[Q] Not seeing HC 3.2 update on a 32g 3g Flyer. - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Hi everyone and sorry if this has been discussed before. I just bought an HTC Flyer 32gb 3G through Integron in the US. I think the device is the UK version unfortunately since I received the device I have no sign of how to update it to Honeycomb. I bought it mainly because I wanted to be able to use the pen to interact with the device unlike under Gingerbread. I previously had a Lenovo Thinkpad tablet but it was too chunky and I needed something smaller. My question is how can I get Honeycomb? I just hope that because this is a UK version device that I have in the US I may not be able to have the update. I called HTC Support but the agent did not even know what Honeycomb is. Please let me know what I can do thanks.

So just to clarify, you have gone to settings>about tablet and pressed software updates to check and see if it is available correct?

Thanks for your reply yes when I do that it says that my tablet is up to date and that "there are no updates available for your tablet".

Correction, I did the small update, then I received the OTA update, I also noticed you need to have airplane mode turned off (at least for me) to get the update or it could have been a fluke.

My wife's EVO view was doing the sane thing for about a week after she got it. I'm sure this was just coincidence, but when she finally got the update she was on my phones mobile ap instead of home WiFi.

If anyone is on an AT&T phone and installs this let us know if tethering works or not.
It would be nice if it's there in this update.
nothing here too in Saudi Arabia both in my HD7 t-mobile brand & HTC Titan UK...
Hello,
I think this update will start to be released next week (for all equipments)
Maybe HTC launches a new firmware update with this new build too.
Thanks,
Santos
I think this is just an HTC update. My OS version is still 7.10.7740.16.
@Rickgig, tethering worked before this update. You just have to pay for it.

The OS version on my AT&T HTC Titan is 77.10.7720.68 Your manual update seems like it pretty easy to do I was wondering if I wanted to try this then roll back how would I do that since your file don't have the version my phone has?
Also, do you happen to know if this new version or any newer version takes care of the random power cycling/reboot that occurs like 1 or 2 times every 12-18 hours? My phone seems a little better now that I uninstalled the HTC apps (except for the HTC version of Tango video chat software since that is made for the Titan) hope that these updates take care of that too.

Hello,
You can see here and here
Thank You,

Hey guys,
Just updating you all on this if you haven't already read the Windows phone blog today.
They have mentioned in their blog that this update and the future 'maintenance updates' will fix more than the change log just to maintain any issues raised by the carriers. However, these maintenance updates will only be released to carriers that ask for it. So if your carrier did not ask for this maintenance update or anything else in future you won't get these kind of small maintenance updates. I am going to manually update my phone today as mine is SIM free and my carrier will never get me any maintenance updates.
I will post back if I see anything noticably different. I would however recommend that if you feel confident, then go for manual update as your carrier might or might not have asked Microsoft for the update. The reason I understand is these maintenance updates once applied require your carrier to put their crap back on your phone. Some carriers happily will do it and others will take long time to re-do their crap on the phone, which means you get update later than the world. I do appreciate MS's approach regarding maintenance update, but it's a shame we have some lazy carriers supplying network to windows phone!
I am thinking of doing the manual update as well. Would you indeed be so kind to post the result? I am curious!

Anyone have the ICS update for the UK version yet?

Any ideas when we are likely to receive the OTA ICS update in the UK?
Probably on the 12th

where did you get your prime
i got mine from best buy in USA and got update notification when i did a check for update
try doing a manual check for update
settings>about tablet>software update>check update
Please indicate in the title that this is a question, otherwise it reads like you have seen the update.
If we knew when it would be, there would be a post about it already...
I am fairly certain the ICS update was global. Are you connected to internet and does your Prime have serial numbers listed? It seems that people that don't have serial numbers are unable to get the update.

No only US and TW models got it yet. Confirmed by ASUS.
I got it from PC World on the 2nd Jan. Tried the manual check but nothing yet so must assume it will come in the next few days.
Im in the uk with a UK prime and have no ICS update yet either...
Still waiting here!

no update for me
There will be no update until the WW version of the update is sent live. As Diamondback2010 said only US and TW updates are live at the moment. If I'm not mistaken, Canadians are also using WW version so even though they're only a stones throw away from the US they don't have ICS either. Just assume the 12th and any earlier will be a bonus (so long as you don't end up with an update brick).
Downloading update now. 02:57am uk
Its now here for the UK, downloaded and installed.

Thanks for the heads up guys! Here we go!
Congrats UK! Glad to hear that I can update my tablet once it actually gets shipped from UK without having to worry about backups prior to update.
Downloading as I type. Fingers crossed my perfect Prime stays that way!
Got mine this morning... cant' really tell much has changed, but it just feels that little bit smoother and finished.
Camera was stuttering after the update, i'm sure nothing that reboot wont sort.
Looking great to me so far. So smooth, just shows how bad Honeycomb was when you have a basis for comparison, under the hood.
Anyone else finding the check for firmware update button is greyed out?

Why Can't ASUS Just Gives Us Back the .11 Firmware?

I rarely start new threads here on XDA, but I thought this topic was deserving of having its own thread.
Many of us who had perfectly working Primes have had our units seriously screwed up by ASUS' .13 firmware update. Whether it's the sleep of death, ridiculous battery drain, or both, many of our tablets have went from working great to being borderline useless. It's as if many of our Primes were sacrificed to fix a few other Primes that had freezing problems that we never had.
With that said, I don't see why we should have to wait for weeks while Asus works on a fix for their last "fix" that caused these problems in the first place, when there is a perfectly good firmware already written that works great for most users. Why can't ASUS just give us the option to go back to the .11 firmware while they continue working on newer firmware? Why is this so hard? Am I missing something?

I could be wrong, but as far as I can see, various firmware versions are available for download from the Asus website - at least, they are from the UK website (which includes US-centric firmware): http://uk.asus.com/Eee/Eee_Pad/Eee_Pad_Transformer_Prime_TF201/#download
<Checks>
Yup, the global Asus web site has them too. There are other resources other than just XDA Developers, you know! ;-)

Yes, but manual update will not allow you to downgrade firmware to an earlier version...
Crap! I'm in the same boat.
I would love to revert back to .11
Battery drain is just too much to ignore.
Revert Firmware
As much as I hate the battery drain at this point the Reboots and Sleep of Death ARE KILLING ME.
.11 had a Perfectly working Prime. WIFI, BT everything great (well GPS didn't work but expected that..) No reboots etc.. Loved my prime... Update to .13 Firmware and Have the sleep of death, random reboots... going on 10+ reboots in 10 hours since updating this morning...
This sucks.
Please Please PLEASE give me a way to revert to .11
Be patient and the roms will come...

To be honest at this point I just wish they would give us our money back this product is a bust too many quality control issues.
the only way you'll get your money back is if you bought it from asus directly, but if you bought it at a retail store, you have to go back to a retail store.
however, im sure you know you can send it to rma and you'll get back it back fixed in a few weeks. sorry
In theory if someone could figure out where misc_version was stored then maybe someone with more brains than me could write a script to change this to a lower version allowing downgrade.
I may be barking up the wrong tree of course.
I had issues after an earlier firmware upgrade and a factory reset fixed it. I suggest trying that before investigating returns, downgrades or RMA's.

Factory resets have fixed a TON of problems I've had with my prime. I do it after every ota now lol.

This was the last straw for me. I'm stuck with the Prime, but I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER BUY ANOTHER ASUS PRODUCT EVER AGAIN. They're an awful, awful company.
Edit: Also, it's ridiculous to be expected to do a full reset after every OTA update, especially when Asus releases one every other week to try and fix problems they created with the previous OTA update.

Yep, I have said it a few times already in other threads, give us back our . 11
I would just be patient for a few days... wait for some unofficially, official news on the manufacturer's end, and we'll hopefully receive another update that could resolve the newly presented issues.

it was tweaked to account for processor clock differences in the Primes experiencing ICS lockup issue unless they allow us to somehow roll back to 1.11 this isn't happening anytime soon.
Im with the thought of the factory reset and installing apps one at a time. Im updated to the latest nd havent had any issues save the youtube thing that started before the update. Ive had apps crash to home screen and either ditched them or reinstalled. No battery problems here. What I noted after the update was fewer app crashes, better (not stronger) wifi preformance and the noise line that was popping through the screen every now and then hasnt happened since. Im thinking a great deal of issues are apps that are not optomized with ICS.

Ah. Fair point.
When I took my TF201 to the Asus service centre here in Hong Kong (yes they are Asus, not a contractor) I asked if they could roll me back to Honeycomb. Their answer was cannot. Only at the factory!
They are keeping the bootloader secure.
Is .13 so bad? Some of us in eu with constant reboots can't wait.

LRX21R?

I'm seeing LRX21L & Q. Just received a N9 tonight. After the update I now have LRX21R.
Is this a new build or old?
This N9 is for my wife and it's staying stock. When I get mine, if this is a new build, do I need to wait for a new root method?
I currently have the L version. Perhaps, you have the newer update
Edit: I mean I currently have the Q.
I was running Q and when I got home tonight I was prompted to update to R. So I guess that's the most recent. Hopefully a fix for the WiFi issues.

We're running a 5gHz AC network. The N9 has a one brief disconnect. Feel pretty fortunate to have a solid N9. No flex, no light bleed. Extremely snappy.
Now I just have to learn how to root then adb for unlocking boot loader. WAY too much white in the UI. Burning my eyes.
OTA links
Posted the ota links for LRX21R in the other thread [REF] Nexus 9 Stock OTA URLs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56840199&postcount=131
Nice, I haven't really had any issues with my N9 barring WiFi at the office. At home, everything is groovy. At the office, it won't connect to our guest network but it does connect with authentication to our main network. Not really sure what the differences are behind the scenes. I was hoping the update would fix the guest connection issue.
Hi, I'm stock Q, no root but unlocked, I will receive R by ota or I have to sideload it ?

I got a 17MB update this afternoon. Here is the screen shot. LRX21R.
I'm getting disconnected from WiFi almost every 1/2hr.
Edit: I'm from Southern California. Also, Google posted LRX21R factory image.

I'm also in Southern CA, but still on L. I do the "Check Now" pretty often, turn it off and back on again once a day, and can't even get the Q OTA. I'm really curious about Google's rollout method.
Did you do anything to trigger either update? I'd factory reset, but I'm 11 hours into Battleheart Legacy which does not support Play Games.
On a side note, I received the Nvidia Shield Tablet Lollipop update at 6:30am this morning - just as Nvidia promised. C'mon, Google!
Nope, i don't recall doing anything differently other than plugging it in to charge at night. Went to work, got home and the update popped up. I never understand how OTA is pushed out so I can't make any assumptions.
I am however experiencing many wifi drops after the update. I have my phone and tablet side by side and both connected to my wifi. Only the tablet is getting wifi drops.
i was playing word feud on the tablet and the notification to R came in after 3pm PST. im in LA ca.
updated just fine.
Got the update yesterday in the evening, my location is Germany

ASUS Suspends Android 7.0 Nougat Update for ZF3U! BUT My ZF3U is DEAD!

Following my recent technical issues that were caused after updating my ZF3U to Android 7.0, I contacted ASUS and was told that "we have checked this for you and sent this info through for analysis. The Android N update has been stopped for OTA updates. So we would advise to downgrade the unit back to Android M for now. And do a factory reset for the unit".
This advice did not work and eventually my problems got worse (see other threads I posted about my problems). Few days a go my ZF3U completely died on me. Prior to this fingerprint recognition did not work, serial number was misreported in settings, no sound in calls was present even after downgrade to Android M. ASUS should not have released the Android 7.0 firmware in the first place pending proper testing on the ZF3U.
Eventually, I sent the phone to repair (through my insurance as ASUS insisted I had to send the device to Taiwan as it originated from there for the Asia market -POOR Service for an international company) and was advised that my ZF3U was beyond economical repair so a replacement was needed. I have now ordered another one as this phone is the only phone available that caters for my needs. I am really annoyed with ASUS, their service and the really poor software update they first rolled via OTA and then through their servers and then withdrew without any advice to those of us who have already installed it on our precious devices. They should never have released an incomplete, faulty firmware update. I hope those of you who have either downloaded the OTA or used the manual file do not experience the issues I had but if you do then good luck to you unless you have insurance.
Lets hope they learn to fix their phones properly with good after-sales support and I am still waiting for compensation from them following my recent complaint.
What's up with this update anyway ? I received it and my phone functions perfectly...
Why did Asus pull the update ? What's the official reason ? Is it a widespread problem ? Or just corner cases ?
Thanks.

Not sure why it was pulled. I got the manual update second hand from a user on this site as it was already pulled from ASUS before I could get it. I knew the risk and updated anyways. No issues at all. Phone works perfectly, maybe even better. My bootloader was unlocked and rooted just like AWFRONT was. Not sure why I didn't get the same issues they did, but I am 100% issue free on the 7.0 update.

this explains why my ultra didn't get the update yet.. probably it was rolled out to some devices, and encountered intermittent issue like above and rolled back..
