Hey guys!
I was wondering if anyone has gotten the Steam Mobile app to work on their nook. I've tried and haven't had any success yet. i Would really like to be able to go on Steam on my nook and any help would be appreciated.
thanks so much Xda

Works on mine, I'm on CM7 though
Has worked great for me. Using 1.4.0 rooted with Nexus S build.prop.
Noob question but whats a build.prop ?

Basically, it's how your device gets recognized. For more information on how to change the build.prop, I would take a look at this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398310
Modifying the build.prop to a Droid build has been proven to allow users to have a greater selection of apps to download from the Android Market and others.
I myself can verify that the builds in that thread for Droid3, Droid RAZR, and Nexus S all work on the NT.
Does anyone have a link to an external (non-market) downlaod? I dont have the android market so no easy way for me to get it.

App works perfectly fine for me and I am on 1.4.0 rooted with indirects root method and no B&N stuff removed and no build prop changes.
Yeah i dont have the market! I just would like a link to an external (non-market) download link.

Don't Understand
Why don't you just download it from the market?
It is for my iconia a100 it wont let it download. It says it is incompatable so I downloaded the regular version and when you launch it it takes you to the market to download the tablet version then the market says it is incompatable round and round we go.

I also want it, it isn't listed as compatible with my nook color, but I have rarely found an app that won't work even if market won't install.. so if someone has it please post it!
How do you get the APK of an app? Just use Titanium Backup?

Has anybody yet tried Need for Speed Hot Pursuit from the market on the Nook Color?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
I bought it. Haven't been able to download the rest of the game. I'm hoping to try on my HTC EVO and copying it to the NC. Once I do that, I'll know if it works or not.
Not compatible with ALL my devices. Ugh. What do I mod the build.prop to make it compatible?
I believe that there is different download sizes for different devices out there but I could be wrong. Let me know how it works out.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
It shows as available for download on my NC which is build.prop edited to spoof a SPH-P100. The galaxy tab uses PowerVR video like the NC so it should be compatible (assuming the NC can handle the game).
Make these build.prop changes:
ro.product.model=SPH-P100
ro.product.brand=bn
ro.product.name=SPH-P100
ro.product.device=encore
ro.product.board=encore
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
ro.build.fingerprint=google/passion/passion:2.3.6/GRK39F/189904:user/release-keys
I've tried a lot of different combos of build.prop to try to get this game to work. no luck so far. It installs from the market, but when you go to download the game files it just hangs at 0% forever. Any help is appreciated.
In that case you may have to find the sd card files on the internet. A quick google should take you there. Just make sure you get PowerVR files (unless you want to try CF3d and a different .apk).
OK new update fixed the download problem from EA.
The download for the Nook is 294MB with stock build.prop in CM7.1 and works great.

I bought it and it installed fine.
But sound is interrupted /stutters, video looks good, but tilt to steer does not work at all. So, it's not playable.
Running Rooted stock
It runs fine on my phone, really nice.
Hi all,
Just bought a Logitech Revue but now I want to have the app on my TFP. However, as I'm in the Netherlands I can't download it from the Play Store (us only). Can any USA user help me out by downloading it and post the apk for me?
Thanks!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.logitech.harmonyremote&hl=nl
I have it and while it states it's compatible on the play store, the app itself just opens to a screen saying the device is not supported. It works great on my phone though.

I would love to be able to make real-time "edits" to the build.prop using some kind of scripts. Or somehow make the system look somewhere other than the build.prop for certain apps so you could spoof yourself as a different device without worrying about bricking. Just a cool idea lol I'm no coder, it's likely not even possible.
I'll try and figure out how to upload - have the TB apk back up... unsure what to do next.
I posted in the main forum, I guess more people will need it
let me know if you can download it from there.
Good luck
(Solved) I have hbo go installed have used a few times. Tried to launch it and it says not supported. Any ideas?

When hbogo pushed their ics update they disable tablet support. Not sure why, a lot of angry reviewers pointed out they weren't happy. According to hbo they are in process of fixing issue sometime over next several mpnths. Not sure why it would take so long due to it was working?

I actually had it working after that. My problem is when I select allow non market apps it won't stay that way. It unselects as soon as I back out of settings.

Ok got it working. Went to nthidden settings, hacks allow nonmarket apps. Had to put ext sd card in to launch hbogo.

What ROM are you using? I would like to get the app to work
Thanks

Honestly I'm not sure. I made the ext SD card that rooted it and allows me to switch between stock nook 1.4.2 and adw launcher to access full android etc. After you boot that ext you can remove it but need to put another one for android storage.( figured that out today) I tried to install through market and through browser and it doesn't work.
The key is to have the hidden nt settings and allow unknown source hack. Then get the .apk.
I got it from 4shared.com, install the package and viola!
Go HBO go!

The new version in the Play store now works, as does Max Go.

Have you either used the method posted regarding re-partitioning the nook to get most of the space back that B&N originally screwed us out of with their stupid 1GB user content partition or have you taken it to B&N to re-partition it?
If no, then while the answer is Yes to your original question, you haven't left yourself much room(1GB vs. I think the repartitioning from B&N frees up 8GB).
As for how to save to it, use a file explorer such as ES File Explorer, you need to navigate to favorties, press the phone icon, then choose mnt/media. My card has the Nook created folder structure so I save everything to the appropriate sub-folder found under My Files. Books, documents, magazines, etc etc
How do repartition..i tried using the guides and videos but i couldnt get it....i went into cmd and everything but when i put in adb devices i got a "00000000000 recovery"

There are posts explaining what you need to. If they aren't working for you then your best bet is to back everything up, put it back to the stock OS and take it to B&N for them to do it.
I really just wanted to get cm10 with cwm 6 but i wanted more memory available

You arent getting more memory your getting more space. Memory and storage are 2 different components. After reviewing many of your posts, you need to read A LOT more before you start tackling these upgrades. Without the repartitioning you are leaving a ton of storage off the board so to speak. If I were in your shoes I would, if rooted or custom rom'ed put it to stock and take it to a local store to have them re-partition it. It takes about 10 mins. Then when that is completed and you have a fresh nook so to speak, load CM 10
Thats what i meant.....because there is like 11 gb of space therr just waiting to be used and i cant...

I already have. Follow the post explaining it, as they do an excellent job or take it to B&N if you are having issues with ADB. It isn't for everyone to use, especially beginners just getting the hang of playing around in Android.
But did you ever encounter like code 000000 recovery.....it didnnt even say device...did i do something wrong?

I let B&N repartition mine. The instructions for repartitioning came out about the same time the offer from B&N was available. I had to go past a store so I just made it easy.
This link should have everything you need, If not look up posts by Lavero.Burgos for other helpful posts regarding doing things.

Aside from that note....once you repartition it basically lets you use the like 11 gb of memory thats just there?

If you do it manually, then yes. You'll even be able to choose how much storage you want divided between that data partition and the internal SD card.
So if i manage to repartition sucessfully....if i update my cwm and rom...its still repartitioned and stays repartitioned right?

Yes, that's correct. You're modifying the actual disk where that information is stored.
