Is there a Clockwork Recovery Mod for the x10?
After a couple of lunchtimes spent searching for it I'm still at a loss!
There is CWM, but only for unlocked bootloaders. It gets installed when you flash custom kernel for unlocked BL, and I think using flashtool (latest version), you can install CWM from there too. But not 100% sure on the flashtool part
For locked BL, we have Xrecovery

Thanks!
I unlocked the phone last week and installed cyanogenmod
When running ROM Manager from inside the OS it seems to think that Clockwork isn't installed and it can't seem to flash it either.
Will have a look at flashtool again

There are many custom roms comptible with locked bootloader, and I saw CWM recovery files for locked bootloader into the custom rom zip,
but when I did all wipe and format /system then install a rom in CWM, after rebooting the CWM is gone, I have to re-install it manully.
It's due to the improper Aroma-script ...Unlocked and Locked BL use different chargemon ...If there is a separate section for unlocked and locked then the file is placed properly and you can boot...
If however suppose The Locked BL files are flashed first and if there is chargemon(Unlocked BL) in the Base ROM instead of in separate section then the it is overwritten and you cant boot in the recovery on locked BL ..
I made a zip a while back for flashing over the rom installation specifically for this purpose ...

Thanks a lot.
It seems that some custom roms comptible with locked BL extract chargemon for locked bootloader first,
then extract files to /system, but there is also a chargemon in system folder in the zip.
Thats because of bad meta-inf/rom.. Mi rom comes with cwm for locked bl

Hello!
I own a XPeria Ray now and already managed to Root and unlock Bootloader.
I installed X-Parts from Google play.
I entered Recovery and did clean Data/Cache/System. I installed OptiMax 3.0 Rom.
But now my Recovery is gone?!?
In XParts it says its only in System, so it sure is gone. But how can I get a permanent Recovery like on my old HTC Evo3D?
I need some Security if Flashing goes wrong.
Please Help!!
And I'm Sorry, i did search in the Forums but couldn't find a Solution for this.

Flash any custom kernel for Ray in your development forum. The custom kernel has cwm integrated in the ramdisk (permanent), and will not be removed unless you flash a new kernel. Download the kernel, and flash it either with Flashtool ot fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot boot.img
Try flykernel for stock ics. It is very good.:victory:

For locked bootloader you must install cwm again when you do a full wipe.
If you want permanent recovery, then unlock your bootloader and flash a custom kernel.

He has already specified that he unlocked the bootloader...
Try installing a custom kernel
Because the CWM (which is installed with xParts on unlocked bootloader) is not in the kernel so if something happens to your System partition, CWM will be gone.
You can install it by unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom kernel such as mesa. MESA 3.3 will give you dual recoveries (CWM & TWRP).

Hi,
I don't know how to get out this time...
I installed Zellycream on my rooted Xperia Mini ST15i (4.0.4) with locked BL, after installing CWM with X-Parts.
After booting up, fonts were not readable so I installed it again, forgetting to wipe before
Now I'm stuck in a bootloop without CWM (due to locked BL) and PC companion tells me that there is no software available.
Flashtool does not work with locked bootloader as far as I understand (I tried but it didn't work either).
Is there any option left I missed or can I throw it away?
Flashtool works great on locked bootloader. Just flash the stock rom .ftf in flashmode using flashtool and it'll work

yup... just like Mihahn said.. Flashtool works with locked and unlocked BL.. maybe you need to re-instal your adb driver on your PC so the flashtool will able to read it and works for you...
Hello everyone.
I have installed CWM by artas182x for locked BL because somehow I couldn't install fastboot drivers.
However, I can't seem to flash latest official CM because of too old version of CWM.
Now, my question is if it's possible to install latest CWM for our phone which is downloaded from official CWM site in .img form via flashify app on the phone? Is it safe and are there any problems possible to encounter?

don't try to flash CM if your bootloader is locked, you'll 100% brick your phone. If you have a locked bootloader you can install only stock based roms...
Hi,
Currently I have NUT's dual recovery installed. Trying to install the latest TWRP 2.8 following TWRP's website, fails everytime. I know the Xperia recoveries are different from other devices.
I have a locked device. Is there a way to get the new recovery onto my Z2? Even from flashing from the current recovery maybe?
Regards,
B
No, custom kernel/recovery requires unlocked bootloader, you'll have to unlock or wait for nut to update dual recovery

But after flashing monxDified I had 2.8. When I wanted to use eXistenz, I went back to stock and flashed Dual recovery again
Flashing TWRP
Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a related question.
I'm running Doomlords CWM recovery and .402, unlocked and rooted. I'd like to update to TWRP. All of the guides I've found on flashing TWRP assume you don't already have a custom recovery. Do you suppose I could just install TWRP through TWRP Manager over the existing CWM? Would I need to flash a new kernel patched version of the stock ROM that supports TWRP?
Thanks in advance.
No issues so far running the teamwin recovery on LB.

MonxDified includes 2.8 with his rom if you must run 2.8 now find a rom with it included otherwise wait for Dual recovery to be updated.

If TWRP can be flashed from Recovery with a ROM, surely it must be able to flash TWRP on its own???

NO, Z2 doesn't have a separate recovery partition therefore, as I understand it, recovery needs to be flashed as part of the kernel.

Yes you are correct, looking into it further, with locked bootloader the recovery is actually located in /system/bin therefore some magic involved in booting recovery, but my point stands in that the recovery has to be modified from standard to be bootable from its non standard locale.
