was really surprised that people did not accept this news well. I was extremely happy to hear that we can use our phones with GSM providers since I am planing to travel soon.

Yeah. No thought about lte if I had to use GSM. I feel dumb as that's the entire point of the maxx being called a global phone lol. There's a video and it is really easy to do.

I think people will highly appreciate if you provide more detailed information, because there should be some differences in this hack between RAZR and Bionic.

Thank you I will follow it later on.

Okay so, here's my predicament..I'm currently using an Atrix 2 with a regular sized SIM card and wanted to test this out on a busted VZW Razr I got from work (there's a huge crack in the screen and it was just collecting dust). If I went into an AT&T store and bought a micro-SIM, would it work?
The only reason I'm confused is because all I know that AT&T uses the micro-SIMs for is the iPad; I don't know if the structure of the SIM card changes to accomodate just data, or if voice will be able to be transmitted as well.
I just bought the Atrix 2 today
Could someone tell me why there is little to no support for ics on the Atrix 2? I thought the hardware was pretty much the same as the Atrix 4G which is the basis for most of the work done on the photon.

The atrix 2 actually has very different hardware. Atrix 1 has tegra 2, and atrix 2 has a TI Omap processor.

Wow thanks! Last time I read anything on the Atrix 2 was before it came out and I swear they said it was going to have the same tegra 2 as the first Atrix and the photon. Do you know anything about this processor? Most of the devs on the Atrix 2 forum are first timers and progress for ics is horribly slow. One of the slowest of any current high end popular phone (that I've noticed). Calling and texting seem to be the only thing keeping it in pre alpha stage.

Ok I just found out what's holding them back. They can't seem to figure out how to unlock the bootloader. Once that's unlocked roms should start flying
Sent from my I9300 using XDA
Same processor as Bionic, RAZR, and Droid 4. Moto tend to go for consistent hardware platforms across multiple carriers and form factors.
Those bootloaders are a *****.

Yea I've noticed lol.
I have one more question then I'll finish off this thread.
They said the calling and SMS not working on cm9 is due to not having an ics radio. I don't understand why the radio would be the issue. Every device I have right now running ics is using a gingerbread radio and the calling and SMS has always worked from the beginning without a ics radio.

This is the closest thing the Atrix 2 has to an ics build. Its a port from the cdma Droid 3. Its extremely early with only 10 pages. From what I've gathered they can't seem to get the rom to work with their GSM radio. I know this isn't the right place to be discussing this considering this is not the atrix 2 and nowhere near related to the Atrix 2 but out of all the phones I've had, the devs and users on the photon seem to be the most knowledgeable. We need someone with knowledge of this sorta of thing to help get this phone going. What steps should they go through to convert the cdma rom for their GSM device? I haven't had sleep in two days so I can't seem to word this right lol so please if you have the time could someone who knows anything about this sorta thing take a look. Just read the first 2 pages. The other 8 pages are just random people asking if its working yet lol.
They seem to have given up for the most part and decided to just wait for a leak of ics for the device which according to Motorola is during the same quarter as the photon. I honestly believe they could have it up and going without the leak. Joker did it with the Atrix and the photon with no Motorola ics support so I know they can do it too for the Atrix 2

hi guys not long ago a was a member of this forum.. hell i still check more than my atrix 2 forum .....
i sold my atrix 4g and got the atrix 2
now i bought an motorola droid razr for me and i got my sister an atrix hd (she has a atrix 4g atm)//
i would like to know which one should i choose??... i can trick her into any of them .. user rattings for droid razr are higher and i bet support on xda is better where atrix hd is better overall in hardware where support on xda is lower// which should be my phone ?
also i will be confirming later on if the droid razr (clean esn) can be activated on a gsm network outside the US like Orange or Claro in Dominican Republic
I'll go with the razr, an unlockeable bootloader is by far much better
sent from the gray stuff inside my skull
sorry for coming off so rude , i have nothing but respect for all devs that work for our devices
I'll go for the atrix hd, I am Dominican and I can tell you that american cdma phones are useless here, (in terms of cellular data)

First, thanks for all of the help in rooting my Droid x2. Where I ended up was with 2.3.4 and the latest official update 45.621.10.MB810.Verizon.en.US. A few questions:
1. Should I update to 2.3.5?
2. If so, how do I do that? I understand that I may lose my root, which is concerning considering the trouble I had gaining it in the first place. (I have the update downloaded to my phone.)
Thank you in advance,

Very little reason to update the Droid X2 to 2.3.5, there is no 2.3.5 for the Droid X

I purchased this phone from eBay and understood I was getting an x2. I only paid about $50, but did I get snickered on the model?
As a PS, I refreshed the firmware to be able to root. Is it possible I used the wrong firmware?
Snickered
Go to Settings/About Phone/Model number. It will say Droid X2 if it is one. $50 for a Droid X is too too much; for a Droid X2 you could have done better, I have been buying them for about $25.
The Droid X and the Droid X2 are getting dated. I rooted mine and tried all the roms (Liberty, Molten, Eclipse 2.3.5, CM7, CM10) All have their ups and downs. Eclipse was the best for me. I sold about 10 X2 phones on Ebay with CM10. It was a headache, flashed most of them back to Eclipse 2.3.5. Android 4.x (CM9, CM10) is problematic; Netflix doesn't work, video camera doesn't work, won't go into deep sleep. Eclipse is a solid rom.
Suggest if you were suppose to get a X2 and they gave you an X, complain to Ebay and get your money back. Go to Boost Mobile, port your number to get a new Moto G for FREE with a $40 Unlimited subscription for one month. After a month, decide if Boost is for you, if not, flash it to Verizon and used it on Page Plus or Straight Talk. FYI- Verizon's Moto G will not work on Page Plus.
I liked my Droid X2 but it was a lot of trouble getting it to where I liked it.

It is not possible to install wrong firmware.
If the phone has a camera button, it is a droid X, the X2 has no camera button.
Otherwise they are identical on the outside.
The droid x2 never really lived up to it's potential, software was always lacking, stock and custom.
