[Q] Experiences about RMA quality for European unit. - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi Euro customers like me.
Has anybody sent their Prime to ASUS to have the issue with WiFi and BT solved?
If yes what happened when you got it back?
Gary Key, wrote that all non-North Americans should contact their local Asus Support. I asked ASUS DK what they knew about this issue and possible solution.
They knew zero..
I am interested to hear from others in EU countries about their experience and results.
Thanks

GPS outside USA, Canada

Forgive my ignorance regarding GPS devices....
I live in the Middle East and I see the current thread regarding Bluetooth GPS devices for the G tablet. Before I buy one of the mentioned devices, has anyone been using them outside the US? Or better yet, if someone can tell me if they will work outside the US/Canada, I'd appreciate it.

GPS signal can be picked up in the middle east without a problem.
The real problem is finding the maps, if you can be sure that whatever application you are going to use on the GTab for the GPS navigation will have maps for your location then you should be fine with any of these BT GPS's.
By the way, the ebay seller mentioned on the other thread wont ship internationally, your best bet is finding an Asian listing, there is tons of BT based GPS to be had there.
Best of luck,
A quick look at the Android market had some apps that said they were worldwide apps so I may be in luck. If anyone has used an app in Kuwait, please let me know.
Thanks for the info!

Various people mentioned (including me) that it fails most of the time to listen to what we say. It could be accent. But trying American accent doesn't give up much success either. There are at least 3 reviews I read about Titan on the net that suggested the same. There was a thread somewhere in early days (a review thread) and they said the same.
strange, apart from when i have poor coverage my Titan out performs my HD7, both handsets are on the same network so suffer the same issue.

I think my handset was a little moody. I've swapped it for a new handset today. Now it seems to be flawless!
What I've been told from Carphonewarehouse today is - the first Oct batch had max problems and people have replaced plenty of those handsets. There was a Nov batch which is current batch too - I've got a handset from that lot and it seems to be working excellent so far! Only used and tested it for 25-30 minutes.
i got mine at carphone also at the end of nov and had no problems at all.knock wood well pleased with my choice.
Got mine from phones 4 U on 23Dec all seems to be working so far on the o2 network
I wish there was Tell Me for other countries as well. Tell Me and Bing Voice Search is not supported in the Netherlands, let alone support for Dutch recognition and Dutch ecosystem search support.

If you are in the US/Canada, you need to contact Tien:

I cannot speak for other countries or regions, but if you are located in the US or Canada, our facilities do have a fix for the unlock error. However, as Mason said, it does require that you send it in for RMA.
The call center and technical support might not be aware, but our technicians already know the procedure on how to fix it. I apologize to all of those who have tried to get an RMA for this through the call center. They are instructed not to assist with issues regarding unlocking device - as we all are. However, we understand that this is a special issue, and have set-up a repair process for the affected tablets.
I apologize for the wait and would like to thank those who were patient while we got to the bottom of the issue, and devised a fix for it. If you are having a hard time with getting an RMA from the call center, please shoot me an e-mail to this inbox: [email protected] and I will be happy to help arrange the RMA for you. Again, I can only assist those located in the US and Canada.

How to contact HTC?

Hi everyone!
A few days ago, as I had mentioned here, I had found faulty pixels in my screen.
I imediately contacted HTC Greece, in order to sent them my phone. I also informed them about the hiss noise issue, for which I had already sent them my DX a few months ago. Of course it wasn't fixed...
I asked them to either fix both of the problems, or replace my device.
The problem is that I just got my DX back.
According to the official HTC service in Greece, who found "no fault" in my device, "the device operates in accordance with the manufacturer's standards".
This means that NONE of problems is fixed. The screen still has lots of faulty pixels and the sound is still terrible.
This is totally ridiculous.
I have no intention to send them back my phone for a third (!!) time, because they don't know how to do their job.
I want to contact HTC's headquarter's but I don't know how.
In their site, I whenever I;m looking for a mail or trying to open a ticket, I'm asked for my country, which means that my issue will be forwarded to HTC Greece.
Any help??

I use this one and they seem to be on the ball.

Today and after recontacting HTC Greece, I was told that since my screen has hundred of faulty pixels, then my device's warranty is void!!!!
I really don't know why I am treated that way.
@ORA 1
Any more specific link?
Again, I'm asked to choose my country, which means (I guess) that my mail will be forwarded to HTC Greece, which is pointless. All I want is to make sure that HTC's headquarters will get to know my case.
Are there any official HTC forums?

Panos, hi.
This is how things with HTC normally work.
HTC will refer your complaint to HTC representative in Greece.
They will undertake the repair there.
Have you asked your service provider for info. Are you on a contract or pay as you go.
If it is a new phone a two year warranty is given by HTC.
If it is damaged, and not the fault of HTC, they will repair but charge for it.
Hi ORA and thanks for your reply!
To be honest, I'm not expecting to gain anything from contacting HTC's headquarters. All I want is to transfer them my experience from their Greek representative.
My device is not damaged. I change my smartphones every two or three years, so I treat them with respect and try to take care of them.

I don't think there is a clear answer for this. I have a significant issue that apparently requires mine to be sent in for service. I tried Sony US first, and they told me that they'd have no problem servicing it...if they had the parts. They said because its not released here yet, they don't have the parts and would be unable to service it for now. So I contacted Sony UK, they emailed saying the warranty is region specific and gave me a shipping address to send it to them, but clearly it sounded like they hadn't looked up my IMEI. I was worried I'd encounter a problem, so I did a live chat to the UK and she confirmed that I'd have to send it to Taiwan. Either center would be out of my pocket for shipping. Which I'm sure is going to cost over $100.
Anyway, to sum up an answer. From the US rep perspective it seems like as long as a center has the parts and the phone released, they'd be able to service it. From the UK rep, not so much. I get the feeling if you call and cause a stink, maybe Sony UK would take it? Otherwise, I think you are going to have to send it to Taiwan like me.
