[Q] CallRec MOD in ICS - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys! Maybe someone can help me.. Many of Ginger-bread ROMs had a CallRec mod that look like stock button. I found it very convinient and useful; and now I searching through ICS ROMs and found none of them with CallRec. Is it possible to add one from GB to ICS? is there any ICS ROM that has it? Thanks!

A its a question = wrong forum
B a search would have found exact same question posted two days ago
C ICS is not yet released so dev probably waiting for a release of ICS

What?
ICS sources are available, and there is a couple of leaks of Samsung roms.

We won't have an integrated call recording mod till ICS is released in an especific asian country (China?) where the call recordign feature is included in stock roms.
Once it's released there we just would have to copy two lib files and two apk files from their rom.

How to enable Live Wallpaper support?

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone's got any clue on how to enable Live Wallpaper support in 2.1 ROMs that don't have it be default? ROMs like CronosDroid or latest VillainROM 10?
I don't use SenseUI so it's not a biggie that these two are not compatibile with each other. I also did have it working on VR6.2.1 but since there's plenty ROMs based on official Hero release coming out now I think it's time to move to something more recent - at least until release of anything based on Froyo.
So, all in all is there an apk application to enable it or some simple sh scripts or adb commands? Anyone? ^__^
I think many (or all) of the official 2.1 rooted roms for the hero dont include live wallpapers because the hero 2.1 rom does not have them where as if you flashed a desire rom you would have them but i dont know anyway of enabling them maybe check if livewallpapers.apk is installed then try and enable them using another software that supporrts them eg. launcher pro

Well, I've seen it working in official based latest Androbin and will test flash latest official based ezHero today as well - apparently it has LW support too.
I am not claiming that these are better ROMs than those that don't support it out-of-the-box. No, I am test running all the ROMs I can get my hands on to finally decide on one and stick to it until unofficial 2.2 gets ported to Hero. ^__^

Currently running EzHero 1.2.1 so no need for that no more but I _DO_ test many different ROMs and it will come in handy there and then. Thank you! ^__^

[Q] Android 2.3.6 for Galaxy S2?

Hi Guys,
Terrible newbie question here; I have searched briefly but haven't found an answer.
Is Android 2.3.6 available for the Galaxy S2? I'm still on 2.3.3 and am bored of waiting for OTA updates.
I've seen that there is a 2.3.5 ROM available here on these forums but don't see the point in upgrading to that now then 2.3.6 is out...
Can anyone help me with my question for up-to-dateness?
Thanks.
2.3.4 just released today in some Nordic countries, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269607. Then 2.3.5, 2.3.6...
So why did you search about 2.3.6? Update to 2.3.4 first!

I was just going by Wikipedia which says the current Android version is 2.3.6....
Is there any indication from Samsung when they'll be pushing out 2.3.4 to the UK devices?
I would love to get a basic installation really without all of the Samsung crap on it. :\

Actually the current Android version is 2.3.7 for NFC capable devices, stop thinking about official 2.3.6, they barely launched official 2.3.4 for northern europe.
I'm in Spain southern Europe and still no 2.3.4. But I have had a few 2.3.3 updates which is fine by me. I love this phone.

Nope, european version doesn't have NFC, only korean and an american version if i'm not mistaking.
Just for future references, Google releases new Android OS versions, it first shows up in Nexus Phones. Then, manufacturers need to get the lastest OS to build their new ROM around it with their own skin/theme. This typically takes couple months and then a new ROM leaked or released. So, typically you will see a new Samsung ROM about 6 months later. You can't download or install Android OS directly. You have to wait for OEM to built it.

Yahhh ??? ... when I read about SGS2 Cyanogenmod 7.1 "stable" version ... many reports about bug here and there!!!
So for me latest official SGS2 ROM is really stable and I'm happy about TouchWiz
But ... when Samsung stops supporting SGS2 I will get a "phone after live" using Cyanogenmod for sure
2.3.7..

Difference between KP8 and LP2

Hi guys
I've found ICS 4.0.3 on LP2 and KP8
But what are the differences? Both 4.0.3 ICS?
Oli
And LP6... I've no idea
You could read the threads on both the roms .
But they are both leaked beta buggy test roms .
Essentially and simply L comes after K and 2 comes earlier than 8 making K8 an earlier leak one presumes that with each update a few improvments are made and their a less bugs .

Essentially having to ask that question and failing to search you should wait for ICS release from Samsung to save you posting help i want to remove ICS its broke my phone .

[Q] Which is Better GB or ICS?

Hello,
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 having Gingerbread FIrmware XXKG3
i m new to android. i want to know is ICS is better then Gingerbread,
if yes, can any1 provide me official latest firmware of ICS which doesnt contacin any bugs.
i saw in some forum that some negative review abt camera n bettery life in ICS, please clear me that ICS is better option or GB.
and please give me Latest Official ICS firmware which doesnt contain any bugs for my Galaxy S2
thankyou
Froyo pawns them both!
There is NO official ICS. Like the rest of the world we have to wait until this is officially available.
Expermiment with the beta's if you like but MAKE SURE you READ everything and know how to get out of sticky situations.
Stick with GB.
GB works ICS works in parts .
But ICS is beloved of noobs that dont have a clue and choose to flash a buggy beta test rom as their first ever flash and then cry help .
Their is no official only leaked buggy beta test builds and some custom roms based on that leak . Easy to find just search the forum .

Palm OS. 10 c
For now GB is better but when offical ics arrives it will be way more better

first-->stock based roms are based on official released roms provided by sony but with the effort of developers they are usually smoother and less bugs are in there (by tweaks and scripts and etc)
second-->you can find in dev section

IMP: The above mentioned ROMS require the Neo patch to be installed after the original ROM.. So don't forget that, otherwise your camera may be affected!
PS. All the ROMS are in the Dev section..
@iamdchosen1 @hossein7292 thanks a ton
P.S. Thanks button punched
