HTC EVO 3D on Sero plan

Hey everyone, so i'm currently on the sprint sero plan with the HTC TP2. I'm switcing over to the sero premium to get the HTC EVO 3d. I went into the sprint store to pre-order a phone and the rep told me i had to call a certain number to get my phone since i'm sero, however when i called the number they said i'll have to wait till release date, can't pre-order.
Was the sprint rep wrong, or is there something i can do to remedy this??
Also, there's no way me getting around the paying the full 500$, is there?
gah ....
you can pre order in store no problem. not sure why they would say otherwise.
you cannot pre order through telesales unfortunately. i wish they would change that.
as far as pricing goes it depends on your upgrade status.
amazon has them for $469 contract free.
I need to know if I can upgrade my sero premium with best buy... I'm the first pre-order on the list... I get mixed answers... any ideas? Questions? Concerns? Comments?

You have to find someone willing to do it for you.
Sero is supposed to be done @ sprint.
WireFly will pre-order it for you while you're on SERO. Just ordered mine. $179.99

Have you done this before?
Wirefly has posted that they do not do sero.
I've never ordered from WireFly, but I sat on the phone with them and placed the order. I got an order confirmation and everything...
Hmmmm... let's hope you get it with no complications.. usually when I tried upgrading online or phone order I would get a "problem with your order" email... let us know the outcome please..

I'll definitely keep ya'll posted... Did you do yours from the website, or call?
Did mine through the website a year ago before they had the mandatory plan change, I checked earlier yesterday. I also tried radioshack as well and had the same results.. seems you have to pick a plan after picking your phone when upgrading now... here is some of the mixed reviews from sero plan upgrade attempts... that is if you guys have time to read it. http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213519

just buy from sprint, you can still preorder it from there. They have to switch you from sero to sero P

but the OP was asking about how to go from sero to sero P; you can get your upgrade discount by switching from sero to seroP at sprint stores. Couple that with your 150 discount if you are up for it and it wont be too bad to get your 3vo3d
Or you can call 8886037981 to switch to and from any sero plan... my fault... should I create another thread to touch up on my question? I'm not tryin to troll or steal your thread... just trying to see if my pre order was placed for nothing.

thanks for that number... I have to upgrade my fiance's line from Sero to Sero premium so she can take my Evo. Ill try calling it this afternoon/evening and will post results.
So I have a friend who is in the employee referral program. So just to be clear, she can add a line to her account at a Sprint store if she has this plan?
I thought it could only be by phone but if not, I will tell her to pre-order at the store.
Thanks!

I don't see why not... take the number I posted with you in case they give you a hard time... its a direct number to the virginia sprint employee accounts call center. I know it's with the sero plan for sure.

This is what I plan on doing, hope it works...
Call the number posted above to switch from Sero to Sero P. Then go to wirefly to buy the phone and select the "no plan change" option.
Just as an FYI, it didn't work. I am already on SERO P because I have a HeroC. I pre-ordered my EVO3D last night with WireFly, and they said everything went through, but I got an email this morning saying the order was canceled. It also said to call 800-SPRINT1 to "complete" the order. I called and got telesales, and they told me they can't pre-order the phone there, I would have to go into a Sprint Store and pre-order it. They also said that it probably canceled because I didn't have the additional $10 Premium Data add-on for 4G (although the person I spoke to at WireFly told me they were adding it to my plan for me).
So, looks like I'll be heading up to the Sprint Store in front of the Mall at Millenia after work to pre-order my phone there at full price. If you pre-order in store, you HAVE to buy a $50 Sprint GC, then use it towards the purchase of the $200 for the phone. Weird...
Couldn't you just call Sprint and have them add the $10 fee and then order from wirefly?

Upgrade questions

Hello everyone I recently upgraded to the Evo 3d and I was on the half upgrade and they allowed me to upgrade paying the $200 price. Now that I tried to upgrade my girlfriend's line doing the same thing they would not allow it to happen. Her upgrade is on September 1st but they told us that they could prorate it and upgrade before September first but we tried and they told us that we had to pay $475 . I do not understand why do we get different prices, the retail on my line and full retail price on hers? Hope you can help and thanks in advance!!

I belive the $200 is the full upgrade price. They give you $150 every 2 years and you also get a mail in rebate. I am not sure if sprint is still doing it but they were giving instant rebates, I think that was just a promotional thing and its over now. As far as your upgrade in September you wont get it until September unless you are willing to talk to a million people at sprint.

That leaked Staples memo had the Verizon date at 5/30. I'm not complaining though, hope you're right. My 2-year contract ended in February and I've been waiting since then for the S4...

I asked the Verizon dude about that. He said he cant speak for staples, but he, the gm of that particular Verizon, and that Samsung rep guaranteed me that verizons official launch date is may 23rd, accepting preorders a few weeks in advance. Just watch, and remember my post.

I actually went there to buy an sgs3 because I've been eligible for an upgrade since November. The guys said that if i came there earlier in the morning wanting to buy the sgs3, they would have told me to buy it because before the rep from Samsung showed up, they didn't know exactly when they were gonna get it. So I'm lucky i went when i did, because if i bought the s3 just to find out i could get the s4 on the 23rd, i would have been kicking myself in the ass.

Still on unlimited data (the only reason I'm on Verizon). Can't get the upgrade cost of $199 without losing it.

Samsungs PR released today states it will be on Verizon by the end of April. Looks like they are keeping their reps out of the loop!
The Galaxy S 4 is optimized for powerful performance on the nation’s fastest networks and will be available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless as well as U.S. Cellular, Cricket and C Spire starting during April. Additionally, consumers can find the Galaxy S 4 at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile, Costco, Radio Shack, Sam’s Club, Staples, Target and Wal-Mart. Exact pricing and retail availability will be announced by each of the carriers and retailers in the coming weeks.

It's a poorly worded press release. My guess is that the release meant that it will be available on those 7 carriers, some of which will start in April.
@VZWnews @VerizonWireless @Verizon I still have unlimited internet after 4/21 can I buy new galaxy s4 cell using the new 12 month payment plan that's effective on 4/21 without upgrading to the 200sub? Does anyone know I think everyone who still has unlimited internet should ask Verizon this.. I wanna get the new s4 but keep my unlimited internet so will this 12month thing work for me?

Should be the same as buying for full price. They just allow you to put the rest of the cost into your monthly payments. Would be extremely low of them to force you off unlimited since you're not extending your contract that way. I don't even know if they're allowed to do that. But yes I highly recommend calling a Verizon Wireless rep and confirming on this before doing that. Verizon is so sensitive about unlimited data plans now that even the smallest change could give them a reason to force you off. If you do get confirmation be sure to let us know.
I tweeted them asking them the same question in 6 different ways so if I don't hear anything soon its cause there avoiding the question..

Has anyone been able to buy a One off contract?

I'm on vacation in NYC and tried to buy a One at the Times square AT&T but was denied. I was told they are saving them for contract upgrades.
Is this true for all AT&T stores, or was I fed some BS?

I could have today at a corporate store here in South Carolina and decided not to.
bs. try another store
I have been told in the past that technically there is a rule against selling phones off-contract on release day but the manager can override. Once they have enough inventory to not be concerned about selling out to new contracts or upgrades they are permitted to sell off-contract.
I preordered off contract on 4/5 and received it today...

Word of caution for off-contract purchase. If you have premier AT&T service that discounts your plan, every phone you add locks the new line in for 2 years regardless of whether you own the phone or not. It's better to buy on contract because you get the phone discount and same 2 year lock if you are on a discounted plan.
That isn't correct if you are using on an existing line...have done it at least once a year for 6 years, while receiving 18% off through my employer...

I meant if you add a new line. To your point, when you buy on contract, you are actually committing to 2 years of service, not the device. So yes, if you get a new phone and pop in an old SIM, there's not contract extension.
As a general rule, ask the AT&T sales rep if there are any stipulations or contract changes when you add a new line.
I did. Today. My rep said when the devices are in short supply they limit them to new activations only.
I had same issues with sprint. No stores will sell out right so I had to pay best buy prices:-/

No issues here. I've honestly never had an AT&T store decline to sell me a device at full retail. Within the last year on launch day I have bought the HOX, S3, Note 2, Lumia 920, BB Z10, and now the One full retail from my local ATT corporate store. Haven't encountered even the slightest resistance to selling off contract. Perhaps it varies by region?

I was able to get one today. I was denied at the retail stores unless I buy on contract. You need to go to AT&T authorized retailer stores. You can always call ahead to check, too.

[Q] SPRINT ETF if they terminate

Are you liable to pay the ETF if Sprint cancels your line due to roaming? I read a post on the Epic 4G Touch forum where someone said 50% of the people he knows that tried the PRL change to get out of contract had to pay the ETF.
I don't see how you would be responsible if they're the ones cancelling your two year agreement.
Also, I have 4 lines on my plan but only 1 of them needs to get out of contract. Will the roaming get just that line terminated or the entire account?
Thanks
Not that I know of. I've never seen them make u pay the ETF in that situation.

If I have 4 lines on the account, do they terminate the single line or the entire account?
Thanks!
I've seen people in that situation where they just terminated the single line that was the problem. Now whether or not u could complain and say that you all have to go elsewhere because one got booted I don't know if they would help you or not.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Sprint should resolve this issue for you, would need to call their customer service line of course but by you signing an agreement with them staying that you would pay the termination fee also goes for them as well which states they wouldn't charge you the term fee if they were to break the contract. Also they would only cancel just your line since each number is actually on its own contact. Hope this helps
