Anyone else have their charger fray towards the male end that goes into the phone?
Kinda annoying.. now I've gotta try to find another charger/data cable on ebay cuz my data cable is screwed now! Anyone have suggestions?

Yeah, I have the plastic wrapping around it being ripped away, but it's still fine. Just reattach the wires and solder if you know how or know someone or just find another mini usb cable (that's all it is).
I just bought anther cable on ebay.. I could solder it back but I'm lazy.. Plus the cable I bought is longer than the oem which is obviously good

Pretty sure the tbolt doesnt use a traditional mini usb cable.

No phone uses a mini USB anymore. They all use microUSB. Easy to find though. Target sells that for like $15. For $20 at Walmart, you can get a Nook charge kit with a nice long, thin, light weight cable a lot like the stock, but in white.

Er, I meant microusb . I don't have a spare micro usb cable, but I swap out the verizon one for a miniusb one to charge my headphones all the time.
Can you still find a wall charger for a micro USB? Or is stall USB to phone now? Kinda sorta related.

When I plug in the Photon to HDMI a black screen comes up. The menu on my phone will not come up to connect. Any help?

This is a cable I got on Amazon.com It is great quality and it costs 6 bucks. I get a black screen. I have used the cable before with no issue. Thanks though. I doubt that is the issue but I will try it.

Send it back to monoprice. They replace for free.
I have many monoprice cables and occasionally, some of them don't work right. Just send it back. Their customer service is very good.
The current microHDMI cable I have from them works perfectly. No jiggling necessary.
Just wondering if all MHL adapters are the same. Meaning, can I use a generic non-HTC adapter on my Rezound?

I believe so. Someone posted that a monoprice one worked on his GSII. I know that is a different phone but it is likely that HTC hasn't blocked generic ones if samsung didn't.

The monoprice adapter works for my Rezound.
Thx for the help, just order a 10$ mhl adapter. After this bad boy set me back 600$ i'm trying to squeeze all the accessories I can outta this weeks paycheck.
I'll let you guys know how it goes when I get it.

The Monoprice MHL adapter works like a charm. You can't use your HTC cable in the adapter though. So pick up a long enough 5 pin micro usb cable( I am using a 6' wish I would have bought bigger) and long enough HDMI cable for your set up so you don't have to stand next to your TV operate the phone and watch it on the TV.
to further add to the question, if you're going through the MHL->HDMI to your telie, will it also keep your phone charged?

Yeah its a lot going on for our phone to display on a TV. My wife's Bionic has hdmi out, that is so easy! Just bought a hdmi to micro hdmi cable from monoprice for 3 bucks for my wife's phone. The Rezound looks like a octopus just to display to the TV!
Where u guys getting the monoprice MHL? Amazon? I haven't connected any phone to my tv since my original EVO days. Would love to do it with this one. Thanks fellas

No, the video parts of the NFL app will not work. I have tried it and when you try to access video content, the screen you are connected to view blank.
Thats weird. I thought u can view anything that's on your phone... Even the home screen!? Is there anything else that doesn't work through the mhl?

I recieved mine from Monoprice, works great. But it HAS to be connected to power (charger or USB both work) to function, not just if you want the phone to charge while using the adapter.
What I did was use a short HDMI cable, short micro USB cable plugged into one of my TVs USB ports for power, and then mounted the adapter to the back of my TV with velco. I then use a micro usb extension cable to connect the adapter to my phone, cutting down a TON on the octopus effect. And I can always disconnect the adapter to take it with me somewhere.

I found on the original DROID that a magnet triggered both car dock and regular dock mode in certain areas of three phone. I imagine that it's the same here. The US car dock is only $40 tho.
EDIT : Tested theory with my car dock for RAZR. It has something to do with the USB plug. RAZR can be in dock and if USB isn't plugged in then no dock mode.

You don't, it's automatic. If the dock isn't wired correctly then it will only charge.

I can't remember what phone/dock (might even be this phone) but I do remember reading that soldering a resistor between certain pins was enough to fool the phone into thinking it was an official dock.. Maybe you can search for that?
