What he means is this: It probably isn't possible.
I believe it is possible, and a couple of people have attempted half heartedly to do it, but unless someone who has the knowledge to do this right is to pick this up and run with it, it won't happen. I doubt you would see this on the Atrix now in any event, as there are not enought devs to go around, and the devs we have are working on ROM's and kernels.
Sorry, i couldnt find anything either, but It would be pretty awesome to have DualBoot on my Atrix.

It would be cool
Well tbere's always the next device mayb it will be able to
There is a post for making boot manager work on the ATRIX I am currently using it but you have to install zip in cwm to boot rom1 and recover boot thro advanced restore for your main ROM
Hit thanks if this was helpful

Well, what about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508017
It's in the Xperia's development forum, yeah, but the Atrix 4G is definitely a GSM phone, so I don't see why this kernel wouldn't work. Of course, I don't know anything about the technical stuff behind it--could we get a second opinion on this?
I really want to be able to have the Neutrino ROM on my phone along with a Blur-based ROM so I can use my Webtop.

I don't know if it can help,
but Multi-Boot ROMS worked on Motorola Defy,
I guess it's possible for atrix too, perhaps some dev take a good look here at this LINK

The only problem with that is that the Defy has completely different hardware.

I came from the Inspire 4G to the Atrix. The Inspire 4G was my first Android phone and I just loved the rooting and custom ROMS.
I switch to the Atrix because of the FFC, Dual-Core, and 1080p camera. I thought about it and was wondering if it ever will be possible to crack the bootloader. I know there are efforts going on right now to do so and I really appreciate all the developers trying to get the bootloader cracked.
My question is, will the Atrix's bootloader ever be cracked?
I want to know so I can stay with the Atrix and be prepared for the future (Gingerbread and maybe even Honeycomb) or if I want custom ROMs just stay with the Inspire 4G?
Thanks and I hope someone knows what I mean.

I think there was another thread somewhere here where someone had a thread on the Motorola forums, with a Motorola rep saying that it's not a definite, but thoughts of un-signing the bootloader are going around. I guess it didn't phase them how important that might be to some people or something.

Hey all,
I've just got my Atrix here in Australia and im looking at potential ROMS, for obvious reasons. Coming from a Nexus One/Nexus S im used to Cyanogen.
I found this article which indicates its possible to load CM 7.1 with Android 2.3.4 - http://mobile.downloadatoz.com/tuto...d-2-3-4-gingerbread-to-motorola-atrix-4g.html
I've searched the official site, the forum here, the first ROM Sticky and Google, but have yet to find anywhere which states that the Motorola Atrix is clearly supported by Cyanogen, nor can I find a walkthrough guide, other than the above (which looks a bit dodgy)
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers from Down Under.

Atrix isn't supported by Cyanogen, and I believe it's currently impossible to put a full-fledged ROM on the Atrix.
If only it was that easy though :/
The bootloader is locked on the atrix so no real roms. We are stuck with theming.

I take it you've never used the stock android recovery on the atrix? It says use the D-PAD in the on screen prompts. It means the volume rocker or use the touch screen.
Motorola Milestone have a locked bootloader and have CM7.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941346
until the bootloader can be unlocked or bypassed don't hold your breath on any roms showing up here. Not saying its impossible. just can't be done right now. once that happens someone will have to either port it to the atrix or someone on the team will end up supporting the atrix and create a build for it.
Wonder if its too late to trade my Atrix in for a Galaxy S II =/ - Burning right now.

Can someone explain this to me? How is it possible for the milestone and not for the Atrix.
I have a Milestone 1. It has a locked bootloader. However, it is completely modded. I mean, you can install themes, system modifications, overclock, modified kernel, etc. If it can be done on Milestone, why couldn't it be done on Atrix?
Maybe a dev can answer this question...

As long as the bootloader is locked - you CANNOT change any part of the kernel... at least not on the Atrix... if it fails signature verification (which is encrpyted with an SBK) you will have yourself a nice shiny brick....
we cant do a ROM. but AOSP ROMs and Ported ROMs can still be done, just wait, the phone doesnt have enough time to get in the market properly, and all the people starts complaining about it, if you dont like it, you did you brought i the first place.

If im understanding the article I just read on 2nd init, its pointless to run this unless you have a rom to install or are building a rom that uses it. This mod doesn't currently do anything for basic users and there is no need to have it currently. This mod is for serious developers only, am I right naven? I mean what's the point of hijacking the init if you have nothing to overwrite the boot process with? This is a very important mod , don't get me wrong and im very thankful for it.

Please don't ever say that no one is doing anything with this. I am. CM7 is what I'm trying to do and with a dedicated version for the x2 (which my current version is a port of the ATRIX), I might be able to do something. The ONLY thing keeping me from continuing with CM7 is the new init script for it. Right now, I'm stuck though until kernel.org is back up and running.
I'm wondering, with 2nd init, would it be possible to boot into tenfars recovery without having to plug your phone in? If so, how hard would it be to implement?

Sorry. No offense intended. Rooting the SGS2 is really easy, all you need todo is flash a kernel.
Recovery and the kernel are fused together, whenever you flash a kernel you are flashing recovery, so to get CWM you need a kernel with CWM.
No such thing as S-off (unlocked bootloaders woo!)
A good guide to everything, clickme
The modem is almost unbrickable (people have recovered form flashing a i9000 modem by just flashing a new modem)
You never need to put a .pit into odin or repartition.
The current ICS leaks are unstable and not really daily drivers.
Stock roms download links plus howto
Carrier branded firmware
Easiest way to root
As far as popular roms, poke around the original android section, pretty much all the roms in there are good.

There's the soft brick my friend. Try to boot into recovery and restore. If you can't get into recovery, you will have to re-install a recovery using fastboot or adb. You can find the instructions on X's site in Amaze>Development> and find a recovery... It will be labeled "hard way" but its not really hard at all. It's easier than soft bricking your phone

Thanks man!
