Yellow triangle at boot. GT-P7150 Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was running Task 14 revamped fat rom.
I decided to go back to stock to make sure I could. Basically no other reason.
I followed the sticky for UN-rooting here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474971. Had a hell of a time getting it Un-rooted. Everything went wrong from the beginning it seemed. Seems the files and guide don't coincide with each other which probably started my problems.
In the process, not sure when. I started getting this stupid triangle with the exclamation point in the middle when it boots.
On searching I have only found that it just means I flashed a wrong kernal or something like that and it's harmless and to ignore it. It's driving me nut though!
I did Have to finally use PDA_SIGNED_P7105.tar.md5 Which I know isn't for my US tab but I'm sure I saw the error BEFORE resorting to this as I couldn't get everything to correctly adb push to the tab either so I finally used that file with Odin knowing it would probably cause problems.
I got everything running as I want again. Fortunately I keep a backup which made my life a little easier once I was able to get back to Task 14 again. But the stupid little triangle is still there after restoring the backup too.
Is there a way to get rid of it without stripping back down to stock without having as many problems? Maybe a kernel to flash? Maybe an update or a quickie guide to uninstalling Task 14 and going back to stock (I don't have any links or local stock roms) or something?
Anyway, could anybody help? I don't want to spend another two days without sleep just trying to get rid of this stupid little thing.
Yeah I'm that anal about the stupid triangle....lmao

Odin reflash?? With a different rom+ baseband

In theory you should be able to just flash a stock kernel.

Thanks.
I may be getting there.

I could really use a US copy of a file like this to use with Odin. PDA_SIGNED_P7105.tar
Anybody?
I'm getting tired.
EDIT:
Finally! Found a Place that works!

Even my Stupid little yellow triangle with the ! in the middle is gone.
The download was REALLY slow but it worked!
Hope this helps others going through similar issues.

[Q] Vibrant being read as GT-I9000

Okay.....Here's the situation: I have the Samsung Vibrant and wanted the new 2.2, so I tried doing it myself and just couldn't get it to work. So a guy I know came to the house and did it for me. He used something he was familiar with that he got from here. The phone works fine for the most part. I tried downloading and using GPSRestore from Samsung. When I ran the app it said it couldn't because I had a GT-I9000. How can I get the phone to show what it really is? Some information about the phone: Simply Galaxy 2.7.2 SweetHoney.zsjpj - Kernel ver.: 2.6.32.9 Overstock - v1.5.1 #1 - Firmware ver.: 2.2.1
I'd like to use the app from Samsung and other app's but I am wondering if this will happen again.
Well, that is because you have 2.2.1 which is a GT-I9000 build. To fix this go into root explorer, mount system as r/w, go into build.prop as the text editor and change everything that says GT-I9000 into SGH-T959. Hope that helps!
I'm going to print this out and give it a try right now. I'll be back shortly(if I dont screw it up) and let you know what happened. Thank.
I have a similar situation. I have a i9000 boot animation i would like to get rid of any ideas????
I just did it...it works...but u must reboot for the changes to take effect...

you probably flashed the GB bootloaders
^^AGREED^^
I9000 bootanimation is a known issue/non-issue after ODIN while using GB bootloaders. It is addressed in the OP of the GB bootloader thread.
------------
WOOT! +1 on "Root Explorer" that shiznit is tha bomb diggity!!
Good luck!
Well, I tried changing all of the GT-I9000's to SGH-T959 and after I did that I rebooted the phone. When the phone started up it started to vibrate every 3 seconds, would barely respond from the touch screen and would not accept anything from the keyboard.
At this point I thought I had ruined the phone because I couldn't get it back to the original settings. I finally got the keyboard to work by changing to a different one and got the original settings back. Where did I go wrong?

I assume this is the GB bootloader thread everyone is referring to:

if you have gingerbread bootloaders installed and you end up odining to stock (jfd), you will notice it changes the bootsplash to i9000. You can either reflash a gb bootloader again, or simply use the odin package above to do so.

I am having the same issue... i am not seeing a build.prop file I am running Malice_v4x_72011_EDT with GB boot loaders...
EDIT: NM I found it
yeah
I did something of the same thing....but it froze midway thru....totally freaked me out. Took me about 15minutes to try and figure out how to reboot the phone into recovery because it kept asking me to select with the OK key....and I dont have an ok key!! Once I finally got it to boot up, it would flash the GT-I9000 logo during bootup, THEN the Vibrant logo. I flashed it back to stock via Odin again and it finally went away. Dunno WHAT I did, but it was scary!
Well, I have given up on the whole thing. I have tried twice with the same results. I'm just going to live with and expect to not be able to run apps for the Vibrant. Thanks for everyones help.

theres a gps fix i think in sgstools, could try that ??
I was able to get the build.prop thing to work, but when all was said and done the swpe keyboard no longer responded... had to navigate through the market to find the basic gingerbread keyboard... all is well now...
as for the gps fix
i was able to get the one in sgstools to "run" (before i fixed the gt-i9000 thing), but i am running a GB rom, so it still doesn't work as well as it did with froyo...
Shouldnt matter if your phone is a GT-I9000
Its still a Galaxy S
And if it says GT-I9000, its because the ROM uses a GT-I9000 Kernel or its listed as such in the Build.prop.
Most Froyo ROMs dont even need the GPS restore because the GPS is pretty damn good on them all.
Try A Toxic or an EDT ROM

Okay folks, thanks to the great posts on here, I tried one last time and it worked. I changed the keyboard first and then used sgstools which has a .prop editor in it. I rebooted and it works great now. Just have to get used to the GB keyboard now. Thanks again all.
You don't HAVE to get used to the Gingerbread Keyboard. Tons of after-market keyboards out there. I'd suggest Swype or Swiftkey X, but there are many more.
I was using the Swype and I think that was what was causing the problems I experienced. Since I switched to the Gingerbread keyboard it has been smooth sailing.

My phone was rooted using zedomax's kernel, and is now running siyah. I had to reformat both my sd card and my internal storage so my backups are gone, and I'm unable to connect it to my computer to change kernels or anything of the sort. Every time I try to unroot using odin it refuses to work, and I'm just completely at a loss. I want to delete everything on my phone including the rom and basically reset everything on the phone. Is there any way at all that I can do that or am I stuck with a rooted phone that won't let me even connect it to the computer? I'm extremely frustrated right now, and just want my phone fixed.
EDIT: New update, I am unable to mount my SD card.

I would say try mobile Odin and use dropbox to get the stock files on your device. I would be sure to read very carefully first. Maybe even try a different USB cable or a different computer. Also make sure your PC has the kies drivers installed. When you use Odin make sure Odin is running before you connect your phone to put it in download mode. Good luck

Its pretty easy, install the dropbox app on your computer and phone. You put the stock files in your dropbox sync folder on your PC and upload them. Then download them from your mobile app

thanks a lot man. I'm incredibly frustrated right now and your advice seems useful.
This is probably a really dumb question, but what files do I need?
If your phone charges I doubt its a USB port issue and more likely a driver on your CPU or your missing a step in the return to stock thread.

OK. With the one click app open and your phone disconnected and turned off you need to hold down the volume down button and connect the micro USB. Then when the warning screen comes on press volume up.When you do that does a box on Odin turn yellow and say something like com6?

[Q] question about reverting back to GB

i did the odinoneclick of ICS last night, and all was well. but not i want to revert back to GB. it still seems a little to buggy for me. so i want to wait a while for the devs to do their thing with it. plus i miss all my custom roms.
is there any way i can do this? i dont exactly understand but apparently the original leaked version did something to the bootloaders or something?
i have the stock ATT GB 2.3.6 rom ( incase i ever needed to return my phone ) i put that through odin ( its a .tar file ) would that safely bring me back to GB?
Did you ever do a nandroid backup on cwm?

It had no issue booting but the phone app with just not even open so I just held volume up and down at the same time while powering down so I could factory reset it and wipe the cache and now everything is back to normal with out skipping a beat.
sorry if I made this longer then what it had to be but I just wanted to also give some mini instructions as well jsut in case anyone had a question or two.

I am pretty sure it does although I cant be certain because as soon as it was back up and running I put CWM back on and recovered a back up that I made right before Flashing ICS so all my stuff came back.
Also in any case I did make a back up of ICS in case stuff went really bad and say the bootloader was crazy or something and it messed up and my only option was to stay on ICS at least I would have a back up from a soft brick or something so if you have the room on your sd card might as well do it just to be safe.
yeah im definitely making a backup. well ill report back in a bit if it works
yup. using odin to flash stock att .tar file, then after its finished rebooting into recoery and wiping data factory works like a charm. back on good old 2.3.6

Yes, another "Is it bricked?" thread

The last thing i wanted to do is make a n00b post like this but i want to make sure i have missed anything so far.
I have a white 9100m that a friend gave to me. It was upgraded to stock Bell ICS when it was released. The phone got really warm in his pocket then shut off. When he tried to power it on it would just sit at the SGSII splash screen forever.
Some things to note:
- Download mode works
- Cannot get into recovery
- Phone charges fine
Now i have tried Odin to flash stock Bell ICS both with the appropriate pit and without. I have tried flashing a ICS CF-root to try and get into a CWM recovery and it doesn't work. I cannot also get the phone to be recognized with ADB with the android SDK installed or after installing kies.
I am lost and am ready to just send it in but perhaps i am missing something that people 100x smarter me will know. Any thoughts?
Theres a thread by Phistachio so have a look there.

[Q] Why can't i flash a custom rom??

I have the XSG region (uae) model of the S3 9300 and i've had it for over a week by now, I've successfully rooted it without a problem and i love the phone. However, when i comes to installing custom roms that supposedly improve performance and battery life, it's not working out for me.
So far I've tried the Cyanogen mod and the liquidsmooth mod, using odin. With both of those i repeatedly tried installing them and i even wiped the cache and data, but they just end up sitting there at the boot screen, as if i did all this just to stare at a logo! why the hell don't they work?????????????? help please,

If it is GT-I9300, indeed it is an international model (if it is not faked ).
You should be able to, for instance via CWM or Mobile Odin (to keep root), flash a custom rom. Try to do a factory reset wipe/data wipe and install the rom again. For some roms you also might do a "fix permissions" from your custom recovery after you flashed it (but before you restart the phone).
Looks like you are trying to flash zip files in Odin.
STOP NOW!
Ok note we have sorted that, and before you do anything else, take a step back, and do some reading and learning, starting with the rollup sticky at the top of the general thread.

Tl;dr install with mobile odin or clockwork recovery to install ZIP files (most ROMs come in this, also don't extract it), use dekstop odin to install tar files
Ok fair enough, thanks all for the help so far, I'll do a bit of reading then try again. I've had an Iphone for over 2 years that I jailbroke and used from day one. This phone is so much cooler however, I look forward to exploring the improved possibilities..
Ok that's it then, seems the only way something like this MAY work is by wiping the phone clean and starting over, something very inconvenient for my to do.. If down the line I ever get another phone I will try it then, it has been a headache trying it on this one. I decided to give it one more try yesterday after backing up everything, I used titanium backup and also made a back up in recovery mode, I tried fixing permissions after installing the latest cyanogen mod but it didn't make a difference, it just sat at the stupid boot screen, making my phone warm.. I suppose it's okay if one needs a hand warmer!
My woes did not end there however, as I assumed that since I made a backup i could just restore the phone to the way it was. That did not exactly happen unfortunately, clockwork mod restored the system and image just fine, but when it was restoring data it kept stopping at one file and giving me an "error restoring data" bull****. Great, so I boot the phone and now most of the apps don't work and just crash when I try to run them, the only way to fix them is by uninstalling and then re–installing them one by one! Very inconvenient! And to top it off avast told me I have several "problems" found, I assume that is those apps.
So there it is, I shouldn't have done that to my phone yesterday, it worked beautifully until that point, and I was using nobloat to get rid of the unnecessary stuff, make a rom flash pointless, but I was curious.. And there you go, that is my story, I thank you all for trying to help, and I appreciate it really, but I'm done with this nightmare, at least on this phone i am.
Peace
Ok a quick update:
After repeatedly having an occasional issue with the phone, I decided to go for it one more time, this time I followed your advice to the letter, and I'm happy to report that it Worked! I've installed the liquidsmooth Rom and it works great, except for a few issues which I'll talk about in another more relevant thread. Just wanted to say, I apologize for my earlier posts, I was at my wits end at the time!
Since the custom Rom issue has been resolved, I shall lay this thread to rest and hope others learn from it.
Peace.
