Sometimes i have problems with the proximity sensor in call. The proximity sensor isn't quick and i click accidentally some buttons that breaks the call. I would have an app that block the screen immediately after the calling start, and when i leave the ear from the screen the screen is still blocked. Is there? Is there also a feature in such roms for that? I use now the resurrection rom, but i have used also cm and oxygen, and i have had the same problem. Thanks

I have a strange problem. My phone's ambient/proximity sensor seems to be glowing dim red all the time. its really visible in the dark. it only starts to glow when the phone has booted into android. during the booting it stays off.
I understand some people will think I am confusing the LED for a sensor but let me assure you thats not the case. I am actuallt talking about the sensor situated on the right side of the earpiece beside the "SAMSUNG"'s letter G.

Thank You, That seems to fix the problem. However whenever I use the messaging app the dim red light comes on again.
Furthermore, Is this dangerous ? as I would just ignore it and keep using viber if its not a big deal.
Thanks

Nothing dangerous, you will see the sensor light in messaging app because the very same is used for Smart call feature

Hi,
I have seen a few threads on this problem. Proximity sensor showing 0,0 when tested. I am running CM10.1 was wondering if there is a way to disable the sensor, through coding or other means, any help and step by step would be apreciated.
Would a ghost sheild over the sensor cause issues with depth on the sensor?
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the help!! Hardware disabler is exactly what I was looking for.
I assume it's from the screen protector over the sensor

since putting my phone back to normal as it came out of the factoy earlier.. Ive noticed my phone rotates 180 deg side to side BUT it wont roate back to normal.. its really annoying. ive tried caliborating it, and still made no difference. I have screen rotation on in the notification bar and ticked in the settings. what else should i try?
I've done the keypad *#0*# and checked the sensor test page, accelerometer, gyroscope sensor and magnetic sensor are showing different figures as I move the phone around but it passed its test, the image test roates BUT doesnt go back to normal
