which is the best kernel for x10i??
It depends on your bootloader if it's locked or unlocked
i recommend the Doomlord kernel.. so far its the best kernel for me..
The Kernel from ThJap is the best kernel for me
Doomlords kernel is not stable. I don't know why?
I tried oc and no oc version..
Someone should create a flow-chart,with stems for like locked or unlocked bootloader. Then you can quickly see where you can go.
It took me a bit of time going in a certain direction, only to find I had to go back and reinstall stuff because it wasnt recommended for kernel/roms.
And Im testing doomkernelv06-1113 with feralab7.2.
I recommend DooMKernel..for now, it is the best kernel I used..

Either or, I find DoomKernel to be the most rockin' one available. Just throwing in my two cents!

i have not rooted it yet...my question is not regarding the root..
my device is running on gingerbread ...if i root it and install a custom ROM (ICS Based) do i have to get it unlocked again??
if its unlocked its unlocked, only way you will lose unlock is if you brick your device.

Incorrect.
Once you flash a rooted kernel its rooted. You could then flash a non-rooted rom (stock for example) and not have root access, until you flash another rooted kernel.
I wouls like to install ICS or JB on my Photon.
However, it is 2.3.5 locked BL.
Any version that works with that ?
Thanks
It can't happen. With a locked bootloader you can only use the stock kernel.
why ? My friend have a DROID 3 running ICS

until an unlocked bootloader is leaked from motorola or someone can find a work around. you will never be able to flash anything other than a stock rom. i think everyone has given up on unlocking the bootloader. the electrify has had a locked bootloader for a year and still nothing. so don't expect anything soon if ever. sorry. :crying:

I am not 100% sure but on the title it says "ALL BLs" which I suppose stands for all bootloaders so probably no you don't need to unlock it.
the rom u mentioned does not requires an unlocked bootloader...
bt it order to run any rom based on cm9 ... u need to unlock bootloader.... as these roms require a custom kernel
clear ?
it says no on the service info to unlock the bootloader so what can i do?
when i get home im gonna install cwm from here http://theunlockr.com/2013/01/14/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-the-sony-xperia-go/
