Hi there,
Noob here...
I bought myself a Galaxy Note with the hope of being able to use it and it's Stylus to help me with my day to day work. Unfortunately there is no app currently out there that does what I want so I tried to create my own. Being a noob, and being pathologically averse to actual coding all I managed to do was find an online CMS system that allowed me to get a bare bones version running. While it works, its not perfect, and I like perfect. So I'd like to find someone that is good with PDF creation type apps to create / finish off my little project.
Its a simple concept and I don't think will be very hard for someone that see's life like the matrix as most developers I know do... So is there anyone out there that freelances or has a couple of days free I can use to get my project finished??a
Thanks
DLF

Welcome, but be aware that you have stumbled into a bit of a bear pit here - this section of the forum is for hard core developers to post their applications, not for people to ask - with respect - noob questions!
My suggestion would be to locate the Leo section of the forums where you will find several forums devoted to 'stuff' for the HD2, including all the things you are looking for - but also be aware that just bunging stuff on the HD2 to try to make it funkier is not necessarily wise. You need to read up a bit first, but then you can get into flashing ROMs and all sorts.
You could really do with reading up on the posting rules for the site - everyone is welcome (providing they are keeping it legal) but there are some niceties that you may want to observe to avoid the wrath of aged and bad tempered members!!
Another key tip is to use the search function...always!
See you over at the Leo forums perhaps?
Hi there,
Since new powerfull devices like SGS 2, Optimus 2X.. are finaly out, I was thinking that running an IDE directly on an android phone might be something possible ?
Question is, is there already some kind of IDE apk for our phones ?
Touchqode -- I havent tried this yet but it claims the two most important features I'd want (syntax highlighting and code suggestions)

Nice ! Thanks,
Seems quite interresting. Gonna take a look

I did a forum search and surprisingly didn't see anything come up for this. At any rate, someone ported libpurple over to android but it lacks a gui, and probably needs a bit of polish.
I don't have enough posts to link to the project page but if you google pidroid it's the first result that pops up, some guy at university of waterloo in canada did the libpurple port, with the files available to download.
Maybe someone here could pick up the project and make an app out of it? I know myself and alot of others I know that use pidgin would love an android port, specifically for the OTR stuff.
1up: i would love pidgin on android

I am putting together a presentation on the iOS and Android platforms as part of an educational lecture series I'm going to start doing here in the next few months. The main goal is to educate people on how to use their new smartphone and or educate them on which platform suits them best.
Right now I'm looking for more material to mull over. . . Show me what you've got!
Not sure why type of info you're looking for exactly. Here's a few links you might want to read to get started:
http://www.android.com/about/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system)
http://developer.android.com/index.html
Well as almost everything you can take a base on wikipedia and their owners page and from there the fastest way would be to google every feature separated and search or make a comparision table (ive seen lots of them online) and comparing them with images from both devices an iPhone and for example a Galaxy S2 or a Galaxy Nexus or an HTC Rezound or your favorite and here are some of the pages you should look:
Android:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system)
http://www.android.com/about/
http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/01/android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-review/
http://www.google.com/phone/#manufacturer=all&category=all&carrier=all&country=all&reset_filters=1
iOS:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS
http://www.apple.com/iphone/ios/
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/12/ios-5-review/
Both:

That are the basics but if you want to make a real presentation you should include Windows Phone 7
Thanks guys, I'll check this stuff out! How I've gotten most of my stuff so far is Reddit and Google, this should help flush out some more of the presentation quite nicely.

Only problem with that is that I'm working solely with devices that I already have experience with, things that I've actually used. I have NO experience with Windows 7 devices. Considering that their market share has decreased, from 2.7% to 1.5% in the last few months, I don't see much of a reason to prioritize the inclusion of the Windows 7 platform. Depending on how things go the next few weeks, I may try to include RIM (BlackBerry). . . but the two main contenders are iOS and Android, mainly because of their vast market share and my experience with them.
Keep em comin guys!

For your purpose i would recommend articles about android vs ios.
There's a good one on geek.com called "Android vs. iOS vs. Windows Phone 7". You'll have to search it on google because i cant post urls sorry.
Hi, as you all know, CM9 Theme Chooser has already been implemented into recent builds of CM9. Any one know how to start on the basic things like changing the color schemes for the interface and such?
As far as theming goes, the guides I've seen are not beginner friendly, especially for lurkers like me who want to give back to the community who has nurtured the love of Android in me, but have never been able to comprehend the instructions.
Anyone willing to create and share a guide to do basic theming? Would appreciate the effort to help noob themers like me!

Anyone willing to provide a guide? I'm really interested in doing this but without a guide its impossible to do so. I know that CM7 guides help a wee bit but the CM9 themes are made differently...
Please help!
