Enable Hidden Features on A750FN/DS [Oreo](24.06.19) - Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) Themes, Apps, and Mods

Iam not a good thread maker so i will try to write everything as simple as i can.
Few days ago i bought and switched to A7 2018 from A5 2017, which was/is still an excellent phone to me.
On A5 i was on Oreo and on A7 i am and will be still on Oreo. Not planning to test this on Pie, but be my guest and try it on Pie, some stuff should work. Report if it does.
On A5 i made a similar thread to enable some features, but it was much easier to do because i had a CSC folder instead of ODM folder which has some files encrypted and you need them decrypted to proceed. And there is no flashable zip, you will need to do all on your phone, except decrepitng some files which you will need to do on your pc, and then put back and overwrite the same files on your phone and give necessary permissions.
First of all iam not a developer and i dont know anything about developing.
This is just enabling some features that were allready there in the phone through some lines on some files in ODM/OMC folder and some lines implemented in the stock floating_feature.xml file.
Never delete floating_features.xml file from your phones etc folder and dont touch permissions (0644), or your phone wont boot up. You just need to edit them and save.
Iv tested only on stock A750FNXXU1ASA4 OREO, which was only rooted and nothing else was modified.
The features you should get if everything goes right are:
1. Floating messages (option in Advanced features)
2. Record calls in (phone options)
3. Show network speed (option in status bar)
4. Data Usage Notification (option in data usage)
5. Camera Shutter sound on/of (in camera options)
6. ScreenRecord (options accessible from QPannel and Advanced Features)
7. S Bike Mod
8. Places option on keypad
9. Caller ID spam protection (in phone option)
9. LiveMessages in samsung keyboard
10. S PowerPlanning (Device Maintenance/battery)
11. HomeMode(screensaver option)
12. S Pen features( needed if you ever find working AirCommand).
13. In Samsung video options, but in option that apear when you press play on video,
you should see Video Enhancer option. Download Samsung video from Galaxy apps.
14. Multiuser support
15. Dolby Atmos dual speaker (works with speaker not just with earphones)
Anyway...
I f you dont know anything about floating_features.xml or bulid.prop or ODM/OMC folders and editing them, then dont try this beacuse I won't be held accountable if something happens to your phone if you loose your data or go into bootloop! So Dont Forget to Backup your Phone!
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.You have to be ROOTED offcourse and have a file manager like RootExplorer or simillar.
2. Now you need to copy from root of your phone two files from your contry ODM/OMC folder that your phone/SIMcard uses. It must be from your contrys ODM/OMC folder no other ones. The files are cscfeature.xml and cscfeature_network.xml After you decrypt them put them back in your phone and overwrite the ones inside your contry ODM/OMC folder and give permission 0644.
After that open in text editor with your Root Explorer cscfeature.xml file and on the bottom insert the lines that you can see in the attachment, then save and restart the phone.
To decrypt cscfeature.xml files follow this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/decode-encode-omc-files-omc-decoder-t3791471
3. Now open your floating_feature.xml which is located in system/etc folder and just edit/enter on the bottom of the file lines that you can see in the attachment, save and restart the phone. Dont do nothing else with this file just insert the lines then save and restart the phone. If you delete it you will go in to bootloop.
4. Now open your build.prop and on the bottom of the file enter lines that you can see in the attachment, save and restart the phone.
5. Now copy all files in system from the attachment and put them in their corresponding places.
Give perrmission for folder 0755 and 0644 for files.
Thats it!
I hope it works for you like it did for me.
Il try to answer any questions, when i have free time.
And if you all have problems doing this i will make a video tutorial when i have free time.

Does this tutorial applies to a7 2018 with android pie? I mean do I have to decrypt those files? I just want to enable call recording.

Okay upload the file. Will decrypt it if i got some time tomorrow. Easiest way is by using firefds xposed module. Youll see call recording setting under phone section.

So can I enable only call recording without decrypting those files? I've did it on my s8, just copied the csc code into build.prop...it will work on this device too?

Some more features if anybody is interested.
Its for Pie

This works for Galaxy S10e?

[MOD] Change your system sounds on ICS

Before I start, I'm not sure if this is know or whatever, but I wanted to contribute it anyway. So yeah.
There's a vid on the bottom showing the results.
So I ran into a really cool mod for our TPs. I found that I was able to change all the system sounds on the ICS rom. I was able to replace the default system sounds with custom sounds of my own. I ran into this idea when I was replacing the system sounds on my laptop's OS (Windows 7). And I thought, hey, why I couldn’t do this with my TP. So I began my research here and various places in search of custom sounds that others had used. I found none mainly because I cut my search short. Anyway, I replace several SS (system sounds) with really cool, IMO, sound effects and synthesize speech. For instance, my lock and Unlock system sounds. My "Lock" sound, this is when you push the power button to allow the TP to sleep of shutdown, has been switched from a "Click" sound effect to a synthesize speech saying "Good bye." The same goes for my "Unlock" sound, which is now "Welcome." I also switch the "tick" sound with a single water drop sound effect and “Notification sound” to a speech synthesis saying “Your Attention is required”. You’ll find all of them attached to this thread. AND IF YOU HAVE ANY CUSTOM SOUND EFFECTS PLEASE POST THEM HERE!! I'D LOVE TO HEAR THEM!!!
It's really neat IMO. Anyway, you can do this too and here's how:
Disclaimer: I will not be responsible for any harm or damage that you may cause to your device. Proceed at YOUR OWN RISK.
Requirements: Must have rooted device.
Things you'll need before you start:
•Desired sound effects. You can use the one I supplied if you like or you can use your very own.
•An audio converter. There are tons of free audio converters out there. TONS. I used Switch Sound File Converter. It’s free and incredibly fast.
•A root explorer app. It must be able to access, read, and write system files. Root Explorer is perfect.
• BACK UP YOUR DEVICE. You don’t have too but I don’t want to hear crap.
Installation:
1. Download your desired sound effects.
2. Convert, if not already, these sound effects to an “.ogg” file. With Switch Sound File Converter, simply drag and drop selected files into the “add files” box of the program. Then, on the bottom left of the window there is an “Output Format” field. Select .ogg in that box.
Explanation: We must convert to an .ogg file because it is the only kind of file android recognizes in the system folders.
3. Compile all newly converted sound effects into a folder and name it whatever you like. Something you can remember. Now drag and drop it to the root of your device. We just need it to be somewhere where we can access it quickly.
So at this point you should have the folder that contains all the converted sound effects in a folder in the root of your device.
4. Now with your *Root* File Explorer, navigate to the folder containing all the converted .ogg files. Choose one to begin with. I’ll switch up my “Lock” system sound with a speech synthesis saying “Good bye”
5. Select and long hold the desired sound effect.
6. Select the “Copy” option
7. Now navigate to the system folder. You’re going to have to push back several times to get to that folder. This is the path: system>media>audio>ui
8. Now paste the file to this folder.
9. Okay. Now we must rename that file we just pasted to the one we want to replace. In this instance we’ll be replacing the “Lock” file.
• To avoid troubleshooting, rename the file to “Lock1.ogg.” Do not forget that “1.” I did this because I didn’t know how the ROM would react to two files in the system with the same name. I basically did it to be safe.
• And Spell it out exactly how the original file is spelt.
So now we have the original file and the pasted file. Do whatever you desire to the original file. Delete it. Copy it to back it up. I don’t care. Just remove it from this folder.
10. Now rename the file currently named “Lock1.ogg” to just “Lock.ogg” without the “1.”
11. Now we have to set permisions. To do that, press and hold the system sound file that we just renamed. Select "Permissions." Make sure that the only ones that are check are the entire "Read" column and in the "Write" column the user should be check marked. It should look like an upside down L.
Explanation: We cannot simply use a file with a random name because the Android OS only recognizes these specific tittles or descriptions. Trust me; I have tried many times in the “notifications” folder. I thought it was just a drag and drop thing. Boy was I wrong.
12. Now test it by pushing the power button. If you don’t hear the custom sound effect, try doing a hotboot and try again.
In addition, you can use these sound effects on your PC. Of course you'd have to use the original files and not the converted ones. But they work all the same. I've replaced most of my PC system sounds with these.
Again, Please post your custom sound effects if you have any! I'd really like to hear all of them.
RESULTS
Thanks. I was searching for how to set the permissions. It worked perfectly on my Galaxy S on AOKP ICS rom

S5 ROM for Galaxy Mega 6.3 i9200 [KK] [4.4.2] [XXUDNK1]

Hi All !!
I was using this ROM for quite a while, thought i'll share my work with you all.
This is for i9200, But i am not sure if it would work for i9205.
Its based of stock i9200 i9200XXUDNK1 KitKat 4.4.2 from sammobile.com.
Its a mixture of Odexed and deodexed.
==============================================
The S5 features it has are,
Systemui of S5
Note 4 launcher (actually S5 launcher, i just themes the page navigator icons to look like Note 4)
Lockscreen of Note4
Settings of S5
Note 4 weather
Some S5 apps like Magazine, Group play, Group Camcoder, S5 gallery, S5 music, S5 contacts and dialer, SPlanner, SVoice, Voice Recorder, etc etc..
===============================================
Oops! lot of Note 4 mentioned above, but mainly its all got from S5.
Currently i am trying to search forums on how to make an Update.zip Rom so that you can all just flash it.
All i have now is just a backup of my Rom which i made using PhilzTouch 6.48
Please see the screen shots. attached.
Internet connection is slow.. so please gimme time to upload.
Will post the links soon on mediafire.
ROM Download Link & steps to flash
ROM Links and Steps to flash.
Modem and Boot.img included in the download links.
Two methods:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
First Method
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
==================================================================================
1: Download the Backup named "2015-01-16.07.49.38_KOT49H.I9200XXUDNK1.7z" from Mediafire using the link below.
Link = https://www.mediafire.com/folder/qrtmbymle0c0d/Bevin_ROMs
The file has an extension 7z.
Extract the folder inside the zip file using 7Zip to your desktop.
Make sure the contents are extracted to a folder with the name " 2015-01-16.07.49.38_KOT49H.I9200XXUDNK1 " on your desktop
There are totally 12 files inside " 2015-01-16.07.49.38_KOT49H.I9200XXUDNK1 " folder.
2: Download PhilzTouch recovery version 6.48 and flash it
Reboot to the Phiztouch recovery and go to philzsettings-> uncheck md5 verification (thanks to Fredo2000)
3: Backup your current ROM (full backup - if in case anythin goes wrong) to sdcard or external sdcard (sdcard1).
4: Reboot to your current rom and connect your phone to the computer.
5: Now from your computer... Go to Computer->locate your phone-> go to memory card->clockwordmod folder->backup folder->paste here (the folder " 2015-01-16.07.49.38_KOT49H.I9200XXUDNK1 ) which was extracted on your desktop.
6: Reboot phone to Philz Recovery.
Click Wipe Factory Reset -> Clean to install a new ROM.
Click Backup and Restore - Restore from sdcard1
you should see the rom you pasted from your desktop here.
Restore 2015-01-16.07.49.38_KOT49H.I9200XXUDNK1 ROM
7: Reboot phone
8: Phone will boot with the new Lollipop Screen.
9: Wait for a minute till everythin looks fine and then go to settings add wifi networks and add account - Google
10: All the S5 customization will be intact in this method.
==================================================================================
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Second Method
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
===================================================================================
1: Download the CWM Flashable zip ROM named " S5ROMforMEGAi9200_17Jan2014.zip " from the below link
Link : https://www.mediafire.com/folder/qrtmbymle0c0d/Bevin_ROMs
2: Reboot to PhilzTouch Recovery
3: Wipe Factory Reset Phone -> clean to install a New ROM
4: Install Zip -> install from sdcard/sdcard1 -> S5ROMforMEGAi9200_17Jan2014.zip and flash.
5: Reboot to recovery again.
6: Re-root system using Philz touch miscellaneous settings.
7: setup wizard comes up and proceed till you get to the home screen.
8: You will find the navigation bar. Do not disable it in build.prop instead follow step 9.
9: Install Xposd Framework apk (search it and download it from google), open the app, install framework. reboot.
10: Install GravityBox KK apk from the download section of xposd app. Install it. Enable it in modules. Restart
11: go to gravitybox app reduce the size of the navbar to like 0 or 1 .. prefered is 0 using the slider.
12 That will get rid of the navigation bar (this is important for the dialer) and wil stil have the overflow menu enabled everywhere.
13: download AppSettings from xposed app under download section and install it. enable it in the modules section. reboot.
14: open App settings app and look for contacts.
15: change the dpi from 0 to 320 and save (this is important for the phone dialer to become full screen)
16: thats pretty much you have to do. everythin else is present already in the ROM.
17: to explore the various features.. long press the notification toggle icons.. it ll open a new menu which is not present in the settings.
18: using xposd app you can download even floating windows to make windows float like note 4.
===================================================================================
Some of the Apps are preloaded as I like it that way. You can uninstall them as you please.
This ROM has no bugs so far, so if you do find bugs - I will be happy to fix them and release another ROM later on.
If you Factory Reset your phone, you might lose certain customizations done on XPosed Framework. (Hence i suggest you not to unless you know what you are doing)
====================================================================================
If something does not work fine related to network bluetooth or Wifi (most unlikely) - Flash XXDNK1 modem.
====================================================================================
:good:
This ROM is stock Samsung ROM i9200XXUDNK1 (latest release of 4.4.2 from samsung) with S5 built in apps.
I use the stock baseband (modem) i9200XXUDNK1 and have face no issues so far.
Features of this ROM - Unlike any other
Things you will notice on this ROM
=======================================================================
1: I made a unique tweak with air view turned on, Thers always a feedback on the screen whereever your finger moves be it lockscreen or any other window.
2: Power Saving in Settings shows Different options and Power Saving in Notification Toggle shows greyscale options.
3: Viper audio to boost the Audio output.
4: 31 toggles. Even S5 doesn't have so many toggles. But 31 looks best for our big screen.
5: funcitonal Quick connect and SFinder.
6: Watch on remote control on notification panel when turned on.
7: Life Companion (smaller font)
8: First available Ported Note 4 look launcher with no stupid pullup app to screw with it.
9: Note 4 weather widget (fully transparent)
10: Group Camcoder works
11: All the Apps are updated to their latest release.
12: Device Status - Official (but do not update)
13: No branding what so ever. I dint do it as i hate it when i have to see others Name or their logos on my phone. Its so annoying!!
14: Double tap the staus bar to sleep
15: 4 way reboot options
16: Haptic feedback enabled by default with sound for air view.(power saving can disable it)
17: Android Version shows 4.4.4 (but its just a tweak)
18: S5 icons on settings and S5 settings.. all working.. no bugs!!
19: First working S5 keyboard for our phones with all working functionality.
20: Some awesome things i did to the ROM that i am forgetting right now to mention.
21: I did no tweaks to the performance of the ROM as I dont wanna play with that part. You can do it yourself.
22: Floating windows and all other tweaks are part of XPOSD
=======================================================================
Why didn't i share this earlier?
I was too busy flashing lollipop ROMs..and just realised this was better than everythin else.
So, spent more time fixin problems on the phone and now i share my work with all of you.
Hope you Enjoy my ROM as i do - but then it really doesn't matter to me if you do not.
If you dislike my work, just remember that no one ever shared a stupid S5 ROM before while all the other phones like S3 s4 and Note 2 Note 3 etc all had developers making S5 and note4 roms for these devices and none for us.
Feel free to rip my ROM apart and do whatever you want with it.
Thanks to Blekota for his Samsung S3 ROM. It made my Mega alive!!
Thanks to unclefab too.
You don't need to make a zip if you are rooted.
From your phone, open your android terminal and type:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20 of=/sdcard/system.img
Wait a bit, after a while you'll have your system.img in your sdcard (but make sure you have sufficient storage as it's a pretty big file).
Then, to anyone wanting to push it on one's phone, put the img file on your sd and type:
su
dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20
You can do it from adb too, just type adb shell before su.
If the phone doesn't boot after flashing the img you'll have to wipe wipe data and cache.
Did you keep the original boot.img or did you flash the S5's?
In case you used the S5's boot.img and want to add it to your rom, type this:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 of=/sdcard/boot.img
@bevinabraham :
my connection is pretty slow too so I'd like to ask you 2 questions before I attempt to download:
1-did you replace the whole system/app and the whole system/framework folders?
2-how is the multi windows function? Any difference compared to the stock Mega 4.4.2?
Do you have that note 4 feature that enables to resize full screen windows from the screen edges (swiping down from either top left or top right)?
The proper way is to use an android kitchen (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246) but it seems that may be out of your wheel house. There are also ways to make a full update zip of your ROM via nandroid and some play store apps.

Hi,
Actually thats not what i am trying to do.
How to people get the starting new set up wizard etc when you just flash a rom? how do i export all the folders such as the whole system folder with the boot.img in it into a update.zip?
any code for that?
To answer your second question..
I did not replace the whole System APP PrivAPP and the framework folders as its a larger resolution that ours..
So, I just ported only a few files from the system app and a few files from the priv app and a lot of lib and etc files and twframework files.
Then i modded the stock frameworkres.apk file from the framework folder with the s5 frameworkres,apk .
So its pretty much the whole that we see outside is all of s5 stuff..but everythin under it which we cant see (are the stock functions)
and its not themed if thats what u meant.. the lockscreen is of note4..
The floating windows i got using Xposed framework. i can resize it..
The multiwindow is stock multi window.. from the DNK1 rom.. its slightly diff that the old ones i guess as u can add and edit items,.

Yes.. i ll try this.. i saw it in the recovery of PhilzTouch.. to clone the ROM.
trying it now.
The boot.img, if I understood well you kept the one from the mega so you can forget that part.
Then, there's no need for any starting wizzard, people just flash your system.img and get whatever tweaks you put inside, that's it.
You can of course use android kitchen, but the method I gave you is by far the easiest and the fastest.
Nowadays I use this method, I make my rom the way I like it and add this or that, then I make an .img image ready for flashing, and I only use android kitchen if I need to edit my boot.img.
Lat but not least, once you have a system.img you can pass it through 3 commands and make it an odin flashable file for people that aren't rooted.
Reagrding note 4, I'm not interested in lockscreen stuff, I just wanted to know if the multi windows function in your rom is the same than in the stock mega Kk or if it has new features.

I am onot sure if it would work on i9205, but then there is no reason why it should not work as this rom does not have the baseband/modem file etc.. just the boot and the system.
hy man . used base stock MegaKatI9205Deodex v18 and added s5 apps features so work nex apps : svoice,calculator bug layout, loockscreen partiality, launcher partiality bug icons, and can't change wallaper, file manager, calculator bug layout, music player, video player,group palyer,browser,album,bootscreen, app manager but not work keyboard.. gallery don't work.. so now i need fix next bug. layout. so i need redit dpi

Sorry guys it works no more..... whatsapp has disabled beta
testing for the call feature

Mod for A510F

After rooting the phone, i have tried to edit others.xml file to enable:
1. Exit option for Browser.
2. Call block and sms block (in the system setting)
3. Turn on or off camera shutter sound.
And some other things.

After rooting the phone, i have tried to edit others.xml file to enable:
1. Exit option for Browser.
2. Call block and sms block (in the system setting)
3. Turn on or off camera shutter sound.
And some other things.

[Google Assistant] for OnePlus 2

I recently activated the Google Assistant on my OnePlus 2. Its a little different than installing on other devices.anyways, lets get started!
**I am not responsible for any problems in your device, This is just the method I used to activate Google Assistant for Myself(and my friends,worked every time!)**
Prerequisites:
1. Installed TWRP or CWM(in recovered)
2.Rooted OP2
3.Installed ES File Explorer!
4.Installed Android 7.x ROM.
How to get started:
Download the files from here : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=121914
Put All files in same folder in your phone internal memory.
Thanks to @FaserF
Now...
1.Boot to Recovery.
2.Flash the Zip GoogleAssistantVelvet.zip
3.Flash the ZipGoogleAssistantBuildProp.zip (this will install the "tweak.prop" into your build.prop)
Now boot to your device.
4.Open ES file explorer and Activate "Root Explorer".
5.Mount R/W in memory , /system directory.
Here you will find the file "build.prop"
6.Remove these lines :
ro.product.brand=OnePlus
ro.product.name=OnePlus2
7.In the place of removed lines, add this-
ro.product.model=Pixel XL
Now save the changes.
Clear Data of your Google App.
Reboot your device.(not that important)
Tap the home Button and your Google Assistant will POP UP!
Tap on Thanks if I helped you!

Does your camera work? I tried an other method and it messed up my camera, because it only saved a green picture.

I am using FireHound 7.0 and nothing seems broken to me because of Google Assistant!
Beware if you're on AICP, this locked up my phone, had to restore my backup again. If you're on AICP, just use the other Google Assistant thread and add the entries to build.prop yourself.
I've tried flashing these two files on 3 different ROMs with pico gapps--- Official RR 6.0.1, Graraks CM14, Firehound OS 7.0 but every time, the phone gets struck at 1+ bootlogo. I don't know what's going wrong. Please help.
1 more thing, while flashing the 2nd zip, some Error 1 appears in twrp.
Edit: its working good. I just didn't downloaded that tweak.prop. Now it works flawlessly!
Thanks!✌
Does it work on marshmallow ROMs?

do you even read the requirements?
Just my two cents: there's no need to do any of that really to get Google assistant to work on Android N builds.
Just make sure that you have the latest version of the Google search app, then add these two lines to your build.prop file and reboot. After that, just clear Google search's data and then open the assistant using the same shortcut that you've used to open now on tap before(long press home by default), when asked about setting up "ok Google" select "I'll do it later"(to avoid crashes).
That's it

can u please explain which two lines to add? There is just one single line which is to be added in the build.prop.
The lines are:
ro.product.model=Pixel XL
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
After putting these in the build.prop and rebooting, clear Google search's data and the assistant should work
not working on Halogen OS 7.0
Just wanted to comment on the OP.
Adding the two lines works. No need to flash anything or delete any lines. It works just as on any other device.
At least on CM14/.1
Tried to activate assistant by put these two lines into build.prop... Seems to be OK but every time I finish voice recognition setup for "OK Google" and want to try it, it starts the setup again...
Any solution?
well can anyone try to help me ?

It's normal, voice recognition isn't working with this method.
@casual_kikoo
Thanks a lot for your information... Could you point me to the right way? The way from op?
