Build.prop faster data speeds [Solved] - HTC Amaze 4G

Hello, I make some changes in the build.prop file for the HTC Amaze 4G.
I get faster data speeds, the changes was:
ro.ril.gprsclass=12
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=28
ro.ril.hsupa.category=7
ro.ril.hsxpa=4
Extract build.prop with droid explorer for windows, modify the values above and then:
"ADB remount"
"ADB push c:\build.prop /system/"
finish with:
"ADB reboot" (twice)
But after that modification, programs like skype and oovoo doesn´t work the video conference, no camera was detected.
Any ideas, to resolve the camera problems??
Problem Solved:
I put it the new build.prop inside the folder system from the original rom *.zip and then flash the rom. Speed changes acording the network signal and place, there are no constants.

Try fixing permissions after.
In recovery select Advanced, then Fix Permission. Let it do its thing then reboot.

Yes you should be able to edit the entries directly and reboot. Then reboot into recovery and try fixing permissions after.

I have an app called build.prop editor. I haven't used it yet but downloaded it assuming it would be useful for situations like this. Can i just use that?
Edit: nvm. Just saw ^^^post^^^

Sorry I saw your post late. I changed my build.prop to the settings above and rebooted and my data speeds were significantly slower, going from an avg of 12-17 mb/s to 5-7 mb/s.

Speed can vary acording the network signal and place, is so dificult you can have constant and similar speed rates always. Even in the same place, if you can test more than one times your results are diferents.

The original settings are:
ro.ril.gprsclass=10
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=24

ro.ril.hsxpa=4
If you want! You can try and see the differences..

We should get more people to try this out....

Ok, so if I edited the build.prop within the ROM.zip i wouldn't need to do it in ADB anymore correct?

not what you posted. xboarder or someone may have changed them from the original original settings, tho.
i will say your numbers do seem to have significantly increased my data speed, its noticeably faster in real world usability. For some reason it seems like my wifi has gotten slower tho, not sure why that would happen.

After doing this, i went from an ave of 6-8mbps to 12-16mbps. Awesome.

CDMA Data Speeds Tanked After Update

Has anyone else noticed their data speeds drop significantly after this latest update? At first I just figured they were doing something to the network, but here a week or so later I'm still getting around 100 - 200kb where I used to get 1mb.

Mine seems fine. I am running Eternity 3.0 with no issues. All I have is 3g in my area tho and I live out in the country side. Do you live in a big city were there is alot of folks hammering away on data?
I'm near cocoa beach so it's not uncommon for them to get this low during the day, but around now at one in the morning the they're usually good.
My upload speeds seem fine also, it's just my down stream data that is horrible.

Yeah my data speeds have tanked too man, sucks!
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
I think it may have affected me also. At night I can still pull over 1 mb down on 3g. WiMAX I haven't been able to pull over 1 mb down my upload speeds are normal for both I'm not sure if its location related or update related. The other night I couldn't even download an app on 3g.
It is so noticeable! The latest update destroyed my data speeds. It's horrific now. Now, even in major cities I've never had a problem in, I struggle just to refresh a web page. Seriously, if I'm not on wifi I can't even use this anymore.

My data speeds were always pretty bad but I've noticed other carriers like att and Verizon having same issues.

have no fluctuation here whatsoever, not even the slightest bit.
My speeds on 3G were always not so great and before and after the update they didn't budge to be honest.
Still waiting on the tower upgrade to be done near my house to fix the capacity issue it has. Too bad im told thats not set to be done till April 1st. lol
Love that they spent the time to do the voice capacity upgrade in December when Ive never ever had a dropped call here once, but data has always capped out at sub par speeds.
Believe me i check multiple times during the day and multiple servers on the speedtest app always in the same exact location and compare the same times of day and its funny to watch the speed i get at 6am be crushed by 11am when normal folk wake up. haha

Just throwing this out there, but is it possible this may have something to do with it?

YES!! The 3G hack by Motcher41 really freaking works! - blazing fast internet!

Ok, so i tried this hack for the motorola photon 4g
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466245
and it really freaking worked! Sprint has been so so terrible in our area for about a year now, and many complaints have done nothing. I used the hero, evo, evo 3d, evo again, now photon. the internet has always sucked. even with the evo 4G hack that somebody posted. so i did this process and my internet is crazy fast now! no need to look for wifi to upload or download a pic (or just internet in general).
ok so i followed the advice that i posted as a link, and the only problem was that there wasn't the line of code there that i was supposed to edit. so, i just simply added it in the "persist" section and BOOM!! internet was on fire!! these were my results:
Before...

218 243
203 323
282 134
228 168
486 487
77 128
which was typical "top end" speeds i would get if i was lucky during the daytime.
After reboot...(you have to wait about 4 or 5 minutes for the settings to completely settle, i had 8 speed tests that were very similar to the above, then i saw this and shat myself)

2010 567
1760 509

I had problems the next day with it reverting to some other setting, so I deleted the build.prop.bak then re-edited the original and speeds came back. does anybody if this gonna keep happening? if so, how to keep it from doing that? also, any other 3g hacks are welcomed!

first I set it at 100, and I am now currently as of this moment experimenting with new numbers.I have put in "10-1000000" without the quotes of course. this is also very fast. just so you know, what ever I do it seems like I am maybe getting throttled. I'll get super fast speeds for about 5 minutes, and then my speeds drops. I'm continually experimenting to see what I can get for optimal speed. I have tried boolean expressions, also the "10 - 100" expressions. some of them have given me awesome internet speed. but it always seems to drop off, so I don't know if there is a setting in the phone that somehow reverts back to the old setting. whatever happens I'm going to still try different combinations to figure out a setting that will stick. I will post back if I find something that really kicks ass!
I just tried many different combinations, right now I'm at "5-1000"and it seems fast and more consistent. just an update.

[MOD] FASTER 4G!!!! – for those who flashed VM firmware/ROM

Tested this on my own device, was good for some significant speed in data transfer over wimax.
First, you will need your MSL number. Download MSL reader from market.
Once you have it, get your MSL using the app.
Open dialer and enter ##3282#
Select “Edit”
Enter MSL number
Select “Wimax”
Select “Realm”
Edit the info to say “sprintpcs.com”
Hit ok.
Top right of screen, select “menu”
Apply changes.
It will ask you to reboot. Reboot, and once booted, power off device completely and pull battery, sit for 30 seconds, put battery back in, reboot.
Succes

to clarify, virgin mobile IS sprint. the difference however, is one has greater network priority when it comes to data transfer speed. during peak usage times, vm devices will have a slower connection than people on sprint. this fixes that issue.
Thanks, will give it a shot.
edit: HOLY SMOKES!! Went from 3.5mbps to 10.1mbps in the default speed test! This is utterly fantastic! How the heck does this work??
My goodness, this is nothing short of magic. I'm going to be using this as my hotspot from now on. Just downloaded an entire episode in seconds as a "real world" test. Utterly fantastic. Kudos to you!

I always does for me (at least in Kansas City). Latency is improved and throughput is always higher as measured by multiple speed tests.

Data speed boost

Anyone know if there is a data speed boost hack for the LTE like there was previously by hitting ##3272 and changing the ip and ports? I tried it earlier but completely lost data connection and put it back to original..can someone with their MSL try it and tell me if it was jist me or if it happened to them too.
