just want to say that LG´s Gingerbread release (v20c, v20g, v20e,...) is biggest sh... ever!
- ugly, unaligned icons in statusbar
- very bad battery life -> phone doesn´t sleep very well (it´s always active - so battery life is bad)
- sluggish menus
- problems with proximity sensor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jAmMgh0uY8)
- first 2~3 seconds of a call the microphone doesn´t work
- apps which use files on SD-Card and need read&write privileges most probably crash
The same problem for me but after i rooted the phone seem is better, at leat with the batery.

LG gb is a disaster. But I benefitted accidently and immensely from it. Lol. I got libbundlewrapper.so file for audio effects. Lol, I could have had this file from any gb rom in the android universe.
My cm7 is now complete with this file and I am enjoying cm7.
Top notch music, rocket speed, visually satisfying theming, excellent 3d, useful cm settings, internet. That's what I need. And, CM has it all.

LOL We should thank LG for atleast providing us such files, and already thank given to you for the idea of those files.
Somehow I feel you cant expect much from a low end phone but as devs say LG is **** with software development.
LG´s 2.2.2 was ok, but 2.3.3 is pure ****...
i don´t understand why they released it (everything is worse than in 2.2.2).
...unbelievable.

Hahaha, it's pretty good other ppl concerns too about the bugs!
I actually tried to made the list... you are missing the Mic bug I've added in my other post
Extending the item refereed to apps crashing...
I've been trying a few apps that before worked fine, and now it doesn't.
I contacted the devs of one of the apps, which kindly told me it was a problem with my phone because of this error... (taken from the error report)
Code:
"attempt to write a readonly database"
So, any app which uses files in SD and need read&write privileges, most probably it wont work

Totally agree with the topic's author. Especially with this problem:
- very bad battery life -> phone doesn´t sleep very well (it´s always active - so battery life is bad)
Any ideas how to fix it? As I have everything stock and have rooted the phone... Which option would be better: leave stock rom and flash, for example, franco's kernel? I don't want to change the rom, because I am satisfied with the stock one, but that battery problem drives me vrazy
Or maybe try to go back to 2.2 ?
Anyway, all possible solutions are welcome...
Thank you!
@up - use [APP] BetterBatteryStats to see which process wakelock your's phone.
If You use 3G/HSDPA data connection there is next bug in Gingerbread - DataTracker-FastDormancy will always awake phone - see Brainstorming: how to completely disable DataTracker-FD and Fast Dormancy (but this metod work only when You do not turn on data).
FastDormancy not turn off even when you turn off data, and make your phone always awake (in my phone i get 5% draining battery in 1,5h when not use).

Wow, now it is much more clear after your reply! Yes, I use 3G, and often notice, that battery drain occurs after using internet and turning it off...And after that, in battery monitor I always see uninterrupted blue line... Now it's clear.
However, I haven't tried the BetterBatteryStats. Now I am going to install it and see what I would get I can't live without 3G on the phone...So don't know what to do if there are no any other solutions...
UPDATE: Yes, You were right. The battery drain cause was by DataTracker-FD. I disabled Fast Dormancy and will see how it will behave in the future.

This theme was made with permission of "thebowers". It's his creation. I brought it into GB land for the X2. I don't know if I did everything he did but I can tell you that I have made image edits galore for resizing purposes and to get all the new GB images not yet themed. I have also edited the crap out of a lot of xml's so things should work 100% smoothly out of the box. I have also incorporated some inverted apps which, I had nothing to do with. Credit there goes to thebowers, ecsnead and B-Boy. I also made a few apps myself because once I got going on 0.2.2, I got carried away. Three of those apps incorporate to make the X2's first (that I know of anyway) Fully Functional and fully inverted Dialer. 0.4 had issues so, I started over at 0 and made the entire thing myself this time to make sure it all worked.
Also, I changed the boot animation. It matches the theme oh so well. Credit there goes to Versatile1 because he made it (on droidforums.net).
Before we begin, I will list all the apps I have included. For ease of use, I highly recommend getting rid of any app on the list from your phones data folder first. For example, if you downloaded Facebook from the market, remove it from your data folder. Not saying you HAVE TO, just putting it out there if you run into issues, you know how to fix them.
Also for the market... this one you do HAVE to do... First, verify that you DO NOT have a vending app in \data\app!!!!! If you do this will not install!!! You will need to uninstall updates before flashing... Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>"ALL" tab>Market>Uninstall Updates
Will it break your phone if you don't do that? No, it just won't install a market... at all!
Lastly, I have taken the time to guide every .9.png file in the framework and in every app I touched. What this means to you.... If you want to make other changes, everything will decompile and recompile without error. Of course you need to add the dependencies if your editing systemui or settings but thats a blur thing. Not something I did.
Now.. onto the part anyone actually cares about..
The theme is located at the bottom of the deepest cave, surrounded by guardian flying pigs who crave bacon and eggs.
Ive also included a BNB style Icon Pack because, if you are crafty enough to figure out how to install them, I'm crafy enough to share them It's not a huge list, it just covers the basic ones most people stick on the main homescreen.
You can get that here.. but you have to go through the cave first.
If you see any issues please let me know.
Heres the cool list that got into the party....
Framework
SystemUI
Calculator (everyones favorite)
Contacts (Inverted)
Dialer (Inverted)
Phone (Inverted)
Facebook (Inverted)
Gallery 3D
Gmail (Inverted)
Google Quick Search (Inverted)
Keyboard (Black) .. whichever one is in 0.5.. hard to keep up...lol
Gtalk (Inverted)
Market (Inverted)
Google Voice (Inverted)
Music (Black) ##This is NOT the music app that came with Eclipse and it will erase that one##
Notes:
Music app worked on my phone without skips or pops when multitasking.. hope yours does the same.
Battery icons are stock Eclipse.. 200 images to make from scratch takes time.
Settings (Manage Applications is white BG with Black text).. will fix that when I figure it out.
This theme is basically a complete inversion of stock (with different images too). It is dark. On the D1, it was a bit hard to see but with this glare resistant screen or the display quality or something, its quite easy. Plus is doesnt burn your eyeballs when using the phone in the dark.
The screens are from 0.4.... the unselected tabs in the screens now have black text
SCREENSHOTS
Lastly... if you like what I do.. hit the thanks button please. If you have issues, questions, trouble installing, suggestions for a new app to invert.. POST UP!!
I like it cannibal pigs lmao ;-)

My phone is stuck on installing update with this zip. I will have to do a battery pull in order to recover. I tried again and same thing this isn't installing properly or even coming close.
I will need some confirmation from someone else to see if they can or cannot instal it. In the meantime, I will reinstall Eclipse 0.5, download the file from the internet like everyone else has to, and, try installing it on my phone. Give me a few for the results.
Yeah I don't know man. Worked fine for me.
Tell me exactly how you are going about installing it. I will troubleshoot it with you.
I have .5 eclipse installed i reboot into recovery and flash zip from sd card it hangs on installing. Everytime I have tried it gives me the same thing. I haven't had any problems with any other themes either.
I installed fine had to dl twice the first was a "bad" zip but the second dl was fine

Ok I can't purchase anything from market replaced the black one with a regular version from xda and still no go not sure if its theme or rom
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
My understanding on that issue is the stock one is jacked up in that way as well. I have heard (but not tried) that there is a .dex file you can install and all will be well. It has something to do with the signature of the app and it not agreeing with Google purchasing market thing whatever it it is.
wdenker.. maybe try downloading the file again like xheavy did. You could have just gotten a bad d/l. I have this on XDA and DF and no ones having the issue. Also, did you try using this theme on 0.4 or 2.2?
Currently updating this theme some more. Nothing has been posted by me yet but.. I have settings now fully inverted no matter what you click on.. i.e. "Manage Applications". I am about 50% done theming Go Launcher, I have the power widget on status away from green and, lastly, (for now anyway), I will be making new battery images.
Also, I plan on pulling all of my apps and redoing their icons to match. If you have request for app shortcut icons, please let me know.
Thanks for the info bro but after searching I haven't been able to find anything. Would you be able to point me in the direction of that .dex file or thread that contains it? Lol I hate the search function on the xda app lol I miss my poor dr pepper soaked laptop lmfao
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
I asked about it... heres the info I got from a buddy,,, (the user names mentioned, except for the obvious are on DF)
there's no real fix... the certs files are an issue I think.. even the stock version is giving that error on some roms.. and my market works on most but some roms have the error.. bgill and BIGxie are both trying to figure it out also.. there's a user on XDA rujelus (I think) that has an inverted market also and his zip file worked on one of my roms that hadn't previously but then when I tried his again during testing, it wouldn't work anymore...
Ive themed every market since probably October of 2010. Best I can do is go backwards till one works, if any.. if you want.
Damn didn't even know there was this kind of problem lol its all good man it'll just force me to save money lmao

Don't feel bad. I didn't either til I started working on an orange theme and went to the market to buy a theme to see what orange would look like. FC and WTF! Checked around, apparently its hit or miss and no one can figure it out. Works on some ROMs, doesnt on others.

Was just going to update to v0.5 but I'll wait for your next release since i read your doing alot to it. I hope its not like first one was on my bad phone just kidding my old phone was just messed up read about a guy sending 7 DX2s back

I just flashed the Charmeleon rom but refuse to have Pokemon on my startup screen, especially the audio. I heard you could change it but I didn't see anything in the settings other than to disable the sound (which didn't work.)
I used TWRP and this is the first time I've ever done this... stupidly I didn't create a backup of my stock rom. How do I get back to the exact stock rom my phone came with (not sure of the name & version but it is the current rom, I have the EVO LTE and got it just a week ago.
Thanks for the help.

I have searched on phone issues and even messagebank... There was a post that seemed similar but not the same.
Unfortunately I can't say just where this issue came in; I only noticed it yesterday and, as mentioned in another thread, I have been trying out ROM flashing. My GUESS would be it has to do with flashing 'modem_CWM_I9300XXDLH7' but that is purely a guess because it is call related.
I have flashed a stock ROM, GT-I9300_XSA_1_20120710170916_9xjds9h0pm to install an Aussie ROM (phone from Kogan and was German model) and more recently flashed 'Kernel_CM10_20120820_Official_CWM' in preparation for trying a JB ROM. (I am planning on using 'I9300XXBLH4_Jelly_Bean_4.1.1_Clean_Stock_Rom_Nandroid_Backup' for a first try)
SO, phone seems to be working well; I managed to crash it (stuck on Samsung screen) but have backups that brought me back up to where I was without too many issues.
But, I noticed yesterday I got a Telstra Messagebank notification for a missed call/voice message. It says it came from +101 but when I click the notification it takes me to a Telstra recording saying the number is not connected. This used to work. Dialling 101 works just fine and I have looked to try to locate where the phone has decided MB is now +101 but can't find it.
It's not a biggie, and I figure maybe I need to call Telstra to get their info resent or something, but it is a little annoying to have to dial each time instead of just press the notification.
Any ideas of what to try? I'm about to flash the JB ROM so if that fixes it I will be back (hopefully without dramas ) soon. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
XXBLH4 is a really old JB leak, flash XXDLH8 instead (DLH9 is newer but has a keyboard bug)
As for your problem, I don't know what to tell you but your carrier won't be able to help you as you have unofficial firmware on your phone and that may be the reason and they will only be able to assist you in regards to the official Telstra fw.
Is it really that big of a deal to dial 101?

that is a strange one. It seems as though it's trying to dial 101 as an international call (with that plus in front of it making it a call to USA number 01), when it should have picked it up as +61 101.
Out of curiosity, what does it come up with when you tap and hold on the SMS and go to "View Message Details"?
@nodstuff - The reason for I9300XXBLH4_Jelly_Bean was because, a. I found it and the file date was something like 25/8/12, and because the description said it has been cleaned up and all bloatware removed. I don't recall seeing XXDLH8 for download but I am new here... I was thinking along the lines of getting something known and stable for my first JB flash.
@Dinty - I don't get a 'View Message' option on a long tap, I get a menu with, Call +101, Send Msg, Edit numbr, Add to Contacts, Send Nmbr, Add to Reject list, Delete.
Further info just noticed - older call from MB (30/8 - prior to new Modem flash) came in as Int'l M'Bank with #101# so somewhere the MB number has altered.
I doubt Telstra will have an issue with the FW etc. It isn't their phone. I bought outright and would be speaking to a rep - IIRC when I got my Moto Defy from the dealer a couple of years back they had to send me a txt which I saved and it set up the Telstra info on the phone. Might be mistaken in memory of that though...
@nodstuff - do you have a recommendation for a XXDLH8 ROM to flash? I'm looking for stable with some optimisation and as clean of standard apps as possible. I've got an Apps backup in Titanium Pro that I figure I can use to put my new apps back.
Also, is the Keybd issue with LH9 itself or just with some ROM's?
thanks for the help...

Well don't flash XXBLH4 so, its very buggy and not stable.
XXDLH8 is very stable and pretty bug free.
There are a few downloads for it (cwm flashable, Odin or an ota package. I suggest cwm or Odin method as the ota method is quite tricky.)

I believe you're talking about the automatic set-up service. I think this is what you mean:

Not sure it will have any effect on that messagebank issue, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to try!

Thanks for the link - that looks what I originally had to do over the phone, but then I didn't have a Telstra account set up at that point.Didn't work unfortunately. le sigh!
So, I am now the owner of a JellyBean phone, all working nicely and with my apps installed again. All went smoothly and I just chose my purchased and download apps from my titanium backup and Voila!!!
I took the advice and installed GT-I9300_WanamLite.XXDLH8.V3.0.RC4.NO-WIPE - I thought about the DLH9 version of it but saw a note in the thread about keybd issues, so, taking the advice above I DL'd the DLH8 version.
Only thing I have noticed so far is it seems a bit slow on the USB charging. Once it's at 100% I will disconnect and see if maybe power is draining too fast, then look at ways to improve battery.
Just did some trials of the MB issue and noticed something odd - if I try to create a Contact I am unable to enter numbers in the name field. I also tried to set up my mobile banking and using the app provided by the bank I cannot use numbers for my ID, even though it is an 8 number ID. The Keybd simply will not change to numbers until I go to the PW line - is this the keybd error you mentioned as being present in DLH9, nodstuff??
Hm... so I took a chance and flashed Wanamlite's keybd fix; the thread says it is for DLH9 but I figured what the heck, if it fails the phone I can easily reflash the ROM.
Seems to have worked. Gonna leave a comment over there about it because I seem to have noticed something not mentioned by others.
Hey all,
I'm having some issues with the Eclipse ROM (Build 5 - Android 4.3), but since I don't have 10 posts yet, I cannot post under the respective thread.
Bugs/Issues/Suggestions:
As some have noted, the video camera does not work. (Not a big deal because I don't use it anyway)
Amazon App Store does not stay signed in. I have tried clearing the data, and completely reinstalling the App Store with no avail.
SMS Popup's customized LED notifications do not work properly. (I have certain LED colors for certain contacts, which is apparently broken in Android 4.3)
Android OS along with Google Services are both draining the battery, even after rebooting the phone.
Bring the 'Advanced' menu back! It was very helpful to be able to tweak the vibration strength (which is very weak by the way), along with audio volumes, mDNIe modes, and being able to disable the backlit touch keys.
Besides the few things noted above the ROM seems rock solid. I have used the Eclipse ROM for a few months now and enjoy it. Thanks for the great work!

Im using a custom build of AOKP 4.3, so I cant relate to a lot, but for the advanced menu, I use devil kernel w/ devil tweaks that has the amplifier and vibration settings. works great. So for the devil kernel, is that the one found here? If so, is there anyway to get JUST the kernel? Or do I have to get the recovery and dual boot as well?
Disregard the last post, as I have reverted back to Build 3. (Android 4.2) However, I do have a question in regards to the messaging app that you're using. How exactly did you load that from another ROM?
For example, if possible, I'd like to take the SMS/MMS app found in the Build 5 of the Eclipse ROM and port it over to the one I currently have. Would that even work since it is an Android 4.3 app instead of a 4.2? I just want it because it has a couple more options (more developed) than the one I currently have. And if I can do that, how would I go about doing that?
Thanks again for the help, and sorry if that is a noob question.

Okay thanks. Is there a particular way of replacing it? i.e., zip and flash? Or can I replace it with root explorer?
I use es file manager, but root explorer would work. Make sure you change permissions to match the rest of the system apks and then reboot

Okay thanks again, and how do I change the permissions? I'm thinking thats what may have caused the issues before when I tried to port it over to my ROM. Every time I opened it, it would force close on me.
Edit: I have found threads on here on how to perform this task. (With Clockwork Mod Recovery) But thanks again, I am flashing the new MMS.apk now.
