3.Installed ES File Explorer!
4.Installed Android 7.x ROM.
How to get started:
Download the files from here : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=121914
Put All files in same folder in your phone internal memory.
Thanks to @FaserF
Now...
1.Boot to Recovery.
2.Flash the Zip GoogleAssistantVelvet.zip
3.Flash the ZipGoogleAssistantBuildProp.zip (this will install the "tweak.prop" into your build.prop)
Now boot to your device.
4.Open ES file explorer and Activate "Root Explorer".
5.Mount R/W in memory , /system directory.
Here you will find the file "build.prop"
6.Remove these lines :

I am using FireHound 7.0 and nothing seems broken to me because of Google Assistant!
Beware if you're on AICP, this locked up my phone, had to restore my backup again. If you're on AICP, just use the other Google Assistant thread and add the entries to build.prop yourself.
I've tried flashing these two files on 3 different ROMs with pico gapps--- Official RR 6.0.1, Graraks CM14, Firehound OS 7.0 but every time, the phone gets struck at 1+ bootlogo. I don't know what's going wrong. Please help.
1 more thing, while flashing the 2nd zip, some Error 1 appears in twrp.
Edit: its working good. I just didn't downloaded that tweak.prop. Now it works flawlessly!
Thanks!✌

do you even read the requirements?
Just my two cents: there's no need to do any of that really to get Google assistant to work on Android N builds.
Just make sure that you have the latest version of the Google search app, then add these two lines to your build.prop file and reboot. After that, just clear Google search's data and then open the assistant using the same shortcut that you've used to open now on tap before(long press home by default), when asked about setting up "ok Google" select "I'll do it later"(to avoid crashes).
That's it

can u please explain which two lines to add? There is just one single line which is to be added in the build.prop.
The lines are:
ro.product.model=Pixel XL
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
After putting these in the build.prop and rebooting, clear Google search's data and the assistant should work
not working on Halogen OS 7.0
Just wanted to comment on the OP.
Adding the two lines works. No need to flash anything or delete any lines. It works just as on any other device.
At least on CM14/.1
Tried to activate assistant by put these two lines into build.prop... Seems to be OK but every time I finish voice recognition setup for "OK Google" and want to try it, it starts the setup again...
Any solution?
well can anyone try to help me ?

I take no credit for any of this but I followed the below link on my Rogers S4 and wallet is working perfect.
Description: This method will help you get Google Wallet working on your Galaxy S4, regardless if you have a TouchWiz-based ROM or AOSP-based and whether it's Odexed or Deodexed. This should also work on all US/Canadian Galaxy S4's.
Please Note: In order to use this method you need to be rooted[ and have a custom recovery.

Yes, and the top one is only for deodex so not all people can use it. The bottom one put me in a boot loop so it might work for all US odexed ROMs but not Canadian. The one I've posted appears to work for all Canadian and US deodex or odexed
Thanks! Working for me... at least running, haven't tried to use it in a store yet.
I switched my build.prop back to my AT&T one after setting it up, not the Verizon one shown here.
Running Goldeneye 1.3 deodex and following the instructions for Option A to the letter and it keeps giving me a message saying that Google Wallet can't be configured and to check my network. I have cellular signal and I am connected to my WiFi. Trying Option B now....
*EDIT* Just tried Option B and getting the same error. "Device Not Ready. Wallet is unable to proceed unitl the device is fully initialized. Make sure the device has network access and try rebooting if the problem persists." I've tried all that and still not having any luck. ugh.
I'm not one hundred percent but I think you have to change the ro.product to the following
SGH-I337
Instead of vzw to att for the bottom two
AT&T S4 | MDOB | Faux123 003m | xda premium

Well, not sure entirely what device you have, but typically the Contact related apps are held in the /system/app partition and when reinstalling, you can't just sideload the apk like you can for a Play Store app. You must have root access and move the apk files to the /system/app partition either with a file manager with root access and change the permissions (very important or they won't work or open!) or flashing through a custom recovery. If that fails and you don't have the option to just reflash the rom then just get other Contact apps via the Play Store like Go Contacts & Dialer, ExDialer, etc.
Hi, thanks for answering my device is is like a Mi3 (xiaomi) but internally is not like the original, carries a mt6589, I have root access, what I do is copy in system / app those contacts.apk and contactsprovider . apk I grant permissions to install and run, but after that did not start. I put ex dialer and it works but does not allow me to save contacts.I can not find a rom for this device.
this is my device information
I'm not referring to permission to install the app. Please read this for a better understanding: http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-setfix-file-permissions-on-android-devices-a-beginners-guide/

Hi, I've got problem with HwParent and HwIntelligent, how install them if they are not installed in the original ROM...because I can't install them normally...package corrupt it says me....
you cannot install them normally, they have to be placed in the system partition and changing the permission as i have already given the screenshots...
Thank you
Hey,
thank you for explaining the manual way - that helped me a lot and also fixed a second problem i have had.
The problem was, that after the update my FM Radio was gone.
I found the app here but i cant push files by ADB as root. So i just installed doing the same way:
i copied the apk to an own folder to /system/app/ , set permissions, rebbooted and it worked perfect.
all your apps are working too.
Except the parental controll - i didnt install it because nothing planned yet... ^^

OK sorry, it was badly asked... I did it as you explained and I succeed to install them but I can't find where to activate them... Now, I find the parent control in the advanced settings with the "student app" with the last post and it works but where I can find or activate the "intelligent" smart assistance app ? And about the package installer, I pasted it in the priv-app file but what happens now ?

After you paste the package installer and gave permission , you have to delete( or cut to make a copy of ) google package installer,,, it will be activated when you remove google package installer folder in the same directory

Link dead need mirror for the same

does anybody have the apps from the link?
can someone reupload it?
Hi
I've started around three other threads here on XDA but I never seem*to get anyone answering my questions for something that should be so simple.
Anyway I've been trying to flash a ZIP folder containing third party APK files via TWRP to go alongside my fresh install of Lineage OS. All of the user apps install perfectly fine to the '/data/app' directory, however, system apps that are installing to the '/system/app' directory are only getting half installed. Basically when I boot into the ROM I can see all of the system apps in the app launcher, and even navigating through the phone with a root explorer I can see that I can see the correctly copied folder and file from inside the ZIP folder. For example the Google Snapseed app is stored as the following:-
/system/app/com.niksoftware.snapseed
>niksoftware.snapseed.apk
What's weird is that if I open the apk file and install it with the Package Installer*successfully*installs it but with a '1' suffixed to the end and two folders and a re-named apk file
/data/app/com.niksoftware.snapseed-1
> lib
> oat
> base.apk
For a little test I moved the 'niksoftware.snapseed-1' folder from '/data/app' to '/system/app', deleted the original 'niksoftware.snapseed'*folder and rebooted my phone. As expected the app continued to work perfectly fine with no force crashes.
If you're wondering why I'm installing the apps under a system app, it's because the user(s) I'll be passing the phone onto will be non-technical Android users. When the user needs to do a factory reset, the apps I pre-installed will survive if they're installed as system apps compared user apps that will get wiped.
There is literally nothing on any forums anywhere explaining how to flash system apps via recovery taking the more recent Android the OS' that have been released in the last few years. Could someone please help me out here?
Many thanks
Will

Personally I never tried to install third party apps like that , but it could be interesting to test this out .
But I think you've made a mistake while trying to create the system folder :
You created this :
/system/app/com/niksoftware.snapseed
But the /com is not needed , I mean it maybe the reason of you issue .
So try to remove the /com :
/system/app/niksoftware.snapseed
Let me know if it worked

Hi
Thank you for your reply. I've only just realised there is a typo in the directory. The 'com/' should be 'com.' However, I will give removing 'com' altogether to see if that makes any difference.

I renamed all of the folders inside the zip folder so there is no '.' (dots) in the folder and file names and unfortunately the apps still crash. It's a shame there is no command that extracts the .APK files into their correct directories. I'd love to know how the OpenGApps package works because that basically does the same thing as my ZIP folder.

GApps does the same thing .
Basically it's a zip file with a script that copy all the file and the directories to the root directory of your phone.
I think the problem is the signature used bybthe third party apps. But that's just an hypothesis , I could be wrong I'll let you search more deep on that subject with Google , hope this helped a bit

I've found a couple of APK/ZIP folder signing utilities but unfortunately they've made no difference.
The part that's going wrong somewhere is the folders that should be created alongside the APK files are not being created.

I made some videos explaining the situation.
The first video shows the app crashing on launch. The APK file is installed at
Code:
/system/app/Snapseed
I then proceed to install it which is successful and installs itself as a user app found at
Code:
/data/app/com.niksoftware.snapseed-1
Next I rename it and move it to system directory and delete the original directory so there isn't a clash of identical apps. Finally I reboot the phone.
https://youtu.be/mL6ePOMnDQw
The second video I show that it opens up perfectly fine. To show that the two folders inside the
Code:
/system/app/com.niksoftware.snapseed
directory are important, I move them to the internal storage Downloads folder and then relaunch the app. It now crashes. I restore the folders and then app once again works again.

Hi , the videos you made made me understand better your issue , but I've a question , when you moved the oat and lib folders to the system , you opened the Snapseed app successfully without any bugs isn't it ?
And because the installation folders are in the system , the factory reset won't affect them .
So is your problem solved ?

Yes you could say I have solved the problem but it's not the solution I'm looking for. I want to be able to install the apps in bulk during the flashing stage using a custom recovery like TWRP I'm using. The order I would flash would be:-
1) Flash Lineage OS
2) Flash OpenGApps
3) Flash additional apps (essentially third party apps from the Google Play Store)

Ok , now flashable zips are field so I can help you
If you want me to do it for you , just upload those files to Google drive and send me the link , I'll make your flashable zip and upload it to Dropbox so you can download it :good:.
The files you should upload :
• Libs folder of every third party apps you want to install
• Oat Folder of every third party apps you want to install
• Base.apk file of every third party apps you want to install
If you want to do it yourself , I'll make you a guide on how to do it ( you require a PC to do it with RAR and Notepad++ or another text editor installed on it )

I'd rather do it myself please if that's okay with you creating a guide, as I would like to learn how to do it for future reference? I use Notepad++ quite frequently and I use 7-zip to archive everything so I'm all setup there.
This is going to sound stupid but where do I get the Libs and Oat folders from except for copying them from Android? I am aware you can open the APK files themselves but I've never seen the Oat folders inside.
Many thanks again for your help so far.

You will need this to make the flashable zip.
Copy and paste those files to your download folder ( Internal storage ) , then transfer those folders (and the APK file to your PC in order to use it .
I'm preparing the guide and I'll post it in around 10 min , don't forget to press the thank button on the posts

So , let's start with what you need :
- The folder /data/app/com.niksoftware.snapseed-1 and its content on your desktop
Now what you should do :
1) Extract the 2 folders in the template I made you
2) Open the system folder and create a folder called "app" into it
3) Copy the com.niksoftware.snapseed-1 folder (with the content inside it) and paste it into the app folder newly created
4) Repeate the step above for each and every app you want to install as system app
5) Exit the folders
6) Select the META-INF folder and the system folder and compress them with 7-Zip
7) You are ready to flash the zip to your phone !
My Advice is to do this in your Desktop in first place, because it's more easy to see what you're doing.
When you get used to this, you may do it everywhere (even on your phone).
Don't forget to disable signature verification in TWRP ( if there is the option , I don't remember well)
And make a backup of your phone before every modification , we never know what can happen (but in this case, it'll be okay since we're modifying nothing)
Hope this helped you , don't forget to press the thank button

I'm just trying to find out if there a more time saving tool that will extract the the lib, oat and base.apk from the containing .apk file so I can do it in bulk on a PC.
The problem I have is that I have about 20+ APK's that will be flashed additionally on top of the Lineage OS ROM and OpenGApps. Thinking how long it took to do one installing it as a user app, renaming it, moving it to the system partition, I would have to do that for everyone. Even if I was to do this method the contents I extracted for one Android architecture (CPU chipset type) used on one device may be completely incompatible on another.

Unfortunately I don't know any tool able to do that.
And for the architecture , that's not really a problem
Because there are only 4 architecture :
x86 (rare)
x86_64 (very rare , mostly used on emulators)
arm (most common)
arm64 (common)
And the arm APKs work for arm64 devices , so you just have to do this for arm APKs and it'll be okay for almost every Android device . (Edit 1 : Not really sure of this info, should be good but I can't certify it 100%)
And I know myself that doing that takes time , but if you really want to do that , that's the only way I can suggest.
Do as you feel it , I hope my answers were clear and useful for you.
Let me know what's your decision,
Have a nice day

I'm going to go ahead with it. Like you said ARM will work for ARM64. Even if the apps become slightly outdated if I were to flash my ZIP onto future devices, as soon as the Play Store is installed it will hopefully update anyway.

Good luck my friend
Iam not a good thread maker so i will try to write everything as simple as i can.
Few days ago i bought and switched to A7 2018 from A5 2017, which was/is still an excellent phone to me.
On A5 i was on Oreo and on A7 i am and will be still on Oreo. Not planning to test this on Pie, but be my guest and try it on Pie, some stuff should work. Report if it does.
On A5 i made a similar thread to enable some features, but it was much easier to do because i had a CSC folder instead of ODM folder which has some files encrypted and you need them decrypted to proceed. And there is no flashable zip, you will need to do all on your phone, except decrepitng some files which you will need to do on your pc, and then put back and overwrite the same files on your phone and give necessary permissions.
First of all iam not a developer and i dont know anything about developing.
This is just enabling some features that were allready there in the phone through some lines on some files in ODM/OMC folder and some lines implemented in the stock floating_feature.xml file.
Never delete floating_features.xml file from your phones etc folder and dont touch permissions (0644), or your phone wont boot up. You just need to edit them and save.
Iv tested only on stock A750FNXXU1ASA4 OREO, which was only rooted and nothing else was modified.
The features you should get if everything goes right are:
1. Floating messages (option in Advanced features)
2. Record calls in (phone options)
3. Show network speed (option in status bar)
4. Data Usage Notification (option in data usage)
5. Camera Shutter sound on/of (in camera options)
6. ScreenRecord (options accessible from QPannel and Advanced Features)
7. S Bike Mod
8. Places option on keypad
9. Caller ID spam protection (in phone option)
9. LiveMessages in samsung keyboard
10. S PowerPlanning (Device Maintenance/battery)
11. HomeMode(screensaver option)
12. S Pen features( needed if you ever find working AirCommand).
13. In Samsung video options, but in option that apear when you press play on video,
you should see Video Enhancer option. Download Samsung video from Galaxy apps.
14. Multiuser support
15. Dolby Atmos dual speaker (works with speaker not just with earphones)
Anyway...
I f you dont know anything about floating_features.xml or bulid.prop or ODM/OMC folders and editing them, then dont try this beacuse I won't be held accountable if something happens to your phone if you loose your data or go into bootloop! So Dont Forget to Backup your Phone!
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.You have to be ROOTED offcourse and have a file manager like RootExplorer or simillar.
2. Now you need to copy from root of your phone two files from your contry ODM/OMC folder that your phone/SIMcard uses. It must be from your contrys ODM/OMC folder no other ones. The files are cscfeature.xml and cscfeature_network.xml After you decrypt them put them back in your phone and overwrite the ones inside your contry ODM/OMC folder and give permission 0644.
After that open in text editor with your Root Explorer cscfeature.xml file and on the bottom insert the lines that you can see in the attachment, then save and restart the phone.
To decrypt cscfeature.xml files follow this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/decode-encode-omc-files-omc-decoder-t3791471
3. Now open your floating_feature.xml which is located in system/etc folder and just edit/enter on the bottom of the file lines that you can see in the attachment, save and restart the phone. Dont do nothing else with this file just insert the lines then save and restart the phone. If you delete it you will go in to bootloop.
4. Now open your build.prop and on the bottom of the file enter lines that you can see in the attachment, save and restart the phone.
5. Now copy all files in system from the attachment and put them in their corresponding places.
Give perrmission for folder 0755 and 0644 for files.
Thats it!
I hope it works for you like it did for me.
Il try to answer any questions, when i have free time.
And if you all have problems doing this i will make a video tutorial when i have free time.
Does this tutorial applies to a7 2018 with android pie? I mean do I have to decrypt those files? I just want to enable call recording.

Okay upload the file. Will decrypt it if i got some time tomorrow. Easiest way is by using firefds xposed module. Youll see call recording setting under phone section.
So can I enable only call recording without decrypting those files? I've did it on my s8, just copied the csc code into build.prop...it will work on this device too?
Some more features if anybody is interested.
Its for Pie
