cm7 + naa kernel for xperia x10 mini pro: BOOTLOOP - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

ok i followed this thread:
developer forum
i got my phone rooted, i got the bootloader unlocked and confirmed its unlocked (small 'r' in s1tool output). i can get the naa kernel to boot and install the cm7 mini mod and the google apps, but im stuck in bootloop. and yes i wiped everything and redownloaded and reflashed propably 7 times now. i dont know what im doing wrong, the only 'error' i see is something about mkfs ext4 stuff in naa recovery program..
ANY hint/tip/is welcome ?
also, is there another ROM worth checking out for the x10 mini pro ?

You dont have to download and install those google apps if you dont want to right ?

You need to flash it not download google apps which is going to be needed for the rom to work. other than that no need to add any more google apps from the market

i dont know why, but it works with latest release 2.19 and -11 kernel. hooray
thanks for the help, tho

after you've done flashing nAa kernel and restart your phone, did you press back button several times.?

If you don't flash Google apps you'll not have Market installed. Try 2011-06-13 signed version and after that remove unwanted apps and update all apps to latest versions. This particular version of gapps is most stable on my phone. I had problems too with other versions.

Same here stuck at bootloop with naa anyone care to let us know how to fix?
Thanks.

Hi,
I had the same problem in u20i. The problem was in the baseband. I had flashed the kernel in the wrong baseband.
Check if you have the right baseband. Reflash the original rom and update via seus first and then try flashing nAa kernel.
This worked for me. Good luck.

For those of you stuck at booloop, this IS important. You have to make sure you are on baseband 015 for the ROM to work. If you can't check 'cause you're stuck, try downloading and flashing it anyway. If it boots, bingo, you were on the wrong version. If not, then the issue is something else

The error is probably with the rom and not with the kernel, because with the stock rom works perfectly...
After flashing this kernel my neo v gets rooted on .62 stock ROM ....
but will this rooted ROM work if i change the kernel to something else like nightelf stock kernel .... ???
or have anyone tested it yet ???

Root privileges are integrated in this kernel. So you will not stay rooted almost for sure, if you flash another kernel which is not prerooted...

You will be able to update normally to ICS using PC companion, but to be ablolutely sure, you better relock your bootloader before the update...
@bbooff: few days ago I flashed ICS beta from sony page, and I used your kernel for hot boot just so I can install zip with superuser stuff.
Today I flashed stock .62fw, and wanted to hot boot with your kernel, but no luck, I needed to flash it in order to boot into CWM.
You got any idea why id did cooperate on ICS and not on clean .62
Also I couldn't do factory reset while I was using your kernel. I guess that is kinda normal as it's not stock kernel, but still I thought it should work

I have no idea!
The opposite is what should had happened.
I think that if you reinstall 0.62 (using flashtool and not wotan) and then my kernel, everything will be o.k.
If you install a custom kernel, you can do a factory reset through the cwm menu.

Actually I did used flashtool.
After I flash your kernel I can enter cwm. problem is if I try hot boot it.
and about factory reset, I know we can do it via recovery, but is it normal that we can't do it from phone?

fastboot boot boot.img
it allows you to boot with kernel without flashing it.
your kernel is very good.... simple and easy... helped me restore my phone back...
But now i am facing one more problem...
whenever I try to install any other kernel through fastboot, that kernel does not work; instead your kernel starts booting up...
Can you please throw some light on it?
Thnx

How can I revert this? Is there any metod of flashing original software through windows instead of the recovery on the phone itself?

Which ROM did you choose? If you chose MiniCM7 by nAa it won't work on the stock kernel. You have to either flash a ROM that states to work on stock kernel, or flash the kernel that is recommended by the ROM you chose.

If you want to taste GingerBread, go with BPaul's MiniCM7Pro ROM, install it the way you installed MiniCM7, but that one will run on stock kernel. Only downside is that it's a bit slow.
You can speed it up a bit by using These modules.
When you've donwloaded the ROM, open it up with 7-zip or Winrar (don't use the windows native way, it will mess up the proper compression, rendering the ROM unflashable), then navigate to /system/lib/modules and replace the ones in there with the ones from this zip.
After that, install it through CWM onto your phone. Good luck

This is true, didn't think about that. The thing is, on the custom kernel used with MiniCM7, CWM is built-in, so there is no need for it to be in the ROM. that is why you lost it. You should be able to just install it again though, but maybe it's best to do a repair with SUS or PC Companion first and then go though the steps again.

You're on the SE logo when you boot up the phone, so you CAN do everything with it in regards to repairing firmware (SUS is Sony Update Service, used to be SEUS, Sony-Ericsson Update Service).
And don't be a ****, you've opened a thread here for your problem, and you're getting help, so there is no need in posting the same question again in a different thread.

As long as you don't mess with the bootloader and custom kernels, there is no chance of actually bricking this phone beyond repair There is always a way out.

[Q] Did i broke my Neo V?

Hello!
I am totally noob.
What i done since i bought my phone:
For 1 year nothing but now i wanted to get the cleanest ROM with lastest CM. So i downloaded http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613 this program to remove or unlock [i dont know] bootloader and did it, i think i did it. So later i downloaded random ROM to install on my Xperia Neo V, this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139136 to install it i used the same program i used before [SE Bootloader Unlocking v1.6 by quangnhut123] cos i seen there a button FLASH, everything went good i think. So i turn my phone on and started waiting for like 5minutes and thought that wont work, then i downloaded a Fusion Kernel [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926299] and then again that earlier ROM. But again it didnt want to start. I think CM Recovery is working becouse i entered to him.
And thats it. I dont rooted that phone, maybe this is the problem?
If someone can help me and tell me step by step what to do now i will be greatful. Sorry for my english
Thanks

From what i know, if you're using CM10.1 (Android 4.2.2), Fusion kernel is not compatible, you have to use the kernel provided in the rom archive (boot.img). Kernel, recovery, root and bootloader are the base terms in Android world, if you don't know what they mean, you should learn, or stay with the phone untouched (remain with the software provided by Sony). One thing is sure: nothing has happened to the phone. And for flashing a kernel, you have to use FASTBOOT mode, in Flashmode it's not going to work.

You should flash the kernel INSIDE thezip (inside the rom archive, there's something called boot.img or something like that) Extract it, and flash it using Flashtools.

I'm a bit puzzled by your flashtool output, even when installing the JB rom on the stock kernel you should still have root access, so I don't know what happened there.
I would suggest this kernel, but you may have to go through flashing back to original 2.1 firmware and go through the rooting process again.
So how to back original firmware will you please elaborate it?.I don't know about reverting.
Bro I reverted my phone to its original firmware by flashing. But dislike its original firmware.please provide me the correct firmware zip of MiniJB or ICS.I also reached at nAa recovery.

If you can flash that kernel i linked to you can use the jbmini firmware you already had with that.
