touchscreen unresponsive when charging - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Just found how solve this issue I can't figure out if someone else did because I haven't done a search because I haven't much time so please forgive me if someone already posted this.
So basically is not the charger itself..
It's the usb cable. Stay away from not Samsung wall chargers because it seems to me a usb related problem.
I tried HTC Motorola old Samsung's.
No way to get rid of this. During a work session I had to use a wall charger from HTC but with a Samsung data cable because the HTC ones was missing.
Boom. No more problem with the screen.
So my experience seems to indicate that the usb contacts are the culprit.

No HDMI or USB from Dock

I have the Samsung smart dock for my Verizon Note 2. Seems that I have lost HDMI and USB out from the dock. I went to Verizon and had the dock replaced and still no go. When I dock the phone it says HDMI cable connected but there is no video, I can connect a usb drive to the USBOTG cable and but works but not on the dock. This used to work fine. The phone is on stock 4.1.1 rooted. Any ideas? looks like there is some missing driver that is not recognizing the dock. Battery charges fine tho.
Try wiping and flashing your phone again. Something may be missing or corrupt.
That's what I am trying to avoid but might just have to do that. Thought someone may know of a file that would be missing.

[Q] I need Help with the Charging Port

Hi Guys,
I am from Guatemala and i recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 I777 from a friend but the problem is that the Charging port is not working, whenever i connect the charger or the USB Cord, it automatically turns itself off and it displays the battery charging for a couple of seconds and then it turns off, turns back with the battery charging image and it turns off, and repeats that cycle until i remove the charger/cord from the Device. the battery is not the original one, but i am assuming that the issue might be with the charging port, unfortunately here in guatemala we dont have that version of the Samsung galaxy s2 i777 only the Samsung galaxy s2 i9100, so my question is: Do you think that the issue is with the Charging port? Does anybody knows if I can use the the replacement part for the s2 i9100 or if i need to replace it with the i777? Does anybody think that the problem might be something else?

cyanogenmod MHL problem

I have to post here as I am new member and cant post in the cyanogen mod section, so if somebody can repost this there it would be appreciated,
So I have been installing the latest roms over the last few weeks, and my problem is this :
I have a pioneer appradio in my car, and when I plug in my samsung to the MHL connector to connect it to the radio display, the phone immediately shuts down and turns off, and the image of the green charging battery appears, so obviously this is not a good thing.
I have uninstalled the appradio app from my phone also to see if its that that is causing the problem, and the phone is still shutting down, even after clean rom installs.
Does anybody have any experience with this or a fix .. or is ther a fix in the pipeline
Other than that I am loving the rom
I look forward to your replies
I did search the forum and several MHL problems came up, but not my specific problem.
Cheers
Kev

[Q] Strange USB port hardware issue?

Hey guys,
Something strange is happening with my ZU - it seems plugging in a USB cable causes erratic behavior which prevents me from charging and/or copying stuff to it any more. I'd love to hear any ideas you may have as I'm all out of them. More details below:
Specs:
Non-GPe Xperia Z Ultra that's running SlimKat. Had one other hardware issue with it detailed here but I'm not sure they are related - the USB connection worked up until perhaps a month ago or less (after I flashed SlimKat). I don't know exactly since I often use the magnetic port.
What happens:
When I connect a usb cable to the phone it starts acting like I'm constantly plugging in/removing the cable. So it vibrates/beeps every second, the screen doesn't stay off (even if I press the power button), etc. It doesn't matter if I'm using a wall charger or a computer. On the other hand, if I use the magnetic charger there are no issues.
What I've tried:
Multiple cables.
Multiple wall chargers.
Multiple computers.
Wiggling the cable/jack.
Why arent you posting this in the questions and answers subforum?
Oh my bad, I was under the impression I posted in Q&A. Could one of the mods please move this thread?
Since you started having this issue at some point after installing SlimKat, I would probably flash the stock rom, and see if that fixes the issue. I'm just throwing stuff out here, but if this turns out to be a hardware issue, and not software, you're probably boned.

[Q] Trying to locate a unique type of USB charging cable, or alternative

First off, let me start by saying that I am fairly new to XDA, and sincerely hope this is an appropriate place to post this threat, and apologize if it is not.. I did read the read-me and don't think I'm abusing any rules.. Anyway..
I have multiple Android tablets permanently affixed around my house, which are integrated with my home automation system, and control a wide range of functions such as the lights.. These tablets are constantly hooked up to a charger, and are intended to be powered on during most hours of the day... An example of one can be seen in the attached picture labeled "A".. A standard USB power cable is run through the wall, and comes out in a hole next to the tablet, and hidden underneath the white cap that can be seen in the picture.. What I am trying to do is get rid of that cap, and the little nub it creates..
My idea was to find some sort of super low profile usb charging cable that can be run underneath the tablet and then into the wall where it cannot be seen. The closest thing I have managed to find to such a thing is this type of QI Wireless reciever, which I attached a picture of, labeled "B". Obviously instead of a QI charging coil at the other end, I would want some type of connection that can be connected to a wall charger though... The closest thing to this I have managed to find, is a right angle USB adapter I found on amazon, which I also attached a picture of, labeled "C".. This is much bulkier than what you see in picture B however, and cannot be bent to a near-180* angle, and run underneath the tablet.
Does anyone have any ideas or alternative suggestions as to how I might power these tablets without that little nub for the USB cable being there? I even tried putting a QI charger behind the tablet inside the wall, and using QI to charge them permanently, but that didn't deliver enough power.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately this isn't really what XDA Assist is about, our purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction. The best thing we can do is have your thread moved to the general Android q&a section here:
Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Please standby while we have your thread moved.
In the meantime if you find the specific device forum for the tablets, within the device forum there's usually an accessories sub-forum which might be worth looking at. If you can tell me exactly which tablet you're talking about I can probably direct you to the right place.
