[Q] Cannot restore system app(MotoCast) using Titanium Backup - Motorola Droid RAZR

I stupidly uninstalled Motocast and MotoID using TitaniumBackup pro, when I try to restore them back, TiBu just hangs there.
I have tried turning on USB debugging mode and changing the app processing mode in TiBu to auto/Indirect,but no luck.
I have also tried using Root explorer to put the backed up apk into system/apps folder and install from there.
Here is what TiBu backed up:
-com.motorola.motoconnect.apk and
-com.motorola.blur.provider.motorola.apk
and there are no .odex files backed up.
Could this be why I failed to install the apks through root explorer?
If possible, could someone please upload the stock ROM for 651.73.240.XT910.Rogers.en.CA?
I have searched almost anywhere for days but couldn't find a solution.
Any help is much appreciated!!

Figure anything out? I have same issue with another system app.

I believe one of these will work but dont know all the codes as GSM Roms work for multiple regions.

You could put in other regions fast boot
FiLe.. I had a similar problem where I accidentally removed a system file, tibu can't restore it, it just hanged. Installed a fastboot file via rsd, and it worked.. Managed to update via ota.

[Q] The Sims 3 deletion Problem

So I rooted my phone today, got Titanium Backup and Root Manager. Before I started mass uninstalling the bloatware, I tested it first. I made a backup of Airhorn, then went into the system files and deleted the .apk. Then I restored it in Titanium Backup and viola, it's back. So i tried one of the bloatware programs, The Sims 3. I backed it up, then deleted the .apk in the datatmo/games/ea folder. I try to restore, and it says restore data only, Airhorn I could restore App+Data. Now the Sims 3 icon is still there, but gives me this error: There is a problem parsing the package.
So I can't restore it, and the icon is still there. Can i get the .apk file back and have a way to back it up so I can restore it in the case that I need to install it again? Or did I screw up?
Anyone? Please?
Hmmm well I do have both apks Sims 3 requires to run but would it be considered pirating if I posted a link? I'm fairly certain other phones would be able to run it.
Well I got the .apk, but now i have two shortcuts to the game and they both work, now I dunno what files to backup so i can delete them and back them up, whats the name of the two files?
Sims3_Samsung_Embed_Launcher.apk and The_Sims_3.apk
Thanks, all good now
Good greef same problem here. Someone please help me get the Sims back please.
what is the fix for this issue? I have the same problem.. too...

No apps will install after using Odin?

Search didn't turn up anything. I used this thread
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/...ur-vibrant-and-return-to-stock-phone-pc-error
to recover from a soft brick, now I'm trying to re-root so I can restore my nandroid backup but no apps are installing. Can't install rom manager, titanium, etc. It immediately says download was unsuccesful with no reasoning. Internet is working fine over wifi. Any suggestions?
I also just disabled wifi and tried it from the mobile network, still no go. I don't know what to do now. Please help!
Also I did not restore any apps yet, and I have tried clearing the cache in a list of several apps I found on another thread having the same issue (including market) which did not work.
I think I've found a way around this by downloading the apps I needed (one click root and ROM manager) onto my droid and copying the .apk files over, so I can get around this problem, but can someone explain to me what I did wrong?

[Q] N00b mistake of deleting apps using Titanium Backup... need pro-level help (:

So I finally got my Transformer Prime and rooted it manually using the NachoRoot method because I wanted to get rid of all the ASUS bloat apps. After I rooted it, I installed Titanium Backup (free version cause my Market account is broke right now with purchases stuck in the Pending state) and since I couldn't use the "Freeze" function with the free version, my n00bness thought that if I backed them up first using Titanium Backup, then deleted them, that Titanium Backup would be able to restore them, but I found out the hard way, that wasn't the case... I've since read that it will only restore them if the app is still on the device.
So, my question to the people with more wisdom then myself is...
Is there a manual way to get those apps back on there via the backups that TiBa made?
I tried unarchiving them and manually putting the .apk's back in /system/app/ folder, but I noticed that the .odex file I don't have anymore and they're not showing up in the app drawer just putting the .apk files in there by themselves.
Is there anyone that would be so gracious as to do a full dump of the /system/app/ folder on the 8.8.3.33 build so I can just put the .apk's and .odex's back in there using Root Explorer?
My goal is to get those back in there the way it came stock and go back to using the Freeze method so it doesn't remove them so I don't have any issues when the ICS update hits.
Thanks in advance for anyone who chimes in to help!

i experience with Tbu is that you can batch add apps and their data regardless of whether you have them on the device or not... thats the whole point of it
and there is a dumb i believe in the development area... if i had my cable at work i woulda done it
but as long as you backed up in Tbu, just batch install them all
System dump: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1418487
Also, next time do a NAND backup of possible.
You could always reflash your ROM too.
And yes, Titanium backup keeps all the files you backed up in a folder. So even if you removed it from your device. Titanium has a copy on your SD card.
Thanks for the reply.
When I go into the batch section (I'm now on the paid version of TiBa), if I go into "Restore all apps with data" or "Restore missing apps with data", those both show nothing in the list to restore... but I know they're there cause I see them on the SD card in the TitaniumBackup folder and if I do a "Verify all your backups", they all show up.
I take it I'm missing something or am in the wrong menu?

means you didn't restore them, really.
or something is wrong with the app
Can you restore without data.

No, does the same thing as when I try to restore with data... just sits there saying "restoring" but I can let it go for 10 minutes on just one app and I eventually just force quit it since I know it's not doing anything.

Okay, so I downloaded that dump (thank's for the link)... so if I just put in the .apk and .odex for each app TiBa removed, will that do it? Is there anything else attached to each app that would go anywhere else besides the user data (which I don't want anyway)?
If you see tbu app backup stuff on your memory card you may need to go into the settings menu of tbu and change backup folder location to the place where that folder is on your sd

how would you do a NAND backup without booting into ClockworkMod? Unless i've missed it somewhere that is not yet available on Primes, and there are no ROMS available as of yet.

Okay, so I downloaded that system dump and tried taking the apk and odex for AppLocker (one I had removed with TiBa) and put them in /system/app/ and set the permissions the same as the other apps in the app folder and restarted the device... AppLocker doesn't show up in the app drawer
Any ideas why?

And how would I flash an update if it's already on the latest version from ASUS?
You should be able to push the apk to system to data - the odex should be created in dalvik_cache on boot (you need to rename them if you want to move them into /system)
what happens if you just run the apk? will it not install itself?

my tablet will flash the latest manual update on itself
have you tried putting .33 on an sd card and doing a manual update. I know you already have it on, but if you put it on the sd card, it usually asks again if you want to update.

[Q] Urgent Help needed (deleted apps)

I have a problem that is causing me a lot of stress and have been unable to think of and find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Today a friend of mine was looking through my phone and commented at how my internal storage was almost gone. He said that he could free up some space and so I obliged, as he knew his way around phones quite well. He was looking through a folder and commented that there were some .apk files that could be deleted to free up space. Thinking they were files I had gotten from downloads, I said it was OK to delete them. This was my mistake, as I should have asked where exactly these files were. He deletes the files and my internal storage frees up a few dozen megabytes. This is where everything went to hell. As soon as he finished deleting those .apk files applications start force closing one after another. Thinking it was a glitch he shuts down and restarts the phone. Upon restart, I find ALL my applications gone. The icons are gone and when clicking a spot where an application used to be, it says application not found.
My phone is rooted using DooMLoRD Easy Rooting Toolkit.
I HAD Titanium Backup (root) installed before this mess started.
I HAD rootexplorer installed as well.
Upon further investigation, my friend told me that he had deleted these .apk files from the phone memory under a data folder. He couldn't get more specific than that. He accessed these files through rootexplorer.
I seriously don't know what to do and am about to cry.
I thought that by reinstalling google play and titanium backup I'd be able to restore these applications but I can't even install the downloaded .apks from the internet. Tried putting it on my SD card and opening it but it doesn't recognize any program to install. I thought of using the Sony Ericsson PC Companion to install the .apks but don't know how my phone will be affected since it's been rooted using DooMLoRD's method.
Someone please help. I'm still a newbie with all of this and don't really know what I'm doing. Searches for similar problems on the internet haven't proven useful at all. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Okay. You need to loose all your data. Take back up of contacts. It should be possible with the stock contacts app. And your msgs if you want.
Then do a factory reset. You will need to download your apps all over again. And if you had taken back up using titanium backup, you will be able to reinstall titanium back up after the factory reset. And you can restore things.
Thanks,
Rick

Your solution worked. Lost some data restoring a Titanium backup a couple days old but it's better than having everything missing. Thanks!

Need help restoring a backup file to my phone.

I'm new to this forum so i don't know wether i'm posting this in the right sub but i need help with restoring my phone's data. I stupidly used wondershare's "dr fone" to backup all my data on the computer which created a 15.9 gb .bak file. Problem is i didn't know that in order to restore this to your phone you had to have a subscription, before i wiped my phone. Now i am left with the aforementioned .bak file and i would like to know if there are any free pc applications that can restore all my data to the phone using this file. Thanks in advance.
Have you had a look at this thread?

Hi, thanks for replying. I just took a look. I tried a few other apps from google play since appbak was no longer on there, unfortunately none of them were able to use the file (I copied the .bak file from my pc to my phone's internal storage). I then found an old version of appbak through chrome and installed it but it also couldn't use the .bak file to restore my data. Eventually I tried restoring it through my phone's settings like a couple of people recommended but the only backup setting I could find was "Backup by Google One" (because my phone runs on Android One, which is focused on Google Services) and I could not use a local file to start restoring. At this point I might just try to restore my data manually but any further help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
