Hi! I've be en reading this forum forma a while and i've got top say that you're all doing a great Job. Thanks to you guys i've turned a very flawed folio into a great ics tablet. Im really grateful.
My question is, why does it take so long to connect to wifi networks? Does it happen to all of us? Or is my tablet broken? Is it a driver problem or is it hardware?
wifi connection
Which ROM do you use?
I have the ICS 4.0.3 by Derartem and it connect to my home wifi fast.

Looks like I get the honour of posting the first problem.
So I have an unlocked and unbranded Mini Pro and can connect it without problem to my home wifi connection. The problem is that after the phone has been asleep for a while, the wifi connection is dropped and will not reconnect.
The only way to make the phone reconnect is to turn off wifi and then turn it on again. At this point it connects straight away and remains connected until it has been asleep for a while and so on.
Looking at the SE official forums, this problem affects both the Mini and Mini Pro.
It may just be a bug and we will have to wait for a fix but any clues would be welcome as it would be nice if the phone were to default to wifi (just like my Desire) when in the house.

There's advanced menu in wifi settings where you can change the delay or remove it.
But that still does not solve the problem completely, phone would randomly disconnect/reconnect sometimes. I believe I saw this problem as well on 1.6 Hero roms, and with Android 2.1 Hero has no problems staying on wifi for days.
At this moment we can see how painfully slow and shortsighted SE are, and their hardware engineers are brilliant, while their software is ages old and simply broken.
I think they should have never released mini with 1.6 Android, and if their developers are so slow, their only chance would be to release all sources to community so we can fix it ourselves.

I too thought I had heard about this problem on other phones before (but was not 100% sure). So maybe this is not an SE problem rather an Android one
But the good news is that SE have stated that the Mini and Pro will both get an upgrade to 2.1 this year (but don't hold your breath) so perhaps the answer as you say is to wait.
After all, for now, with a 3GB data package from T-Mobile and a wife who hasn't a clue what Youtube is this is not a big deal but a fix would still be nice.
I found the Wi-Fi of my X10 mini pro ( wifi sleep policy = never ) fails into sleep & disabled after the screen off for a while, even failed to re-scan network manually unless re-activate the Wi-Fi.

Hi.
I'm very new in this aspect so please be gentle
Did You heard about this device from NavRoad. I have version with 3g - price was good (i hope) and the spec. isnt bad.
But i have a problem - WiFi modul isnt working as it should. It has very smal range and sometimes it can breake the connection to router.(if the device is to far from router for example- 5-7m not including walls or something like this.
Probably it is problem with bad soft id device(now it;s 4.1.1), and this new upgrade from NavRoad(no one knows when this will be) should correct this problem, but for now I would like to ask all You what this could be? Is there any soft that could repair my problem with wifi or this is hardware problem?
I didnt find nothing what would be help to me on this problem.
Full spec. availible on NavRoad site. Just look for Nexo 3g....
PS: Sorry form my bad english
Thanks
No reply for me?
No one knows?
Probably nobody knows this device.
I can't establish connection via Cisco AnyConnect because there isn't drivers TunTap.
HELLO PLZ HELP ME OUT..
After 3 days of research over internet i finally can tell that i have successfully rooted my SAMSUNG S 3(i9300) ver (4.1.1) but still i am not able to find any strong development on ADHOC enabler of galaxy s3.
I am not able to connect My rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 jelly bean with WiFi shared via Adhoc method from my laptop (Vista Sp-2) or can say that with Ad-hoc network. I tried to root my newly purchased S3 and installed WIFI adhoc enabler and also replaced the wpa_supplicant, But still adhoc network are not working.
I followed this method but no success on Samsung Galaxy (i-93000 V 4.1 Jelly bean )
Please help me out its very urgent as i am not having Wifi connection I am using USB 3g Internet
No solution that I know of...
There are some work arounds posted for WiFi tethering, but I have not seen a solution that provides ad-hoc wifi support for Galaxy S III or Nexus 7. Since these devices have been around for some time now, this is either not a important problem (perhaps work arounds make it less of a problem) or a very hard problem, or even worse... both.
I would like to connect to the Brookstone Rover 2.0 for example, but cannot unless I can solve the ad-hoc WiFi issue. The workarounds are not of any help so far.
I have not jumped into a deep technical review of the issue so I cannot comment. I was hoping someone already had this worked out or was working on it. If not then I will start looking more closely at the problem.
Still no response
Plz help me out still i am not lucky enough

Sorry for reviving a very old thread but I too have a s3 (i747m with JB 4.1.1 stock rooted) that I've tried getting adhoc working. I've also tried everything the OP mentioned with no luck. I have a laptop (running WinXP) in my company truck that's has a 24/7 cell data connection. With my iphone5 I can connect using adhoc no problem but the s3 will not even detect the ssid. I've been reading for the last 3 days and haven't found a solution to this. I'm hoping someone has finally released some sort of patch. Failing that I'm due for a computer upgrade soon so hopefully I'll get win7
Hello there devs!
I'm having a Wi-Fi issue with my 3 year old GT-I9300.It seems that my phone ain't connecting to Wi-Fi.But my other devices like my Lumia and the HP Slate tablet connects to my Wi-Fi hotspot that's hosted in my PC
(I don't have a Wireless modem).I've did a factory reset,installed a new ROM,and pretty much everything else :/
It would be nice if you guys helped me...

Nope..I've tried it.Might be a hardware issue.
Hi! I bought HU for my bmw e46 and unfortunately my excitement about it soured a bit, when I realised that my wifi wouldn't turn on at all... I wasn't worried that much because I was gonna use 3g huawei modem anyway to have independent internet for the unit. Unfortunately it doesn't work either, because by instructions you need to turn wifi on as well... I had impression that it was software issue and tried looking for solution. I came across PPP widget, but as there is no way to get connection I cannot access play store and install through apk doesn't work. I then decided to give it malaysk rom with hope that this would solve my Issue, but it didn't. Its all the same. This must be a hardware issue with wifi adapter by my assumptions, but why dongle is not working when it has nothing to do with wifi? Does anyone know how to get 3g working? I just want my 3g and I dont think I'll need wifi that much. Also does anyone have stock 5.1.1 rom for eonon? I tried backing up, but it went wrong and I cannot reverse it in case Id need to send it back. Thanks for help in advance!
