WiFi on and no sync, only thing not accounted to actual use under Awake was still streaming content.
WiFi and sync on, through the night. Only specks of awake time are I guess my email checks. (Spent awake at 100 MHZ I would think, but it's hard to track the few seconds (if that) the sync takes).

umm... I don't understand what your getting at. Plz elaborate

I think they're saying that it's possible for the only "awake" time for the tablet is when the screen is on... So I'm pretty sure that includes not syncing anything (possibly airplane mode?) and also no apps misbehaving/keeping the tablet awake...
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using Tapatalk
Can you do me a favor and post any running processes that you have in the bakground? Is this a fresh factory wipe? Did you do anything special to ensure it's the same?
Also, does the same thing happen if WIFI is on the whole time?

I will as soon as I'm at the house again.
This is all my apps installed and keeping WiFi off, update .11. I just posted it because I used to have more awake time than screen time even with WiFi off.
With WiFi on you'll always get more awake time than screen time, but even so you can keep it minimal just by keeping your sync times large.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
how do you let the device actually sleep?
I've had this too. Download the app better battery stats (the full version is free if you d/l from xda). Use that app to find which processes are applications are putting on a wakelock (in the app, go to partial wakelocks - anything more than 1% is your issue) keeping your tablet from sleeping, and you just solved your problem!

Best scenario for best battery life is awake time being less screen on time.

I don't see that as possible, anytime the screen is on its awake, and even some when it's off if you sync anything in background. I always leave my wifi on and have phenomenal battery life still..

Agreed, I don't think that's possible.
Above is the best I've gotten. Tried WiFi without sync and of course came out the same when I wasn't causing wakelocks. Doing WiFi with sync now just to see how good it'll still be.
This isn't important or anything, I was just so ecstatic a configuration with all my apps installed decided to start acting right

On average I lose 1% battery a hour with screen off. In good wifi/cell reception that is.
What do you folks do?
advance task manager works great, set it up to kill all apps at screen lock
1% an hour sounds about right. I'm not sure you're going to get much better than that. You could check out the battery drainers thread for info on finding wakelocks.

seem to help mine....
Its been discussed a number of times in various battery related threads. The issue is that you end up killing a lot of tasks the phone needs, so it has to restart them all the time, which is less efficient than leaving them running. If you have a rogue app draining your battery becuase it isn't shutting down there are better ways to deal with it.
Is this 1% an hour drain with the radio on or off? Ill have to check what mine gets with it on, but when i turn my radio off i get 1% drain every 4 or 5 hours

What are yours?
AdFree Android: AdFree removes most ads in the browser and other apps. It does this by nullifying requests to known host names in the system hosts file. You won't have adds in free apps anymore thanks to this.
Battery Calibration: A must have if you install custom ROMs.
Chrome to Phone: Send a link from Google Chrome on your PC to your phone in one clock. If like me you are a heavy forum user this can be very very handy.
exDialer: Alternative dialer and contact list. Easy/Fast/Skinnable.
MiLocker: Free customisable lockscreen. I can't stand the default one!
Photoshop Express: Easy and very fast methode to edit a picture. I love giving more color to fade pics.
SD Maiden - System Cleaning Tool: A maid for your android, to regain precious memory and keep it clean & tidy. A must have!!
Simple Last.fm Scrobbler: A lightweight scrobbler that submits information to Last.fm on what music you play on your android phone. Don't need for the official app. This one is small and use almost no resources.
T.E.A.M. Battery Bar: Place a battery bar on top of your statusbar or on the bottom of your screen. With this you can now see your battery even in fullscreen apps/games.
WhatsApp: The reason to buy a smartphone!
WifiKill: Easy way to kill internet acces to other devices via Wifi.
Twitter

Samba filesharing (access sdcard over WiFi)

Looking for a sports calendar that in can see when all my teams have games and just a general sports score app..
Something that is mad for the tablet
I have been using the ESPN Scorecenter app and it is not optimized for tablets yet. Guess I need to start downloading and testing to see if there is something better.

"Are you watching this" is awesome. The game grid shows all games that are playing for the day and the broadcast channel. All of the sports you select to follow are shown mixed together listed in order of game time. You can also input your cable provider and only show games that you can view in addition to controlling your connected TV via wifi. (Google TV, direct TV, dish TV). Also has the usual alerts, favorite teams, news, auto-follow etc. and is optimized for tablets. I think this is what your looking for.

a similar app that i used all nfl season was "sport live stream" has an LS on the icon. at any time it gives you all the possible live sports and where to stream it live via flash.

footmob is a great app for soccer.
it allows the app to run horizontally (great since my prime is mostly docked) and shows whom scored and assisted
BETBUD is the absolute best app around if you bet on sports as well. gives you live lines for every game and you can enter picks. it then shows all your pending picks and gives you live score updates with color codes if you are winning or losing. there is a widget for this also. also keeps stats. if you gamble this app is truly amazing.

I would suggest you to download the Eurosport app. It can give you live updates and current statistics of your favorite sport.
Just a little heads up on this app that is pretty cool and look how a app for tablets should. . Apps that looks similar to this is what we need for or tablets. Is still in beta so can be some buggs.

I have a question...
I was looking at the story about "Total Recall" and there was what appeared to be an embedded video (screenshot with a "play" icon superimposed overtop).
When I clicked on the link though, rather than playing it embedded, I got a pop-up requester asking me what app I wanted to use to complete the action (gave me choices of broswers, youtube etc...)
My question is, does it play embedded for anyone else? If so, what do I do to get it to play videos embedded rather than spawning a new app to play it?
Thanks.

it wont play embedded through that app itself. a good option is to get Stickit app. its a floating & resizable media player like overskreen browser. Add by the same people. so then when you click video, just choose the stickit option and a little box will play the video that you can resize. plus you never leave that article page also. when done watching the video just X it out or terminate it.
Fantastic looking app. I agree, we need more apps that take aesthetics into account and use our tablets to their full potential!
I can't get this app to work correctly. Every time I open an article, it shows up with white background and white text making it essentially unreadable. Does anyone else have this problem?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared its cache and data, restarted my TF201...

While reading app reviews someone mentioned to turn off "Force GPU Rendering" which fixed the problem I mentioned.
I'd rather not turn that off though

Well you have quite the pickle now dont' you??
Really, talk about a fantastic app! Smooth, beautiful, and actually makes use of our screen real-estate
*EDIT:
Simple, I really like it. Wish they'd link to the content they talk about though.
It has a small issue with mHDMI-out, but the actual articles get viewed just fine:

LOL yeah well, I've turned off GPU rendering; now nVision works and I don't notice anything different about my tablet soooo I guess I didn't really need it
Awesome app to have to show off the ATP's beautiful screen.
Who loves that awesome back ground? I DO!!! Live wallpaper of that would be sick.
For those who haven't noticed the update yet, the app was recently updated so that the white text/invisible text issue that occurred when you had Force 2D GPU Rendering on has been fixed.
If you like to use this app but prefer to keep that option enabled you can now do both.
Lol, suppose I'm looking forward to another update. On this version, the video clip for the white background with black bubbles kind of force closes. Get a pop-up message about the video not being able to be played; app continues to work fine though.
