[Q] Syncing Without USB Cord? - HTC EVO 3D

Is there a way i can sync music from my laptop to my EVO 3D without using a USB cable? All of my USB ports on my laptop have been smashed. Is there a way to use Wifi to share files from my EVO to my PC?

Personally i use Dropbox when transferring files.
It can also be used with DropSync, which does 2-way sync, both from PC-phone and phone-PC

airsync with doubletwist works great

Has Google Music already been forgotten? Although, I don't think it's make available offline option let's you actually download the music, just cache it...

[Q] Streaming movies from PC to Evo 3D

I don't know if this has been posted yet. I had searched and didn't find anything.
I am trying to stream movies from my PC with windows 7 to the 3D. Every time I search for media devices, it says no devices found. I think I have everything set up on the computer right but it still won't connect.
Thanks in advance!

I thought you can only stream from your phone to PC and not the other way round.
when i'm at home, i just use cifs manager to mount my windows shared folders.
this allows me to play (stream) the videos via wifi as if they were on my sd card
Try to use SimpleSync or Skifta. they seem to work
Make sure that media sharing is on on your computer

Have a look at the guide I wrote a while back. Might just help you out.

PC-> Evo streaming
This isn't exclusive to the evo but Plex is an application that can do it. Just install the computer and android version. After it catalogs your desired folders or entire hard drive it will stream it.
Awesome! Thanks a lot guys. I appreciate all the helpful responses!
Now, are there any apps that will allow me to stream movies from my PC at home to my phone at work? Both are connected to wifi.

You could try Orb. Not sure what quality you'd get, not used it for a few years but if memory serves me right it transcodes on the fly to flash format so you can watch movies on your phone via a flash enabled browser. I used it for a bit on a wii before homebrewing it.

something like tversity ?

Would this allow 3d movies to be steamed? That is really the only thing I would want to steam and I have a ton of them. Way too many to put on my 32GB sd card. I have already filled twice and had to delete a bunch of stuff.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Yeah, I know what you mean about not enough space on a 32gb SD
Thinking about buying one of those 64gb cards.
Tbh I've not tried tversity with this phone yet, but i believe it transcodes to flash, so might work seeing as we can view 3D YouTube vids *shrug*

mp3 playlist question... newb.

ok so i was wondering if there is a way for my rooted galaxy s2 to be picked up in itunes???? or if i can build playlist on my computer and have the saved playlist show up already as a playlist on my phone??? (hope that makes sense..) i am getting annoyed of building and naming them on my phone.
thanks.
Nope. You can thank apple for that. Nearly everything Google has done works with Mac products in one way or another. Nearly nothing from apple works with anything else.

Dam.... well what about creating a playlist while my phones connected to my computer? I just hate how I have to make the playlists on my phone and I have to search for the music and add to the playlist.

Looks like some programs have come out to work around that:

You can use Songbird on your computer as a replacement for iTunes. Install Device addon to specify what formats your phone supports and to where to sync (in MSC mode). Then create playlists in it and sync with your device. Another option is Winamp but it wasn't good for me.
Edit: You can even use WMP if phone is connected in MTP mode, but WMP has limited format support.
Or if you want to use iTunes, use something like iSyncr.
thanks guys imma give this a try later today.
ok so double twist is what i need and anyone else who wants to transfer there playlist and not have to rebuild them manually on their handset. you can download it here for your computer.
http://doubletwist.com/
and download the player in the market (free) and works great so far.
thanks gr8hairy1 and DeXel55 for assisting me with this problem.
Indeed. Thanks for reporting back with what you ended up choosing.

How is this better/different than the current HTC Connected Media App or HTC Media Share? I use the Connected Media App all the time to play my pics/music/videos to my Sony Bravia TV. The only issue is that the TV needs the decoding is done on the TV side and therefore some files will not play. Is this different?
Bcuz you don't need to be on a sence rom like myself or others that hate sence

i'm not familar with how the ip4/bionic performs wifi music sync. the method i've been using, which has worked very well, is to use google music. there is a music manager application for windows/mac/linux which allows you to upload all your mp3/music files to the "cloud" and linked with your google account. once they're uploaded, you can download from any device with a web browser/internet connection or thru google music app/internet connection.
hope that helps!
Well with the ip4 when you charge at night it would sync with your Itunes via WiFi that your pc or mac is connected to stop if I bought music apps etc on my phone it would put them on my pc and of I got them on my pc or mac it would put them on my phone it was realy convenient . Stop I figured ics would have that feature out of the box

You can simply do that via ADB.
Just enable USB Debugging on your watch connect it via USB to your PC and search how to correctly use "adb push" to transfer files
Can't give you a guide now sadly, I'm on my phone.

I have no idea how to do that but I am reading about it to know more. For some reason my LG G Watch is not installing drivers properly. I think I may need to download the entire SDK to use adb. But thanks for responding.

Here you can find a little guide how to do so over your Smartphone via Bluetooth. It's slow tho, only ~50KB/s so this would take a long time for larger files.
If you want to connect your SmartWatch directly via ADB and USB to your PC you need something like an "LG ADB Driver". I found one but only after an hour of searching or so... I don't have it here at work sadly.
At least that's the only one that worked for me.
I have successfully pushed some songs into my watch and they are playable through es file explorer but haven't checked with bluetooth headfones bcoz i don't have them yet, but how did u made the play music play the songs on the device

I didn't play them "on the watch", I connected my Bluetooth Speaker (which you can see in the background) and then connected my PC to those so I can record the audio.
After messing about a bit with Google Play Music and trying to get it work, I gave up on that and just went the ES File Manager route as well. Working great with the built-in media player!
Too bad I can't find a music player that'll work (GMMP and Apollo don't, just FCs).
I got this to work. I had music that I had uploaded to Google cloud using their program on my computer. That's the only music that seems to be able to be downloaded to the watch using Google play music app on the phone. I'm assuming music purchases from Google play will work too. Idk about that tho cuz I've never bought from them.

Hey can you check in which folder the downloaded music goes in watch so if we directly copy our music into that place it may work

In case anyone runs into the problem where music is playing, but you don't hear anything, just repeatedly type in "adb shell input keyevent 24" and hit enter a few times. For some reason, occasionally when I factory reset the watch, its volume goes on mute. This just increases the volume.
