Zedge and Passion ICS - Vibrant Themes and Apps

Has anyone else has the problem of Zedge not wanting to play along with ICS?
The app loads fine, but when try to do any type of browsing with it....it just sits there

I have the latest version of passion ics and zedge works fine for me. Make sure your not running any firewalls (such as DroidWall) that could be blocking it.
If that does not help clear the app's cache and data or uninstall and reinstall.

I also am using Zedge on Passion v13 and everything works great. Try uninstalling and re-installing Zedge. Also you could wipe cache/dalvik & fix permissions.

Zedge will load up for me, but it doesn't render the images very well. They come out all blocky, even after they've been downloaded. This problem seems to only happen on Zedge for me.

It happened to me on Passion v12. The app loads fine but when browsing wallpapers it takes a lot of time to show them. I just flashed v13, have to see how it works.

I've never had a problem with apps not working on Passion but yeah install the latest and see if it helps

There is no problem in zedge or ICS passion, try uninstalling and do it again. Iam using zedge from long time.

Zedge
I've had this issue with Zedge. It just hangs on trying to load wallpapers or takes forever to set a wallpaper I've already downloaded. I'll try deleting and reinstalling.

I just wanted to thank the Devs for a great rom. Everything is running well, battery life is good, and I'm getting the best GPS performance that I've ever had with my Vibrant (8~m accuracy within 5 seconds of a cold start, indoors to boot).

Zedge
I still cannot get Zedge working. Uninstalled, wiped date...everything I can think of. It just hangs when trying to find wallpaper.

has any of this happened to any of your apps?
any apps that are blocking Zedge's usage?
Is it updated to the latest version?

This also happens to me with Zedge, glad I'm not the only one. My only solution was uninstalling/reinstalling and even that doesn't fix it every time.

To my knowledge, I don't have this issue with any other apps, wlthough WWF does take longer when playing. I do have adfree installed. Maybe that is causing issues?

possibly, because Zedge has just started using a new way of advertising... which is quite annoying it just shows a whole page of adverts and then theres a small X at the top lol
I use Adfree and its been working for me so i cant guarantee that it will work.

I have latest ICS passion as well and Zedge runs smooth and downloads work fine as well as previewing tones in the app. No problems. Maybe a firewall if on wifi network or a firewall maybe that's installed on phone. Otherwise just try clearing cache under apps and try reinstalling also after a reboot.
Samsung Galaxy S - ICS Passion 13.1 - Android 4.0.3 - XDA Premium App

Also I have ad free and have no issues on newest Zedge so I don't think that's it.
Samsung Galaxy S - ICS Passion 13.1 - Android 4.0.3 - XDA Premium App

When I had passion last week I had no problems. Now I'm on Master ICS and it crashes randomly lol

New Market on Tab

Installed fine on TouchWiz ROM. Can others report if it installs with no issues on stock ROM?
Edit: Took down download link. Not tablet friendly.

Stock 16gb here.
I got it installed
I now have two market apps installed. It did not override the tablet market. Also, I don't have access to the movies section.
I tried it and uninstalled it within a minute or so. Obviously not optimized for tablets. will wait for official release.
Agree...looks good on the cell. Not so much on tablet. But it is working..

yea I have a feeling this is the same apk for both the mobile and tablet because it works better on my TB than my GT 10.1
even then, it is alot slower compared to the previous market so idk if this is worth it just yet
Damn...i broke my market. I uninstalled the new one...old one seemed to work until i try to install an app or load my apps. Then i get a com.Google.android.finsky force close. Ideas anyone?
Edit: a data wipe and restart fixed the issue.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
yes data are not the same so have to clear it before installing the new one or after uninstalling it.
finsky is FC for me
I screwed up my market by installing then uninstalling this and wiping market data in settings and a reboot didn't fix the issue.
Market runs but when I click on the "My Apps" in the upper right I get a FC.
Can anyone send me the market vending files I need to push to my Tab's system/app folder to help me fix?
(and yes I know I am an idiot by not doing a Titanium Backup of Market before installing the new one).

See post #7 - Should do the trick.
Thanks for trying this out and reporting back, guys. I installed it on my Nexus S without issue but decided not to pull the trigger on my tab.
Looks great on MT4G. I will wait to install on my GT10.1

[Q] Market is broken on CM7....

Data and WiFi work fine but when I try to load the market it just has the loading circle and that's it. It will do that forever.
Any ideas to fix this BS?
First force close the market and open it up again from running apps area and or from the downloads in settings.
Have you tried a fresh reflash of CM7? The market shouldn't do that. My market works great with CM7.

I'm not sure if its my phone specifically or the fact the Vibrant doesn't run ICS natively, but Chrome force closes on every attempt to open it. I've cleared app data, wiped davlik, rebooted and still no avail.
Anyone else have these problems? Any known cause why this is force closing?

FCs and buggy on vibrant turk rom. Going to have to reboot and see.
On passion v12. Smooth as butter.
This kind of sucks, but they said previously they were done developing for mobile.

Passion V12 as well. Only thing that comes to mind with why it isn't working is that I have Google 2-Step verification enabled and there may be bugs with that. Going to turn 2-Step off to help rule that out.

Have the same setup. Please let us know

i had issues with 2-step verification as well on this device and my nook. i turned it off. its more trouble than its worth. i'm not stashing nuclear launch codes or my bank account number in my email anyway. plus i keep my passwords pretty convoluted anyway
I flashed over to ICSSGS ROM last night so can't give a clear answer if 2-Step verification was causing the crashes or not on Passion. FWIW, Chrome Beta works fine on this ROM with 2-Step enabled.

@meamgood
It's definitely annoying not to have flash on such an anticipated Google release, but most developers I talk to seem to agree that we should all just let Flash die off.

RIP Flash.
Thats what you think. There are a lot of webs with Flash. They do not want to spend money and time to implement HTML5.

it just doesnt make sense... how could that effect a app like that?
Removing something like Sense which is pretty much built into the rom OS can affect things like this. Not saying this is the cause, but if you haven't done anything else to the rom, it's likely the problem.

no thats not true at all... sense isnt the OS its the launcher...i and i used the Rom Cleaner txt file it lets you know what you can and cannot remove...and the widget still works but it wont let me go in the actual app.
I noticed this the other day. My widget didn't work and the app force closed. I restored a backup, I'll host the apk and link it here
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda app-developers app
You're talking about Google Play Music right? For any FC my first fix is wiping data for that app. Removing Sense has nothing to do with that app. If you're talking about the default HTC sense music player, the only thing that would be affected when removing Sense is you'll have no widget.
Yes Google Music and I did that and the normal Music works fine but widget like you said...I really need my Google Music

Strange. Usually any app FC I get it cured by a data wipe of that app. My only other suggestion would be wipe data and uninstall Play Music, fresh install your ROM and setup how you want it and then install Play Music. I know that's kind of a long process, but I see your doing some ROM development so your probably used to it now.
Yeah I mean I been doing that actually full wipes and testing everything and this is the only problem I can't fix.
Also the updated YouTube app does the same thing instant FC.

I just cleared app data/cache and I think that fixed my problem.
I just went into maps and messed around for a couple of minutes and exited out and everything was ok.
Before, my phone rebooted when exiting out of app.
Hopefully that's the fix
Thanks
I'm also getting this issue. I tried to clear cache and data for the app but it still hotboots

reboots, too
Am on stock ICS and Maps reboots my Zound every time I move around in it.
Cleaning cache no help.
Will be looking for another Maps update in a day or so!
running fine on viper rom
My phone is rebooting about 30 secs after loading Maps, going to just uninstall the update
Same things happening to me, sense restarting I can deal with. But this..

Restarts here too. I started a thread in the Apps section because I didn't see this one here.
Mine happens most frequently after trying to use Latitude, Local or My Places.
I'm glad I stumbled across this thread... I thought it was just me..I was afraid (despite running a RUU and doing a complete wipe of my phone prior to the ICS update) that it was the ROM. I haven't had issues with the Map application itself so much as I am using the 'Local' app. That's what causing my phone to soft reboot.
I'm having this issue over on the One X as well. I ended up sideloading the previous version of the Maps app from the link below:
http://www.iapktop.com/google-maps-6-9-2.html
there are 3 thread on this topic.... XD
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30345889&postcount=15
im going to ask this here too. someone with the problem please send me a logcat
maps works fine on my device and would like to help you ppl out.
viper rom, updated to latest RUU, AR 3.15 recovery 2.27 Hboot.
Hmm I was just about to return my phone for this issue. thank you all for letting me know i'm not alone on this, guess Verizon will be flooded on this Google should fix it soon then.
Go in setup/apps and uninstall updates for maps. Make sure to UN check auto updates.
