Android 3 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I'm a new here and i want to say hello to everyone !
I'm a SG2 user. My friend told me that android 2.3.5 doesn't support dual core processor of SG2 and uses only 0ne processor. Is that true? Always i was told that android 3 supports dual core processors and samsung galaxy s2 must work faster. Is there android 3 version rom on SG2? Thank you =)

Your friend has no idea what he's talking about, and Android 3 is for tablets.

Hi, I'm new here too
AFAIK 2.3.5 partially supports dual core. Android 3 is for tablets only and fully supports dual-core processors. Android 4 will be for phones and tablets, with full support for multi-core processors. We all are waiting for ICS

And android 4 is really just around the corner for sgs2 users.

Just enjoy your device. It will get the official ICS (Android 4.0) update soon as far as I know. It will be an OTA update, and you will get ice cream sandwich with no problems.
Talking about the usage of the cores requires a deep knowledge. Don't trust in everyone. Read and study by yourself instead. Welcome to the Android world, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Samsung unveils the Galaxy Ace Plus

source:-http://www.zdnet.co.uk/blogs/tech-tech-boom-10017860/samsung-galaxy-ace-plus-heads-for-uk-10025134/
samsung has announced the Galaxy Ace Plus, which slots in just above its predecessor in the Galaxy range, adding a better processor and larger screen.
The device was announced by the Korean company on Tuesday and will ship to customers in Russia first, beginning in January, and will then be "gradually rolled out" to Europe, Latin America, Asia, China and other regions, Samsung said.
"In 2012, we will continue to make every effort to create an easy and fun mobile experience by expanding our incredibly popular GALAXY smartphone range, which is now one of the most recognized and successful mobile brands in the world," JK Shin, president of IT & mobile at Samsung, said in a statement.
The Galaxy Ace Plus will join more expensive and higher specified devices in the Galaxy range, such as the Galaxy S, S II, Ace and Mini.
The Ace Plus features an upgraded processor — up to 1GHz from 800MHz in the Ace — 5-megapixel camera, 3.65-inch display and 3GB of onboard storage. It also offers smartphone staples including Wi-Fi, HSPDA connectivity and pre-loaded social networking features via Samsung's Social Hub and ChatON services.
Like some other lower-end Android devices such as the Wildfire S, the handset will arrive running the Gingerbread — Android 2.3 — operating system with Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz UI atop. However, higher-end devices are now available to buy that use the newer Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) version of Android.
The device will also have to fend off competition from Chinese manufacturers like ZTE and Huawei, which want to increase their consumer recognition and smartphone market share in the European market using devices running the Android OS.
Pricing for the Galaxy Ace Plus has not yet been disclosed.

There doesn't seem to be a specific section for Ace Plus on XDA-Developers....
Do ROMs and stuff from the Galaxy Ace work on Galaxy Ace plus?
Or there is specific related stuff to this?

[Q] China Phone ics4.09 dual sim

hello eveyone. I was in china and bought a galaxy note knock off.
Android Version 4.0.9
Release codename rel
Brand YUSU
hardware MT6573
Board e1108_V73_jbaol1g18
Dual sim.
Could anybody help me with rooting this phone please. i have had alook on the forums and it appears no one has one of these.
FYI a new version of this Phone is due for release towards the end of april.
it will have a 1.2GHZ processor dual sim and ICS
Try searching online. You probably won't have any luck posting here as probably no one owns those kind of knock off phones in this forum.
Out of curiosity though, did you know it was fake or did you buy it thinking that it was a Samsung galaxy note?

Rooting unofficial versions of the OS are tricky mainly when most knock offs don't really have the specs it says it does. And the OS is not one Google released
Try searching in russian forums like 4pda.ru & china-iphone.ru
it might help you.....
if you find an answer there post it here ...it will help others like you!!
Best of luck!!

[Q] Android L for Samsung S3 maybe?

Hi
Came across an article which states that Samsung will be producing a low-spec smartphone for sale in third-world countries
According to this article, the specs are quite low...with the handset only having about 1Gb memory
It also states that this handset will come out with Kit Kat, but will update shortly after release to Android L
My question is this....how is it possible they can update a brand new unit with the same specs as the Galaxy S3..., yet still remain ignorant of the S3 itself (which is most probable the most widely used handset I know of here)
Surely if they can get Android L running on this smartphone (Android One), then we could possible port it to the S3?

[SM-G357FZ] REQUEST: Cyanogenmod 11 or 12 for Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 SM-G357FZ

Hi,
there is anyone avaiable to develop a Cyanogen Mod 11 or 12 ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 SM-G357FZ?
The model with 1,2 Ghz Quad core 64-bit processor, 1 GB of RAM and LTE technology, it's perfect for Lollipop or Marshmallow
Thanks in andvance!
Would love this also, as just brought one 2nd hand for family member whom is stuck in dark ages of the original Ace.
Nice little fast phone for £20, mint condition aswell.
I see the G357FZ has little support, i think merely due to it being the newer model of teh range.
If no success, i will remove bloatware and keep original rom.
Best wishes
I would also like a ROM for my sister's phone.
She usually finds it slow with some wifi problems and she has always wished for a Lollipop or Marshmallow ROM.
A ROM would make her day.
Thanks for Listening
