I was flashing just a new kernal to try another rom and my phone aborted the installation of the rom then I tried to reboot it but the screen stayed blank so I tried to reflash to stock and still blank screen. I think she finally bit the dust...anything else I should try? (I have no insurance and the warranty was voided long ago) Buy a new phone probably...

no actually. Should be fairly straightforward though, right?
Yup. With SEUS, just plug the phone in and follow the prompts
found repair option in pc companion but not in seus...but either way nothing helped or worked. It said my phone was up to date on seus and pc companion said, after selecting the repair option, that there was no update for my phone at this time???????????? I am f'd, right?
Hi,
Even pc companion tells you your phone is up to date, continue the install... Repairmode i think
If it doesnt work just can try flashtool... There is a tutorial on xda thread...
I hope it helps..

if you don't know how.. i'll teach you.. go to pc companion.. and click on support zone, and click on repair phone.. and it will says personal data will be lost, just click continue.. then you choose your phone and follow the instructions.. (you need the latest pc companion for this to work )

I finally fixed it! I had flashed the x10a stock ftf and I needed the x10i ftf even though I have an x10a, I believe that I have to use the x10i ftf now after using x10i roms that must have switched my build.prop. I had done this before but I didn't have the problems reflashing it like I did this time. Thanks for everyone's help!
I had the same Issue and i Used the Flash tool to fix the issue.
People are making the mistake of connecting the phone at the start when they launch pc conpanion.

I've tried seus and flashtool and both detect my phone as long as that sony ericson logo is shown and dats just for a second.
I was using cwm recovery and had made a backup of the custom rom. And nw i cant acces my cwm coz the se logo flashes so shortly dat i am nt able to open cwm.

Don't give up yet. I know this problem. Uninstall Gordon's Gate. Install Sony Ericsson PC Companion (again if installed) and try using FlashTool again. This error on your phone means that the files are corrupted, maybe because a flash you tried was interuppeted unexpectedly. Your phone is not dead yet (probably your USB port has some problems and caused all this), it must be restorable.
Try and tell me if it worked.

No dont throw it just yet, I had almost the same. Ut unsure what caused it,it was 1st time flashing it, but spent 24hrs looking though solutions but it worked, similar to what lea sez...a new dl of sony comp and re-updated it using there latest u.d. Then used flashtool and reinstalled xrecovery with it as it stopped letting me open it..took a few trys but ws ok once sony companion recd my phone an reinstalled xrec.the update in sony comp I think wasnt in clear view its in the support stn..went back to stock 2.1.

I didn't install xrecovery before the wiping, so there are nothing that i could do even i had xrecovery
How can i install custom rom? Since it is my first smart phone.
Moreover, right now the phone can't connecting to a computer at all.
I checked a lot of topics that required the phone is able to connect to a pc,
In order to install any custom roms.

If your provider didn't change the software on your phone too much, this will work. It will work best if you leave your phone disconnected from your pc until step 7

Click and follow the steps

hey i'm having the same problem PLEASE HELP! have you ever gotten it fixed?
Forget PCC, it's useless. Just follow Dr Droid's tutorial. It saved my phone last year, and after flashing the stock rom from the link he provided, my phone was at it's best. No crashes, no sudden restarts.
if flashtool doesn't detect your phone, try reinstalling the driver. it's included with flashtool.
good luck :good:
Okay, I installed CM9 ShockGenMOD on my Xperia U and it worked flawlessly. Later I saw this thread in APPS section "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340073" and installed it using CWM on my phone, my bad it said JB only
Now my phone isn't proceeding ahead ShockGen logo after the installation. Xperia U did not have removable SD card so I can't even add NEW rom from PC to start from scratch.
What do I do? How do I fix it? Please help!!!

Have you used PC Comapanion before?
If you have you can repair the phone without connecting the phone.
Click start under support zone, click start under phone tablet software update, click repair in the window that says can't find phone / tablet,, PCC wil start downloading files and will ask you to connect in flash mode.
The phone must be turned off before connectinmg in flash mode.

Thank you very much guys! Flash tool worked THANKS
sorry for my late reply.
I will suggest that you should always have a backup in case of incidents like these.. this is a development site.
Accidents happen while developing.
Flashtool is always the best way to recover your phone and always have nandroid backup when you install a new mod.
Because when you flash to stock you lose your data but restoring nandroid backup using custom kernel solves the problem!
Hope i helped.
Thanks everyone my prob is solved! I did flashed it
