need a little help guys... i have this little generic tablet, its called a joyplus M703... well i dont really use it for much at all so i thought i would see if i could try and get it rooted maybe even updated to gingerbread at least.. I've tried websearching with little or no joy so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how i could install some kind of rom?something barebones so i could stretch the battery time.. make it run a little smother... anythoughts?

Is there any rom that has androkidd cooked in and set as the default from the get go? Ive tried the search but alas it was of no help.
Don't think so, Though i am planning to make a ROM with PointSense, wich is better than androkidd imo.
Well i guess that would work too. Really i just need to get rid of that dreadful winmo interface. I cant take it anymore I need a better UI. Any ideas on when you plan on making that rom?
you come across the win mo interface only if you use titanium versions of the different roms here. i recommend you try a sense 2.1 or 2.5 rom since an android stand alone rom doesn't seem to be quite around the corner and you hardly have to deal with the win mo interface. i for one am using energy roms and i am quite happy with them and the interface.

Im currently using phoenix2 and it does look nice but i just dont like the drag bar at the bottom and the home screen is just so cluttered.
Of course theres the option of installing all these things separately but im sure that something would get broken along the way.
So hopefully someone will make a rom with pointsense or androkkid as the default.
I am rooting this phone for a friends mom. I know she isn't gonna be too particular or even know the difference in anything no matter what I do. I just want to flash something for her that is better than stock and won't cause her any problems afterwards. I don't have a lot of time to research everything but have a good idea where we stand with the Eris.
My question is simple I hope, basically just if I just want a good simple ROM with nearly no problems would it be best to go with [ROM]Plain_JaneT2 V2.0 7/18/10 Stock With everything ROOT!! and just stick with 2.1 or is this phone running good with a CM7 ROM like Condemned?
Also maybe there is a better 2.1 ROM for this phone?

If you won't be doing much with it on a regular basis and want to be able to flash and forget I would probably recommend xtr-sense... I know some have been reporting some 3g bugginess lately with my latest ROM. If you want to give one of mine a try though I can post a link for the last most stable version of it that had hardly any issues at all. But as far as 2.1 ROMs I would go xtr myself.
hey i recently rooted/unlocked the bootloader on my phone yesterday. im new to this and rooting from the 2.3.6 was a pain. i flashed the darkside rom to my atrix and am currently using to golauncher. i ran my quandrent test n only got a score of like 2300. i was wondering what kernals would speed up my device while making sure my battery dosent drain and how id go about installing a new kernal. keep in mind im a noob haha. thanks in advance!!!
also i wanted to know if anyone recommends any roms other than darkside. im pretty happy with it right now. i love the hdmi hack but wanted to know if there was anything better. i kinda rushed into it and darkside and cm7 were the only 2 i rlly looked into.

As for ROMs - noone can tell you whats best - play around with them. For the kernel... until you learn more about android, leave it alone! 2300 quadrant is good. Benchmarks dont mean crap in terms of real world preformance anyway... as long as its smooth, doesn't lag, and its you're happy with the setup - leave it alone.

Why ROM is the best and why is it the best. I want the fastest most stable rom there is. Please help me with this as Im trying to decide on what ROM to flash. Im super NOOBAFIED . please help and if you can explain to me why you pick the ROM your on.

this is really a question that no one can answer except as why THEY like it.
the best thing you can do is just flash them and use them for a day or 2 and see which one you like the best.
i have ran all the roms for at least 4 days....and im using SolrisPrime now. which im am really liking at the moment.
just try them, they all have there own little things that are different, whether it be Apps, themed, scripts, toggles or whatever else that Dev wants to throw in there.
I think OP has a valid point in asking which is overall most stable.. least bugs. I'm curious on this as well as I've considered flashing a ROM but as from what I've read on them, I couldn't find any that seemed stable and fast enough to justify switching from stock.
Iblike Saurom, I'm gonna try SolarisPrime this week-end but I don't expect something alot better with Solaris than with Saurom. Personally, I make my choice on a theme I like more than on the spec.
saurom seems to be pretty stable. and if you are new in flashing like me then ...i think its good start with saurom....where you can discover new stuff without worrying about phone crashing and bla bla bla...the only problem i saw so far is that you cant turn the phone off ( atleast mine dont turn off completely ) it turns right back on... i was told to go deluxe settings and and uncheck power off.... i did that but it still does that....other then that i havent seen any problems yet....1.9ghz???? i havent seen on my phone yet but other people say that they have seen it.....1.7 on my phone.....my phone has not yet crashed or done anything stupid....you can get 3g 4g with tmobile modems...i got 7mbps on mine ( i am in bad area ) and hope it will increase when i am in good area or when i am near civilization.....hell i am in wyoming....i cant expect anything better then this....roms are like women...take your pick...they will kill you anyways...so what the heck ...be a man and take it....try it and learn how to love them and try to get the best out of it....thats all my friend....dont be scared its just a phone you are talking about...dont be scared...
A search would have told you there is no best rom. And we dont do best rom threads on XDA.
Is there a way to get ICS on the infuse? I read a bit of stuff and couldn't find anything about it... Just got the phone today and I wanna try one of the ASOP roms and I don't quite know how to do this Any help please?
