[Solved] Battery drain/bad signal on rooted 62 with 64, Fixed! - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hey mates, i have no battery drain anymore, Thanks to Aarush & aimcr7
well i tell you to do this:
* I flashed first back to 42 with unticked things then restart
the phone,
* then shutdown then flashed the kernel .283 with unticked
things then reboot,
* then turning off and then flashed
the bb 62, then restart,
So now you have .42 with .283 Kernel and baseband 64
For those that cant download the .283,
Here i uploaded by myself:

Proof in Attachedment

And what about your signal?, can you send a screenshot?

About signal, go to settings->wireless & network settings-> mobile networks -> network mode
and check if you have set anything else than gsm only.

Yes you will. Only you wont have 3g speeds. Google a bit about 2g and 3g, you will understand
let me guess, you had wcdma only?
anw I had same thing after I flash clean rom, I forgot that I need to change to gdm only as that isnt default setting. so signal line wasn't green like in your ss.
if signal cover from your operater is not so good, and you have gsm/wcdma combined mode, your phone will constantly connect/disconnect from gsm to 3g..

Yeah, me too. The .62 firmware sucks I think. I barely use my phone, just WiFi on, no data and it's 40% at the end of the day, normally it would be at least at 60% with light use.
Android-system is ALWAYS at the top of the app-sucker table. Maybe I should try to flash a different baseband like some people said. but I never experienced this much battery drain on .62 firmware before.

I already told you to google for 2g and 3g, and you will find wcdma.
And about gdm, it was suppose to be gsm but I misspelled it
Do you know/remember what network mode setting you had selected before flashing .62?

Or was it the switch from UTMS/GSM to GSM ?

gprs is part of gsm, dont confuse yourself. wcdma is something different. go and google a bit about it.
I asked you what setting you had before, not if you used gprs. You can use gprs while on "gsm only" mode.

I did the same as u did.. flashed .62 baseband look at mine :

[Q] Axura 2.2.5.7 3g issue

Ok so i just flashed auxora and now ontop I have an h symbol instead of 3g. I did some research and from what I've read the h should be faster then 3g correct but quite the contrary my data speeds have dropped drasticly anyone know how I might fix this?
Some roms show an H and some a 3g. There isn't any difference. The only thing that can change your data speed is using a different modem build.
So then what should I do to regain my old data speeds?
My download speeds on the Speedtest app vary greatly depending on time of day, how strong my signal is and network traffic. If you're hitting anywhere above 3 or 4 mbps that's about as good as can be expected. The speeds that T-Mo promise are theoretical. Auxura has the latest modem build (I think it's JL5) but if you want to try some other ones look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868774

You can try a different modem, but that low seems like you were throttled to me.
Log into your account at tmobile.com and check to see if you went over 5gig of data.

That sounds pretty likley I was doing some heavy downloading over tether. If that is my issue when might my speed be restored if at all?
This might be a stupid question, but you're not using your phone as a mobile ap or tethering with your computer right now are you?
Sounds like what you need it the handy throttle free fix from Master's web site

Second post shows how to change your APN to get service back until next billing cycle resets it. Then you switch back to your regular APN.

Maybe search for Simple mobile APNs like we did for t-mobile and try them to see what works. We found t-mo's on Wiki.

Exactly.
My 5g usage statement was based on the level which t-mo throttles us.
I suggest calling your carrier and checking what they throttle at.

[Q] Tata Docomo 3G

As we all indians know, tata docomo has even stopped providing 3g network to those who have not subscribed to a 3g net plan... i was wondering if anyone has managed to break through?
2G speeds are very bad here.
Wrong section mate
Go to Carrier Discussion. No network crashing, MODs may issue a warning.
Sorry
Oh I am sorry brother . Apologies. I request the moderator to delete this thread.
Perhaps a gud news : )

[Q] Why my gs3 cant't lock the hspa+ network

I'm confirmed that my hometowm support the 21M hspa+ network, but why my gs3 can't lock the hspa+ network. When I open the data,H+ just showed at a very short time, and then it turns to H.
And I moddified the build.prop hsxpa=2,and flash the modem.but it just can't lock:crying:who can help me. thanks
I'm pretty sure that phones will only go to H+ if they actually need it. Hence you'll find that if you start requesting data, it will switch over to H+ again, and then revert to basic H when it's done. Probably not an issue.

In which case it's a problem with either your network provider or your phone. I'd suspect your provider primarily; give them a call and see if they can help.

To expand to what anthropolyte said, the GS3 has a Fast Dormancy mode, where it'll connect to H+ network when is truly needed (heavy surfing/streaming, etc), and when the phone is mainly idle or doing light/periodical syncing, it'll switch back down to H or even 3G to conserve battery. As far as I know, Fast Dormancy must be supported by your carrier (which it does in your case) and must have a compatible phone to toggle between different network mode (GSM/HSPDA/UMTS, etc) to increase battery life.

mine alternates between 3g and H+ too. It bumps it up to H+ when I start using apps. The slight lag before it kicks in is not a bad trade off for better battery life.

[Q] One click 3G ON and MOBILE DATA ON

Is there any app out there that can toggle both MOBILE DATA and 3G mode at the same time? I don't like my cell working in 3G mode for talk, but I do like 3G for internet. So I would like to toggle both at the same time. There are some apps which you can program to do stuff like that, in a sequence I think, but I don't remember the names. An specific app for that would be welcome also. When toggle off it would turn off both 3G and mobile DATA.
This is motorola razr d3 XT920 with android 4.1

I believe no one has answered your question yet because it doesn't really make much sense in its present form. 3G IS Mobile Data.

That's not quite right. MOBILE DATA means operator (cell phone company) data... it can be 2G, 3G, 4G ... what I mean in my question is a program that would turn on 3G data mode (phone can work both in 2G and 3G, so set it to 3G) AND activate MOBILE DATA (meaning the phone can use the network operator data).

I am quite aware of what Mobile Data is. But your point is that Mobile Data means any 2g/3g/4g and you want to turn on 3G and Mobile Data? How does that make it more clear, exactly? If you have 3G on, then you are using your Mobile Data from your network operator / cell phone company.

Disable 4G/H+/HSPDA & force 3G

Hi,
Does anyone know how to enter the secret menu to disable H+/HSPDA and force the phone to use 3G ONLY? I'm on the latest Russian official rom and the codes I've found online do not work anymore.
Anyone managed to do this? thanks.
Type *#*#4636#*#* in phone.apk and then select phone info and choose WCDMA only.
I think this worked on older roms and not on the latest 4.3 one. which firmware are you on?
The option to choose WCDMA or GSM only is in settings, more networks, mobile networks, network mode.

Ok let me explain correctly..When i choose Wcdma, then the phone switches to H and H+ constantly when in low reception places and connection is sometimes lost. That's why I am looking for 3g only since 3g signal is better where I live.

Just to let u know, you could fix the frequency in the secret menu as I did this many times, whereas I don't know the codes to get there as well, they were changed I suppose. In addition the i9300 only got up to H+, no 4G, if I am not wrong, H+ is 3.9G, H is 3.5G.

Still, before such a drastic solution, have you tested different modem (even older ones)?
