I have LauncherPro and I know that I can change the app drawer with this homescreen replacement app. But what I'm wanting to know is which app drawers you guys would recommended? I want it to be customizable so I can group apps. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated

I believe Alt Drawer will let you do this.
I ran across that earlier ill give it a test. Thank you for your input

An interesting feature would be the ability to group apps into folder like eyelauncher does
Didn't the dev of Alt Drawer discontinue development a long time ago. I believe he open sourced the app and someone else picked up the project. I think it's in the play store under AppDrawer or something like that.
Apex launcher allows app drawer groups and is a very nice launcher in general.

question in title
i know launcher pro does this but when you open up an app (like handscent sms) it shows up again.
is there any app or anything to remove the notification bar universally?
I use the zeam launcher. That has an option that almost always hides it. Hope that helps.

im prettyed used to launcherpro and would prefer to stick with it
I dont know of a way to do it in apps, but if you want it gone on your lockscreen as well, I use Widget Locker to accomplish this as well as place a bunch of widgets Im always using right on my lockscreen

damn, i guess our phones just aren't meant to not have the not. bar.
only reason i'd like to have it gone is so I can further depend on widgets, just for the hell of it.
zeam launcher does it for me all the time once i hide it its gone in any app i open
Hey guys. I'm looking for a launcher that allows you to use it completly full screen without a dck. Ive tried launcher pro and go launcher so far I haven't seen an option in any of them to remove dock so hoping one of you can help me.

What he said. I'm using a combination of ADW Launcher EX and CircleLauncher
Your main screen will look like this:
The icons you see on the top left and bottom right are CircleLauncher. When i tap them they open up the predefined app selection of my choosing. You have the choice of a circle, horizontal or vertical style.
Another neat thing on the ADW Launcher EX is that you can use the swipe up and down gesture to preform actions. For example swipe down opens my Notifications Bar and swipe up opens my Apps Drawer.
Hope you find what you need.
Here's mine ADW

I like Adw. It's simple clean and fast. Not sure if I will upgrade to the paid version since a lot of reviews are have force close issues. Are you getting any?

Personally i have never had a force close on my 3D. On my 4G I did have a couple force closes but it didn't bother me as much. Try out the free version for a couple days to get the feel of it. If you feel generous afterwards you can "donate" to the owner instead of "buying" it, that's how I looked at it. Good luck!

The same thing can be accomplished with Launcher Pro as well.
+1 for ADW. I hide the notification bar and get rid of the launcher. Here is a link to my setup. I've made some changes lately but you can get the general idea. Swipe down opens the notifications and swipe up opens the app drawer...

Any of you tried wave launcher? I love that... Another great option if you ditch the dock. And you can use it from anywhere from any app
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Yeah, ADW does exactly what you're looking for, here's another image to add to the pile on this thread =p
What my home screen looks like (click for full size):
You can also set an optional 'hidden' dock that comes up on a specified gesture (for example, if I flick upwards I get my appdrawer, phone and ADW settings).
Tried wave launcher. Wasn't feeling it. Settled on circle launcher. Advanced settings go for deep customization.
With auncher pro i could never find out how to hide dock. Anyways to much work if they can't just add a simple setting to hide it. Shame cause I want it for the gmail widget plus glass sense glass theme.
Only bad think about Adw is the app drawer lags when opening and really bad scrolling. Not much of an issue once I have my screens setup. Never need to use it.

I've been using pure breeze launcher and have been loving it.
The biggest part I like is the kite. Almost any program I'm in I can bring it up and have my most used widgets and shortcuts available. And all I have to do is hit the back button and I'm back where I was.
I especially use it with the xda app. Sometimes during writing a post and I'm not sure about specific directions, I bring up the kite, open the internet, double check info or even download a pic of what I'm talking about, then hit the back arrow and my half written post is still there. I can continue on like I never left.

Sounds like Wave launcher. I mean "kite" functionality. The best part about Wave is that you can use it with any other launcher as a "add-on". Last week was free as Gold app on GetJar. I checked and it's still free. Give it a try.

Wave launcher is awesome! I really think google needs to buy them and put wave launcher in as stock android.
But with the kite it allows you to bring up the app list where you have all your apps. And all you have to do is hit the back button.
It let's you use your launcher app, as an app, when you switch between apps.
Imagine pressing your home button now and being able to check out you home screen, open your app drawer and run a program. And you can press back to get to the previous app you were in before you pressed the home button. Pressing the home button doesn't mean closing out (in a sense) what you were doing.

Maybe you didn't know but with Wave you have ability to bring all your apps to any screen. In Wave settings change Long-press functionality to App Drawer. I set time duration to 1 sec.
But I don't use App Drawer much because I use Gesture Search app with Wave so in 2 sec I could launch any app, game, contact etc. from anywhere.

Can people compare and contrast some of these against touch wiz? Do all widgets work with each?
Can you also comment on how smooth they are and known issues? I'm new to touchwiz coming from sense which I actually liked a lot.
Also if I set one as default how can I undo it later?
ADW Launcher all the way, I've messed with a lot of them and it seemes to be the most bulletproof for me anyways.

As an android noob a few years ago, Launcher Pro was great. Then I moved on to Go Launcher and really liked it. After reading this thread and trying some of these others, I've really taken to Regina Launcher. It has many of the functions that I like (3d animations). But to be honest, we are really lucky to have all of the choices that we have at our disposal. The best part about it is that your homescreens and settings are saved with each launcher. So if you find one you like and set it up to your preferences, you can still swap between launchers and your settings are saved with each. So when I revert from Regina back to Go, it is still the same way that I left it.
I'm a big fan of the Sony Xperia Arc launcher with corners.

I use go launcher, specific features I like:
gesture to hide/show status bar
multiple docks i can scroll in loop
resize widgets
nice ICS themes
task manager built in
much more!
My wish is that someone would make a Screen Lock App and maybe some has, if not I think this a great idea, of course.
1. It must show any missed income calls, messages and emails.
2. Time and weather.
3. Circle when long pressed to swipe outside of circle to open.
4. Customizable App selection; the ability to add a few apps around the circle to choose from, but if not chosen swipe outside of the circle to opens.
5. Select a random picture everytime you turn on your phone from a directory of your choice.

Yes, WidgetLocker is great. It allows to add homescreen widgets on it. Plus, it has many themes to launch apps (ICS, Sense, iPhone).
I'd like to add more: Install "Tesla Unread" to get missed call, SMS and Gmail counts.
Yeah, Widget Locker pretty much does all of that minus Live Picture wallpaper.

You'll have to install Go Launcher EX to use it. Just to tweak lock screen usability, changing home launcher is an overkill..
I'm gonna suggest, as others here have, Widget Locker. I've always been running widget locker since I first had an android phone and have never used anything else because it does the job perfectly. Obviously, it's best feature is the customization available for it. Every few days I'm changing the layout of my lockscreen, just so it's something new

Have been using Ollo for some time and really like the 5 horizontal icons on home screen and app drawer. Now want to try an alternative rom but would like this feature. I know I can use TW UX for the app drawer but what about the home screen?
Tried asking on the Ollo forum but guess the Dev didn't want to share how he did it, which is fair enough.
Could it be dpi related?
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
changing dpi might work yes.
in nova launcher you can choose the ammount of rows and kolomns of your homescreens and dock. But not for app drawer, but changing dpi of the launcher might work
Thanks for the input I should have also said I would prefer to stay with TW
