Anyone having problems with the Google Voice widget crashing? After awhile, my widget is just blank. Removing it and then re-adding the widget works but it's annoying to keep doing that.
Yea happens to me. Some times it comes back on its own or on a reboot.
I think it is an ICS issue. Happened on my GSII, Inspire, and Captivate too.

Yup happens to me too. It goes blank or doesn't update properly.

the thing definitely has problems on this tablet. don't know if this is necessarily an "ICS" issue as they just updated it with the new ICS look, one has to imagine they at least tested it on their own galaxy nexus. more likely it's an issue only affecting ICS tablets.
on my tf201 the GV widget has so many issues it's useless. sometimes it shows data but the data isn't current. other times it just goes blank. removing the widget and putting a new one down fixes but i wouldn't call that a solution.
and although this is OT, i can't believe there is no google talk widget. i want desktop with gmail/gv/gtalk on it and right now google is scoring 1 for 3.
So no one knows of a fix for this?
I have a galaxy nexus and have the problem as well.
I'm having the issue as well, is everyone still having this problem?
For me all I have to do to get it back is go into the app and let it sync.

Hello,
Is anyone else having issues with Gmail crashing?
I can get it to crash by looking at "all mail" and then scrolling down.
On my galaxy nexus this scrolling goes back to the server and loads more messages. On my prime it just crashes and goes completely black or crashes to the home screen. I have to then force stop Gmail in order to get it to load again.
I'm having the exact same problem with my prime. I'm guessing it had to do with some other app that is running because if i restart my prime, it doesn't happen again for a while. I've searched and haven't found any others having this problem though.
I also experience some "back to homescreen" while messing in Gmail. I just cleared the data/cache to see if it will help.
I am having these troubles, too. Have anybodies problems been solved (perhaps with the new Firmwares that were put out by Asus - I am still on 9.4.2.11 as I am based in Austria) ?
The .15 update has made it so that I do not crash any longer while scrolling.
Although, sometimes when I scroll down it just sits there....loading conversations....
I still experience gmail crash... I run WW .14. I hope .15 will fix it when it will be available.
Mine crashes as well on the lastest OTA firmware. I don't think I even need to scroll to crash to homescreen. I think it does it even when I just click on an email occasionally.
Gmail crashes soooo often for me. It's driving me batty. Any ideas on how to fix it yet?

Have you cleared the cache and data?

In the few cases I've seen mentioned, whether that even helps temporarily is debatable. In my case it didn't help at all, so I just set up the "EMail" app to get my GMail instead of the GMail app.
yes i have tried that mltiple times, removed the gmail widget since i saw some mention that it could be causing the problems. no luck. removed other widgets one at a time as well. removing beautiful widgets seems to help with the home screen "crash" I was experiencing a lot, but does nothing to fix gmail
I guess I'll have to set up another email app or use a browser, but damn! neither are great fixes (
I just started using the ASUS Email app. That seems to work fine, including the widgets.
This is BS
Come on, Asus, this is Gmail, not some goofy homegrown app or a game or something. And this has been going on for a while. It is not something that just started. I swear Asus has their priorities up their ass sometimes.
I have the same problem ever since the last OTA update. The gmail app is virtually unusable, also get a similar problem with Maps crashing out when searching for places but I guess that's for a different thread.
Tried many things one of which, removing the Beautiful Widgets home screen weather/clock widget, solved a different problem where all the icons would disappear from the home screens.
It's a real shame 'cos I've had none of the hardware problems other people have had, but the flaky apps/browser/ICS are really making this tablet very difficult to use as an everyday device. Maybe it's time to unlock and try Virtuous ROM.
Maybe it's related to this:
http://www.androidcentral.com/google-acknowledges-gmail-app-may-be-flickering-says-fix-way
Acer Iconia A500 -- received stock ICS update a week ago and since then Gmail app has been playing up like all of you guys -- random crashes, flickering, freezes etc.
Very frustrating because that's the most used app on my tab. Now I have to revert to using native email app which kinda suck.
I just purchased an Asus TF Prime today and updated it to ICS 4.0.3. Everything seems to work pretty damn good, however i cannot enter the "my Apps" section of market. It FCs immediately. The other parts of the market work just fine. I've cleared the cache and the data and still does not work. Can someone maybe clue me in on what can be done?
It seems to crash when trying to auto update through "My apps."
I had the same problem starting today. I updated the apps manually through other parts of the market and all seems normal now when I view my apps.
Yea I updated manually and it seems to kinda work. No big deal though.

I'm also getting the same problem. Hopefully Google sorts it out soon.

Does this happen on anyone else's TFP? It does not happen all of the time but large HTML messages will make it freeze and if I touch the screen too soon it will give me the not responding message and I select "wait" or it will just shut down. Sometimes it won't even be HTML emails that will make it hang, I will just open the apk and get a white screen that does nothing. I have 3 emails hooked up to it, is that what is effecting it so much but if so why does my phone Gmail app work great? Just probably my most frustrating thing about my tablet as everything else works really well and this is the #1 thing I use mine for. Any ideas? I just cleared data and cache so we shall see if that helps at all. I would prefer not to use a 3rd party app but I guess I may have to. If I do need a 3rd party app what are your suggestions that act very closely to Gmail? Thanks a ton for your help.

Mine is working fine. Try logging out and back in. Also, try wiping cache.
I'm having the same issues. Just started happening out of the blue a few days ago too. Erased cache, killed the process & restarted, rebooted the tablet.. Keeps happening. :-/
My problem started on OTA.14 Not fixed on .15

I've got the same problems, black screens, force closes, all kinds of nonsense. Wiping cache etc sorts the issues for an hour or so, then it's back
This is a massive pain. Is anyone having any luck sorting this yet?

Same Here
Lock ups, black screens, and force closes. Man, this really frustrates me because I didn't have these issues on my old transformer. Its not just my Gmail also. My corporate mail and G+ sometimes do the same thing. Its gotta be something in Ice Cream Sandwich.
I apologize if this has been posted before, but I didn't see anything for the Prime when searching. My prime is about 2 months old. Never rooted or unlocked bootloader...completely factory stock (other than using Go Launcher recently). I've been having an issue where the google maps app is always in the open apps list. I can close it (and all other apps in the list) but the maps app always comes back. I don't ever use it on the prime and it doesn't appear to be using any battery nor processor, so I'm not worried about that. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this come up running stock and if there's a way to stop it? It was there before the last 2 OTAs and I have wiped/reset the prime, yet the app still shows up. Again, not a big deal...just wondering!
Thanks in advance!
I too have seen this with my Prime and it is a few days old.

Its the newer version of google maps, likes to run in the background. Nothing you can do, cant even uninstall maps because we have no root access. Do a google search, you will find many people with many different devices complaining of this. Some blame latitude, you can try logging out of that, never did anything for me tho.
Thank you Asus....
Hi everyone,
I have tried to search for a solution to my problem but I haven't been very successful. If anyone knows of links to possible resolutions to my problem, please reply with them.
I have an issue with the chrome browser starting with a completely black screen. At first I thought it was only my last phone (RAZR HD), but the problem is also present on my Verizon Note 3. If it were just an issue on a single phone, I'd probably ask in specific phone forums, but it's happened on two different phones now.
I'm presuming that the problem might be caused by an app I'm using, but the problem is intermittent so I can't tell if the issue subsides when I uninstall certain apps.
Any help or insight in this issue is appreciated.
Thanks
I have the same issue. Seems in my case its ANY 4.3 rom. It started after an update to Chrome around the fifteenth or so of November. It'll work but if I change tabs or switch apps it will turn black when resuming. Older versions of Chrome don't have the problem. I've gone back to a 4.2.2 root box rom with no problems.

The latest update to chrome doesn't render the pages immediately.
This would most likely be to open chrome faster.
However, users are reporting that they don't get past a black screen.
This is common.
Go complain to google devs though, not here. (The bug tracker they have)
Right on. Will do. Not so much complaining as just sharing with the OP. Thanks for letting us know its very common. My searches have not returned much information at all. Including Google searches and searches here and on XDA.
Thanks again!

I see. My RAZR HD was still on 4.1.2 and this was an issue there too. Thanks for the information.
Side note: I'm glad I wasn't the only person having difficulty searching on this subject.
sorry for the huge bump but if anyone was wondering my dpi was 350 and this issue stated when my Rom was changed to a 350 DPI. I used xposed and App Settings to change the DPI of chrome to 480 and no more black screens
EDIT(2 hours later):Nope it just came back.
