Hey everyone well today i was wondering that if i installed the jauggernaut rom and when samsung gets the ICS update will i be able to update with the rom? Or will i have to flash back to stock?

Wrong forum me thinks but to answer your question you won't be able to get kies or ota updates with a custom rom, you will have to flash back to stock.

I recently upgraded to Ics via kies on the there network.
Even though I am impressed I would like to go back to GB.
Is this possible to do using kies
Thanks
Kieron

Hmm don't think so...
Never miss mind something about downgrade via Kies...
So only way is using Odin and flash a gb-stock-firmware...
Or u flash a kernel from here, wipe all, then flash a Rom...
CHEERS ;-)

No you cant downgrade by Kies. Use a custom rom or manually downgrade.
How do i manually downgrade ? .

Check for Odin tut here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
And choose a gb firmware...

No way via kies, learn Odin as sahibunlimited said and flash it, it won't take more than half hour to learn Odin and flash

Hey you are from x10 section
Remember me?
I didn't read your name when i was on mobile
Yeah i remember you mate. You was on the face book page alot aswell if i am not wrong . was on x10 section for quite a while now loving my s2 but everything seemed straight forward on the x10 where as here there seems to be so many different variables to have to check before flashing anything .

I m on ICS custom FW now.. If i want to flash MIUI GB i hav simply flash it using CWM.. BUT the CWM s ICS type.. does it hav any side effects? Bcoz only 10 out 100 would go back to GB after tasting ICS
Is there a way for me to install leaked ICS on my non rooted at&t note, then if I don't like it, go back to gingerbread without rooting or problems?? Thanks for any help! I can't take not having ICS anymore!

The leaks both have odin built in and don't require that you be rooted to use. Just download double click and enjoy.
There's a new more complete leak coming soon.

I understand that I don't need to be rooted. My question is...IF I would like to go back to Gingerbread from a leak without rooting, could I? That way I could get the OTA?

Wait for the new leak above. You can flash it with odin via your pc. If you don't like it (you will) you can flash back to stock also via odin. Its 100% easier just to root though. When the OTA comes out it will posted here in a matter of minutes for everyone to flash and enjoy.

Without root access you can't back up your apps and your phone.
But you can always flash the stock gingerbread with odin and raise your flash counter.
Thanks for all the advice! I have never used Odin before. I'm used to just dropping a ROM on the card and flashing or just plugging into my computer for something I downloaded. This is my first Samsung Galaxy device. Anything I should know before hand? My previous device was a Droid X.

You mean if the OTA released by AT&T.. I need to flash that with ODIN again?
If I go back to stock Gingerbread via ODIN.. then I can update OTA not necessarily using ODIN again.. right?
sorry for my dumb question..

Right. If you odin back to stock gingerbread you can wait for the OTA update. Whenever that may come. OR you can flash the update via odin when it comes out. Whenever it comes out officially you can use the method of your choice.

This is an extremely noob question probably but I need to ask. Could somebody please explain to me how to Odin to ICS and how to get back to Gingerbread using Odin? Sorry for the dumb question but again I need to know before I do this. Never used it before.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330
I recommened you root, its easy
then you can simply flash ICS. if no likee, use your backup from Nandroid, which will save all your files , texts, programs, call logs, etc(when you odin to stock you'll have a brand new like rom,no data)
Im currently stock/rooted on official ics and id like to know which roms are compatible with official ics, are all of them?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
That doesn't make sense...a Rom would replace the stock Rom, so compatibility isn't an issue....if you mean can you flash a new Rom from that one, then yes.

Guess it was a dumb question. I just thought that since we had a leaked version of ics and an official version that there might be issues flashing say a rom from 2 months ago while running official ics. So there is no difference between the leak and official so i can flash whatever rom i want.

Flash up or down. It does not matter.
Hai, my SGS2 now on x-treme jb aokp 1.1 but i want to go back stock ics 4.0.4. Is there any suggestion for me or i just use odin & flash stock firmware?
I'm not very clear in this matter.
Please help me out.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
You just need to flash stock rom through odin.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
You'll just flash an ICS firmware
It doesn't really matter what customROM / firmware you came from, you can just directly flash it. go to download mode and flash an awesome fw hope this helps

Rather than making a new thread, I hope you don't mind me asking a question in relation to your initial question.
Is it okay that I install an ICS 4.0.3 as opposed to installing a 4.0.4 one? I wish to avoid the eMMC bug that I dismissed by installing a different kernel, I would rather avoid 4.0.4 until there's an official fix. If so,
Download 4.0.3 stock ROM
Flash using Odin
Back to stock ROM, kernel and in root?

T mobile version. When I go to settings, software update: I get no firmware. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Read .... Read and read then flash 4.1.2 with odin
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Does this mean that there is no OTA path? And is that because the version is so far behind current?
Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
Well you should've had an OTA flash request, no doubt of that.
But yeah, since it has been so long i would also recommend flashing a Stock Official Samsung ROM with version 4.1.2 aka Jelly Bean via ODin.
T-Mobile version as in....?
