Any Bluetooth 4.0 headsets???? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Since this lovely device supports Bluetooth 4.0 I was wondering if there were any headsets, hell anything else really, that we can use to take advantage of it. Thanks for looking and any possible answers.

I am gonna get this one when its available...

i don't like.....4.0

I use motorola elite flip. Its 3.0 but the fact it has nfc is good for futures use. If rumor is true about nfc chip in Razr. You could go up to 300 feet with the NFC pairing.

Infrared?

I was reading the specs on the Razr, and it says that there is infrared on it?
Are there any remote control apps that let you use it as a tv remote with the infrared port?
Where did you read that?
I'm pretty sure there is no infrared on the RAZR, unfortunately.
I've read a few articles that state that it does. most of the articles are pre release articles which aren't usually accurate anyways. I haven't found it on mine wish it did though.

Which phone has IR nowdays?
The galaxy note comes with infrared.

And the S4
as far as i know razr xt910/xt912 doesn't have infra red...

NFC

I just found out that the devices which have blue tooth version 4.0 already are capable of doing nfc
They come with nfc enabled so, the motorola RAZR has the nfc feature. It has the hardware for it but it doesn't have the software for it currently so I was thinking if someone could help get that software which is required for nfc!!

The Droid Razr doesn't have an NFC Chip.
Bluetooth 3.0 and 4.0 devices can talk to nfc devices. Whether we'll be able to use Bluetooth devices like the razr AS nfc devices is another matter. We would need software such as Android beam to support this I imagine.

i would of thought that if this phone was capable. Motorola in all their might would of advertised it surely.
Anyhow. NFC is not coming to lincolnshire any time soon! lol

agreed, some of the shops here still use dial up for their chip and pin machines!
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
Indeed!!! Haha and many places still dont even use chip and pin.
They use something called "cash"

I believe that to use NFC (although I'm not sure if it is in there or not) you need a special antenna. Generally, it's attached to the battery. Since our battery isn't removable, that makes it kind of difficult.
It is kind of like that. On the back of my nexus s is 2 connectors which then come in contact with some kind of pad on the battery cover.

Does Razr have FM radio support

Hello,
Was anyone able to hear radio on a Razr without data connection.
This is the only factor that will make me change my mind for buying the Razr...
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
re
i know that xda has search support.
it has the hardware, but has not been enabled in software by motorola and no workaround has been found
Does the forum have a search function?
Have you ever searched through a tablet? I did a search and couldnt find exactly what i was looking

Theres only one option to test FM Radio under Razr forum. Nobody could put it to work since motorola didn't delivered a FM radio driver.
But you can test your own. Just get anycut app in G Play and start a new activity > FM player.
You'll see the Built in fm app but it doesn't work.
Searching in a tablet really doesn't give you workable results. Try a PC instead.
Cheers

I am pretty sure there is hardware for it because there is radio FM in the bionic and the same hardware is under RAZR to, for the radio. But as you said there is no drivers but if I remember kholk said he will look in to this after the 3.0.8 source is released
Cool thanks guys.
I am on a 10 day trip without a pc, and i am doing a search on what mobile to purchase, so sorry if i took some of everybody's time.
I was almost sure that i did my final choice with Razr, but then i remembered that i didnt check the radio option! :-(
Now i have to consider my other options again GNote, HTC XE, SONY S

Man. If the only problem is the radio then forget about it, but if u care a long lasting battery n amazin signal then go razr. If you're in USA get a maxx.
This is the better build hardware till today and ICS is coming to improve usability experience. The moto system also is the less bug'ed from all smatphones. I would get one for an easy tripp.
Edit
Btw. Remember you can fill it with mp3
Btw2 (lol) and all good radios are over the web
Cheers

Yes i know thanks
I have a Moto Milestone which doesnt have radio, and so many times i get frustrated because i want to hear radio while walking or at the stadium.
And i just dont want to regret it... unfortunately i dont have data unlimited plan.
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
My old Droid X has a working FM radio. I take that when I want to have a radio along with other things like MP3s on a bike ride, hike, etc. It would be much better to only carry one device. If this is possible to unlock, I'd be all over it.

I live in the US and bought the Bionic which has the FM radio but never really used it. Now I have a Razr Maxx with no FM radio enabled but the Tunein radio app on the market is awesome you get a stream of your local radio station's (if under contract with Tunein) they are constantly adding new stations and refining an already awesome app. I purchased the pro version and don't regret it.

TuneIn is absolutely fantastic. I can't remember the last time I used an actual radio because of it.
But I can definitely see where actual radio capabilities might be a nice feature if someone doesn't have unlimited data, like the OP, or if you're doing some international travel and can't or don't want to use data.
Yes correct, i dont understand why companies would want not to have a radio on a mobile, something that was a must on old mobiles and something that still a lot of users need....

Google should take the gloves off and merge Android into Motorola Mobility...see this

I am not the only one who thinks that Google should merge android into moto...

You do understand that if android goes that way you can kiss your custom ROMs goodbye. Not only that but also your options for android devices would shrink because the open handset alliance would quickly fall apart. Why not just buy an apple if you want a closed off system? These thoughts show exactly how you do not understand what open source is and why Google is doing what its doing.

Faster updates and all. We can then all have a uniform android experience and not this hap hazard one we now have. Just to turn on wifi is different in sense and touchwiz.... they should compete on quality and look of the phone and not software as the hardware and software should all be the same. And i would never buy a iphone no widgets.

Why does this have to be so either/or? Samsung has no intention of suckling from the android teet forever--samba/tizen? Its open now, but won't stay open forever---look at how reluctant they are to release their hardware libraries... hundreds of thousands of people 'superbricked' their (insert qualifying samsung device here)--and though a simple fix would have been to release their emmc firmware to the xda community, and we'd all have functioning (instead of limping) quality samsung mobile warez....i', calling events like the MMC_CAP_ERASE bug instancas of 'planned hyper-obsolescense'... i fell to it too: gTab 7.7? Superbricked and in a coma on my shelf--- why wouod i buy a new one when the gNote 10.1 just came out.
Motorola could set the bar so high, that tthey force companies to stop doing that, or force them onto their own ecosystems. Motorola has liscenced the AMOLED patent from samsung, so we could see a motorola droid or nexus tablet sporting the same features as the Note 10.1 but with Amoled--and hd--and a kevlar back...
I personally am excited about ubuntu mobile and boot to gecko.
Motorola should be Android's greatest champion, but there's no reason why google would ever close-source android just to make motorola its flagship manufacturer. I think we're going to see an incredible rest of the decade---as long as isreal doesnt get nuked---then all bets are off.

Apparently Mozilla is working on their own smartphone OS - aptly named - Firefox OS, which they claim to be an attempt at a truly open mobile OS. I personally haven't heard much about Ubuntu mobile, but I'd be willing to move over to any other Linux based OS. Fragmentation is an issue, but that's just a side-effect of having an open operating system. Personally I think Android is managing this issue well -- but then again I'm only speaking from the perspective of a RAZR owner.
Fragmentation is not an ssue with open source deployment, its a problem because OEMs are so corporate, so profit/competition-driven, that they cant even fathom a gnu-gpl development scenario---"wait, R&D investment you cant monetize???" Its just beyond them.

Haha you gotta be kidding. Google loves to make money and by doing what your saying they would lose a lot of money. Just accept the fact that you can't have the latest os without buying a new phone. Even iOS is like that every new revision has new features that work on the latest iPhone and not or only partially work on previous I phones.

There are phones that have jb on them? Just because our phone doesn't have it officially doesn't mean it isn't out. why does it even matter if we have the latest OS that isn't even very different on an old phone. It's not like we are stuck on GB.

It matters to me BIG time. Never show weakness by having an outdated os. People on the latest os will glare and snicker at those who dont. Its a dog eat dog world. Its like my razr ics is a pcjr without it. I think we need support groups and we should sue Google and the carriers over updates.

[Q] How come Droid DNA JB hasn't been ported to EVOLTE?

I'm still curious as to why the Droid DNA Jelly Bean ROM has not been ported to the LTE? Any reason? I'm no Dev, so I don't know the first thing about porting, but I figured this would be a relatively easy task?
Evo lte has a dual core processor.....DNA has a quad core processor......i dont think
Its gonna be anywhere near an easy task

Droid DNA has different soc(qualcom s4 pro) and radios
It cannot be ported easily due to lack of drivers.
It's like installing an nvidia driver to an AMD video card. They incompatible that's why its hard to make it work

I think it has the same board and chip.
If anything it would be the camera sound that would hold it up

Makes sense. I played with the Phone at BJ's and it's so nice. Really beautiful screen and so smooth.
