Hi guys, this is just a general question and not intended to hurt any developers.
I hv been using cm7.1 since last one week and i am extremely happy for what features it offers. I don't see or feel any major battery drains. Overall i am satisfied and would like to thank its developers. However one question just popped into my little greedy girly mind is there anything better than this available for or beloved ace?
Guys please advice. Please don't take this otherwise and don't drag the question in other direction and don't tell me not to ask this and try to determine it based on your experience.
Would appreciate if someone can advice if i can use any other kennel or some other thing along with cm to further improve my experience.

"better" doesn't apply to ROMs. There is not any "good" ROM as much as there are "bad" ROMs, because it's all relative. It all depends on the users needs and preferences.
If you want stability and good battery, stock ROMs are the way.
If you want performance and features, CM KANGs are better to suit your needs.
Personally, I can't say which one is better over the other. All ROMs are equal.
If you want to increase the perfomance of your phone,then flash Turbo boost v8.5 Then,in etc/init.d,there will be a file called S78_touchscreen or something like that,i forgot.Then,flash LagFree v2.

Me too i'm using CM7.1 by Grif and after months i can say i'm really satisfied.
Although i think i will try Cm7.2 RC0, since many people describe that as the best CM for our Ace! I'll let you know about my impressions...

I'd like to ask a very simple question: Which ROM is the best now?
I need it for daily usage, I need all features working(sensors etc.), I need it to be fast and smooth and I need it without battery drain issue.
I'm open to every ROM.

Maybe yes. But I only want to know who uses which ROM and for what reason.
He's open to every rom.
So I suggest stay in your stock and not ask these controversial questions.
How can you still asking this type of question?...
The best rom is the one you will chiose after testing all (or most) of them.

If you want to know whether the rom is well received, go read the rom thread. Simple as that.
Telling you to choose this or that rom isn't fair for the developers. If every user tends to one rom the other developers don't bother working with theirs anymore.
Stick to stock....damn

I've been thinking on ways to make everyone happy with their rom, So I've decided to engage with regular everyday rom users, I'll say.. I'm not one of those self profit developers who just want donations, I'm an understanding person and I used to be one of those smartphone noobs who didn't know what they want in a rom.

Stock ROM, multilanguages, with some different tweak. But i prefer a different ROM. Now there are a lot of ROM stock, with the same kernel, same tweak, only some things change so it will be a great development.
i want a rom that can run touchwiz 4 or trebuchet launcher
can be overclocked to 2.0 GHz!

I see that there are many phones with same cpu/gpu combination but support hardware video decoding of more formats than ace does. I wonder if anything can be done about it?

Ok, fast stable rom, no graphic tuning. Just a good tuning under the hood.
And most of all, integration of PDroid, to control what's going. Privacy and Security are important. Here seems everybody forgot.
After I saw the post of Trent... He registered with a new account

He has apologizes for all his work and the copyright infringement.
He is a great Dev and would be a great asset to the xda community
I do not take his side but he apologized for all the **** he did
And even after making a new account he revealed that he is Trent and did not hide his original identity. He has balls to do something like this

Because he want lot of people from XDA add him on his Google plus, see his google plus you yourself know and you better know XDA is a world wide community. according to him it is the place where he can impress more person by his work and wanted more people add him. In short he want to be famous for his ROM. So you, all youth have to decide whether it is rite or wrong.
i say give him a shot.. we should be trying to make this the biggest community of dev's we can get ! not shooting them down

+1. Maclaw ain't the only one porting ICS on ace. If he was the only one in the team, maybe he'd get overdrived by now, I mean porting ICS on 5 armv6 phones dafuq
And yes, I do believe that trent should be given a second chance, I mean everyone does, Just ban him for eternity if he does the same bull**** again

IF he really did build his own ICS, then and only then, unban him with the caveat HE MUST RESPECT OPEN SOURCE — Trent never shared his source code. He couldn't prove he didn't just relabel source from other projects. If he can't demonstrate original code, he isn't a "dev" and there is no great harm with XDA maintaining its ban on him for clearly breaking several other rules...

First of,please dont ask for a Bloody ETA: All devs have a life,you know.Making roms is not their job..They have their schools and their girl friends to attend to.
Second,If a thread has this tag " [DEV]" Then just STAY AWAY FROM THAT THREAD.Its for devs,its not a f-ing stable rom
Third,Learns some RESPECT,If you dont know how to behave,then please..Stop posting
Fourth,If a bug has been reported once,then THATS ENOUGH REPORTING < Read once more,enough said
Fifth,Be helpful,If you face a bug,then make sure to take a logcat and try to helpful for a change
Sixth,LOOK,READ AND THEN ONLY POST,If there is something you want to post,then look at thread,read the whole thread and then ONLY post.
Now,i know that there is already a thread which is similar to Doo: Doo Ace I know that,but i thought i had make something that was aimed more at a few noobs present here..

I agree that Devs where first noobs ... but they learnt by their own ( coz there were no devs = du-uh ) and now Noobs don't wanna learn they just want the Scripts + Mods + Roms ... just to show off to their friends or to their girlfriends ? (Oh no!!) ...
XDA rules says that "Search before posting" but, they "post before searching!" Which leads to Noob attacks on Devs
Nice information bro. I think everybody must atleast stop asking about ETAs. It's the first thing a dev always mentions. "The rom will released whenever it'll be ready". So no need about etas.

Lol..This one is funny..People were noobs at one time,but they learn over time.
When i bought the Ace last year,believe me,i was a complete noob.I didnt know how to wipe the data of an app,nor did i know what a launcher was.So,there wasnt any launcher installed in my phone at that time,TW was the only one.So,one day something happened,Samsung home kept on FCing continuously,i couldnt even get to the app drawer.Since i didnt even know what was happening,and believe me,i was really scared I searched in Google,and the problem was solved for me,i didnt make an unnecessary thread over at XDA.Everyone was a noob,but they learn.I didnt come out here as an all-knowing great guy.I did NOT know how to even flash a rom,but now,believe me,i can make roms like a piece of cake But the new users "Nowadays" tend to give NO respect to anyone.If they see a rom that doesnt have their language supported in it,then,they say,"This rom sucks" and gives the thread a one-star rating.This is how few users over at xda behave nowadays,and this thread is aimed at THEM..
