Best skins ever.. - HTC Rezound

FYI- for any of those like me who have been holding off for BSE to release a skin for this phone- they finally have (just got an email from them).. 7 bucks for the whole body skin 5 bucks for just the screen.. Pretty darn good product if you ask me (no, I don't work for em)..

Link?
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.

http://www.bestskinsever.com/htc-rezound-skin
I used this product on my Dinc, and an old blackberry.. For the price- really hard to beat.. It's essentially an invisishield minus the fancy package and price. (it just comes in an envelope w/ instructions to make your own soap solution)

That's a hell of a price.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.

Ordered mine.
Out of curiosity, does anyone use only BSE or any other "skin" type product, completely without a case? How well does it hold up? I had BSE on my G2x and a case and the thing is 100% mint after 8 months give or take.

I'm with you- when I use BSE- I forget about the bulky case and just go with the skin.. All I'm really worried about in the end is the screen and I've never had a problem with these skins keeping things mint as you said. I only wish they would have come out with them sooner as I've already encountered a small scratch (hadn't got around to installing any protective cover besides the BSE- which should arrive Mon or Tues).

I've used BSE for my iPods and ipads and they are definately a good value. There's no orange peel to the surface when applied and forms a durable seal for the screen with no loss of clarity. I have the Rezound screen protectors on order. Can't wait to apply it.

i want get one

Just got my full body skin in the mail today.. For whatever reason- it was much easier to apply than on my incredible--maybe it was because I did it in the bathroom with a hot shower running to reduce dust.. No specks or anything.. Great quality as usual- the only thing I'd change is I think they could have made the top piece a little bigger to cover the corners- which are still totally exposed. Looks great though

I suppose I could- but the beauty of these things is that you're really not going to see it (especially in pictures). It adds a little bit of shine to the back since the back in it's natural state is a matte texture. But the screen and top guard- you really can't even tell it's there.

What about the feeling of it? I LOVE InvisibleShield's product for protection, but I didn't like the feeling of it when I was running my fingers all over the screen. Kind of felt a little tacky/sticky a little.

Well- from what I've read- BSE is pretty much the exact material as invisshield- just far cheaper because of their minimal packaging.. That said- maybe it's actually better because I don't notice any sort of tacky/sticky feeling during normal use.. The only case I could see that happening would be in a humid environment- but then again the screen would have a little stick anyways even w/o the protector when it's humid.

Do these have that rubbery feeling like xo skins?

The BSE skins are smooth with no stickiness or rubber like feel. Its almost as smooth as glass after it dries properly after a few days.

You won't regret it- it really is a quality product at very good price.. Just be patient with the install. Get out the big bubbles on the initial squeegee. You may have some bubbles that you perceive to be "big" all of the sudden show up after a few hours of installing it.. Fear not, they will go away after a couple days if not sooner.

this is a little off but badogg I just swatted at my screen and then I realized it was your signature and not a bug haha

so, this doesnt really cover all the metal on the phone? thats what i'm looking for in a skin...full metal frame protection.

For those that have this does it have the cutout for the proximity sensor? If not does it interfere at all during calls?

Best Screen Protector

Just got the TP2 and looking for the best screen protector. What do you think is the best and why?
I rather like the one it comes with.
If it didn't have that, I probably would have gone with another Martin Fields aka OverlayPlus. They served all my Treos well. The Mogul one was a little disappointing, but I'm hoping it was just a bad run.
huge thread here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520544
im using and like the dcmugen ones (ebay seller name , dcmugen88 )
just looked from when i posted on here 6 weeks ago , its still in real good condition , only has a few light scratches
Yea I saw the thread, wanted more to get a poll than anything.
Boxwave Crystal Clear is my favorite. Also the Martin Fields. Both not on your list.

+ 1 installed the one from HTC (with the shower steam method) and it was my first ever perfect (no bubbles, hair lines etc) application... been on for 6 weeks and still looks great
Waiting for Wrapsol...saw a YouTube comparison between this and the Zaag...very impressed as it appears to be thinner and virtually a smooth/clean fit....Wrapsol told me they should have one for the VZW TP2 this week.
Anthony
If I put on a protector that is NOT anti-glare, does it cause it to have more glare in the sun? Because Id rather have more transparency then anti-glare.
the HTC default one do get scratch up rather easily compare to other SP
I've tried a bunch of screen protectors, and my favourite one is the Martin Fields one.
The only problem is that because it is an edge-to-edge screen, I've peeled each and everyone of those screen protectors off, while getting it out of my pocket on the plane. They need to give us more leg room!
Btw, the TP2 is perfect for plane flights =) Beats the on-flight entertainment anyday.
Looking to get a new screen protector and case now >.<
I've tried InvisibleShield and BestSkinsEver...
So far I've used BSE for almost every device I have and they're the best to me.
Waiting on my BSE in the mail that I ordered a few days ago.
The SP that the phone comes with is CRAP!

If you put on BSE (BestSkinsEver) right you can hardly notice that it's their. NO SMUDGES on the screen after a call from your cheeks (BB 8900)! VERY LIGHT finger prints on the screen after scrolling or whatever. (iPod Touch).
Most importantly no dirt around the edges after a while. You know how sometimes you would start seeing dirt or whatever around the edges when using a screen protector.

I was in email communication with BSE but they still do not have a skin for Tilt 2 and they weren't even aware that the tmo version was different than AT&Ts...
Ordered one from bodyguardz, I've never used theirs so will be interested in their quality vs BSE or zagg.

Yes, I was told they had an issue with that and my order had a delay. I should receive it this week.
I'm using the ClearProtector Extended kit. This is the second phone I've used one on. Once on correctly they're very protective and can't be scratched. They're also completely clear. The trick is doing it right, which isn't as hard as it seems, especially if you do it in a room with no dust, such as a bathroom after running the shower to take any dust out of the air.
oy, I can't even make a decision because someone keeps throwing out another brand.
Bodyguards!Bodyguards!Bodyguards! No fingerprints, clear as no screen protector, and way better control over touch! Yes it actually is more precise with Bodyguards on and its just as smooth as without a screen protector! Plus you get to cover your whole phone! Tip: once you install it will look ugly with lots of bubbles- squegee them out with the included card as best you can but within a day every little bubble will be gone. I tried to clean it because I thought it was dirt but luckily they include two sets. There's also a lifetime replacement with $4.95 shipping. By far the best purchase I'VE MADE - the total body coverage makes the phone glossy and sleek.
do the bodyguardz look visible or feel weird (such that you have many different pieces)??
oh no you don't feel it at all. If you do it perfectly there will be no gaps. The covers are stretchable though if you pull hard enough and on a couple corners I did overlap because I kept stretching it but its not noticeable at all. The phone feels a lot better to handle, no longer that cheap plasticky feeling.I love the screen, it feels smooth but there is just enough resistance that it doesn't slip. I finger it a lot with the screen off - it just feels nice to touch lol and I like watching people stare at me when I scratch at it with my nail when Im bored in class or church lol.

Ghost Armor Carbon Fiber on Note

Hey guys just here to show you guys what the carbon fiber (black) looks like on the North American Galaxy Note. Feels really nice and ultra thin so you can put it in another case if you would like. Quite frankly it makes the Note look really smexy.
Does the CF offer any additional grip?
looks good. makes me wish i would of opted for the CF, thought about doing the white CF
It doesn't seem to be that grippy, it's a bit more grippy than the original material for sure. The reason I got it was because the back and sides had the potential to be scratched up really easily and I didn't like the glossy feel of the sides.
Also, I would probably get black or gunmetal as the white gets dirty quick I hear.
Remember though, real carbon fiber will impead reception. I have their matt product on mine, but would NOT recommend it at all. Since it's clear and the battery cover is "pitted", it leaves ugly looking almost air bubbles under it ( and yes, I had them put it on for me, that sutff SUCKS putting it on ).
The screen protector of theirs, is better then most, however the SAME PEOPLE make theirs, zagg, and most everyone elses, and it's 3M The diffrence is in the coating. I do like the ghost one the best, as it does not leave the nasty orange peal effect on the screen, and the coating does seem to last approx 6-8 months before it has to be replaced. If you get it done at a mall kiosk, they will re-do it for free if it gets hosed, ( well it's 5$ fee to do it is all ).
Now, if you want a killer bra for your car, ghost armor is your company. It's what they started with. I watched one of their employees do a car recently in it. Took him less then 4 hours, and it was flawless. Takes me that long to get the screen cover on and it looks like crap, i can't even imagine doing something like a hood or what have you.

Ghost Armor is a local company here in AZ.
They say it is definitely Carbon Fiber not vinyl.
Btw, gun metal looks amazing on my blue/black note.

lol... well, you can go back and demand for your money back then ...
google for "3M DI NOC" and read !!... I got these on my other devices and they are definitely NOT real carbon fiber.
carbonfiberfilm.com
3M™ DI-NOC™ is a high-end vinyl from 3M™ from their Architectural Finishes series. The vinyl can be installed on all sorts of surfaces, regardless of the curvature. This means there are an unlimited amount of applications, from the interior of your car to the back of your laptop.
The CA-421 (black) model that we sell gives a dry carbon look, though it's available in 8 different colors. Contrary to initial belief, carbon fiber DI-NOC™ is not just a printed carbon fiber pattern, but in fact has a three-dimensional texture to it. This allows it to reflect light the same way that real carbon fiber would, making it the best real-world alternative to carbon fiber when you just want the look without paying a ton of money.

id stay away from white, ive had it on before and it attracted so much dirt.. there wasnt one day where it was clean.
Man that looks awesome!
We only have 1 small mall stand for Ghost Armor. They only had the clear when i went. Would have loved this CF.
I have tried several of these "skins" over the years ad have not found one that did not eventually start peeling up on the edges. They all look great when new, but they didn't hold up .
Not saying yours is the same. Just my experience with what I had used.

I got the gunmetal version, and after barely a day I'm worried about how it will hold up. I am no Freddy Kruger and accidentally scratched my nail across it, and now it has a scratch. From just my fingernail. To the OP, how is yours holding up over time?

So far so good and I've had it in pockets, and cases. A couple of tiny scratches but it's hardly noticeable as mine is black. No peeling to speak of yet. Though I assume the only peeling will be from the sides, which I don't mind to take off if it does peel but it's on like glue still.
I actually work for ghost armor, and I also have a note , they do sell other colors other then black, gray and white. I myself have almost a lime green on my Note and it looks quite good!

Please Don't Use A Plastic Case...

On your brand new EVO LTE. I see so many people get these ZOMGCOPTER cases that are bullet proof and rapture proof. Do not get a case that directly touches your phone without a rubber insulator. Otterbox is awesome. They use a nice rubber in between your phone and their plastic case. Plastic clips still clutch at your phone and will scratch the four corners that they do touch over time.
Do us all a favor and buy a TPU or nice gel case on ebay for $3 in two weeks. Your phone will last until then.
I made the horrible mistake of using a plastic case on my OG Epic the day it came out. Yeah your remember. The Sprint case that was chrome and had a leather middle piece. It looked pimp. In fact it was. It made my phone it's ho. Plastic to plastic = scratches all around the edge of my phone.
Use a rubber ladies and gentlemen.
If your me, you don't use anything, but with the new upcoming changes to Sprint's TEP program, you may want to consider an awesome case and drop that coverage. Research it, unless you want to pay more come June.
That is all.

No that part is fine, the plastic area; not so much.
My otterbox has no rubber except the outer covering. The trick to not scratching your phone while in a case is to keep dirt out of it, which the otterbox does extremely well.
"ZOMGCOPTER"
What's that?
I don't understand why people buy covers and screen protectors at all.
1. The glass is IMPOSSIBLE to scratch. It will NOT scratch. The lame plastic cover will, and will look stupid.
2. A scratched thin phone looks infinitely better than a perfect phone that's inside of a huge case.
Your phone is worth nothing in 24 months, enjoy it.

Exactly I used a case for all of 2 weeks with my og Evo and a screen protector for about 3 hours. Never put anything on my 3D and both phones were fine. I just hate that cases make buttons less functional and screen protectors blah nothing beats finger to glass.

1. It is most definitely possible to scratch. I have done so. Working construction, my phone is subjected to metal shavings and concrete dust. The latter will most certainly scratch the screen.

If you drop your phone on its corner while it is in a case, most likely, the case is the only thing that gets damaged. Not always, but most likely. After the newness wears off on the phone and you start putting it in your pocket with your keys, the screen will eventually get scratched.
Buy a decent case and screen protector and you can't go wrong. I personally love the Clarivue screen protectors. Static cling. Cases, I haven't found any that impress me but I haven't had an OtterBox.
Well the case that sprint is going to sell with the eco looks decent. But then again I didn't open it

I agree with dropping the phone. I have a Seidio surface on my EVO 4g. It saved my butt quite a few times.

This. I always make sure that my keys and my phone are NOT in the same pocket lol
I would love to go naked in my phone but o know the minute I do I will drop it and it will shatter ..I try to buy very minimal cases. But as the op said plastic on phone does scratch ..I have an evo 3d and bought a plastic case that was two pieces..top and bottom that would slide together in the middle and click..it also had a dandy kickstand built in ..its a nice case but I flashed the **** out of that phone so needless to say I was pulling that case often to remove the battery ..after a while all the paint around the edge of the screen had come of ..it looked fine in the case but looked terrible when I took it off..not a prob now since the digitizer went back and I just got jt replaced ..and the replacement speaker is bad..so I have another waiting at Sprint ..I enjoyed my evo 3d and think it got a bad rap but I did go through like 4 before I had one that lasted me 9 months
Always keys on left, phone on right.
Since I like charging on a dock I wanted a simple pull off case, so I got a case mate one piece case, (just to protect the back and camera lense), and a bodyguard screen protector. Best screen protector I've ever used.

Most of my pants have pockets inside of pockets. Since I am a firefighter, i do sometimes have my phone on scene and it tends to go through a beating throughout its life. All my phones have a OtterBox defender (would get lifeline if they got smart and went ouside of just crApple products) with a screen protector that gets replaced about every 3 months.
I took my screen off the case and screen protector the other day and 1 of my co-workers asked if my new phone came in yet. It looks brand spanking new minus a tiny barely noticeable scratch on the screen.

I work building cranes and constantly dig metal shavings out of my pocket...I can only imagine what my old 3D would look like without the case/screen protector. I agree with the sentiment. I go naked
However, gorilla glass most certainly can scratch if you're not careful. Been rocking my OG Epic for 18 months naked, and I'm really careful, but somehow I did acquire a few minor scratches on the screen. I can only assume I had sand in my pocket or something.

Full body screen protector?

I would like to get a full body screen protector since the back of my black lumia is really slippery and I am afraid to drop the phone.
I did this too many times with my HTC Titan but never since I got a protector on the back which gave it a nice grip.
Suggestions?
GadgetShieldz
because i'm a newbie i can't insert gadgetshieldz link to you.maybe their product will help solve your problem
I had Ghost Armor full body put on mine at their kiosk in the mall. The back wraps all the way around from screen to screen. The screen protector is about a hairs width too narrow in my opinion but it's still very good. Can't even tell its on. No rubbery feel or orange peel. The end pieces are ok. The speaker end goes from screw to screw but is cut out for the speakers and USB plug. The SIM card end has a cutout for the headphone jack but stops at the sim tray.
The back does give a nice grippy feel without being rubbery. I had the clear put on my red 920 and really like it but they also have some carbon fiber colors. I actually considered the black or grey because it would have left just enough of the red case showing to look kind of like pinstripping. But decided I liked my red.
My only suggestion is to have them put it on. One, it's a wet install and if they screw it up they will fix it at no additional charge. They charge $15 here for the install.
Two, they have a heat device that aids with the shrinking to fit. Better chance of no bubbles. I used to put Zagg on all my devices. Ghost Armor is better I think.
I'm quite happy with mine, grippery, screen protector feels just the same as the glass to me, I don't have to worry about laying it down anywhere or throwing it into my purse or pocket with keys or anything.
Oh, and my charging stand works fine.

I can try. The only camera I have handy is my iPad and my desktop is getting a makeover (new motherboard and RAM) so the only computer I have around is my iPad.
Sorry if the pics are really big.
Also I can't really show you the back where the skin meets the glass because it is so close it doesn't show up.
Edit: looks like only one uploaded. Pm me and I'll email you the others.

Let me try one at a time
Here's another edge
Here's the top
Here's the bottom
All the little white flakes are from the tissue I laid it on. The only white thing I could find quickly. The screen is perfectly clear and easy to wipe off.

I think Skinomi cutting is better.
My friend has Skinomi on his NL920, however it covers the proximity sensor, which makes the screen off during call.
He said Skinomi just sent him a revised one.
I think I will get the Invisible Shield, because I have some zagg gift cards lol
Here are some pics of Skinomi

skinomi doesn't stick on the glossy models it seems. A bit disappointed to be honest.

You're very welcome.
It does look to be a better fit. Mine could be just a hair bit wider. I'm very happy with the fit of the back but their screen dimensions do need work. There's no cutout for the sensor but I haven't had any issues. It works fine. The main difference I see with the skinomi is it looks like it has a bit of 'orange peel' and I really dislike that on mine.
I'm loving mine because I don't have to worry about tossing it in my purse or coat pocket. I think that all these types are pretty much the same. They are certainly much better than the old Zagg I used for years. I didn't care for the orange peel or the grip but they were pretty much indestructible. And that's the point
Good luck.

AMA - I Applied the OP6T tempered glass protector

So I received the 3D tempered glass yesterday and applied it.
Here are my thoughts:
It ships pretty quickly (at least in India) and comes in a nice box for safety.
The tempered glass is really nice to touch and feels solid and smooth.
All tools provided are really nice quality. Although, I was expecting an alcohol swab as well which wasn't included in the box.
Applying the screen protector is.. HARD. Only proceed if you're really experienced with applying one. I've applied over 20 protectors by now (I know it's not a lot, but hey!) and they were nothing compared to this one.
Before applying the TGP, make sure you wash your hands, switch on as many lights as possible, switch off the fan/reduce the AC blow as you don't wanna mess up with lint on your phone.
The amount of bubbles that come on the screen are just crazy. Thankfully they'll provided us with a squeegee which helps nicking the bubbles down. Keep in mind, it is a crazy task. I took approx 20 mins to remove all the bubbles. Hell! they were difficult to squeeze out.
Pro tip: Clean your TPU case thoroughly before applying the TGP otherwise the amount of dust which comes along is crazy! Trust me, I regret not cleaning it. Caused me to nick a small part of my glass which looks ugly now, but I think I can live with that.
I'd say the TGP is not the 'perfect' fit when you're trying to install it with the TPU case on. Otherwise, it looks and feels good with the case and a perfect fit when everything is done.
It does have thick borders. Nothing that'll make you go crazy. It'll cover a tiny bit of screen from all sides. So, in Chrome, I can't see the scrollbar after applying the TGP. At the bottom of the screen, it's a bit more curved which can lead to approx 0.1mm of text being cut off. Nothing major.
If you guys have any other questions, fire away!
Does the phone feel more thick?

Kinda, yes. It is glass so obviously it's going to add little weight and thickness to the phone.
I can say one thing, it's a million times better than the factory screen protector.
I had a lot of grief applying mine, gave up in the end and binned it, I followed none of the instructions above!
Oh and I had a hangover...so £20 down the toilet.

In what ways is it a "million times" better?
I also put it on my phone---I've done lots and lots of these before, including whitestone dome. The oneplus was quite tricky. I still ended up with two bubbles along the right side where the black border is. Won't even squeeze out. That sucks. Otherwise no complaints. Don't even notice it's on. I especially like the smoothness of the edges. Makes offscreen/edge gestures nice---no sharp edge.
Overall, I'm pretty "meh" on it. I'd love a dome but they said "not doing it".
why are the borders black? I mean, if they were transparent they wouldn't block anything from the screen. For me, the black boarders are a high design fail.

The quality of the screen and the brightness! OMG. It's crazy bright even in the dimmest room (as compared to before)

Yeah the bubbles are annoying as hell. Even I'm left with one now (that came out of the blue as I was typing this message).

Not sure but it's mean to improve the 3D effect.
The only question I have for you is if you can apply mine for me? Haha I'm super OCD about the way my screen looks but I'm not very good at screen protectors...

Haha! I wish I could. I'll give you one advice though, don't apply the screen protector if you're super OCD about it. Reason? I got two bubbles pop in after 24 hours of applying. Granted that I just had to press on the screen again to make them disappear but the glue randomly comes off I guess? Also, it's **** hard to apply it for anyone.
I was surprised at how easy I found it to apply, maybe because I have messed up so many in the past!
I feels great, I love it. Tiny black border, but it doesn't bother me at all.
I just got mine in the mail and applied it as soon as I got home and washed my hands. Set everything out and set about putting it on. I've applied tons of protectors and skins. Tempered glass are my favorite to apply because of how easy they are. As others have said this one gave me a little tight, the glass is stiffer than anything I've worked with before. Or maybe it just feels that he way, but the free bubbles remaining absolutely required the squeegee tool to niggle them out. I've gotten them all out now and I love this protector. I dropped something on my standard protector like the week I bought the phone and it cracked the protector so I've been waiting for this to come.
It does add some thickness obviously, but it's not too bad. I have the fabric backed case and the sandstone case and it sits exactly at the edges of those cases.
As to the question of the black border, I'm trying to see if I can see anything missing and I can't tell yet. I've tried angling the phone and trying to look "under" the edges but couldn't see anything. I know with previous curved edge screens the border was there to hide the fact that it wouldn't fit exactly "flat" on the border. The black edge hid the halo ring, not sure if that's the case with this protector though since I've read they will be coming out with a full clear one, although I'm not a 100% on that source. I'll post pics shortly.
They may not be top quality all I had to take the photos with was my wife's tablet at the moment, but should give you an idea of what it looks like. Showed pics with both cases and naked.
i just got mine and finished applying it. It does take patience for sure, i had a ton of bubbles but patience, the microfiber, squeegee and fingernails and they are all worked out and it looks perfect. by far the best despite the small bit of loss from the black border.
My screen protector came like this. It seems like the adhesive was spread unevenly or something. I'm currently waiting for the response from OnePlus support.
I purchased and applied one as well (USA). It's by far the best one I've tried so far, but it's a downright awful screen protector as far as an OEM accessory goes.
Save your money for now, like most OnePlus stuff you'll need to wait a while for them to realize their mistakes and come out with a proper implementation.
The mounting process is by far one of the most difficult and involved I've ever experienced. The printed instructions are missing so much detail, but thankfully it directs you to a video. I followed the video as exactly as I could. The screen protector comes mounted to a very rigid "plate" of plastic and is firmly adhered to it. Removing it from this plate takes so much force that I was worried I would break the screen protector at times. Due to this it takes quite some time to remove it safely, which gave plenty of time for the adhesive side of the protector to be exposed to the open air for dust and debris to get in. The point of the usual flimsy plastic sheet on the adhesive side of most screen protectors is that you can fold it over and slowly peel it off as you apply the glass. OnePlus seems to have decided to re-engineer the application process for no apparent or advantageous reason, resulting in an inferior and flawed process.
Like OP said, there are so many bubbles to remove after the initial application. The black edges are there to conceal the fact that the protector cannot perfectly adhere to the curved edges of the device's screen. These imperfections bleed in air under the protector and hours after installing it I had to keep going back and working out bubbles.
For how much these things cost there are so many issues is laughable.
It comes packaged nicely...

It's probably due to how firmly glued the screen protector is to that plastic plate. The adhesive probably tore off while it was being removed.

I thought of that too. It wasn't an issue with the OnePlus 5T screen protector and sure as hell it shouldn't be an issue at all at that price. I'm hoping that OnePlus will step up in this situation.
I've seen gaps in the adhesive on other screen protectors before. The PureArc for my S9+ had it and that had a traditional backing

I bought one of these and some of the ones of Amazon the OEM was definitely disappointing the application process alone was horrendous..the ones on Amazon all have the same issue that the in display fp reader is almost non operable after a while...even though I have re-registered my print multiple times...for now I'm just gonna go screen protector less till better options become available.
