problem syncing folders and files - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I just got my ATP last night and have been configuring it to my liking. One challenge I've had is that I can't get it to sync with my skydrive. I've tried FolderSync, but there is some sort of issue that the developer says can't be solved related to LiveMesh (which I use to sync my docs between my computers).
Can someone recommend another app that would work? Or another way I can sync easily?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Please help....Cannot edit calendar entries synchronized with Exchange Server

Alright, I scoured the Internet and XDA but could not find a reasonable answer to this issue, and by reasonable, I mean one that doesn't involve purchasing/installing a 3rd party application or changing my calendar solution to Google Calendar. To summarize, my Atrix is configured to sync with my Exchange Server. I get my contacts and calendar without any issues, however, I am unable to edit any calendar entries that are established from my desktop PC via Outlook and sync'd via Exchange Server to my phone. If, however, I create the entry on the phone, I am able to edit to my hearts content, and sync still works as expected. I believe this is a 'documented' bug with Froyo, but being new to the Android experience, I wanted to know if anyone on XDA was experiencing a similar issue and what, if any, workarounds were used to fix it. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I really want to keep using this phone because I think it's awesome, but these 'little bugs' in Android could be deal breakers for me in the end.
cant edit calendar entries
using Samsung Galaxy S and connected to our Exchange server, I can only edit entries created on the device. Entries that were synced from the Exchange are in view only mode.

Mega Urgent Outlook sync problem

I was wondering if anyone out there has suffered and resolved the following issue.
I have a Sensation which is running ICS version 4.0.3 and software number 3.32.401.5 the ROM I’m currently using is found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1529941 the deodexed version.
I use this phone for work and up until 2 weeks ago everything was working without issues but for some unknown reason all of a sudden, HTC Sync has stopped working. I’m now unable to Sync my work calendar to my phone and since the office are often updating my diary via a CRM package I need these changes to be reflected on my phone. I know it’s not the HTC Sync program, as I have the sync software installed on 3 machines. My home laptop, my work laptop and my work desktop and the phone no longer syncs to any of them. I’ve installed and reinstalled (and before anyone asks antivirus was turned off ), still no joy.
Does anyone one know what might have gone wrong or does anyone know of a different app or program I can use to update the calendar? I did try Google calendar sync but that just didn’t sync, no matter what sync interval I used.
I must add I’m only trying to get my outlook appointments to show up on my phone I don’t need a 2 way sync solution.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice given.

[Q] Synchronize my phone with my own cloud

Hi forum users,
I find it weird, but I cannot find any existing info on a feature I'm looking for.
All I'm trying to do is synchronize my calendar and contacts between different devices and my pc. But I have a few requirements.
I want to access in read-write mode my data from my devices (i.e I want to be able to create a new contact from my phone or from my laptop, and my contact list must be updated everywhere)
I DON'T want to use google services (google agenda, etc.), and I DON'T want my data to be hosted on a server that I don't own. Clearly said, I want to host my data by myself
I'm running an ubuntu laptop
I've stumbled upon solutions like Own Cloud and Funambol. Have anyone tested them? Will they do the trick? Any other solution?
Also, I've found a few posts asking for the same questions, but all are quite old, and none of them found a good answer.
Thank you for your help.
I can't believe I'm the only one with this kind of requirements?
I have tested ownCloud. Sync with some datafiles works, but i didn't manage to sync contacts and calendars. Owncloud on Android is even in alpha state. Maybe an own Groupware server like zaraffa is an option?

Owncloud is perfect but u have to buy some apps to get it full integrated in android...for calender for example
EVO Collaborator for Outlook
Zimbra,Sogo,OwnCloud etc.
Then sync this with Outlook. (if you cant it to sync try EVO Collaborator for Outlook, add-in for Outlook)
Which program you use depends on your preferences. I don't have experience with any of the other ones mentioned so far.

[Q] Local phone android contacts with ICS?

Hi everyone,
I'm using CM9, but I tried different ICS roms and I encounter this problem with all of them.
- I'm trying to add a local phone (non gmail) contact to my phone, but it doesn't let me do that. When I add a new contact, a message box pops up saying, that: "Your new contact will be synchronized with <my gmail account>". How to add a local phone (not a SIM card) number?
- I have a backup of all my local phone numbers from GB made with MyPhoneExplorer, and restoring it works when I'm on ICS. The contacts are shown as local phone contacts (PCSC). However, after restarting the phone and waiting a few minutes, all the local contacts are completely gone. MyPhoneExplorer confirms that there are no contacts in the phone either. What's going on?
I really do not want to sync my contacts with google. Looking forward to hearing some answers!
Cheers!
I use CM9-alpha4 (i9001) and it works for me.
I did completely turn of "accounts and sync" and I also didn't flash gapps.
When I first created a new contact I was notified that it will be local and not synced. No problem there.
I'm using the CM9 9-20120614 version (the newest beta). I have Accounts and Sync on, since I want some stuff synced with my phone (facebook, linkedin, gmail calendar, etc.). And I experience the beforementioned problems...
I fiddled with the options but found nothing that would allow me to store my contacts locally and prevent the existing ones from being deleted
There is an issue in the Bugtracker:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=26834
You could also use some other account that doesn't sync with Google. Funambol[0] would be my choice.
[0] http://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=com.funambol.androidsync
Thanks for that link.
However, I'm not sure, how is that cloud solution about to help storing my contacts locally without sharing it with any 3rd party?
You have to assiciate your contacts with some account. The funambol client creates such a "account provider" for you. But I just tried it and it seems like the client always wants you to sync with some server. You could set up your own server but that might not be what you want.
Sorry I can't really help. There is another thread about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27747450
Alright, thanks a lot for your replies! Sigh, I guess I will just stick with google contacts for now -_-
here's my fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1808037

Thanks! I will test it soon, although I have already moved my contacts to Google's cloud. Also, will this fix prevent me from synching google contacts? If so, it's more of a workaround than fix.
It breaks contact syncing deliberately. If you want to keep that while enabling local storage of contacts you need to edit the contacts.apk . I initially decompiled it and identified the line of code that enables or disables the local option.

Obvious answers.
1. Uninstall and re-install.
2. Unplug your Mac, take it back to the store and buy a *insert Windows PC brand here* (Sorry have to do this one)
3. Software Requirements (Macintosh):
Mac OS X 10.6 or higher version
Microsoft Office for Mac 2011
Source: HTC.com
Or just get a real computer
Didn't know you could still buy one of those "real" computers. Understand sales are almost non-existent but there must be a few die hards around.
Forgot to mention same setup worked great on HTC ONE X+.
Did I mention I am looking for help?

Thanks for the help. I did try turning off AFT since it automatically pops up and then nothing happens but maybe I need to uninstall it. I'll give that a try.
thanks again.

For photos I use DropBoks. Works great...it will sync all pictures to the cloud and sync them to any computer (Mac or PC) running DropBoks.
I will try Missing Sync and see if it can sync my music and playlists.
Surprised to see so much anti mac stuff here.......

Thanks, I'll take a look at DropBoks. I have so much stuff on iPhoto - up to about four different libraries now - that I really enjoy just plugging in my iPhone and syncing everything with no hassle. That is really why I keep going back to it even though all the new Android phones are really nice. I would like to enjoy the great phone features instead of fighting the sync problems.
