I need a special ROM to film and photograph
Personally I have found that stock or stock based roms produce the best photos. Just my opinion
--English--
Roms stock-based have a awesome camcorder, but to photograph, use the miui or cm, i dont know why, but miui rulez when the question is camera.
--Portuguese--
Cara, as roms stock são as melhores pra fazer gravações, mas quando se trata de fotografar, as roms MIUI e CM tem uma camera muito melhor que a da rom stock, não sei por que.
Stock or stock based like wolfbreak, Dixperia etc. are best when it comes to camera
I manually installed the FRG01B 2.2 OTA update last week. It came with an updated version of the camera app. It's not fantastic or anything, but it is a significant improvement over the original stock app. Loads faster, snaps pictures faster, and better color balance. When I upgraded to BB4, I still have the same new camera app. Not sure if BB4 comes with it.
It depends what you want. most roms produce the same quality pics, so its down to you. Whether you want the xperia s camera in the high benchmarking feralabs ROM or use the camera from low ram, low benchmarking roms such as wolfbreaks
Xperia x10(Feralabs Rom) After trying all roms it was my Fav.
Now on the RAZR.

afaik the stock cam is best ... miui ones etc have problems like no zoom etc.

I think that miui definately takes the best picture, and zooming is not even real zoom on stock camera. Its basically cropping and stretching it

I just installed the wolf v7b6 gamin rom. I thot it'l give me more ram since my previous one, his ubldm gives me around 200+ for both avail and free.. Was just wondering if it's normal? that the gaming version gives me just around 150-160 total RAM?
here are my specs..
- 2.3.3 wolf vb76
- doomkernel-v06-FS
- baseband 2.1.7.7
TY..
Are you really filipino?

My personal recommendation is UlBlDoom, it has great Speed+Battery and the best Tweaks becouse it offers me alot more possibilities of tweaking then the other ROMs. Its on par with the Gaming Version the only thing that is different is that the Gaming Version has extreme Virtual Memory and Taskkiller Values while the UlBlDoom has more friendly ones for a everyday ROM whit features like Timescape,FBiX2...

and I think it's something related with the "extreme virtual memory and taskkiler values" for the decrease of RAM.. and ulbldoom has more tweaks than the gaming ver.. but I really think gaming ver. is alot-lot more faster than ulbldoom if you really play all day.
Yup, Filipino po ako.. uhm, the thing that i cant get is why is it that there's only less available ram, since the concept of it being a gaming rom should be more free ram+high speed.. (pls correct me if am wrong).. ty

In all stock-based ROM's cam is the same
Dixperia, wolf EW jet , thgo !! all stock based . lol as mentioned above
Thanks dudes! Now im a bit smarter!
Stock 2.1 holds the best camera/camcorder.
The camera as far as pictures is no different on 2.1 or 2.3, the video recording is useless on 2.3...much better and louder on 2.1
Therefore, stock 2.1 is better allround.
Unfortunately most custom roms has built-in ugly precompiled camera app without zoom, brightness, face detect and more good stuff from stock cam app
I am on Wolfbreak's v7 ROM, and the Camera is the same as the stock 2.3.3. No differences.
I have tried lots of popular roms.
Wolfs doomlord ROM is the best so far, stable and fast.
Cyanogenmods camera app is total crap, some versions even dont have AF!
Well infinity focus is the best way to go with the xperia as af is crap. Do the CM roms have the exposure +/- slider?
X10 cam is way better than my last phone, ZTE Blade cam
Samsung galaxy can is the worst. Making a video yesterday and auto focus was being an itch
Sent from FeraLabs v;3.0 Rom + patch +theme = best Rom ever for my x10. (Xda Premium)
If I helped you Out Hit Me up
And Press the Thanks BUTTON^_^
I think the same - Wolfs i very good and stable, and camera is brilliant, like should be. Try DiXperia and Th too.
I try FeraLab, feels interesting
btw, does memcard speed (class) affect camcorder FPS and pic saving speed ?
I mean, right now i have orig. class2 8GB card, but if i change it to class10 card, is it good ?
Sorry for my bad English (H)
I don't care if it's ICS/JB or GB but I need a fully working ROM (camera, phone etc.)
Please suggest, I have less then a week to choose.
Thanks.
Real ICS or ExMIUI are good ICS rom for me. Stable n battery consumption are good. Don't know for jelly bean as i never try it. Best GB was stock rooted GB.

Good ones, but I need to use my phone's camera more often now, which is the best? except stock
Don't know about MIUI but I'm using real ICS 4.1(think it is better than 5.1/5.2) and in my opinion is the best rom and the camera is good, there are the Xperia S camera app and the Panorama 3d app.
I don't know about the cam app. I flashed my phone many times with many roms n kernels, not see any difference, as the rom based on same base.
Maybe others know what rom with best camera.
I'm using Real ICS+MESA. It's stock based, but miles ahead from it.
Stock cam app utilises camera the best I think. Although you can use external apps like Lg Camera, which is pretty customisable.
Spartan ROM is also a very good ROM... but it's stock

Try something CAF based like Citrus but that won't improve the camera much.
Unfortunately xiaomi.eu ROM and a custom launcher like Nova are the only way to go if you want a decent camera and good battery life.
And one last thing: Try LineageOS 13 based on Marshmallow by Gizmo. It is supposed to take better pictures than Nougat based ROMs

The camera in custom ROMs based on Nougat is worse than in stock ROM, yes.
In Marshmallow based ROMs, the camera isn't that much worse but the images are still different than with stock. Someone posted photos here on the forum comparing stock and LineageOS 13 camera
Try N os now the camera is some what optimized now 21 St build

There's no point in comparing camera quality between different ROMs.
Historically the area where custom ROMs suffer the most in comparison to stock ROMs is image quality.
More or less the quality will be the same as the software remains the same, Snap camera, and all the ROMs use mostly the same sources for the same hardware.
The difference will be made by software image processing, which only MIUI can provide.
So if you want the best possible image quality from your sub 200$ phone, you have to use MIUI or be satisfied with the camera on your custom ROM.
