Hello. I've downloaded setCPU today, and I wanted to overclock my CPU from 600 to 800MHz. But when i start up the setCPU it shows 600MHz as the max. freq, and I saw my friend overclocing his ZTE Blade to 1GB. My phone has the same CPU, and of course it's ROOTed. Please help!

Depends on the rom your using. Not ALL rom's support OC, or should I say kernel's.
Btw legends will NEVER OC to 1ghz, best you can expect is about 800mhz or so.

Yep, can confirm that. My Device already crashes with about 768Mhz. The only ROM where overclocking worked for me was B 0.8.4.

NewSense RC4b has overclocking build in. (19,2 - 768Mhz) You don't even need an app. CyanogenMOD also has this build in: Settings -> Cyanogenmod settings -> Performance

I know. But if i use these settings my device keeps rebooting until ich set CPU to 600Mhz. As i said, only Blayo's Rom worked with overclocking.
Overclocking is set in kernel i think. So switch kernel and try again.
I have your answer! Your rom is stock so the kernel was set to 600 mhz max. freq. Just install a rom which supports OC.

I think that the default on a stock ROM underclocks to 352 automatically when screen is off.
Using overclock widget in the settings you can get it so that when the screen is off you can underclock it to your own min/max freq's
I think the default min is something like 245 MHz.

Yeah, I could quite possibly be wrong.
I think stock underclock is 352, since some handsets crash at 245
But I may be wrong...

I conclution Hero can scale CPU Speed by itself?
So, I interesting CPU adjust application.
what is best choise between SetCPU or overclock widget ?
How to overclock CPU speed?
The only way to overclock is to root your phone... you may find this useful, for me worked like a charm..
http://rootmydroid.co.uk/
I'm already root it but I didn't use costom rom.It possible to overclock?
I think so... Have you try to install set cpu? If you have superuser permission you
won't have any problems to overclock..

I already root+installed SetCPU. But the maximum CPU is only 528 MHz.
Can(+How) to set cpu speed more than 528MHz.
thank you
If your running a stock ROM then you will need to flash a different kernel to Overclock. Stock kernels don't have the higher freq's in there tables to overclock. Try a Nindroid one (or flash a custom ROM).
..............I would cancel this idea.
Because I think I have inadequate knowledge, may cause phone's damage.
I had a little knowledge about android+linux, may cause phone's damage.
I must learn more than before flash kernal.
Thanks for all the answers.

I used to try "SetCPU" App, but it's useless (maximum cpu at 600 MHz.)
It's available for the optimus s but until the kernel source is released for the t and the one overclocking won't be possible.

Any news?
try going to androidcentral and then forums for LG optimus T(this the counterpart of our P500). c",?
Good news guys...
Hey theres a good news for all LG p500 users that u can overclock ur CPU up to 787 MHz.
For doing it u need a flashed device with rom running CM7 beta 6.2 which u can have here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
After flashing u will see an option for cpu configurations in settings where u can set ur cpu according to ur need but be aware u can set ur cpu upto 806Mhz but there the device crashes so please DONT select the option "set on boot" which will help u to escape from tough situations....
Which will restore u default frequencies.
Hope this helps you...
Happy flashing.!!!
Im using CM7and i ve overclocked my cell phone to 806MHz.............
and the benchmarks pumped to 1239.....
Good news...
Guys I flshed a new kernel to my phone....it was for the touchscreen lag fix... but it also made me possible to overclock my phone. setcpu couldnt reach beyond 600 mhz. now it reaches upto 864Mhz. though the device crashes on that....u can select lower frequencies below 806 to not get crashed... If anyone need the kernel file let me know and I'll upload it... I have optimus one Indian version... Happy overclocking.

Hey guys why the hell you aren't able to go beyond 800 MHz My Optimus one runs constantly on 806 with no crash...Can also run on 825 MHz but crashes after some long hours... Use SetCPU guys... this phone has much potential than 729 MHz
post your highest frequencies.... and if they are stable...
here goes my answer:
768mhz using miks rom 6.5.3.. totally stable..
806Mhz using franco kernels I would like to try higher, the optimus gt540 uses the same processor and overclocks much better, right upto 900mhz for some people
768... If I go higher I get kernel panics...

3600 mhz on my pc xd
I suppose over clocking to 135% of its rating sounds a bit much but if the gt540 can run the same cpu at 150% I dont think I could hit 806mhz before I went with the franco kernel. Such as with megatron.
The nook color is fitted with a 800mhz cpu and the over clock that can be achived on those now seems ridiculous. 1300mhz is 162% but some can reach 1600Mhz 200% check it out on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCGTvxefPSc.
(I thought I'd use % to make things more comparable)
I'll be checking back for the P500 at 1.2ghz

Hi, i have just flashed the new HyperDroid v5.2.21 (Full wipe) and i wanted to know if i can overclock my SGS2 from 1.2ghz to 1.5ghz, if so how do i go about it?
Do i need to change the current kernel (XWL1)?
P.S ive heard its stable, but does it drain the battery?
Thanks XDA Community
Hello there. Yep you can overclock but you need a kernel that supports it. SiyahKernel is a good choice. With that, use the Voltage Control app from the market.
However I know nothing about battery draining or stability... dualcore 1.2GHz mobile processor is more than enough for me, and the phone can get pretty hot under maximum load, same with the MALI GPU which can be overclocked to 400MHz (but since it has 4 cores and the phone has no active heatsinks it could get risky...)

Yes you can overclock and you can stick with the kernel that comes with Hyperdroid. I am currently Overclocking 1.6ghz max and 200 min. Not touching voltages though. Use No-Frills app to set it up. My advice though to you no point in overclocking as 1.2ghz is good enough as it is..And the kernel you are on is good enough...It is stable depending what voltage frequencies you use..I say leave it as they are. And like i said download No-Frills from the market..Set your clock speeds and that should be it..Choose a governor and off you go

No-Frills ? AndroidMeda Developers recommend Voltage Control (and I personally like it much more than No-Frills, too) with their kernel.
+ Here is a small guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036020 how to test your OC Settings, I use it when I am testing new voltages.
Thanks for the replies i will try out the no-frills app and see what happens. What would you say is the best governor to use? and wouldnt you recommend going over 200min?

Pongster uses No-Frills. The rest of the team uses Voltage Control. And to avoid any freezes or random reboots leave the voltage settings as they are till you get to grips with the overclocking. Hence why i suggested No-Frills as currently Voltage Control for me kept on reverting back to stock frequencies..And yes there is a way round it but it is to much of an effort

I am currently using ondemand and Sio as scheduler. You can not go wrong with that. Like i said..choose a governor choose a scheduler and let them do the work...I also do recommend Voltage control but No-frills is simple and does the job for you. And no i would recommend either go to 100min or stick with 200...I am currently on 1.6max and 200 min

seriously? why do you need to overclock! the galaxy s3 isn't a PC with a water cooling system!!!!!!!!! if you want to overclock, go to the stweaks app and scroll down on the first page. you will find a few sliders for the cpu clock speed. i recommend a MAX of 1.5ghz And tp be safe, slap on a undervolt of 25 or 50 ( just above the sliders) you get the idea.
