I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace. I tried to download an update for Where's My Water. The update was about 30Mb and I had about 40 Mb of internal storage and about 3 Gb open on the SD card. I thought I would download it and it would go to my SD card as that is where the game is. But when I downloaded it the update stopped part way through and said I didn't have enough memory. Problem is it still used up my space so I am down to about 10 Mb of internal storage and am not sure how to delete the partial download. I am guessing there might be a way through Kies but my computer fried and am waiting for my new computer to arrive. I was hoping there would be a way to do it from the phone itself. My phone isn't rooted. Sorry if this was asked already but I couldn't find anything in the forum using the search function.

Sorry kind of new to my phone. Do you mean this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437426
When I get my computer can I get rid of the download through Kies?
He means turn phone off and back on holding middle button down. Phone will boot into recovery mode. Select option to wipe cache then reboot. (the touchscreen wont work so use the volume buttons to navigate up and down and the middle button to select. Back button for back).
I didn't knew this would work.
Thanks for the info emoboiix3.

I tried the reset. Seemed to get some of the memory back but still about half of what it was before the download. I am sitting at 20 Mb instead of the 40 Mb I had before.

This is the Ace's cache size....I know I couldn't download Where's My Water through the Mart......so I downloaded the free version online....

Well, I got the storage back. I did the reset like you said again. Didn't seem to do anything. Than I cleared the data in the Download Manager which also didn't seem to do anything. I was gonna try again later but when I checked my phone again the storage was back so not really sure how that happened but it did. I cleared my phone to over 50Mb internal memory and tried the download again. Got the same error but was able to clear the storage again. You said that the Ace isn't able to download it. How was I able to do it the first time? Cause I can't seem to do it now.

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had this problem... or has any ideas on how i could go about fixing it?
From Rom Manager I tried to partition my sd card.
When my phone rebooted all my apps/info were removed from the phone
(It seemed to format my 14gb intern memory)
I tried to reinstall an app and i got an error that there is not enough space to install applications
When I look at settings>SD card and phone storage> Its say:
- Phone Storage
Total Space: 14.63GB
Available Space: 14.63GB
- Application Storage
0.00B
every time i reboot its like its does a factory reset... wallpaper set back, settings, google/wifi info, ect...
I tried to adb into recovery and reflash (frankintwiz-final) but when itll go finding... opening... installing... installation aborted
Im just drawing a blank on what to do now :/
I had the same problem a week ago. Had to odin back to stock. I used the instructions from the sombionix thread. Fix 1 in the op.

I'm in need of help.. I think i just broke my SD Card.
First of all.. Im using W-Stor 16GB SD Card. And ICS Final ROM from kevinlekiller from Xda. And my baseband is XXKPH 2.3.7.
I'll list the stuff I've been doing since yesterday...
-Its chinese new year, so I mostly have my phone idle.... I started using it @ 1PM to check for some SMS, there are no prob at that time
-For the rest of the day, I didnt touch my phone... till 8PM, when I open my phone and read Manga from Mango, I noticed that my phone's a bit laggy... So.. I went to Settings > Applications > Running Services , to terminate some background Activity, But its really laggy that it shows Force Closed Settings. After that my phone rebooted itself. After the reboot, i found that my Memory card is not mounted, so i Removed it and re-insert it. Still Nothing, I checked at Settings > Storage and it shows:
Total Space
Unavailable
Available Space
Unavailabe
And the "Mount SD Card" is displayed in a darker color, which means... cant be clicked.
I then rebooted my phone and tried it again, still.. the same result.
-The next day, I tried plugging it into a Card Reader and the computer cant recognize it. I tried mounting via ADB Shell and still wont work.... then i got back to the phone and rebooted to CWM 5 recovery, and tried to mount /sdcard, still wont work...
Can anyone provide help?
I think your SD is corrupted. Not just corrupted, bricked to the max.
I think there might be a way to recover my files... or at least being able to reformat it

Regardless of what I do, how many apps I uninstall, how many apps I downgrade, or how many "sacrifices"(lol) I make, my phone keeps populating the internal space and giving me a Low on Space message which keeps me from installing/updating or doing anything really. Last night I had 104mb free, now I have 48mb, all I did was sleep.
I'm running a V6 Supercharger script and thats really all I can think about that would be causing these problems.
I use app2sd to move all the apps I can over.
A virus? It would be a first for me on android.
I'm using a Huawei Mercury with the leaked "factory" 4.0.1 install. I performed the upgrade about 4 months ago and haven't had problems until maybe a month ago. Maybe a hard reset, or factory data reset and a reinstallation of everything will resolve it, but i'm afraid of it happening again.
I have 1gb allocated to the rom/apps, and then 2gb internal storage that I just don't use.
I've fixed the problem a few times and it just happens again, any help would be greatly appreciated! :crying:

Is what i do about once a month is format my sd card and re-partition it,this keeps the access trash(files, apps, etc.)from cluttering everything up,you using app2sd isnt going to be enough,as soon as you run out of allocated space in your ext.it will start using your internal, hence the low space warning.Nand your existing rom, then backup everything up to your desktop, format your entire phone sd card and all, reinstall the app2sd,then restore your nand.If your still having this problem, then its either an app thats installed or the rom.

The phone has a 1GB for the rom, 2GB Internal, and a 16GB SD.
I don't understand how to keep the 1GB partition from mysteriously filling up regardless of how much I delete.
I always though the apps were suppose to go to the 2GB internal phone partition but they are right along side the ROM, that confuses me. I wish there was a way to truly delete built in apps and not just "disable" them.
Do u use 4g? I heard of problems with it saving cache stuff then not clearing it out.

a factory reset will clear up internal memory on a lot of android devices. remember to back up first if you choose to factory reset it
Hi,
I have galaxy s2 i9100 phone. Internal memory 8 GB, and no external sd card. Its running 4.1.2 jelly bean. official rom. the problem with my phone is that when the phone is restarted i get the " preparing sd card: checking for errors" and it takes a long time to go away. during that time i cant do anything like taking a picture or accessing memory. after that when i goto application manager to clear cache of an app or uninstall an app, no app is showing its size. then after like 10 or more minutes the apps start showing their sizes one by one.
during this time if i click any app to see if i can uninstall the app or clear cache etc i see computing..... infront of everything.
and it takes quite a while to compute. Eventually it is computed and all the sizes cache size is showing but if i click to clear data or clear cache the button appears to be clicked but nothing happens i have to close the application manager and open it after like 10 mins to find out the cache has been cleared. all this is also effecting my phone performance. The apps are very slow. I dont get any facebook or any other notification on time. I get them like an hour late. This didnt use to happen before. The phone is sluggish and often freezes and i have to take out the battery to make it work again.
I did everything i could find. I factory reset it, did wipe all data and even reflashed and factory reset it but all that did was make it work normal for a day or two and then all these problems start again. I searched alot but couldnt find any topic relevant. No body has mentioned this application manager problem etc and phone being slow etc. And many of the posts are about external sd card but i have no external sd card. Could someone please help me.
Two days ago I went to flash a rom to test it out and as soon as it booted I was faced with the out of storage error message. Now every time I flash any ROM I'm facing the same thing. BTW I always do every type of wipe recommended b4 anything even system format. Any help here I will be very thankful. Never had this problem before and just in case its the metropcs p769.
Also it won't let me install anything from both play store or SD not even when removing some system apps.

I got this message sometime ago. It's because disable sdcard or swap internal/external memory. Even as your phone memory is available but if your external sdcard is almost full, you will get that warning message and cannot install any app.

So, it's not the same problem I got. Did you try to delete unused files in internal memory /data/media?
