[MOD] Change your system sounds on ICS - TouchPad Themes and Apps

Before I start, I'm not sure if this is know or whatever, but I wanted to contribute it anyway. So yeah.
There's a vid on the bottom showing the results.
So I ran into a really cool mod for our TPs. I found that I was able to change all the system sounds on the ICS rom. I was able to replace the default system sounds with custom sounds of my own. I ran into this idea when I was replacing the system sounds on my laptop's OS (Windows 7). And I thought, hey, why I couldn’t do this with my TP. So I began my research here and various places in search of custom sounds that others had used. I found none mainly because I cut my search short. Anyway, I replace several SS (system sounds) with really cool, IMO, sound effects and synthesize speech. For instance, my lock and Unlock system sounds. My "Lock" sound, this is when you push the power button to allow the TP to sleep of shutdown, has been switched from a "Click" sound effect to a synthesize speech saying "Good bye." The same goes for my "Unlock" sound, which is now "Welcome." I also switch the "tick" sound with a single water drop sound effect and “Notification sound” to a speech synthesis saying “Your Attention is required”. You’ll find all of them attached to this thread. AND IF YOU HAVE ANY CUSTOM SOUND EFFECTS PLEASE POST THEM HERE!! I'D LOVE TO HEAR THEM!!!
It's really neat IMO. Anyway, you can do this too and here's how:
Disclaimer: I will not be responsible for any harm or damage that you may cause to your device. Proceed at YOUR OWN RISK.
Requirements: Must have rooted device.
Things you'll need before you start:
•Desired sound effects. You can use the one I supplied if you like or you can use your very own.
•An audio converter. There are tons of free audio converters out there. TONS. I used Switch Sound File Converter. It’s free and incredibly fast.
•A root explorer app. It must be able to access, read, and write system files. Root Explorer is perfect.
• BACK UP YOUR DEVICE. You don’t have too but I don’t want to hear crap.
Installation:
1. Download your desired sound effects.
2. Convert, if not already, these sound effects to an “.ogg” file. With Switch Sound File Converter, simply drag and drop selected files into the “add files” box of the program. Then, on the bottom left of the window there is an “Output Format” field. Select .ogg in that box.
Explanation: We must convert to an .ogg file because it is the only kind of file android recognizes in the system folders.
3. Compile all newly converted sound effects into a folder and name it whatever you like. Something you can remember. Now drag and drop it to the root of your device. We just need it to be somewhere where we can access it quickly.
So at this point you should have the folder that contains all the converted sound effects in a folder in the root of your device.
4. Now with your *Root* File Explorer, navigate to the folder containing all the converted .ogg files. Choose one to begin with. I’ll switch up my “Lock” system sound with a speech synthesis saying “Good bye”
5. Select and long hold the desired sound effect.
6. Select the “Copy” option
7. Now navigate to the system folder. You’re going to have to push back several times to get to that folder. This is the path: system>media>audio>ui
8. Now paste the file to this folder.
9. Okay. Now we must rename that file we just pasted to the one we want to replace. In this instance we’ll be replacing the “Lock” file.
• To avoid troubleshooting, rename the file to “Lock1.ogg.” Do not forget that “1.” I did this because I didn’t know how the ROM would react to two files in the system with the same name. I basically did it to be safe.
• And Spell it out exactly how the original file is spelt.
So now we have the original file and the pasted file. Do whatever you desire to the original file. Delete it. Copy it to back it up. I don’t care. Just remove it from this folder.
10. Now rename the file currently named “Lock1.ogg” to just “Lock.ogg” without the “1.”
11. Now we have to set permisions. To do that, press and hold the system sound file that we just renamed. Select "Permissions." Make sure that the only ones that are check are the entire "Read" column and in the "Write" column the user should be check marked. It should look like an upside down L.
Explanation: We cannot simply use a file with a random name because the Android OS only recognizes these specific tittles or descriptions. Trust me; I have tried many times in the “notifications” folder. I thought it was just a drag and drop thing. Boy was I wrong.
12. Now test it by pushing the power button. If you don’t hear the custom sound effect, try doing a hotboot and try again.
In addition, you can use these sound effects on your PC. Of course you'd have to use the original files and not the converted ones. But they work all the same. I've replaced most of my PC system sounds with these.
Again, Please post your custom sound effects if you have any! I'd really like to hear all of them.
RESULTS

Thanks. I was searching for how to set the permissions. It worked perfectly on my Galaxy S on AOKP ICS rom

[Q] How can you change bootanimation sound?

I was able to change boot animation right after root by using the same methods as I used on my DINC. But I want to replace the boot sound as well. I have tried renaiming to thunderfinal.mp3, android_audio.mp3, and (VZW_) something .mp3 to no avail. Any suggestions or success?

The boot sound is the FinalThunder.mp3
If you're rooted w/stock, the file is under /system/customize/resource
If you've flashed Adrynalyne's rom, it's under /system/media
you have to rename it finalthunder.mp3.old. It worked on mine
you guys are reading his question wrong. he doesnt want to get rid of thundersound he wants to add his own music or sound.
Right, so name it finalthunder, make sure it's an mp3, and adb push it to whichever location applies to him.
Sent from my HTC Incredible using Tapatalk
has that worked for you?
I did finalthunder.mp3 and named the renamed the old file to finalthunder.old before i even posted this and still i got nothing. Does it have a specific quality or codec used?
How to Turn the ThunderBolt's Boot Sound into a Ringtone/Alarm/Notification:
1) Grab the FinalThunder.mp3 file and place it on your /sdcard.
2) Install Ringdroid or a similar ringtone maker app from the Market.
3) Find "FinalThunder" in Ringdroid and open it.
4) Select only the parts of the sound you want to keep (if you want to keep the entire sound make sure Start = 0.0 seconds and End = 8.42 seconds) and save it as a Notification sound with whatever name you want it to have in the Settings menu.
This file now is modified for notification purposes and can be found in /sdcard/media/audio/notifications/<WhateverYouNamed>.mp3.
You can choose right then and there to make it your default notification sound or you can choose it later from the Settings->Sound->Notification Sound menu.
Enjoy!
Not what I was asking but good info though. I want to replace the boot sound with something custom.

[HOW TO]Adding and changing sounds on boot animations

Intro:
Another boot animation fix comin at ya. A TON of people want to know how to add and change sounds on custom boot animations on the Droid X2 and like all of them I could not find enough info on the world wide web that I could send a link to them to help out. SO after a little bit of messing around and some help from WugFresh I have the answer.
The apps:
First you will need a couple apps. You will need absolute system, root explorer and file converter. You can get them from the android market, just do a search for them. They're not free but if you know anything about root you probably already have root explorer and maybe even absolute system, but you will need file converter by ice cold apps.
The programs:
Again if you know anything or a decent amount about root you probably already have these programs but if not then download them. You will need 7Zip (preferably 7Zip) because as far as I know it is one of the only if not the only program that can zip files correctly WITHOUT compression which is mandatory because if there is any compression applied to the bootanimatiom.zip file OT WILL NOT WORK! You will also need either GVIM or Editor++ in order to properly edit the desc.txt file in the bootanimation.zip which we all know is what makes the boot animation work and if that is not configured correctly then, well, you're gonna be throwing things.
The method:
1.
Find the boot animation you want and download it using absolute system or from whatever source, whether it be from a forum thread or whatever. If you download it from a source other than absolute system you have to make sure before applying it you have to place it on the root of your sd card and make sure it is not named bootanimation.zip if there are other boot animations on your sd card because if they are named the same, obviously, they will overwrite eachother so name them however you want.
2.
Find the sound you want to use, it can be any sound file as long as it's short enough (or not) to play completely on boot. Download it, place it in your sd card and open the file converter app. Use file converter to find the file and once you've found and selected it select to convert it to .ogg. It MUST be converted to .ogg or it WILL NOT work. Once it is converted find the converted version ("sound".ogg or "whatever you named it".ogg) and use root explorer to move it to /sytem/media and leave it there for now.
3.
Plug your phone in to your computer, make sure USB debugging is enabled, and put your phone into USB mass storage mode once your phone is connected. Open up the files from your sd card on your computer and find the boot animation .zip you are going to change and move it to your computer. Next open up 7Zip and find the boot animation .zip file you just moved. Select the file and extract it to wherever you want to on your computer. Once you have extracted the .zip files with 7Zip go to the extracted files on your computer.
Note: (This next part will save the edited version as the orginal version so if you want to make a backup before you edit it just rename however you want or copy it into a separate folder named desc backup.)
4.
Right click on the extracted desc.txt file from the boot animation amd right click on it. Once you right click you will see an option that says either "edit with Editor++" or "edit with VIM" depending on which program you decided on (I prefer Editor++). Select the option and it will open up the desc.txt in your editor of choice. There may be a lost of guidelines in the desc.txt file for editing parts of the desc.txt but this is usually only in stock boot animations. Decide where you want the sound file to play and comment in the sound file you want to use by adding a line under the part you choose it to play at by typing "s 'sound'.ogg" DO NOT type what I wrote verbatim, the name 'sound' is just to give an example. Here is an example of a desc.txt file that has been edited to have sound:
(The red part is the sound line)
# 540 wide, 960 tall 10 frames per second
540 960 10
# p means we're defining a part
# first number is repeat count, 0 means infinite
# second number is delay in frames before performing the next part
# so if you are playing 15 frames a second 15 would be... one second
# string defines the directory to load files from
# files will be loaded in order but names don't matter
# s defines a sound for a part
# sounds will be loaded from /system/media
# oggs with loop points will loop automatically
# only one sound will play at a time
# timing is driven by the part, not the sounds
# if you want no sound, leave blank
# droid
p 1 0 01_droid
s Fusion.ogg
# fusion
p 1 0 02_fusion
# mobility
p 1 0 03_mobility
# loop
p 0 0 04_loop[/SIZE]
Click to collapse
Notice the name of the sound in the desc.txt file is the same as the one I want to use. I hate to sound like I'm trying to make you feel stupid, which I am most definitely not, I just want to make sure this is detailed enough for anyone to follow.
4. Continued:
Once you have commented in the sound line, and you can add as many as you want just make sure you read the guidelines in the example desc.txt file above, save the file and exit your editor.
5. Open 7Zip and find the extracted boot animation files again with the edited desc.txt file. Make sure that the only files showing up in 7Zip are the boot animation files you extracted including the original desc.txt file that was edited and only that edited one, not the backup if you made one. In the menu bar on the 7Zip program click on "edit" and click on "select all" in the drop down menu that pops up. Next click "file" in the menu bar, move your cursor to the 7Zip option and when the drop down menu pops up click on "add to archive..." Then when the window pops up just change the name to whatever you want, select "zip" in the Archive format drop down menu, select "store" in the compression level drop down menu (you must select store or the boot animation .zip file you are creating will be compressed and as I mentioned above it won't work with compression) and then click "OK" to create the .zip file. Once it is created go ahead and move it onto the root of your sd card.
6. Unplug your phone from your computer and once the sd card is mounted open up absolute system. Go to boot animations and press menu and selct "boot animation editor." Press menu again and select "import from sd card." Find the boot animation you edited and slect it. Pres menu once it brings up the window with all the .png images and select "import" and when the window pops up prompting you to name the bootanimatiom just name it however you want and select "import." In order for the boot animation you edited to show up in your list of downloaded boot animations in absolute system you must first close absolute system and reopen it, go into boot animation editor again and it should be there. Select your edited boot animation and when it opens up the window with all the .png images press menu and select "desc.txt editor" which will open up the desc.txt file in absolute systems own editor. Scroll down untill you see the "s" line you commented in and press on it, this will open up a small window prompting you to choose the file from either /data/local or /system/media. Selct to choos from /system/media and there will be a list of .ogg files to choose from (if there are more than one you put in there). Select which one you want to play for that line. This is just to make sure the bootanimation.zip is using the right .ogg file and so your phone knows where to play it from on boot. You can change these if you want but you cannot comment lines in or out using absolute system. Once you have finished making changes or confirming the sound files press menu and select "save changes." Once it's done saving the changes press back.
NOTE: THIS NEXT PART IS VERY IMPORTANT AND MUST BE DONE EXACTLY AS I HAVE WRITTEN, IN THE EXACT SAME SEQUENCE I AM GIVING YOU.
7.Sorry for yelling hehe. Once absolute system is done saving the desc.txt file and you have pressed back to re-enter the .png images window in absolute system press home and open up root explorer. In root explorer go to /system/media where you placed your .ogg files and move them again into /system/media/audio/notifications and press home key again. Open absolute system and install the boot animation to /data/local by selecting change install location and selecting "/data/local" and reboot your phone. If the sound does not play, which it should, install the boot animation in BOTH /data/local AND /system/media using absolute system.
You should now have sound along with your boot animation. I hope you all have fun adding crazy sounds to your boot animations. The thanks button is always happy when you press it!
Awesome. The sound always gives me a hard time. Good job on this.

Hello..... Is this method still valid? Does it work with Android 4.0.4?
Kind regards.
will this method work on the Galaxy S4 SGH-M919?
i only want to change the sound,
i already changed the boot animation.
Great thread!!
But,will this work on a Nexus5?
Code:
640 400 30
c 1 30 part0
c 1 0 part1
c 0 0 part2
c 1 30 part3
c 1 0 part4
c 1 0 part5
My desc.txt file is shown like this!!
Where should i add the file name?? What if i insert my .gg file name at the last?
Does this method work for Huawei phones? Someone led me to this post. If so, sound isn't working for me. After every boot the 's name. ogg' tag gets removed. 'Boot animation' is 25 seconds and 'boot sound' is 19 seconds.
I want to play one bootsound throught the entire Bootanimation, please tell me how to do it. I have one sound that i want to play in 11 parts.
Thank you
Pls give me a link for absolute system.Cant find a place to download it?

The directories being listed are referring to SYSTEM directories (hidden from user-land view). Your phone must be rooted (root access) first. I'd suggest you use a 'root file browser' afterwards.
The "Root Browser" application (unsure if its listed on Google Play at this time) is an excellent one to use. Simple and fast interface. Minor annoyance with banner ads (free copy).
Hope that helps you (albeit a late reply). These forums are a gold mine of information!

It sounds as if you're referring to an application (I will Google it after this post) named "absolute system." It piqued my curiosity. You should be able to use adb strictly to push/pull all files onto the Android phone. I understand this thread was made in 2011. I can only assume times were different back then.
However: Why would you need or be required to place the "bootanimation.zip" (stored) and "XXX.ogg" into both the ./system/media and ./data/local directories? Does Android (for some unknown reason) pull two copies for security verification (stab in the dark)?
On this rooted LG K7 (Android 5.1.1): The ./system/media directory appears to be full of all related boot animation data and the latter is void of life; To reiterate: I understand this thread was from 2011 and the Android version was more than likely significantly lower.
If anyone could shine some light on this subject: I'd heavily appreciate it. I'm attempting to add in sound (a converted *.wav into *.ogg file) to the boot animation (no loop; Simply play it once).
Thank you, future poster.
ObliviousEnigma,
At this point, adding bootanimation zip to data/local will no longer be recognized by android 5.0+. Just /System/media.
Also, considering if you want to add sound to it, I noticed that you have an LG phone. It should be easier for you to change it if you are on a stock ROM. you must go into the directory /system/media/audio/ui. And inside you should find the file called PowerOn.ogg. That is what you want to replace if you want to have different sound along with your boot animation. My recommendation, make sure that the audio is atleast 7 seconds long. I tried to experiment past it and it didn't work for me no matter what phone I used.
For others who are still using the droid x2 but with a custom rom (other devices work too), First off, your best bet is to extract the bootanimation zip first. Secondly, if you want the sound to be played at the beginning, add the sound file to the part 0. Leave the sound file the way it is instead of converting it to .ogg, but make sure to rename it to audio.wav. There are 3 things to keep in mind before moving on:
1) the desc.txt is not required to change.
2) it seems that only a 7 second audio can be played. Any others more than 7 seconds will not play.
3) if there are other existing audio wav files inside any folder of the bootanimation (except the one you placed at), delete it.
Thirdly, once you are finished, rezip the file without compression, whatever app that you use to do it (I use the RAR app by Rarlabs). Fourth, drag the bootanimation.zip back into /System/media. If permissions need to be set, make it rwxr-r-. Lastly, reboot your phone to watch the magic happen!
How to add sound in bootanimation now

[Tutorial] Changing your bootanimation for SGH-I777 dummies

Took me hours of reading to figure out something extremely simple. But, hopefully this will save some of the smart people here from having to expend energy belittliing retarded noobs like me.
When I flashed to SHOstock's ICS 2.2.6 I missed the droid animation he had with his GB 1.9.4. So I went searching on how to change it back.
It's pretty simple. All you have to do is.....
1. Get a file explorer with root access. I use ES File Explorer
2. Download any of the custom ROMs in GSII Development
3. Unzip the ROM, open System>media folder. Find the bootanimation zip file and copy that to a folder of your choice on your phone.
4. On your phone, open your file explorer and allow it root folder read/write access
5. Navigate to System>media folder and backup the original bootanimation zip, in case you ever want to replace it.
6. Navigate back to where you put the custom bootanimation zip and copy and replace that zip into the media folder on your phone.
You're done.
If there was audio to the bootanimation it's the same copy and paste process. The .wav file should be located in System>etc. It's named "PowerOn". Once you move that over you may have to change the file permissions to RW--R--R.
To change permissions in ES File Explorer you long press the icon. It'll pull up an "Operations" drop down. Scroll to "Properties". Click "Change". Then make sure User: read/write is checked. Group: read. Other: read Then click ok.
If the sound doesn't work you may have to rename the PowerOn.wav to "PowerOn.ogg"
I'll try and answer any questions you may have but keep in mind i've only had this phone for less than two weeks. I've been lurking and studying on XDA for even less. But i'll do my best.
Remember, before asking questions, searching/reading the forums is your best option. I'm still a total novice but because of this wonderful place i've managed to root my phone, installed several different kernels and themes and flashed two different ROMS
You can also put the bootanimation.zip file in data/local. This way you will preserve your stock bootanimation file.

Hey I'm not sure if this is recommended but I didn't see any instructions specifically for disabling the bootsound. I did find the location of it in this post so I just removed it and my phone stopped making noises when it boot up. I'll report back if any weird issues start happening.

Should be ok. Because if the animation didn't have sound to begin with the .wav file wouldn't be there.

[MOD]OGG Files For Sound Mods

Ok, I do not have much in means to make PayPal Donations, therefore i am going to try to contribute in some small way.
These are files found from ringtone websites and mp3's that i have converted for your enjoyment and customeizing.
Sorry i do not yet know how to make flashable .zip files to flash for convenience, but i will take requests(within reason), meaning i will do some searching, convert the audio files to .ogg, and place them in a zip file for you to unzip then place into the external sd card for use, i have a folder called System sounds on my external sd.
Please give me time as i can only do this Saturday night and some of Sundays.
Please hit thanks, and if you are in a generous mood, or i made a nice compilation you absolutely love, donations to fuel my wide eyed Monster Energy habit are appreciated!....Definately not expected. Any Developers that would like a my time for some sounds, please contact me as you guys are the ones that keep us all rolling custom!!!
I am unsure if you have to be rooted and unlocked for this...but i am.
I use root explorer as it is free and has everything you need to make these changes.
Once you have unzipped the .zip file, and placed the content in a folder on the root of your external sd card...
in root explorer (with Superuser access granted) go to /system/media/audio then you have four choices.
1. alarms
2.notifications
3.ringtones
4.ui
When working in these folders be sure to click the white box near the upper left that says Mount R/W.
in root explorer use parent folder to top screen(no more parent folder, scroll down to storage click on it, then extSdCard click open, find the folder of .ogg files you earlier placed onto your external sd now one at a time or in a group (Menu soft key, multi-select) use the move function.
use parent folder to get back to the begining of your files, again find system/media/audio then either into alarms, notifications, ringtones place the .ogg files you selected to move. after reboot the will appear in you system settings as choosable ringtone/notification/alarm options....Enjoy
Number 4 is slightly more tricky.
In the ui section if you want to use custom sounds you must first Mount R/W then go to file you would like to replace(ex. Power.ogg, PowerOff.ogg,Lock.ogg,Unlock.ogg) long press the item, hit rename. Then after the original file name( ex. Power.ogg) place the following
.bak (ex. Power.ogg.bak) this should create a backup of said item.
next longpress the selected item and choose Move
Use parent folder to the beginning, then find storage / extSdCard and paste to root of external sd. while in extSdCard fine the item you want to use to replace the ui file you just renamed. make sure you rename the file to the exact same name of the item you are replacing
EXAMPLE if using tranformer.ogg you need to rename transformer.ogg to Power.ogg
then use the move function, once again using parent folder to return to the beginning, then system/media/audio/ui , once in the ui folder paste the newly renamed Power.ogg . once you reboot your phone you should now have your custom sound associated with whichever ones you decide to replace.
I take no responsibility for what happens to your device, if you do not feel comfortable, please do not proceed. I am not a n00b when it comes to unlocking the potential of multiple devices, but i am a n00b when it comes to manually changing system files, but i found this to be an easy, very personal modification that is not too overwhealming for someone with a little skill, and the ability to research further than just my guide, before diving in and changing a bunch of system files.
I hope you all can get some enjoyment and personalization out of this and there are too many people that i do not yet know to thank.
I Personally Thank.. AdamOutler for his outstanding work, scrosler of Scott's Roms, beanstown 106 of JellyBeans, icedventimocha the themer, and TeamWin as they are the main threads and insperation since i joined XDA!!!! Much Props!!!!
Remember Changing Sytem Files Could Damage and Even BRICK Your Device.
So Learn, Learn Again. Then When Comfortable.....Enjoy!!!!
Remember to hit thanks if you found this helpful.
Another note, i noticed some roms have different ui settings, so for example in Cleanrom Ace 4.0.5 there is no Power.ogg you can change...but in JellyBeans Build 6 there is a Power.ogg.

in root explorer use parent folder to top screen(no more parent folder, scroll down to storage click on it, then extSdCard click open, find the folder of .ogg files you earlier placed onto your external sd now one at a time or in a group (Menu soft key, multi-select) use the move function.
use parent folder to get back to the begining of your files, again find system/media/audio then either into alarms, notifications, ringtones place the .ogg files you selected to move. after reboot the will appear in you system settings as choosable ringtone/notification/alarm options....Enjoy

Enable Hidden Features on A750FN/DS [Oreo](24.06.19)

Iam not a good thread maker so i will try to write everything as simple as i can.
Few days ago i bought and switched to A7 2018 from A5 2017, which was/is still an excellent phone to me.
On A5 i was on Oreo and on A7 i am and will be still on Oreo. Not planning to test this on Pie, but be my guest and try it on Pie, some stuff should work. Report if it does.
On A5 i made a similar thread to enable some features, but it was much easier to do because i had a CSC folder instead of ODM folder which has some files encrypted and you need them decrypted to proceed. And there is no flashable zip, you will need to do all on your phone, except decrepitng some files which you will need to do on your pc, and then put back and overwrite the same files on your phone and give necessary permissions.
First of all iam not a developer and i dont know anything about developing.
This is just enabling some features that were allready there in the phone through some lines on some files in ODM/OMC folder and some lines implemented in the stock floating_feature.xml file.
Never delete floating_features.xml file from your phones etc folder and dont touch permissions (0644), or your phone wont boot up. You just need to edit them and save.
Iv tested only on stock A750FNXXU1ASA4 OREO, which was only rooted and nothing else was modified.
The features you should get if everything goes right are:
1. Floating messages (option in Advanced features)
2. Record calls in (phone options)
3. Show network speed (option in status bar)
4. Data Usage Notification (option in data usage)
5. Camera Shutter sound on/of (in camera options)
6. ScreenRecord (options accessible from QPannel and Advanced Features)
7. S Bike Mod
8. Places option on keypad
9. Caller ID spam protection (in phone option)
9. LiveMessages in samsung keyboard
10. S PowerPlanning (Device Maintenance/battery)
11. HomeMode(screensaver option)
12. S Pen features( needed if you ever find working AirCommand).
13. In Samsung video options, but in option that apear when you press play on video,
you should see Video Enhancer option. Download Samsung video from Galaxy apps.
14. Multiuser support
15. Dolby Atmos dual speaker (works with speaker not just with earphones)
Anyway...
I f you dont know anything about floating_features.xml or bulid.prop or ODM/OMC folders and editing them, then dont try this beacuse I won't be held accountable if something happens to your phone if you loose your data or go into bootloop! So Dont Forget to Backup your Phone!
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.You have to be ROOTED offcourse and have a file manager like RootExplorer or simillar.
2. Now you need to copy from root of your phone two files from your contry ODM/OMC folder that your phone/SIMcard uses. It must be from your contrys ODM/OMC folder no other ones. The files are cscfeature.xml and cscfeature_network.xml After you decrypt them put them back in your phone and overwrite the ones inside your contry ODM/OMC folder and give permission 0644.
After that open in text editor with your Root Explorer cscfeature.xml file and on the bottom insert the lines that you can see in the attachment, then save and restart the phone.
To decrypt cscfeature.xml files follow this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/decode-encode-omc-files-omc-decoder-t3791471
3. Now open your floating_feature.xml which is located in system/etc folder and just edit/enter on the bottom of the file lines that you can see in the attachment, save and restart the phone. Dont do nothing else with this file just insert the lines then save and restart the phone. If you delete it you will go in to bootloop.
4. Now open your build.prop and on the bottom of the file enter lines that you can see in the attachment, save and restart the phone.
5. Now copy all files in system from the attachment and put them in their corresponding places.
Give perrmission for folder 0755 and 0644 for files.
Thats it!
I hope it works for you like it did for me.
Il try to answer any questions, when i have free time.
And if you all have problems doing this i will make a video tutorial when i have free time.
Does this tutorial applies to a7 2018 with android pie? I mean do I have to decrypt those files? I just want to enable call recording.

Okay upload the file. Will decrypt it if i got some time tomorrow. Easiest way is by using firefds xposed module. Youll see call recording setting under phone section.
So can I enable only call recording without decrypting those files? I've did it on my s8, just copied the csc code into build.prop...it will work on this device too?
Some more features if anybody is interested.
Its for Pie
