Full body screen protector? - Nokia Lumia 920

I would like to get a full body screen protector since the back of my black lumia is really slippery and I am afraid to drop the phone.
I did this too many times with my HTC Titan but never since I got a protector on the back which gave it a nice grip.
Suggestions?

GadgetShieldz
because i'm a newbie i can't insert gadgetshieldz link to you.maybe their product will help solve your problem

I had Ghost Armor full body put on mine at their kiosk in the mall. The back wraps all the way around from screen to screen. The screen protector is about a hairs width too narrow in my opinion but it's still very good. Can't even tell its on. No rubbery feel or orange peel. The end pieces are ok. The speaker end goes from screw to screw but is cut out for the speakers and USB plug. The SIM card end has a cutout for the headphone jack but stops at the sim tray.
The back does give a nice grippy feel without being rubbery. I had the clear put on my red 920 and really like it but they also have some carbon fiber colors. I actually considered the black or grey because it would have left just enough of the red case showing to look kind of like pinstripping. But decided I liked my red.
My only suggestion is to have them put it on. One, it's a wet install and if they screw it up they will fix it at no additional charge. They charge $15 here for the install.
Two, they have a heat device that aids with the shrinking to fit. Better chance of no bubbles. I used to put Zagg on all my devices. Ghost Armor is better I think.
I'm quite happy with mine, grippery, screen protector feels just the same as the glass to me, I don't have to worry about laying it down anywhere or throwing it into my purse or pocket with keys or anything.
Oh, and my charging stand works fine.

I can try. The only camera I have handy is my iPad and my desktop is getting a makeover (new motherboard and RAM) so the only computer I have around is my iPad.
Sorry if the pics are really big.
Also I can't really show you the back where the skin meets the glass because it is so close it doesn't show up.
Edit: looks like only one uploaded. Pm me and I'll email you the others.

Let me try one at a time

Here's another edge

Here's the top

Here's the bottom
All the little white flakes are from the tissue I laid it on. The only white thing I could find quickly. The screen is perfectly clear and easy to wipe off.

I think Skinomi cutting is better.
My friend has Skinomi on his NL920, however it covers the proximity sensor, which makes the screen off during call.
He said Skinomi just sent him a revised one.
I think I will get the Invisible Shield, because I have some zagg gift cards lol
Here are some pics of Skinomi

skinomi doesn't stick on the glossy models it seems. A bit disappointed to be honest.

You're very welcome.
It does look to be a better fit. Mine could be just a hair bit wider. I'm very happy with the fit of the back but their screen dimensions do need work. There's no cutout for the sensor but I haven't had any issues. It works fine. The main difference I see with the skinomi is it looks like it has a bit of 'orange peel' and I really dislike that on mine.
I'm loving mine because I don't have to worry about tossing it in my purse or coat pocket. I think that all these types are pretty much the same. They are certainly much better than the old Zagg I used for years. I didn't care for the orange peel or the grip but they were pretty much indestructible. And that's the point
Good luck.

ZAGG IS available for D2..

I'm wait first review..
Thanx its ordered
thanks, i ordered too!!!
Count me in as well...
Bought one last night
I purchased a few screen protectors off eBay.... and NONE of them actually cover the entire surface of the screen.
This looks pretty amazing!
But I must say that it feels a bit strange to spray the fluid on the back of the protector and then squeeze it out, can't this fluid get into the earphone, speaker and around the buttons below the screen?
this doesn't look bad, but i think i'll stay with my Brando screen protector, which imo is cool enough, and will get a rubber-ish backplate as soon as one with a correct price will appear.
I have been searching for a skin like this for my Diamond2. I have read that this Zagg skins all have a orange coat on top that makes a very undesirable effect. Any one can confirm this?
And what about phantom skynz? They provide full body protection, but the model for the D2 its not available yet ...

Just ordered.
Thank you bro!
Just installed the InvisibleSHIELD...
I just installed the invisibleShield I ordered from Zagg a few days ago. Installation was a little tricky, but using the solution made it easy(ish). I used a lot more spray than they recommended, but took the battery/sim/SD card out first. I left it drying for 12 hours, and everything switched on fine.
My advice to anyone getting this is to watch some installation vids on YouTube.
I bought it for the screen protector really as I am very clumsy with other WM phones in the past.
The main issue I have, which is a major one, is that the kit for the Diamond 2 is actually 7 pieces which you install piece by piece. Some of these pieces (like the brushed metal pieces on the edge) are very thin and warp easily. I thought when I purchased this that the screen piece would be one part, where the edges would 'fold' around the sides. This is NOT the case. As a result, the actual edges are not covered at all. These pieces don't meet to form a solid shield, but leave gaps between the edges. I have included some pictured to highlight this.
The actual effect on the screen is ok. The screen is bubble-less, but there is a slight sheen on the front. When the screen is on, its not noticable. Also, the shield is a little 'tacky' - not a lot, but it does help feel more snug in your hand. However, for the same reason, the touch screen (when using a stylus) it doesn't feel as smooth as without.
My overall opinion is that if you are looking for something to stop scratching the screen then its great, but if you are looking for something to make your phone indestructible, look elsewhere.
So you bought the protection that coveres the entire phone?
I'm planning to buy the cover for the display only, was the display cover hard to get in place?
agento
7 pieces....so you have 1 piece for backplate,2 in front and 4 for the sides?
Is that correct?
Thanks for sharing the info. Does the IS make it difficult to get the backplate off?
Does it make the front, back or sides feel or look noticeable different?

There is the front piece, the back piece, 2 thin strips for the sides and 2 small rectangles for the bottom side near the stylus. So 6, not 7. I can't count!

No, the IS covers the back plate, but it doesn't wrap over the sides. The back slides off just as easy as ever.

The front just looks like a normal screen protector. The back looks glossier. The touch though, as stated earlier, is slightly tackier. The only thing is the gaps where the IS doesn't meet.
Not trying to bum you out, but... the pictures you posted show a pretty messy device. Doesn't have a "clean" look anymore, is this because of the ZAGG?

I just ordered an Exim SPUC one from ebay, £6 with free delivery, always had Exim, never had any problems
been using Brando Antiglare (blue packaging) protectors for years. got one on my TP2 as well.
Also been using Brando Antiglare protectors on my HD. It's the best for me...
Can you guys comment on the change to sensitivity of the touch screen?
Does one have to press stronger with the protector installed?
More misses with the protector? Loss of sensitivity?
Seeing it in the sun will be a real plus for me on the TP2...can a few of you tp2 owners comment if it was with or without a screen protector? Which way was best for the screen clarity?
i a cheap set of 2 from ebay and it dousnt look like the maked had even seen the phone before, it even covers the buttons witch arnt flush lol, anyway i complained and he said that a few people had complaind and there manufacturor was going to make new ones so hopefully they get it right this time
Got a brando anti-glare yesterday (had one many years ago on my SE P900) and while it's a good quality protector, I find the matte texture disperses the colour on the screen, making it look "wet".
For an example of how it looks, smear a wet finger across your screen and notice the colour distortion. That's what I get from the brando anti-glare. It also had a slight crease in it out of the packet, meaning that there is a perpetual air bubble underneath the crease that I cannot smooth out.
Better than the stock one for quality, but a couple of niggles.
I have an EXiM SPUC and a brando ultra-clear on order - hope one of these will be better.

I got this as well, went on really easy, much better than the stock one. Quarintus recommended using a credit card to eliminate bubbles ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520946 ). -Is there nothing that Visa and Maestro can't do?
Yeah I know about using a credit card to get rid of bubbles. The problem is in the area of the crease it sits slightly above the surface of the screen, meaning that air gets underneath it. Only way I could get around it is to try and bend the crease out, but I reckon I'd cause more damage that way!
This one is nice.

Hi, im new to this just ordered my TP2 can any1 comment on how good the screen protector is which is supplied with the phone and if its worth buying a better one??
I found the one in the box to be very flimsy and not resistant to scratches at all.
Sure it protects the screen, but it will look very ugly after a very short amount of time.

Agreed, well worth changing it when you measure the cost of the protector against the cost of the phone
Does anyone have the same problem with this phone that I had with my Diamonds screen protectors, which was the protector peeling off when I put the phone in my pocket?
I had to cut all of the corners off the protector, and the 3-5mm off the top to stop it happening
its paypall, so you dont have to pay it
can any1 confirm this if its any good, worth buying or not??

Screen Protector

I'm trying to decide which will be a better fit for a screen protector. Right now, there really seems to be only two contenders. The Zagg and the Skinomi, links provided. I know there are generic protectors but I'm looking for the "best of class" for this beast. Anyone have any suggestions before I scratch this baby?

I personally hate the wet type of protectors for the screen. It messes up the smoothness of the touchscreen & your fingers don't glide over it easily (especially the tacky feeling Zaggs. Those are the worst).
Go with the dry ones (the kind that use static cling to stick). I ordered the REALOOK protector from Amazon that gets good reviews on their other devices. Should be here in a day or two. They feel as smooth as glass.
I guess it's a matter of preference. I had a Zagg on my Focus for a year now, and it works great for me. It does give the screen a more "grippy" feel though, but I actually like that. If you want it to feel slick, I probably wouldn't go with the wet style. Another plus for the wet though is that it's pretty much invisible when applied. You won't get any peeling or bubbling like a dry protector. A lot of screen protectors are quite noticeable when they're put on a phone.
Reading the Realook reviews on Amazon shows they get mostly great reviews. I might have to give them a try one day. For now, I'll stick with Zagg though. It just arrived yesterday, and my phone should be in by Thursday, so it'll be the first thing I install.
AT&T
I got the one from AT&T from there website and LOVE LOVE the feel it gives.
Just enough Drag to feel comfortable.

Not bad at all
Brando Ultra Clear is the best.
got the htc one from clove technology.excellent fit
My Realook screen protectors came in today. I held off on installing the Zagg to try these. I can say, this is probably the most crystal clear protector I've ever put on a phone. It is 100% invisible.
So what's the con. The fit is so exact, they must have measured in microns. It still bubbles up at the extreme top right corner because it's hitting the small ridge that loops the front face. I definitely ding it for that. I guess if you have robo eyes and can place this thing on exactly, and I do mean EXACTLY, it would be the best protector I've seen. I can't see any blank space what so every, but it's still not on 100%.
The screen is slightly less slippery which I like too. It gives it a better feel. For the price, I think it's worth it. Besides, even if it peels off, you still have a second one to apply.

Yep, got mine in too. And I agree. Its almost TOO perfect, meaning they cut this thing so there's hardly ZERO room for error when applying. I actually ended up scrapping the first one I applied (it comes w two) because I wasn't satisfied with the slight bubble in the corner.
But I FINALLY managed to install the second one perfectly. Now its amazing & 100% perfect. Thank God, cause it freakin took forever. You really have to have patience when applying these. Be sure to stick a small piece of scotch tape on the bottom side so you can peel it up easily, because you're going to be doing that a lot to get it to seat just right.
I installed the maximum body Zagg and the screen protector turned out perfect. I've installed zaggs on LG Quantum, and Samsung Focus so I had some practice. For some reason the Titan zagg seems better quality than the ones installed on the other phones. I'm really not seeing any orange peel. I also put on the case mate tough case and doesn't mess up the zagg protection at all. For the Titan I love the Zagg
Sent from my HTC Titan using Board Express
I never liked the grabbiness of the Zagg protectors. I ordered the ATT offered two-pack not knowing they were the full on glare reducing version. At first, it was a little too much, but the glare reduction seems to settle in a bit with use. OR my eyes are used to it now, but I quite like it after using it for a while. I matches the matte finish of the phone.
That said, I do want a screen protector that doesn't have anti-glare made by the same people as the ATT Samsung Focus version. Super slick, was pretty tough. Anyone know the vendor that made it for ATT?
"Orange peel" - that's a good description of my Focus Zagg screen protector. It didn't bother me though. I still have my Zagg in my drawer if the Realook craps out, but I don't think so.
I just bought the Skinomi Carbon Fiber full body kit that comes with a screen protector and really like it.
One BIG problem though: The Carbon Fiber back skin seems to have killed my signal strength. I now get no service instead of 3 bars? It covers the whole back of the phone. Even the plastic antennae area.
I'm surprised that it would kill your signal strength. I would check the metal contacts on the back case and the phone to make sure everything is touching and seated properly. Someone else in the forum tried that, and it fixed their problem.
I'm using atFolix anti-glare screen protector, it's brilliant get improved contrast and it's finger print resistant!

Ok I'll answer my own question! Curiosity got better of me so decided to get Rock Naked Screen Protector AF & AG, and sure enough it's clearer then atFolix anti-glare screen no frost effect!
So if anyone's interested here are the Pros and Cons between the two screen protectors:
atFolix anti-glare got it from here http://www.amazon.co.uk/atFoliX-FX-...0VSQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330083294&sr=8-1 :
Pros:
- Easy to fit
- Perfectly fits the screen of the Titan no gaps!
- Excellent anti-glare and anti-fingerprint
Cons:
- You lose sharpness of the display and get frosted glass effect on close inspection!
- Easily scratches!
Rock Naked Screen Protector AF & AG got it from here http://www.obostore.com/rock-anti-f...ed-screen-protector-for-htc-titan-p-3597.html :
Pros:
- Good anti-glare and anti-fingerprint
- You don't lose sharpness of display i.e. no frosted glass effect
Cons:
- Fiddly to put on!
- Not a perfect fit for Titan about 1mm gap around screen!
- Easily Scratches
For me between the two I prefer the Rock Naked Screen Protector over atFolix losing screen sharpness/frosted glass effect was too much of a compromise!

[Q] Favorite Screen Protector?

Just got my first screen scratch on my new Rezound yesterday and have been kicking myself ever since. I've used screen protectors in the past on my tablets, but I personally didn't like the way they felt. They felt plasticky and cheap, whereas the glass screens were so smooth and premium-feeling.
My question to you, the Internet, is about screen protectors. Which one do you like most? Which one feels most like glass/is least noticeable/etc.?
(I searched, but most of the recommended ones in other threads are not produced for the Rezound yet.)
I havent found any legit ones on ebay yet. I like the rubbery film protectors not the hard plastic ones. My favorite for the Inc1 and 2 was the NakedShield. Those were awesome. Couldnt even tell there was anything on it.
I bought one from ebay by "xtreme guard" and it was awful. Pretty good materials but terrible shipping. I got several replacements from him because he ships them alone in an envelope and they come stuck to the side and rip when taken out. I told him several times and attempted to send him pictures of me opening the envelope and seeing the destroyed product but he didnt care
I have one from verizon that I got when I purchased the phone and it's ok, but I have used the seidio ultimate screen guard on every phone I've had since the Evo 4g on Sprint and I really like the feel of them. It's really clear, goes on easy and doesn't feel sticky. I would recommend them.
http://www.seidioonline.com/htc-rezound-screen-guard-protector-p/spm1htrzd.htm
I like the rubbery kind cause they don't scratch or mar.
I use the Ghost Armor brand.
It's crystal clear.
Smooth but not plastic feel.
Some people talk about orange peel effect, for me I only see it if I hold the phone at extreme angle. I never see it or feel it in actual use.
The Ghost Armor seems to be more finger oil resistant than nakedd or the plastic static screen protectors.
And with Ghost's you get life time replacements for your device.
They also have kiosk in malls, where they do installs and replacements.
Yeah $5 replacements and $20 for initial product and install. Ebay protector costs $2 and does the same thing plus I don't have to stick it in an oven or coat it in water.
anybody find one that covers the whole screen including the camer, LED and light sensor?
I've been using (and loving) Skinomi. Yeah, with that name it sounds like it should be sold in a sex shop, but it's a fantastic screen protector. It feels like the bare glass, is crystal clear, and can be put on easily.
You know, now that I think about it, maybe it SHOULD be sold in a sex shop...

Well that's one way to look at it. My previous phone I put the full body Ghost armor on myself, went like 9 months, no case, then it started to peel around the edges got it re-skinned for 5 and it lasted another 18 months until I got this phone.
I tried those static protectors and I just don't like the feel, and they get smudges galore.
E-bay may have something just as good or better but I don't know what it is, and don't have the time to waste buying from a bunch of different places. There's probably a thousand choices on eBay, but I have no clue which is good or if they are even consistent with what they sell. They may be getting screen protectors from several manufacturers.
I'm not certain, but I thought the 5 buck replacement is only if you have it re-installed at a kiosk?
I picked up the clear Halo ones off of Amazon, and am really happy. Don't like the rubbery Zagg ones, and don't like the anti-glare ones as they seem to mess with the clearness of the screen.
I bought the clear Verizon ones when I picked up the phone, and while they are clear, they scratch very easily.
I've had the Halo ones for about a week. They are just as clear, and haven't scratched yet. They fit better than the Verizon, a bit wider so they cover edge to edge, but not quite tall enough. (When you install them, start at the top)

so far the Seido ultimate screen guards have satisfied me, as clear as the glass, no distortions at any angle... I do recommend!
Just got a second one from "Clear Freak" on ebay. He sent me one for the wrong phone. So I'm having no luck with eBay protectors. I trimmed it to fit but wouldnt advise it. I do tint all day so it came pretty easy to me
Pretty happy with the one that came with my otterbox. tried the Zagg but didnt get along with that one.
I have the REALOOK Crystal Clear one. works very well and no distortions. fits the front plate perfectly from edge to edge. It covers the capacitive buttons, camera hole, and proximity sensor.
Applied in a steamed bathroom and result had no air bubbles.

Not a good idea. Had several people call in with water damage on their phones and I had to tell em tough luck. Doesn't matter if it actually has water damage just if the external or internal sticker turns pink

I just got in my Boxwave Crystal Clear today and it fits over the entire glass top to bottom with a cutout for the front facing camera. I had one on my Dinc for 2 years and it was great--got very view scratches--and I like the feel on the screen. They are expensive but can be removed, cleaned, and replaced.

I've had these for about a month, and they're the best. It still feels like you just have the glass on it still, and it really does cover every part of the glass area. You honestly forget there's anything on it.

I love my ZAGG protector. They're difficult to put on, but it's worth it. Had one for the DInc and it lasted the entire two years until my upgrade, and is still currently on there! I don't get the rubbery feel that others mentioned, mine is smooth as a baby's bottom.

Press your fingernail into the black area above or below the screen. You will see it is not hard like the bare glass. That small bit of give is what is being described. The static screen protectors don't have that.

I agree, REALOOK Screen Protectors are good quality. It covers the entire face, with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint qualities...

Has anyone bought this yet that is on XDA? I just purchased it and should get it Monday. The reviews look like it's pretty awesome, especially the customer images of it.
I'll definitely report back with pictures and case compatibility. I have the Orzly Fusion and Sandstone from OnePlus.
Pictures are down in the post.

At first I heard the popping noise, and was like oh no... But then I used a hairdryer and pressed down a little bit and it's no longer popping. The protector fit perfectly, each cutout was in perfect alignment, and the cutouts are smaller than the Orzly which makes it look a lot better without having huge areas for error. The glass itself feels great, not quite as good as the actual screen but close.
I definitely recommend it after these first couple of hours.
The second picture (taken outside) with the Orzly Fusion case, the first (inside) is with the One Plus Sandstone case. When I switched cases, the popping came back, so that just means the Fusion case was holding down the sides enough to keep it all stuck down, which works for me as I rarely have my case off.
I can update again later on if anything happens. I've already broken 3 TGSP already.... Haha

Thank you, I am curious how it would come out. The pictures don't show the halo or oil effects because the screen is off and to the side in the reviews!
I wouldn't just look at the best reviews to be honest, you're always best to get a feel for all the reviews, especially this one:
I was looking for something with full coverage and the 3d edges, which this has, but after 1 day there is dust under the screen protector and it makes a clicking noise when pressed in a majority of the bottom 1/4 of it. I'm using the oneplus silicon case so its not an issue with the case pressing against it and lifting it up either, and it's lined up very well, as this isn't my first screen protector installation.

That makes it sound like it's similar to the Orsly protector as in it looks great at first but then the sides will let in dust. Also, some of the names in those top reviews look dodgy and are probably fake accounts, they're all one single name like "Sally", Amazon doesn't follow those naming conventions, it's usually "Sally.B".
I'm guessing it'll be great at the start but you'll have problems with it adhering to the edges and you might hear clicky noises and have lack of responsiveness according to the less than 5 star ratings, let us know though?

Definitely. I'm still using my cracked Orzly right now. I'm scared to take it off cause it's my 3rd TGSP I've had (2x from Orzly and 1x OP TGSP [lasted 2days]). With that track record, my screen is bound to get shattered.

I've got an Orzly on mine just now with dust under the edges and an official TGSP from OnePlus still in the box cos I want to wait for the Spigen Neo Hybrid to be released and don't really want to use it until that's bought and on the phone.
It seems to be an issue with all of these protectors with the black surround, they only have adhesive on the edges so don't always keep it attached to the screen and dust ends up getting under the protector because it's flexed when you hold the case. Really think OnePlus needs to have a look at their screen design with the next phone and try to work better with these manufacturers' protectors.

I whole heartedly agree. Looking at how mine is cracked, it's almost aligned with the volume up/down button (two cracks btw), and the crack that is all the way through the protector aligns almost in the center of my volume down button... Which we have to hold down to boot into recovery manually... Which I do a lot. I have the fusion case from Orzly, which fits perfectly with the screen protector. I'm starting to think it fit too perfectly, and the pressure from holding volume down and power button at the same time caused the cracks.

It's not at all about working with these TGSP manufacturer's. It's the stle of glass they are putting on the phones (2.5d glass). ALL phone OEMs need to stay FAR away from 2.5d glass. There is no reason EVER to use 2.5d glass. This is why the TGSP don't work with the phones. This all started with the Note 4. You'd think these companies would learn not to use these type of glass on the phones.

No rainbow, at all. No dots either.
With the no dots though, its causing that popping sound. It's not that bad and not noticeable at all with the case on.
This might sound pretty ridiculous, but it's really reflective. I don't need a mirror anymore.
Update.
I am noticing some small dots now, and I've had my case off all yesterday and today and very minimal popping.
This TGSP is really clear. I really like it. I still recommend.

does it have adhesive across the entire glass or just the black edges?

Not the entire glass, which is causing the popping as its not very sticky.
been using it since last night. It's OK.
It is a quality piece and does cover the entire screen. Doesn't hinder screen usage (that much) but I don't like the bubble (more like air gap) between the screen and protector as only the blacked out edges adhere to the glass. and yes it makes popping noises and finger taps are loud too. Using with spigen rugged.
Its weird but not bad. I'll still probably end up switching to something that bonds to the glass. Any suggestions?
Mine has gotten a lot.... A LOT of dust under the screen near the fingerprint sensor, and going up. I'm going to take it off tonight and wash it with water and see if there is something that can be done with its unstickiness to make it better.
I can confirm that it is not compatible with the OtterBox
I also bought this tgsp only found 2 issues
1 lack glue so don't stick very well and makes poping sound when touch the screen ( I'm thinking on putting some glue, but don't know which one don't harm the screen)
2 the bezels cover like 2-3 pixel lines at lateral edges like op3 official curved does.
I'm using it with J&D cover and fits perfectly, as mentioned in post above, is not compatible with OtterBox case
