[Q] Touchwiz - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, is it possible to get Samsung's Touchwiz on my aria?
Sent from my HTC Aria using XDA App

Unfortunately I don't think so...I have been looking all over the internet, and could not find one. I think the spec differences between the samsung phones and the Aria are too large.
But if anyone CAN find one, I would love to try, I love touchwiz

Just flash this on your Rom... works like a charm!

Htc Ime .apk ..... install or??

Would there be any benifit to installing the modded HTC keyboard to use instead of the version that comes on the phone?

Thanks for the reply-- The settings was one thing I have backed up and one reasons I was asking.
This mt4g works so well I'm scared to start loading other things on it!! LOL.....
Nah, the hardware is great but I wish they would have shipped it with the desire hd Rom, which is why I'm running it already
Sense is amazing but tmo got their grubby little fingers in it and borked the hell outta the experience.... imo

[Q] Flyer and Vanilla Android

Has it been done yet?
Will it be possible?
Will the pen still work?
Flyers not even rooted so no its not done yet.. Yes its possible. As far as the pen I would say no because that's a sense/HTC thing. On a side note the gingersense 3.0 on this is pretty cool. If u want a vanilla 7 inch tab, buy a nook and install cm its cheaper

Google doesn't need people porting it directly to Phones, this will harm the sales of Honey tablets...That's why ICS will unite tabs and phones.
I understand they do not want it on phones, But there are some decent tablets out there suffering the lack of sourcecode.
Also I recently noticed a flat out lack of any roms for a certain device

Perhaps ICS will be available for tabs and will run on the ones that currently have no honey support. But once they release it, devs can port it to phones, and they only want it on tabs, specifically the dual core ones.
It is a shame, The original Galaxy Tab was a wonderful device, Altho as a large phone it looks ugly as sin, Running honeycomb however, It certainly looks nice between the transformer and new tab 10.1 and 8.9

[Q] Would YOU drop Sense 4 for a fully working stockish Jellybean ROM?

...or would you wait for the official HTC Sense Jellybean? -- which is WHO KNOWs when
Dropping Sense has been my first wish for every sense phone i've owned.
Yes. Yes. Yes.
I would stop everything I was doing and immediately flash that bad boy. Not a second thought.

Not forever, but I'm not rooting until CM10 works.

I can't wait until the AOKP or CM10 ROMS are available. I will install one of those and not think twice about it.
AOSP all day everyday! Screw Sense!!!!

No. Or I would buy a nexus.

I had the galaxy nexus and got rid of it because it felt cheap.
Swype is starting to be a good alternative to the stock sense keyboard so I would gladly install AOSP JB

SwiftKey keyboard will blow your mind FYI if you've never tried it. Way better than either of the aforementioned keyboards.

I'm a big fan of sense, but I would definately jump on a chance to try out jb. I like new and shiny things.

As I love the camera software on this phone, I am not sure I would want to lose Sense camera
I ran Cyanogen on my OG Evo... but I have really come to appreciate much of what sense has to offer.
I think that between Car Mode, Camera App and Dialer (all of which I use every day) I could not stray away from sense for very long. I know that there are 3rd party apps that emulate what sense can do but they really aren't up to the level that sense is.
I would definitely flash it to check it out but I'm pretty sure I would return to sense in short order. I hope that the official HTC Jellybean / Sense combination will be as awesome as I think it can be.
Deck already has cm10 booting, so give it a week or two. Check the cm thread for the video.

What features of the dialer do you like? If it is the "T9" aspect of it, you can definitely get that elsewhere. If I'm not mistaken, CM7 had that before Sense did.

Totally agreed, I really love the camera software and the continuous shot mode. The camera aspects of the phone is what really sold me in getting this device.

I definitely don't dislike CM... I just like the functionality of sense (beyond the widgets). I feel the dialer is just laid out better in sense - easier to navigate (for me). It is the lesser of all the things that I mentioned but something I noticed nonetheless.

Aria market

Anyone know how many Arias were sold and any estimates for how many may still be in use? Just wandering about what the market is for continuing the rom upgrade work for this phone.

I have a one x now but just flashed winsuks cm9 port Rom. I still play with it and will use as a back up phone but lately its my toddlers mp3 player/princess game device lol

I still use it as my main phone. I flashed munjenis cm9 ROM which is working great for me. I just bought it two months before the Desire C came out, so I want to keep using it for at least one year. Maybe then something better comes up, who knows?

I got it in the beginning of the year, so just like dansou901 I wanna keep it for a while. I love this phone and I hope it gets support for a little longer.
This is an awesome phone for my first Android!
You're right, it's awesome, but it is only Arm v6, so it won't be compatible to newer software...

I just like the small size and it's elegant design. I am also impressed with how the rom developers have been able to keep it current with ICS and now JB. And particularly how other developers have overcome the memory limitations with programs like S2E. Just what is the appeal of a 5" screen?
Sent from my Aria using xda app-developers app
I still have 2 Aria's, one with CM7 and the other with CM9. I love what I think is the prefect size of these phones. It's too bad HTC hasn't built another similar sized phone with more memory and processor power.
